The article presents an original concept of a universal philosophical language capable of transcending the boundaries between individual sciences and serving as a foundation for transdisciplinary thinking. This approach, developed by the author since the 1980s,is based on particular and general comparative concepts-concepts of practical mind and categories of pure mind. Therefore, the key element of the concept is the category of"particular and general",which fundamentally differs from the traditional category of"part and whole".This allows for the description of both structural and functional aspects of complex systems not only at the interdisciplinary but also at the transdisciplinary level. The primary categories of thought-Identity,Difference,Correlated,Opposite,and others-are regarded as universal notions that connect levels of reality and ensure the integration of individual sciences.Unlike contemporary transdisciplinary concepts based on Basarab Nicolescu's logic of the included middle and Edgar Morin's dialogics, the author's theory is built on the ultimate general Hegelian notion of"concrete identity"and its differentiation into a multitude of"concrete differences"-comparative concepts. As a result,a unique philosophical language has been developed, presented within the framework of the Philosophical Matrix as a system of categories of pure mind capable of describing the dynamics and wholeness of complex processes at the transdisciplinary level. The article is intended for researchers interested in the philosophical foundations of transdisciplinarity, the theory of complexity, and the development of universal categories of thought. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Psychotic disorders are characterized by both positive symptoms(hallucinations, delusions)and negative symptoms(emotional blunting, anhedonia)that impair daily functioning. While antipsychotic drugs and psychological interventions are effective when addressing positive symptoms, treatment of negative symptoms remains an ongoing challenge.Mindfulness-based interventions(MBIs)have been shown to reduce negative psychotic symptoms. However,as negative psychotic symptoms are assessed as a sole entity rather than a sum of manifestations, the effect of MBIs remains unclear.AIM To examine the effects of MBI in addition to integrated rehabilitation treatment(IRT)for people experiencing psychosis on each of the negative psychotic symptoms.METHODS A randomized controlled clinical trial with preintervention and postintervention measures was designed. The main outcome variable was negative psychotic symptoms assessed through the seven subscales of the Spanish version of the positive and negative syndrome scale.Data were analyzed using a repeated measures analysis of variance and reliable change index calculation.RESULTS There were no statistical differences between groups at the preintervention assessment.Statistically significant differences were found after MBI for the time in emotional withdrawal(F=37.75,P<0.001,η2=0.437)and social withdrawal(F=37.75,P<0.001,η2=0.437).CONCLUSION MBI added to IRT reduced the lack of interest and involvement with affective commitment to daily life activities, and interest and engagement in social activities increased. These negative psychotic symptoms were not improved by IRT alone. 展开更多

Cancer significantly impacts patients'physical and mental health, leading to a wide range of effects from physical pain to psychological issues such as anxiety and depression, severely diminishing their quality of life.As an emerging psychosomatic intervention, mindfulness interventions have gained increasing attention. This scoping review systematically searches and filters relevant literature, covering databases from their inception to January 2025,aiming to comprehensively outline the application, research characteristics, and main outcomes of mindfulness interventions in cancer recovery. We employed the Arksey and O'Malley framework, utilizing electronic databases and manual searches to rigorously select studies and extract key data. Results indicate that mindfulness interventions show broad potential in improving cancer patients'mental health, physical symptoms, and quality of life, despite the heterogeneity of the evidence.Future research should focus on higher-quality randomized controlled trials to explore different intervention modalities and long-term effects and to analyze their underlying mechanisms. This paper particularly highlights the advancements in Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery, providing valuable references for clinical practice. 展开更多

This study examined the relationships among workplace spirituality, mindfulness, mental well-being,and organizational commitment in professional female dancers.A total of 424 dancers from the United States participated in the survey.Structural equation modeling indicated that workplace spirituality was positively associated with both mental well-being and organizational commitment, whereas mindfulness was significantly related only to organizational commitment.Mental well-being was a significant predictor of organizational commitment and mediated the relationship between workplace spirituality and organizational commitment, but not between mindfulness and commitment. These results suggest that workplace spirituality functions as a psychological resource that enhances emotional health and strengthens organizational engagement.Thesefindings are consistent with self-determination theory, highlighting the role of value congruence and intrinsic purpose in sustaining motivation in high-performance contexts. Moreover, the studyfindings underscore the importance of fostering spiritually supportive work environments to promote psychological well-being and long-term organizational commitment. 展开更多

Background:considering the significant issue of learning burnout among university students,it is essential to investigate the connection between mindfulness and learning burnout. This systematic review and metaanalysis sought to thoroughly examine the direct and indirect relationships betweenmindfulness and learning burnout. Methods:a comprehensive literature search was conducted in Scopus,Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases until 07 July 2024.A comprehensive literature review analysis of 19 articles was included, which identified three dimensions of learning burnout:emotions, behaviors, and outcomes, determined the indirect and direct relationships between mindfulness and learning burnout, and outlined the indirect relationship between mindfulness and learning burnout. This meta-analysis incorporated data from nine studies, encompassing a total of 5227 university students experiencing learning burnout. Results:the findings revealed a significant negative correlation between mindfulness and learning burnout, with a correlation coefficient of r=-0.396,(98.6%CI[-0.521,-0.272]).Additionally,a notable negative relationship was observed between mindfulness and emotional exhaustion, characterized by a correlation coefficient of r=-0.281,(98.0%CI[-0.438,-0.123]).It also found that mindfulness indirectly influenced learning burnout by other factors(such as self-efficacy,social support, and so on). However, the empirical analysis of the indirect relationship is not supported by sufficient meta-data.Conclusion:this study indicates that there is a significant and negative direct relationship or some indirect correlation between learning burnout and mindfulness, which may affect learning burnout through internal and external factors. These results also highlight the urgent need for a more in-depth exploration of the indirect mechanisms influencing the relationship between mindfulness and learning burnout. 展开更多

Background:Foreign Language Anxiety(FLA)represents a substantial affective barrier that undermines cognitive performance, motivation, and retention in language learners.Emerging evidence highlights mindfulness-based interventions as promising strategies for enhancing emotional regulation and reducing anxiety across educational contexts. This review synthesizes current research on mindfulness as a psychological intervention, aims to evaluate its efficacy in alleviating FLA,and discusses its broader implications for health-focused educational policy and practice. Methods:Following PRISMA guidelines,we systematically reviewed studies examining the relationships between mindfulness and FLA.Our search of four major databases(November 2023)initially identified 346 articles using terms like“mindfulness AND language anxiety.”After screening,14 studies met our criteria:(1)empirical research in English on mindfulness-FLA relationships;(2)no publication date restrictions. Two independent reviewers selected studies, excluding two due to methodological limitations. We conducted a narrative synthesis given the study heterogeneity(9 correlational and 5 intervention studies).Results:9 non-intervention studies demonstrated that mindfulness is negatively associated with FLA,with 3 studies highlighting the mediating roles of self-efficacy and resilience.5 intervention studies reported inconsistent results regarding the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions in reducing FLA.Conclusions:The findings suggest that while mindfulness holds promise as a tool to address FLA,its mechanisms and effectiveness require further investigation. This study underscores the need for rigorous research, including Randomized Controlled Trials(RCTs),to inform evidence-based integration of mindfulness into foreign language curricula. For educational policymakers and practitioners, these insights highlight the importance of adopting mindfulness interventions cautiously, ensuring they are tailored to students’needs and supported by evidence. 展开更多

Background:Community-based first responders face high levels of workplace stressors that can pro-foundly impact their physical and mental health.Mindfulness-based interventions have shown promise in decreasing stress and increasing psychological resilience;however, implementation is difficult due to unpredictability of the job, department culture, and generational preferences. The objective of this qualitative study was to identify and enhance understanding of the specific needs and potential barriers and facilitators for the implementation of mindfulness-based programming for community-based first responders. Methods:A phenomenological qualitative study design was used to gain insights into the lived experiences of first responders and elicit perceptions regarding barriers and facilitators for engaging in mindfulness activities.During virtual semi-structured interviews, eleven career firefighters and emergency medical service(EMS)providers offered feedback relative to worksite mindfulness practices, and the use of a stress reduction smartphone application. The Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research was used to guide the analysis relative to barriers and facilitators of implementation success and sustainability. Results:First responders expressed openness to mindfulness-based interventions and a smartphone app that would provide stress reduction content, however, they were adamant that programming needed to be accessible and easily integrated into their workday. They also reinforced that organizational culture and leadership support for their health and well-being were overarching factors essential for implementation success. Conclusions:First responders were supportive of evidence-based mindfulness practices, optimally developed and/or facilitated by someone with intimate knowledge of their unique work environments and challenges.Organizational culture and leadership support were essential for implementation success and sustainability. 展开更多
