Multi-Phase Modeling for Vulnerability Detection & Patch Management: An Analysis Using Numerical Methods

Software systems are vulnerable to security breaches as they expand in complexity and functionality.The confidentiality,integrity,and availability of data are gravely threatened by flaws in a system’s design,implementation,or configuration.To guarantee the durability&robustness of the software,vulnerability identification and fixation have become crucial areas of focus for developers,cybersecurity experts and industries.This paper presents a thorough multi-phase mathematical model for efficient patch management and vulnerability detection.To uniquely model these processes,the model incorporated the notion of the learning phenomenon in describing vulnerability fixation using a logistic learning function.Furthermore,the authors have used numerical methods to approximate the solution of the proposed framework where an analytical solution is difficult to attain.The suggested systematic architecture has been demonstrated through statistical analysis using patch datasets,which offers a solid basis for the research conclusions.According to computational research,learning dynamics improves security response and results in more effective vulnerability management.The suggested model offers a systematic approach to proactive vulnerability mitigation and has important uses in risk assessment,software maintenance,and cybersecurity.This study helps create more robust software systems by increasing patch management effectiveness,which benefits developers,cybersecurity experts,and sectors looking to reduce security threats in a growing digital world. 展开更多

With the development of the Semantic Web,the number of ontologies grows exponentially and the semantic relationships between ontologies become more and more complex,understanding the true semantics of specific terms or concepts in an ontology is crucial for the matching task.At present,the main challenges facing ontology matching tasks based on representation learning methods are how to improve the embedding quality of ontology knowledge and how to integrate multiple features of ontology efficiently.Therefore,we propose an Ontology Matching Method Based on the Gated Graph Attention Model(OM-GGAT).Firstly,the semantic knowledge related to concepts in the ontology is encoded into vectors using the OWL2Vec^(*)method,and the relevant path information from the root node to the concept is embedded to understand better the true meaning of the concept itself and the relationship between concepts.Secondly,the ontology is transformed into the corresponding graph structure according to the semantic relation.Then,when extracting the features of the ontology graph nodes,different attention weights are assigned to each adjacent node of the central concept with the help of the attention mechanism idea.Finally,gated networks are designed to further fuse semantic and structural embedding representations efficiently.To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,comparative experiments on matching tasks were carried out on public datasets.The results show that the OM-GGAT model can effectively improve the efficiency of ontology matching. 展开更多

Data matching and association based on the arc-segment difference method

In response to the issue of fuzzy matching and association when optical observation data are matched with the orbital elements in a catalog database,this paper proposes a matching and association strategy based on the arcsegment difference method.First,a matching error threshold is set to match the observation data with the known catalog database.Second,the matching results for the same day are sorted on the basis of target identity and observation residuals.Different matching error thresholds and arc-segment dynamic association thresholds are then applied to categorize the observation residuals of the same target across different arc-segments,yielding matching results under various thresholds.Finally,the orbital residual is computed through orbit determination(OD),and the positional error is derived by comparing the OD results with the orbit track from the catalog database.The appropriate matching error threshold is then selected on the basis of these results,leading to the final matching and association of the fuzzy correlation data.Experimental results showed that the correct matching rate for data arc-segments is 92.34% when the matching error threshold is set to 720″,with the arc-segment difference method processing the results of an average matching rate of 97.62% within 8 days.The remaining 5.28% of the fuzzy correlation data are correctly matched and associated,enabling identification of orbital maneuver targets through further processing and analysis.This method substantially enhances the efficiency and accuracy of space target cataloging,offering robust technical support for dynamic maintenance of the space target database. 展开更多

The theoretical and experimental results show that the buckling loads decrease as the depth or width of the surface notches increase; when the stacking sequence of the laminated strips is [0°/0°/+ θ/-θ/0°/0°/+θ/-θ] s , the buckling load decrease as θ increases. Among the most basic challenges of hydrology are the prediction and quantification of catchment surface runoff. The runoff curve number (CN) is a key factor in determining runoff in the SCS (Soil Conservation Service) based hydrologic modeling method. The traditional SCS-CN method for calculating the composite curve number is very tedious and consumes a major portion of the hydrologic modeling time. Therefore, geographic information systems (G/S) are now being used in combination with the SCS-CN method. This paper assesses the modeling of flow in West Bank catchments using the GIS-based SCS-CN method. The West Bank, Palestine, is characterized as an arid to semi-arid region with annual rainfall depths ranging between 100 mm in the vicinity of the Jordan River to 700 mm in the mountains extending across the central parts of the region. The estimated composite curve number for the entire West Bank is about 50 assuming dry conditions. This paper clearly demonstrates that the integration of GIS with the SCS-CN method provides a powerful tool for estimating runoff volumes in West Bank catchments, representing arid to semi-arid catchments of Palestine. 展开更多

Similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing partial differential equations into a kind of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The nonlinear prob- lem is solved by using the successive Taylor series linearization method (STSLM). The computations for velocity components are carried out for the emerging parameters. A new definition of stress intensity factor for a perpendicular interfacial V-notch of bi-material was put forward. The effects of shear modulus and Poisson's ratio of the matrix material and attaching material on eigen-values were analyzed. A generalized expression for calculating/(i of the perpendicular V-notch of bi-materials was obtained by means of stress extrapolation. Effects of notch depth, notch angle and Poisson's ratio of materials on the singular stress field near the tip of the V-notch were analyzed systematically with numerical simulations. As an example, a finite plate with double edge notches under uniaxial uniform tension was calculated by the method presented and the influence of the notch angle and Poisson's ratio on the stress singularity near the tip of notch was obtained. 展开更多

Recently, with the increasing density and arithmetic cores, field programmable gate array(FPGA) has become an attractive alternative to the acceleration of scientific computation. This paper aims to accelerate Davidon-Fletcher-Powell quasi-Newton(DFP-QN) method by proposing a customized and pipelined hardware implementation on FPGAs. Experimental results demonstrate that compared with a software implementation, a speed-up of up to 17 times can be achieved by the proposed hardware implementation. 展开更多

This article presents a numerical solution for the flow of a Newtonian fluid over an impermeable stretching sheet embedded in a porous medium with the power law surface velocity and variable thickness in the presence of thermal radiation. The flow is caused by non-linear stretching of a sheet. Thermal conductivity of the fluid is assumed to vary linearly with temperature. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are transformed into a system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with appropriate boundary conditions for various physical parameters. The remaining system of ODEs is solved numerically using a differential transformation method (DTM). The effects of the porous parameter, the wall thickness parameter, the radiation parameter, the thermal conductivity parameter, and the Prandtl number on the flow and temperature profiles are presented. Moreover, the local skin-friction and the Nusselt numbers are presented. Comparison of the obtained numerical results is made with previously published results in some special cases, with good agreement. The results obtained in this paper confirm the idea that DTM is a powerful mathematical tool and can be applied to a large class of linear and non-linear problems in different fields of science and engineering. 展开更多

Weight reduction has attracted much attention among ship designers and ship owners.In the present work,based on an improved bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization(BESO) method and surrogate model method,we propose a hybrid optimization method for the structural design optimization of beam-plate structures,which covers three optimization levels:dimension optimization,topology optimization and section optimization.The objective of the proposed optimization method is to minimize the weight of design object under a group of constraints.The kernel optimization procedure(KOP) uses BESO to obtain the optimal topology from a ground structure.To deal with beam-plate structures,the traditional BESO method is improved by using cubic box as the unit cell instead of solid unit to construct periodic lattice structure.In the first optimization level,a series of ground structures are generated based on different dimensional parameter combinations,the KOP is performed to all the ground structures,the response surface model of optimal objective values and dimension parameters is created,and then the optimal dimension parameters can be obtained.In the second optimization level,the optimal topology is obtained by using the KOP according to the optimal dimension parameters.In the third optimization level,response surface method(RSM) is used to determine the section parameters.The proposed method is applied to a hatch cover structure design.The locations and shapes of all the structural members are determined from an oversized ground structure.The results show that the proposed method leads to a greater weight saving,compared with the original design and genetic algorithm(GA) based optimization results. 展开更多

[Method] N and P intercepting project construction of the ecological ditches and pond in Zhaiji Village, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City as research object, by repairing 1 834 m3 of original drainage ditches, newly excavating 6 800 m2 of ecological main ditches and 6 000 m2 of artificial purification ecological pond, etc., runoff emission load in real control area of the project was counted. [Result] Annual net loads of the runoff emission for TN and TP were respectively 2 552.22 and 95.00 kg in 33.3 hm2 of farmland. Annual runoff intercepting loads of TN and TP were respectively 1 225.07 and 50.35 kg in ditches. Annual runoff intercepting loads of TN and TP were respectively 1 327.15 and 44.65 kg in ecological pond. In effluent, TN concentration was 6.32 mg/L and was smaller than 15 mg/L. TP concentration was 0.25 mg/L and was smaller than 0.5 mg/L. They both reached level-one A discharge standard. [Conclusion] The research provided theoretical basis for effective control of the agricultural non-point source pollution in Taihu Lake basin. 展开更多

The distortion caused by residual stresses in thick pre-stretched aluminum plates during machining integrated parts is a common and serious problem. To predict and control the machining distortion, the residual stress distribution in the thick plate must be measured firstly. The modified removal method for measuring residual stress in thick pre-stretched aluminum plates is proposed and the stress-strain relation matrix is deduced by elasticity theory. The residual stress distribution in specimen of 7050T7451 plate is measured by using the method, and measurement results are analyzed and compared with data obtained by other methods. Stiffness-damping matching method of an ECAS system based on LQG control 被引量:9

A novel method of matching stiffness and continuous variable damping of an ECAS(electronically controlled air suspension) based on LQG(linear quadratic Gaussian) control was proposed to simultaneously improve the road-friendliness and ride comfort of a two-axle school bus.Taking account of the suspension nonlinearities and target-height-dependent variation in suspension characteristics,a stiffness model of the ECAS mounted on the drive axle of the bus was developed based on thermodynamics and the key parameters were obtained through field tests.By determining the proper range of the target height for the ECAS of the fully-loaded bus based on the design requirements of vehicle body bounce frequency,the control algorithm of the target suspension height(i.e.,stiffness) was derived according to driving speed and road roughness.Taking account of the nonlinearities of a continuous variable semi-active damper,the damping force was obtained through the subtraction of the air spring force from the optimum integrated suspension force,which was calculated based on LQG control.Finally,a GA(genetic algorithm)-based matching method between stepped variable damping and stiffness was employed as a benchmark to evaluate the effectiveness of the LQG-based matching method.Simulation results indicate that compared with the GA-based matching method,both dynamic tire force and vehicle body vertical acceleration responses are markedly reduced around the vehicle body bounce frequency employing the LQG-based matching method,with peak values of the dynamic tire force PSD(power spectral density) decreased by 73.6%,60.8% and 71.9% in the three cases,and corresponding reduction are 71.3%,59.4% and 68.2% for the vehicle body vertical acceleration.A strong robustness to variation of driving speed and road roughness is also observed for the LQG-based matching method. 展开更多

In this study, a reliable algorithm to develop approximate solutions for the problem of fluid flow over a stretching or shrinking sheet is proposed. It is depicted that the differential transform method (DTM) solutions are only valid for small values of the independent variable. The DTM solutions diverge for some differential equations that extremely have nonlinear behaviors or have boundary-conditions at infinity. For this reason the governing boundary-layer equations are solved by the Multi-step Differential Transform Method (MDTM). The main advantage of this method is that it can be applied directly to nonlinear differential equations without requiring linearization, discretization, or perturbation. It is a semi analytical-numerical technique that formulizes Taylor series in a very different manner. By applying the MDTM the interval of convergence for the series solution is increased. The MDTM is treated as an algorithm in a sequence of intervals for finding accurate approximate solutions for systems of differential equations. It is predicted that the MDTM can be applied to a wide range of engineering applications. 展开更多

The incompressible two-phase flows are simulated using combination of an etching multiblock method and a diffuse interface (DI) model, particularly in the com- plex domain that can be decomposed into multiple rectangular subdomains. The etching multiblock method allows natural communications between the connected subdomains and the efficient parallel computation. The DI model can consider two-phase flows with a large density ratio, and simulate the flows with the moving contact line (MCL) when a geometric formulation of the MCL model is included. Therefore, combination of the etch- ing method and the DI model has potential to deal with a variety of two-phase flows in industrial applications. The performance is examined through a series of numerical exper- iments. The convergence of the etching method is firstly tested by simulating single-phase flows past a square cylinder, and the method for the multiphase flow simulation is vali- dated by investing drops dripping from a pore. The numerical results are compared with either those from other researchers or experimental data. Good agreement is achieved. The method is also used to investigate the impact of a droplet on a grooved substrate and droplet generation in flow focusing devices. 展开更多

FIB Secondary Etching Method for Fabrication of Fine CNT Forest Metamaterials 被引量:1

Anisotropic materials, like carbon nanotubes(CNTs), are the perfect substitutes to overcome the limitations of conventional metamaterials; however, the successful fabrication of CNT forest metamaterial structures is still very challenging. In this study, a new method utilizing a focused ion beam(FIB) with additional secondary etching is presented, which can obtain uniform and fine patterning of CNT forest nanostructures for metamaterials and ranging in sizes from hundreds of nanometers to several micrometers. The influence of the FIB processing parameters on the morphology of the catalyst surface and the growth of the CNT forest was investigated, including the removal of redeposited material,decreasing the average surface roughness(from 0.45 to 0.15 nm), and a decrease in the thickness of the Fe catalyst.The results showed that the combination of FIB patterning and secondary etching enabled the growth of highly aligned, highdensity CNT forest metamaterials. The improvement in the quality of single-walled CNTs(SWNTs), defined by the very high G/D peak ratio intensity of 10.47, demonstrated successful fine patterning of CNT forest for the first time. With a FIB patterning depth of 10 nm and a secondary etching of 0.5 nm, a minimum size of 150 nm of CNT forest metamaterials was achieved. The development of the FIB secondary etching method enabled for the first time, the fabrication of SWNT forest metamaterials for the optical and infrared regime, for future applications, e.g., in superlenses, antennas,or thermal metamaterials. 展开更多
