As the mine depth around the world increases, the temperature of the surrounding rock of the mining workface increases significantly. To control the heat hazards, the hot water in the mining floor is developed during mining to decrease the min-ing workface temperature while also developing geothermal energy. This method is called the co-exploitation of mine and geothermal energy(CMGE).The geothermal development may precipitate the large-scale failure of the nearby fault zone during the mining process. However, the evolution of shear slide and shear failure of fault under geothermal production/rein-jection during mining is missing. Therefore,a fully-coupled hydraulic mechanism(HM)double-medium model for CMGE was developed based on the measured data of the Chensilou mine.A comparative analysis of the mechanical response of fault between CMGE and single mining was conducted. The disturbance of geothermal production pressure and reinjection pressure under mining on fault stability were respectively expounded. The results indicate that:(1)The disturbance of geo-thermal reinjection amplifies the disturbance of mining on fault stability. The amplified effect resulted in a normal stress drop of the fault, further leading to a substantial increase in shear slide distance, failure area, and cumulative seismic moment of fault compared with the single mining process.(2)As the distance of reinjection well to the fault decreases, the fault failure intensity increases.Setting the production well within the fault is advantageous for controlling fault stability under CMGE.(3)The essence of the combined disturbance of CMGE on the nearby fault is the overlay of tensile stress disturbance on the fault rock mass of the mining and geothermal reinjection.Though the geothermal reinjection causes a minor normal stress drop of fault,it can result in a more serious fault failure under CMGE.This paper supplies a significant gap in understanding thenearby faults failure under CMGE. 展开更多

Understanding dynamic visualization of mining-induced stress is of great significance to disaster prevention and control in coal mining activities. In this study, three theoretical models, including linear, polynomial, and exponential models, are proposed to inverse the mining-induced stress through the acquisition and analysis of hydraulic support stress and micro-seismicity in the coal mining face. The distribution of mining-induced stress in the coal seam are graphed by fitting two key stress parameters including hydraulic support stress and peak stress, and two key zones including goaf zone and in situ stress zone. These key stress parameters and zones are defined based on the critical nodes of the model curve.According to the geological background of Mataihao coal mine in Erdos,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China, the contours of mining-induced stress are graphed through the stress calculation of these three inversion theoretical models. The multi-monitoring data of micro-seismicity,drilling chips, advanced borehole stress and bolts axial force are used to verify the key stress parameters and zones of the theoretical models. It shows that the monitoring data are in good agreement with the distribution of inversed results. It should be emphasized that,if the fault structure exists around the mining face, the mining-induced stress decreases obviously when the mining face is passing through the faults, and the location of the peak stress will be closer to the mining face. The results in this study could provide methods for early prevention of extreme mining-induced stress and disaster control in the mining activities. 展开更多

Developing hydrothermal resources in highly conductive karst aquifers at deep mine floors is regarded as a potential approach to achieving the co-development of coal and geothermal resources. However, the heat transfer potential of the fracture system in the target reservoir under mining activities remains in suspense.Hence,a coupled thermal-hydraulic-mechanical model was developed for the karst reservoir of Anju coal mine in China, considering non-isothermal convective heat transfer in fractures. This model examined the influence of stress redistribution due to different mining distances(MD)on the effective flow channel length/density and the high/low-aperture fracture distribution. The dynamic heat generation characteristics of the geothermal reservoir were evaluated.Key findings include:Mining-induced stress creates interlaced high-aperture and low-aperture fracture zones below the goaf.Within these interlaced zones, the combined effect of high-and low-aperture fractures restricts the effective flow channel length/density of the fracture network. This contraction of the flow field leads to a significant decline in production flow rate, which consequently reduces both the production flow rate and power as MD increases. This work represents the study of mining disturbances on geothermal production, providing a theoretical foundation for the co-development of coal and geothermal resources. 展开更多

High-intensive underground mining has caused severe ground fissures, resulting in environmental degradation.Consequently, prompt detection is crucial to mitigate their environmental impact. However, the accurate segmentation of fissuresin complex and variable scenes of visible imagery is a challenging issue. Our method,DeepFissureNets-Infrared-Visible(DFN-IV),highlights the potential of incorporating visible images with infrared information for improved ground fissuresegmentation.DFNIV adopts a two-step process.First,a fusion network is trained with the dual adversarial learning strategy fuses infrared and visible imaging, providing an integrated representation of fissuretargets that combines the structural information with the textual details.Second, the fused images are processed by a fine-tunedsegmentation network, which lever-ages knowledge injection to learn the distinctive characteristics of fissuretargets effectively.Furthermore,an infrared-visible ground fissuredataset(IVGF)is built from an aerial investigation of the Daliuta Coal Mine.Extensive experiments reveal that our approach provides superior accuracy over single-modality image strategies employed in fivesegmentation models.Notably,DeeplabV3+tested with DFN-IV improves by 9.7%and 11.13%in pixel accuracy and Intersection over Union(IoU),respectively, compared to solely visible images. Moreover, our method surpasses six state-of-the-art image fusion methods, achieving a 5.28%improvement in pixel accuracy and a 1.57%increase in IoU,respectively, compared to the second-best effective method. In addition, ablation studies further validate the significanceof the dual adversarial learning module and the integrated knowledge injection strategy.By leveraging DFN-IV,we aim to quantify the impacts of mining-induced ground fissures, facilitating the implementation of intelligent safety measures. 展开更多

Rechargeable Zn/Sn-air batteries have received considerable attention as promising energy storage devices. However, the electrochemical performance of these batteries is significantly constrained by the sluggish electrocatalytic reaction kinetics at the cathode. The integration of light energy into Zn/Sn-air batteries is a promising strategy for enhancing their performance. However, the photothermal and photoelectric effects generate heat in the battery under prolonged solar irradiation, leading to air cathode instability. This paper presents the first design and synthesis of Ni_(2)-1,5-diamino-4,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone(Ni_(2)DDA),an electronically conductiveπ-d conjugated metal-organic framework(MOF).Ni_(2)DDA exhibits both photoelectric and photothermal effects, with an optical band gap of~1.14 eV.Under illumination,Ni_(2)DDA achieves excellent oxygen evolution reaction performance(with an overpotential of 245 mV vs.reversible hydrogen electrode at 10 mA cm^(−2))and photothermal stability. These properties result from the synergy between the photoelectric and photothermal effects of Ni_(2)DDA.Upon integration into Zn/Sn-air batteries,Ni_(2)DDA ensures excellent cycling stability under light and exhibits remarkable performance in high-temperature environments up to 80℃.This study experimentally confirms the stable operation of photo-assisted Zn/Sn-air batteries under high-temperature conditions for the first time and provides novel insights into the application of electronically conductive MOFs in photoelectrocatalysis and photothermal catalysis. 展开更多

Beam-tracking simulations have been extensively utilized in the study of collective beam instabilities in circular accelerators.Traditionally, many simulation codes have relied on central processing unit(CPU)-based methods, tracking on a single CPU core,or parallelizing the computation across multiple cores via the message passing interface(MPI).Although these approaches work well for single-bunch tracking, scaling them to multiple bunches significantly increases the computational load, which often necessitates the use of a dedicated multi-CPU cluster. To address this challenge, alternative methods leveraging General-Purpose computing on Graphics Processing Units(GPGPU)have been proposed, enabling tracking studies on a standalone desktop personal computer(PC).However, frequent CPU-GPU interactions, including data transfers and synchronization operations during tracking, can introduce communication overheads, potentially reducing the overall effectiveness of GPU-based computations. In this study,we propose a novel approach that eliminates this overhead by performing the entire tracking simulation process exclusively on the GPU,thereby enabling the simultaneous processing of all bunches and their macro-particles.Specifically,we introduce MBTRACK2-CUDA,a Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA)ported version of MBTRACK2,which facilitates efficient tracking of single-and multi-bunch collective effects by leveraging the full GPU-resident computation. 展开更多

Benzalkonium chloride(BAC)is widely employed as a broad-spectrum biocide and has emerged as a significant environmental pollutant.Polymyxin B(PB)serves as the last-line defense for the treatment of Gram-negative pathogens.Previous studies reported that BAC-adapted Pseudomonas aeruginosa increased the tolerance to PB.Herein,we present the novel finding that the combination of BAC and PB exhibited synergistic antibacterial effects against P.aeruginosa.Time-killing assay demonstrated a significant reduction in bacterial cell viability.Scanning electron microscopy, zeta potential analysis, hydrophobicity measurements, and fluorescence probe analyses collectively revealed severe disruption of the cell envelope and membrane potential induced by the combination of BAC and PB.Transcriptomic analysis revealed that the BAC-PB combination notably downreg-ulated the expression of genes involved in lipid A modification and cell envelope production, including phoPQ,pmrAB,bamABCDE,lptABCDEG,lolB,yidC,and murJ.Additionally, the combination group exhibited augmented production of reactive oxygen species and diminished ATP synthesis. The expression of the genes associated with substance metabolism and energy generation was significantly impeded. This study provides significant implica-tions for the interactions of biocides and antibiotics on Gram-negative pathogens, while also addressing antibiotic resistance and developing the external treatment strategy for Pseudomonas-infected wounds and burns. 展开更多

Electrical and electronic devices face significant challenges in heatmanagement due to their compact size and high heat flux, which negatively impact performance and reliability.Conventional coolingmethods, such as forced air cooling, often struggle to transfer heat efficiently. In contrast, thermoelectric coolers(TECs)provide an innovative active cooling solution to meet growing thermal management demands. In this research,a refrigerant based on mono ethylene glycol and distilled water was used instead of using gases,in addition to using thermoelectric cooling units instead of using a compressor in traditional refrigeration systems. This study evaluates the performance of a Peltierbased thermalmanagement systemby analyzing the effects of using two, three, and four Peltiermodules on cooling rates, power consumption, temperature reduction, and system efficiency.Experimental results indicate that increasing the number of Peltier modules significantly enhances cooling performance. The four-module system achieved an optimal balance between cooling speed and energy efficiency, reducing the temperature of a liquidmixture(30% mono ethylene glycol+70% distilled water plus laser dyes)to 8℃ in just 17 min.It demonstrated a cooling rate of 0.794℃/min and a high coefficient of performance(COP)of 1.2 while consuming less energy than the two-and three-module systems.Furthermore, the study revealed that increasing the number of modules led to faster air cooling and improved temperature reduction. These findings highlight the importance of selecting the optimal number of Peltier modules to enhance efficiency and cooling speed whileminimizing energy consumption. This makes TEC technology a sustainable and effective solution for applications requiring rapid and reliable thermal management. 展开更多

The magnetic properties and Kondo effect in Ce3TiBi5 with a quasi-one-dimensional structure were investigated using in situ high-pressure resistivity measurements up to 48 GPa.At ambient pressure,Ce_(3)TiBi_(5) undergoes an antiferromagnetic(AFM)transition at T_(N)∼5 K.Under high pressures within 8.9 GPa,we find that Kondo scattering contributes differently to the high-temperature resistance,R(T),depending on the applied current direction, demonstrating a significantly anisotropic Kondo effect. The complete P–T phase diagram has been constructed,in which the pressure dependence of T_(N) exhibits a dome-like shape. The AFM order remains robust under pressure, even when the coherence temperature T^(*) far exceeds 300 K.We attribute the observed anisotropic Kondo effect and the robust AFM to the underlying anisotropy in electronic hybridization under high pressure. 展开更多

In winter 2018,an aerosol physicochemical experiment was conducted in the Western Pacific Ocean(WPO)aboard the Research Vessel KEXUE of Chinese Academy of Sciences. This study systematically investigated both natural and anthropogenic effects on marine aerosols optical properties,as well as the applicability of multi-satellite products and IMPROVE equation. The averaged aerosol optical depth(AOD500 nm)was 0.31±0.16 andÅngström exponent440–675 nm was 0.29±0.30.In offshore China, significant anthropogenic emissions affected the marine environment. In remote WPO,dust aerosols transported from northern China,Siberia,Central Asia, and those settling from the upper troposphere originating from north Africa,Arabian peninsula, and western India, were dominant. The spatial trends of AOD were opposite in the mid-latitude and southern seas of WPO.The highest AOD,0.32±0.23,appeared along the coast of South Asia at mid-latitude,decreasing from offshore seas to remote oceans. In low-latitude and equatorial seas,AOD significantly increased from coast to remote oceans.Ångström exponent dropped significantly from the coast to remote oceans as anthropogenic influence diminished across the entire WPO.Correlation analysis showed that both MODIS-C6 and Himawari AOD prod-ucts showed similar applicability in coastal urban areas, while Himawari AOD is highly recommended for coastal background and marine environment due to its finer resolution. The extinction coefficient derived from PM_(2.5) chemical compositions using IMPROVE algorithm exhibited a significant correlation(R^(2)=0.58)with the con-currently measured AOD in the absence of long-distance transport, suggesting that the IMPROVE is a reasonable proxy of the columnar average of marine aerosol extinctions free from transport influences. 展开更多

This paper prepared a novel as-cast W-Zr-Ti metallic ESM using high-frequency vacuum induction melting technique. The above ESM performs a typical elastic-brittle material feature and strain rate strengthening behavior. The specimens exhibit violent chemical reaction during the fracture process under the impact loading, and the size distribution of their residual debris follows Rosin-Rammler model. The dynamic fracture toughness is obtained by the fitting of debris length scale, approximately 1.87 MPa·m~(1/2).Microstructure observation on residual debris indicates that the failure process is determined by primary crack propagation under quasi-static compression, while it is affected by multiple cracks propagation in both particle and matrix in the case of dynamic impact.Impact test demonstrates that the novel energetic fragment performs brilliant penetration and combustion effect behind the front target, leading to the effective ignition of fuel tank. For the brittleness of as-cast W-ZrTi ESM,further study conducted bond-based peridynamic(BB-PD)C++computational code to simulate its fracture behavior during penetration. The BB-PD method successfully captured the fracture process and debris cloud formation of the energetic fragment. This paper explores a novel as-cast metallic ESM,and provides an available numerical avenue to the simulation of brittle energetic fragment. 展开更多

Background:While the treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC)is evolving due to immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs),optimal strategies for later lines of therapy have yet to be defined. The combination of lenvatinib and everolimus represents a viable option, and the present review aimed to summarize its activity, effectiveness, and safety. Methods:A systematic review of the literature was conducted using PubMed,targeting studies published between 2018 and 2025.Eligible studies included English-language prospective and retrospective trials reporting survival outcomes in mRCC patients treated with lenvatinib and everolimus after at least one ICI-containing regimen. Results:Nine studies met the inclusion criteria, encompassing a total of 441 patients. The lenvatinib and everolimus combination was primarily used in the third and subsequent lines of therapy.Median overall survival ranged from 7.5 to 24.5 months, while median progression-free survival was more consistent, between 6.1 and 6.7 months, except for one study reporting 12.9 months. Objective response rates varied widely(14.0%–55.7%).Adverse events of grade≥3 did not exceed the expected rate, with diarrhoea and proteinuria as the most reported events.Dose reductions and treatment discontinuations due to toxicity occurred but were generally lower than in prior pivotal trials.Conclusions:Real-world evidence suggests that lenvatinib and everolimus represent an effective and safe option after ICI failure in mRCC patients.Nevertheless, the lack of randomized phase III trials and the heterogeneity of existing studies highlight the need for more robust prospective research to guide post-ICI therapeutic strategies. 展开更多

Lithium metal batteries(LMBs)have been regarded as one of the most promising alternatives in the post-lithium battery era due to their high energy density, which meets the needs of light-weight electronic devices and long-range electric vehicles. However, technical barriers such as dendrite growth and poor Li plating/stripping reversibility severely hinder the practical application of LMBs.However, lithium nitrate(LiNO_(3))is found to be able to stabilize the Li/electrolyte interface and has been used to address the above challenges. To date, considerable research efforts have been devoted toward understanding the roles of LiNO_(3) in regulating the surface properties of Li anodes and toward the development of many effective strategies. These research efforts are partially mentioned in some articles on LMBs and yet have not been reviewed systematically. To fill this gap,we discuss the recent advances in fundamental and technological research on LiNO_(3) and its derivatives for improving the performances of LMBs,particularly for Li-sulfur(S),Li-oxygen(O),and Li-Li-containing transition-metal oxide(LTMO)batteries,as well as LiNO_(3)-containing recipes for precursors in battery materials and interphase fabrication. This review pays attention to the effects of LiNO_(3) in lithium-based batteries, aiming to provide scientific guidance for the optimization of electrode/electrolyte interfaces and enrich the design of advanced LMBs. 展开更多

The exploitation of coal bed methane or coal gas is one of the most effective solutions of the problem of coal gas hazard.A better understanding of gas flow in mining-induced cracks plays an important role in comprehensive development and utilization of coal gas as well as prevention of coal gas hazard. This paper presents a case study of gas flow in mining-induced crack network regarding the situation of low permeability of coal seam.A two-dimensional physical model is constructed on the basis of geological background of mining face No.1122(1) in coal seam No.11-2,Zhangji Coal Mine,Huainan Mining Group Corporation. The mining-induced stress and cracks in overburden rocks are obtained by simulating an extraction in physical model. An evolution of mining-induced cracks in the process of advancing of coal mining face is characterized and three typical crack networks are taken from digital photos by means of image analysis. Moreover, the numerical software named COMSOL Multiphysics is employed to simulate the process of gas flow in three representative crack networks.Isograms of gas pressure at various times in mining-induced crack networks are plotted, suggesting a shape and dimension of gas accumulation area. 展开更多

Gas extraction practice has been proven for the clear majority of coal mines in China to be unfavorable using drill holes in the coal seam. Rather, mining-induced fractures in the goaf should be utilized for gas extraction. To study gas migration in mining-induced fractures, one mining face of 10 th Mine in Pingdingshan Coalmine Group in Henan, China, has been selected as the case study for this work. By establishing the mathematical model of gas migration under the influence of coal seam mining, discrete element software UDEC and Multiphysics software COMSOL are employed to model gas migration in mining-induced fractures above the goaf. The results show that as the working face advances, the goaf overburden gradually forms a mining-induced fracture network in the shape of a trapezoid, the size of which increases with the distance of coal face advance. Compared with gas migration in the overburden matrix, the gas flow in the fracture network due to mining is far greater. The largest mining-induced fracture is located at the upper end of the trapezoidal zone, which results in the largest gas flux in the network. When drilling for gas extraction in a mining-induced fracture field, the gas concentration is reduced in the whole region during the process of gas drainage, and the rate of gas concentration drops faster in the fractured zone. It is shown that with gas drainage, the gas flow velocity in the mininginduced fracture network is faster. 展开更多

Fault is a common geological structure that has been revealed in the process of underground coal excavation and mining. The nature of its discontinuous structure controls the deformation, damage, and mechanics of the coal or rock mass. The interaction between this discontinuous structure and mining activities is a key factor that dominates fault reactivation and the coal burst it can induce. This paper first summarizes investigations into the relationships between coal mining layouts and fault occurrences, along with relevant conceptual models for fault reactivation.Subsequently,it proposes mechanisms of fault reactivation and its induced coal burst based on the superposition of static and dynamic stresses, which include two kinds of fault reactivations from:mining-induced quasi-static stress(FRMSS)-dominated and seismic-based dynamic stress(FRSDS)-dominated.These two kinds of fault reactivations are then validated by the results of experimental investigations, numerical modeling, and in situ microseismic monitoring. On this basis, monitoring methods and prevention strategies for fault-induced coal burst are discussed and recommended. The results show that fault-induced coal burst is triggered by the superposition of high static stress in the fault pillar and dynamic stress from fault reactivation.High static stress comes from the interaction of the fault and the roof structure, and dynamic stress can be ascribed to FRMSS and FRSDS.The results in this paper could be of great significance in guiding the monitoring and prevention of fault-induced coal bursts. 展开更多

In this study, the spatial distributions of stress and fracture fields for three typical underground coal mining layouts, Le, non-pillar mining (NM), top-coal caving mining (TCM) and protective coal-seam mining (PCM), are modeled using discrete element software UDEC, The numerical results show that different mining layouts can lead to different mining-induced stress fields, resulting in diverse fracture fields, For the PCM, the mining influenced area in front of the mining faces is the largest, and the stress concentration factor in front of the mining faces is the lowest, The spatial shapes of the mining-induced fracture fields under NM, TCM and PCM differ, and they are characterized by trapezoidal, triangular and tower shapes, respectively, The fractal dimensions of mining-induced fractures of the three mining layouts decrease in the order of PCM, TCM and NM, It is also shown that the PCM can result in a better gas control effect in coal mines with high outburst potential, The numerical results are expected to provide a basis for understanding of mining-induced gas seepage fields and provide a reference for high- efficiency coal mining, 展开更多

Mining-induced fracture zone will be produced in the overlying strata after the coal was mined. In this article, the mining-induced deformation of overlying strata and the time-space evolution law of fissure were studied by the methods of physical simulation and field measurement. The results show that bed separation fissure and vertical fissure will appear in the overlying strata above mining face, which form the wedge-shaped fissure zone. The open degree of fissure depends on the size of uncoordinated deformation between neighbor layers, and the absolute strata sinking controls both the width of bed separation zone and the open degree of vertical breakage fissure. At last, the calculating formula was deducted based on theoretical analysis. 展开更多

In order to obtain the distribution rules of in situ stress and mining-induced stress of Beiminghe Iron Mine, the stress relief method by overcoring was used to measure the in situ stress, and the MC type bore-hole stress gauge was adopted to measure the mining-induced stress. In the in situ stress measuring, the technique of improved hollow inclusion cells was adopted, which can realize complete temperature compensation. Based on the measuring results, the distribution model of in situ stress was established and analyzed. The in situ stress measuring result shows that the maximum horizontal stress is 1.75-2.45 times of vertical stress and almost 1.83 times of the minimum horizontal stress in this mineral field. And the mining-induced stress measuring result shows that, according to the magnitude of front abutment pressure the stress region can be separated into stress-relaxed area, stress- concentrated area and initial stress area. At the -50 m mining level of this mine, the range of stress-relaxed area is 0-3 m before mining face; the range of stress-concentrated area is 3-55 m before mining face, and the maximum mining-induced stress is 16.5-17.5 MPa, which is 15-20 m from the mining face. The coefficient of stress concentration is 1.85. 展开更多
