Metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)is a culture-independent technique that directly extracts and sequences all nucleic acids from clinical specimens.By leveraging high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatic analysis,it characterizes the entire microbial landscape,including bacteria,fungi,viruses,and parasites.This approach significantly broadens detection coverage,improves sensitivity,and reduces turnaround time compared with conventional diagnostic methods.Since its initial application to suspected infectious uveitis by Doan et al.in 2006,mNGS has been increasingly integrated into ophthalmic practice to facilitate pathogen identification or exclusion[1]. 展开更多
