To address this, this paper employs a mixed-effects model to analyze gene expression data. In terms of data selection, 1176 genes from the white mouse gene expression dataset under two experimental conditions were chosen, setting up two conditions: pneumococcal infection and no infection, and constructing a mixed-effects model. After preprocessing the gene chip information, the data were imported into the model, preliminary results were calculated, and permutation tests were performed to biologically validate the preliminary results using GSEA. The final dataset consists of 20 groups of gene expression data from pneumococcal infection, which categorizes functionally related genes based on the similarity of their expression profiles, facilitating the study of genes with unknown functions.展开更多

Currently, most of the researches are focused on the description of geometric models and the definition of boundary conditions. However, none of them can solve the problems fundamentally. To improve the simulation efficiency while ensure the results with high accuracy, a mixed model method which uses gear tooth profiles to take the place of the solid gear to simulate gear movement is presented under these circumstances. In the process of modeling, build the solid models of the mechanism in the SolidWorks firstly; Then collect the point coordinates of outline curves of the gear using SolidWorks API and create fit curves in Adams based on the point coordinates; Next, adjust the position of those fitting curves according to the position of the contact area; Finally, define the loading conditions, boundary conditions and simulation parameters. The method provides gear shape information by tooth profile curves; simulates the mesh process through tooth profile curve to curve contact and offer mass as well as inertia data via solid gear models. This simulation process combines the two models to complete the gear driving analysis. In order to verify the validity of the method presented, both theoretical derivation and numerical simulation on a runaway escapement are conducted. Achieving an efficient and precise inversion for gravity anomaly imaging over large-scale and complex terrain requires additional methods. To this end, we have proposed a new topography-capable By performing a two-dimensional Fourier transform in the horizontal directions, threedimensional partial differential equations in the spatial domain were transformed into a group of independent, one-dimensional differential equations engaged with different wave numbers. These independent differential equations are highly parallel across different wave numbers. differential equations with different wave numbers, and the efficiency of solving fixedbandwidth linear equations was further improved by a chasing method. In a synthetic test, a prism model was used to verify the accuracy and reliability of the proposed algorithm by comparing the numerical solution with the analytical solution. We studied the computational precision and efficiency with and without topography using different Fourier transform methods. The results showed that the Guass-FFT method has higher numerical precision, while the standard FFT method is superior, in terms of computation time, for inversion and quantitative interpretation under complicated terrain.展开更多

The Large Eddy Simulation(LES) method with the Transported Probability Density Function(TPDF) turbulence combustion model is promising in engineering applications. In flame region, the impact of chemical reaction should be considered in TPDF molecular mixing model. Based on pioneer research, three new TPDF turbulence-chemistry dual time scale molecular mixing models were proposed tentatively by adding the chemistry time scale in molecular mixing model for nonpremixed flame. The Aero-Engine Combustor Simulation Code(AECSC) which is based on LES-TPDF method was combined with the three new models. Then the Sandia laboratory's methane-air jet flames: Flame D and Flame E were simulated. Transient simulation results show that all the three new models can predict the instantaneous combustion flow pattern of the jet flames. Furthermore, the average scalar statistical results were compared with the experimental data. The simulation result of the new TPDF arithmetic mean modification model is the closest to the experimental data:the average error in Flame D is 7.6% and 6.6% in Flame E. The extinction and re-ignition phenomena of the jet flames especially Flame E were captured. The turbulence time scale and the chemistry time scale are in different order in the whole flow field. The dual time scale TPDF combustion model has ability to deal with both the turbulence effect and the chemistry reaction effect, as well as their interaction more accurately for nonpremixed flames.展开更多

Thirty-two cows were randomly assigned to one of two total mixed ration groups: a ration containing a mixed forage (MF) of 3.7% Chinese wildrye, 28.4% alfalfa hay and 26.5% corn silage diet and another ration containing 33.8% corn stover (CS) as unique forage source. The actual DMI was greater in MF group than in CS group (P=0.064). The NRC model to predict DMI resulted in the lowest root mean square prediction error for both MF and CS groups (1.09 kg d-1 vs. 1.28 kg d-1) and the highest accuracy and precision based on concordance correlation coefficient for both MF and CS diet (0.89 vs. 0.87). Except the NRC model, the other two models presented mean and linear biases in both MF and CS diets when prediction residuals were plotted against predicted DMI values (P〈0.001). The DMI variation in MF was caused by week of lactation (55.6%), milk yield (13.9%), milk fat percentage (7.1%) and dietary neutral detergent fiber (13.3%), while the variation in CS was caused by week of lactation (50.9%), live body weight (28.2%), milk yield (8.4%), milk fat percentage (5.2%) and dietary neutral detergent fibre (3.8%). In a brief, the NRC model to predict DMI is comparatively acceptable for lactating dairy cows fed two total mixed rations with different forage source.展开更多

Artificial mixing experiments using typical crude oils and ratios of different biomarkers show that the relative contribution changes are non-linear when two oils with different concentrations of biomarkers mix with each other. This may result in an incorrect conclusion if ratios of biomarkers and a simple binary linear equation are used to calculate the contribution proportion of each end-member to the mixed oil. The changes of biomarker ratios with the mixing proportion of end-member oils in the trinal mixing model are more complex than in the binary mixing model. When four or more oils mix, the contribution proportion of each end-member oil to the mixed oil cannot be calculated using biomarker ratios and a simple formula. Artificial mixing experiments on typical oils reveal that the absolute concentrations of biomarkers in the mixed oil cause a linear change with mixing proportion of each end-member. Mathematical inferences verify such linear changes. Some of the mathematical calculation methods using the absolute concentrations or ratios of biomarkers to quantitatively determine the proportion of each end-member in the mixed oils are deduced from the results of artificial experiments and by theoretical inference. Ratio of two biomarker compounds changes as a hyperbola with the mixing proportion in the binary mixing model, as a hyperboloid in the trinal mixing model, and as a hypersurface when mixing more than three end- members. The mixing proportion of each end-member can be quantitatively determined with these mathematical models, using the absolute concentrations and the ratios of biomarkers. The mathematical calculation model is more economical, convenient, accurate and reliable than conventional artificial mixing methods.展开更多

In the two proposed formulations, the stress equilibrium and orthogonality constraints are imposed through incompatible displacement and internal strain modes respectively. The proposed model by the general formulations in this paper is characterized by including as- sumed stress/strain, assumed stress, variable-node, singular, compatible and incompatible GH/ME models. When using regular meshes or the constant values of the isoparametric Jacobian Det in the assumed strain in- terpolation, the incompatible GH/ME model degenerates to the hybrid/mixed element model. Both general and concrete guidelines for the optimal selection of element shape functions are suggested. By means of the GH/ME theory in this paper, a family of new GH/ME can be and have been easily constructed. The software can also be developed conveniently because all the standard subroutines for the corresponding isoparametric displacement elements can be utilized directly.展开更多

Through off-line tests and a simulation of a real typhoon, the authors compared the performance of the WRF-OMLM-Noh with another existing ocean mixed-layer coupled model (WRF-OMLM-Pollard). In the off-line tests with Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere Program's Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Response Experiment (TOGA-COARE) observational data, the results show that OMLM-Noh is better able to simulate sea surface temperature (SST) variational trends than OMLM -Pollard. Moreover, OMLM-Noh can sufficiently reproduce the diurnal cycle of SST. Regarding the typhoon case study, SST cooling due to wind-driven ocean mixing is underestimated in WRF-OMLM-Pollard, which artificially increases the intensity of the typhoon due to more simulated air-sea heat fluxes. Compared to the WRF- OMLM-Pollard, the performance of WRF-OMLM-Noh is superior in terms of both the spatial distribution and temporal variation of SST and air-sea heat fluxes.展开更多

文摘In gravity-anomaly-based prospecting, the computational and memory requirements for practical numerical modeling are potentially enormous. The results showed that the Guass-FFT method has higher numerical precision, while the standard FFT method is superior, in terms of computation time, for inversion and quantitative interpretation under complicated terrain.

文摘The mortality of trees across diameter class model is a useful tool for predicting changes in stand structure.Mortality data commonly contain a large fraction of zeros and general discrete models thus show more errors.Based on the traditional Poisson model and the negative binomial model, different forms of zero-inflated and hurdle models were applied to spruce-fir mixed forests data to simulate the number of dead trees.By comparing the residuals and Vuong test statistics, the zero-inflated negative binomial model performed best.A random effect was added to improve the model accuracy;however, the mixed-effects zero-inflated model did not show increased advantages.According to the model principle, the zeroinflated negative binomial model was the most suitable, indicating that the"0"events in this study, mainly from the sample"0",i.e.,the zero mortality data, are largely due to the limitations of the experimental design and sample selection. These results also show that the number of dead trees in the diameter class is positively correlated with the number of trees in that class and the mean stand diameter, and inversely related to class size, and slope and aspect of the site.

文摘The numerical simulation of modern aero-engine combustion chamber needs accurate description of the interaction between turbulence and chemical reaction mechanism. The dual time scale TPDF combustion model has ability to deal with both the turbulence effect and the chemistry reaction effect, as well as their interaction more accurately for nonpremixed flames.

文摘Dry matter intake (DMI) prediction models of NRC (2001), Fox et aL (2004) and Fuentes-Pila et aL (2003) were targeted in the present study, and the objective was to evaluate their prediction accuracy with feeding trial data of 32 lactating Holstein cows fed two total mixed rations with different forage source. In a brief, the NRC model to predict DMI is comparatively acceptable for lactating dairy cows fed two total mixed rations with different forage source.

文摘Background:We used mixed models with random components to develop height-diameter(h-d) functions for mixed,uneven-aged stands in northwestern Durango(Mexico),considering the breast height diameter(d) and stand variables as predictors. Methods:The data were obtained from 44 permanent plots used to monitor stand growth under forest management in the study area. Results:The generalized Bertalanffy-Richards model performed better than the other generalized models in predicting the total height of the species under study. For the genera Pinus and Quercus, the models were successfully calibrated by measuring the height of a subsample of three randomly selected trees close to the mean d,whereas for species of the genera Cupressus,Arbutus and Alnus, three trees were also selected, but they are specifically the maximum, minimum and mean d trees. Conclusions:The presented equations represent a new tool for the evaluation and management of natural forest in the region.
文摘It is difficult to identify the source(s) of mixed oils from multiple source rocks, and in particular the relative contribution of each source rock. The mathematical calculation model is more economical, convenient, accurate and reliable than conventional artificial mixing methods.

文摘A novel control strategy for a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)system, which has the typical characteristic of strongly pronounced nonlinearity, multiple operating points, and a wide operating range,is initiated from the point of hybrid systems. The proposed scheme makes full use of the modeling power of mixed logical dy- namical(MLD)systems to describe the highly nonlinear dynamics and multiple operating points in a unified framework as a hybrid system, and takes advantage of the good control quality of model predictive control(MPC) to design a controller. Thus, this approach avoids oscillation during switching between sub-systems,helps to relieve shaking in transition, and augments the stability robustness of the whole system, and finally achieves optimal(i.e. fast and smooth)transition between operating points. The simulation results demonstrate that the presented ap- proach has a satisfactory performance.

文摘The inheritance of stripe disease resistance in a rice restorer line C224 was analyzed using the mixed effect model of major gene plus polygene for quantitative traits. In addition, the resistance was investigated in seven crosses of C224 with maintainer lines. The results showed that the stripe resistance of C224 was controlled by two major genes with additive-dominance-epistasis effects plus polygenes with additive-dominance effects (E-1 model). These two genes had additive effects of-12.47% and-24.75%,respectively,showing negative dominance effects. There were significant epistasis and interaction effects between the two major genes. The heritability of the two major genes was 92.12%,while that of polygenes was 2.74%,indicating that the stripe resistance had dominant major gene effect.Of the seven crosses, five displayed high or medium resistance to the stripe disease.
文摘By the modified three-field Hu-Washizu principle, this paper establishes a theoretical founda- tion and general convenient formulations to generate convergent stable generalized hybrid/mixed cle- ment (GH/ME) model which is invariant with respect to coordinate, insensitive to geometric distortion and suitable for improved stress computation. The software can also be developed conveniently because all the standard subroutines for the corresponding isoparametric displacement elements can be utilized directly.
文摘Spatial models are effective in obtaining local details on grassland biomass, and their accuracy has important practical significance for the stable management of grasses and livestock. To this end,the present study utilized measured quadrat data of grass yield across different regions in the main growing season of temperate grasslands in Ningxia of China(August 2020),combined with hydrometeorology, elevation, net primary productivity(NPP),and other auxiliary data over the same period.Accordingly,non-stationary characteristics of the spatial scale, and the effects of influencing factors on grass yield were analyzed using a mixed geographically weighted regression(MGWR)model. The results showed that the model was suitable for correlation analysis. The spatial scale of ratio resident-area index(PRI)was the largest, followed by the digital elevation model,NPP,distance from gully, distance from river, average July rainfall, and daily temperature range;whereas the spatial scales of night light, distance from roads, and relative humidity(RH)were the most limited. All influencing factors maintained positive and negative effects on grass yield, save for the strictly negative effect of RH.The regression results revealed a multiscale differential spatial response regularity of different influencing factors on grass yield.Regression parameters revealed that the results of Ordinary least squares(OLS)(Adjusted R^(2)=0.642)and geographically weighted regression(GWR)(Adjusted R^(2)=0.797)models were worse than those of MGWR(Adjusted R^(2)=0.889)models.Based on the results of the RMSE and radius index, the simulation effect also was MGWR>GWR>OLS models.Ultimately, the MGWR model held the strongest prediction performance(R^(2)=0.8306).Spatially,the grass yield was high in the south and west, and low in the north and east of the study area. The results of this study provide a new technical support for rapid and accurate estimation of grassland yield to dynamically adjust grazing decision in the semi-arid loess hilly region.

文摘A new mesoscale air-sea coupled model (WRF- OMLM-Noh) was constructed based on the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model and an improved Mellor-Yamada ocean mixed-layer model from Noh and Kim (OMLM-Noh). Compared to the WRF- OMLM-Pollard, the performance of WRF-OMLM-Noh is superior in terms of both the spatial distribution and temporal variation of SST and air-sea heat fluxes.
