In this paper,a novel method for investigating the particle-crushing behavior of breeding particles in a fusion blanket is proposed.The fractal theory and Weibull distribution are combined to establish a theoretical model,and its validity was verified using a simple impact test.A crushable discrete element method(DEM)framework is built based on the previously established theoretical model.The tensile strength,which considers the fractal theory,size effect,and Weibull variation,was assigned to each generated particle.The assigned strength is then used for crush detection by comparing it with its maximum tensile stress.Mass conservation is ensured by inserting a series of sub-particles whose total mass was equal to the quality loss.Based on the crushable DEM framework,a numerical simulation of the crushing behavior of a pebble bed with hollow cylindrical geometry under a uniaxial compression test was performed.The results of this investigation showed that the particle withstands the external load by contact and sliding at the beginning of the compression process,and the results confirmed that crushing can be considered an important method of resisting the increasing external load.A relatively regular particle arrangement aids in resisting the load and reduces the occurrence of particle crushing.However,a limit exists to the promotion of resistance.When the strain increases beyond this limit,the distribution of the crushing position tends to be isotropic over the entire pebble bed.The theoretical model and crushable DEM framework provide a new method for exploring the pebble bed in a fusion reactor,considering particle crushing. 展开更多

Effective partitioning is crucial for enabling parallel restoration of power systems after blackouts.This paper proposes a novel partitioning method based on deep reinforcement learning.First,the partitioning decision process is formulated as a Markov decision process(MDP)model to maximize the modularity.Corresponding key partitioning constraints on parallel restoration are considered.Second,based on the partitioning objective and constraints,the reward function of the partitioning MDP model is set by adopting a relative deviation normalization scheme to reduce mutual interference between the reward and penalty in the reward function.The soft bonus scaling mechanism is introduced to mitigate overestimation caused by abrupt jumps in the reward.Then,the deep Q network method is applied to solve the partitioning MDP model and generate partitioning schemes.Two experience replay buffers are employed to speed up the training process of the method.Finally,case studies on the IEEE 39-bus test system demonstrate that the proposed method can generate a high-modularity partitioning result that meets all key partitioning constraints,thereby improving the parallelism and reliability of the restoration process.Moreover,simulation results demonstrate that an appropriate discount factor is crucial for ensuring both the convergence speed and the stability of the partitioning training. 展开更多

The application of nitrogen fertilizers in agricultural fields can lead to the release of nitrogen-containing gases(NCGs),such as NO_(x),NH_(3) and N_(2)O,which can significantly impact regional atmospheric environment and con-tribute to global climate change.However,there remain considerable research gaps in the accurate measurement of NCGs emissions from agricultural fields,hindering the development of effective emission reduction strategies.We improved an open-top dynamic chambers(OTDCs)system and evaluated the performance by comparing the measured and given fluxes of the NCGs.The results showed that the measured fluxes of NO,N_(2)O and NH_(3)were 1%,2%and 7%lower than the given fluxes,respectively.For the determination of NH_(3) concentration,we employed a stripping coil-ion chromatograph(SC-IC)analytical technique,which demonstrated an absorption efficiency for atmospheric NH_(3) exceeding 96.1%across sampling durations of 6 to 60 min.In the summer maize season,we utilized the OTDCs system to measure the exchange fluxes of NO,NH_(3),and N_(2)O from the soil in the North China Plain.Substantial emissions of NO,NH_(3) and N_(2)O were recorded following fertilization,with peaks of 107,309,1239 ng N/(m^(2)·s),respectively.Notably,significant NCGs emissions were observed following sus-tained heavy rainfall one month after fertilization,particularly with NH_(3) peak being 4.5 times higher than that observed immediately after fertilization.Our results demonstrate that the OTDCs system accurately reflects the emission characteristics of soil NCGs and meets the requirements for long-term and continuous flux observation. 展开更多

Marine thin plates are susceptible to welding deformation owing to their low structural stiffness.Therefore,the efficient and accurate prediction of welding deformation is essential for improving welding quality.The traditional thermal elastic-plastic finite element method(TEP-FEM)can accurately predict welding deformation.However,its efficiency is low because of the complex nonlinear transient computation,making it difficult to meet the needs of rapid engineering evaluation.To address this challenge,this study proposes an efficient prediction method for welding deformation in marine thin plate butt welds.This method is based on the coupled temperature gradient-thermal strain method(TG-TSM)that integrates inherent strain theory with a shell element finite element model.The proposed method first extracts the distribution pattern and characteristic value of welding-induced inherent strain through TEP-FEM analysis.This strain is then converted into the equivalent thermal load applied to the shell element model for rapid computation.The proposed method-particularly,the gradual temperature gradient-thermal strain method(GTG-TSM)-achieved improved computational efficiency and consistent precision.Furthermore,the proposed method required much less computation time than the traditional TEP-FEM.Thus,this study lays the foundation for future prediction of welding deformation in more complex marine thin plates. 展开更多

Precision and trueness of a method for determing antimony content in groundwater using hydride generation-atomic fluorescence spectrometry

At present,there is currently a lack of unified standard methods for the determination of antimony content in groundwater in China.The precision and trueness of related detection technologies have not yet been systematically and quantitatively evaluated,which limits the effective implementation of environmental monitoring.In response to this key technical gap,this study aimed to establish a standardized method for determining antimony in groundwater using Hydride Generation–Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry(HG-AFS).Ten laboratories participated in inter-laboratory collaborative tests,and the statistical analysis of the test data was carried out in strict accordance with the technical specifications of GB/T 6379.2—2004 and GB/T 6379.4—2006.The consistency and outliers of the data were tested by Mandel's h and k statistics,the Grubbs test and the Cochran test,and the outliers were removed to optimize the data,thereby significantly improving the reliability and accuracy.Based on the optimized data,parameters such as the repeatability limit(r),reproducibility limit(R),and method bias value(δ)were determined,and the trueness of the method was statistically evaluated.At the same time,precision-function relationships were established,and all results met the requirements.The results show that the lower the antimony content,the lower the repeatability limit(r)and reproducibility limit(R),indicating that the measurement error mainly originates from the detection limit of the method and instrument sensitivity.Therefore,improving the instrument sensitivity and reducing the detection limit are the keys to controlling the analytical error and improving precision.This study provides reliable data support and a solid technical foundation for the establishment and evaluation of standardized methods for the determination of antimony content in groundwater. 展开更多

In this study, we have used four methods to investigate the start of the growing season (SGS) on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) from 1982 to 2012, using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data obtained from Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies (GIMSS, 1982-2006) and SPOT VEGETATION (SPOT-VGT, 1999-2012). SGS values esti- mated using the four methods show similar spatial patterns along latitudinal or altitudinal gradients, but with significant variations in the SGS dates. The largest discrepancies are mainly found in the regions with the highest or the lowest vegetation coverage. Between 1982 and 1998, the SGS values derived from the four methods all display an advancing trend, however, according to the more recent SPOT VGT data (1999-2012), there is no continu- ously advancing trend of SGS on the TP. Analysis of the correlation between the SGS values derived from GIMMS and SPOT between 1999 and 2006 demonstrates consistency in the tendency with regard both to the data sources and to the four analysis methods used. Com- pared with other methods, the greatest consistency between the in situ data and the SGS values retrieved is obtained with Method 3 (Threshold of NDVI ratio). To avoid error, in a vast region with diverse vegetation types and physical environments, it is critical to know the seasonal change characteristics of the different vegetation types, particularly in areas with sparse grassland or evergreen forest. 展开更多

Control Moment Gyroscope(CMG) is an effective candidate for agile satellites and large spacecraft attitude control because of its powerful torque amplification capability. The most serious situation, however, in using CMG is the inherent geometric singularity problem, where there's no torque output along a particular direction. Space expansion method has been proposed in this work for the singularity analysis. Based on inverse mapping transformation, an expanded Jacobian matrix which is a full rank square matrix is obtained. The singular angle sets of the 3-parallel cluster and pyramid cluster are distinguished using space expansion method. An effective hybrid steering strategy, able to deal with the elliptic singularity, is further proposed. Simulation results demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed steering logic compared to the generalized singular robust logic and pseudo inverse logic in terms of energy consumption and torque error. 展开更多

Machine learning has been widely used for solving partial differential equations(PDEs)in recent years,among which the random feature method(RFM)exhibits spectral accuracy and can compete with traditional solvers in terms of both accuracy and efficiency.Potentially,the optimization problem in the RFM is more difficult to solve than those that arise in traditional methods.Unlike the broader machine-learning research,which frequently targets tasks within the low-precision regime,our study focuses on the high-precision regime crucial for solving PDEs.In this work,we study this problem from the following aspects:(i)we analyze the coeffcient matrix that arises in the RFM by studying the distribution of singular values;(ii)we investigate whether the continuous training causes the overfitting issue;(ii)we test direct and iterative methods as well as randomized methods for solving the optimization problem.Based on these results,we find that direct methods are superior to other methods if memory is not an issue,while iterative methods typically have low accuracy and can be improved by preconditioning to some extent. 展开更多

Comparison of TEC prediction methods in mid-latitudes with GIM maps

There are many long-term and short-term prediction methods of Total Electron Content(TEC)that need to be tested for each specific region.Recently,much attention has been paid to testing TEC models in high-,low-latitude and equatorial regions.This paper compares the TEC prediction methods in the midlatitude zone according to the data of the Juliusruh,Rostov,Manzhouli stations in 2008 and 2015.For a long-term prediction,the IRI-Plas and Ne Quick models are compared with the Global Ionospheric Maps(GIM)presented by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory(JPL)and the Technical University of Catalonia(UPC).For a short-term prediction,the Standard Persistence Model(SPM)method,a 27 day median model,and the proposed short-term prediction method are compared for one day ahead.It is shown that for all stations the IRI-Plas model provides better compliance with GIM maps than the Ne Quick model irrespective of a solar activity level.An average absolute error lays in the range of 3 e3.5 TECU,relative root square mean(RMS)error in the range of 22 e27%in 2015 and 1.7 e2 TECU,20 e25%in 2008.For the Ne Quick model,these estimates were 6.7 e8.2 TECU and 42 e45%in 2015 and 2.2 e3.6 TECU,30 e37%in2008.For the short-term forecast,the best results were obtained by the SPM method with an average absolute error in the range of 1.95 e2.15 TECU in 2015 and 0.59 e0.98 TECU in 2008,a relative RMS error in the range of 17 e21%in 2015,11.5 e15%in 2008.For the proposed short-term prediction method,these errors were 2.04 e2.2 TECU and 12 e14%in 2015 and 0.7 e1.0 TECU,7 e11%in 2008.Using medians,the errors were 3.1 e3.4 TECU and 17 e21%in 2015 and 1.0 e1.3 TECU,10 e15%in 2008.The dependence of results on the Dst-index was obtained. 展开更多

Three-dimensional rock fracture induced by blasting is a highly complex problem and has received considerable attention in geotechnical engineering.The material point method is firstly applied to treat this challenging task.Some inherent weaknesses can be overcome by coupling the generalized interpolation material point(GIMP)and the convected particle domain interpolation technique(CPDI).For the media in the borehole,unchanged GIMP-type particles are used to guarantee a homogenous blast pressure.CPDITetrahedron type particles are employed to avoid the fake numerical fracture near the borehole for the rock material.A blasting experiment using three-dimensional single-borehole rock was simulated to examine the applicability of the coupled model under realistic loading and boundary conditions.A good agreement was achieved between the simulation and experimental results.Moreover,the mechanism of three-dimensional rock fracture was analyzed.It was concluded that rock particle size and material parameters play an important role in rock damage.The reflected tensile waves cause severe damage in the lower part of the model.Rayleigh waves occur on the top face of the rock model to induce a hoop failure band. 展开更多

This article presents a micro-structure tensor enhanced elasto-plastic finite element(FE)method to address strength anisotropy in three-dimensional(3D)soil slope stability analysis.The gravity increase method(GIM)is employed to analyze the stability of 3D anisotropic soil slopes.The accuracy of the proposed method is first verified against the data in the literature.We then simulate the 3D soil slope with a straight slope surface and the convex and concave slope surfaces with a 90turning corner to study the 3D effect on slope stability and the failure mechanism under anisotropy conditions.Based on our numerical results,the end effect significantly impacts the failure mechanism and safety factor.Anisotropy degree notably affects the safety factor,with higher degrees leading to deeper landslides.For concave slopes,they can be approximated by straight slopes with suitable boundary conditions to assess their stability.Furthermore,a case study of the Saint-Alban test embankment A in Quebec,Canada,is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed FE model. 展开更多

融合GIS-GIM与DETR网络的三维电网建模及校验方法

【目的】随着电网规模不断扩大和结构日益复杂,传统电网建模和可视化方法逐渐暴露出诸多问题,如建模准确度难以满足复杂电网结构的精细化展示需求、受限于应用场景而无法有效应对多样化业务需求,且建模普遍缺乏科学有效的校验机制,难以... 【目的】随着电网规模不断扩大和结构日益复杂,传统电网建模和可视化方法逐渐暴露出诸多问题,如建模准确度难以满足复杂电网结构的精细化展示需求、受限于应用场景而无法有效应对多样化业务需求,且建模普遍缺乏科学有效的校验机制,难以保障结果的准确性和可靠性。为解决这些问题,提出了一种融合GIS-GIM与DETR网络的三维电网建模及校验方法,以实现高准确度的三维电网建模,并建立有效的校验体系,为电网规划、运维与管理提供坚实的数据基础和可靠的决策支持。【方法】首先,将电网信息模型(GIM)集成到地理信息系统(GIS)中,利用GIS强大的地理空间分析与展示能力,结合GIM对电网设备和拓扑结构的详细描述,实现更宏观、更全面的三维电网建模,从地理空间维度直观呈现电网的整体布局与设备分布。其次,对DETR网络进行改进,通过优化网络结构、调整参数设置以及采用更有效的训练策略,使其能够更准确地对三维电网设备进行检测和分类。在训练过程中,收集大量的三维电网设备数据,构建丰富多样的数据集,并对数据进行标注和预处理,以提高模型的泛化能力。最后,将改进后的DETR网络应用于三维电网建模过程中,对建模结果中所涉及的设备进行逐一检测和分类,确保设备信息的准确性,从而保障整个建模结果的准确性。【结果】为验证本文方法的有效性,对基于3座新建变电站的100组设备数据展开实验分析。实验结果显示,相较于传统建模方法,融合GIS-GIM与DETR网络的三维电网建模方法在建模准确性上有显著提升,能够更精准地还原电网设备的空间位置、结构形态以及设备间的连接关系。在建模结果校验方面,校验网络展现出良好性能,其准确率达到93.14%,表明该方法能够有效检测出建模过程中可能存在的错误和偏差,确保建模结果的可靠性。【结论】融合GIS-GIM与DETR网络的三维电网建模及校验方法,在提高电网建模准确率和建立有效校验机制方面表现优异,能够满足实际电网建模的高准确度需求。该方法能够为电网的日常运维、故障诊断与抢修等管理工作提供直观、准确的三维可视化信息,为电网规划和管理提供可靠的决策依据,具有重要的理论意义和广阔的应用前景。 展开更多

An analytical variational method for the ground state of the biased quantum Rabi model in the ultra-strong coupling regime is presented. This analytical variational method can be obtained by a unitary transformation or alternatively by assuming the form of the ground state wave function. The key of the method is to introduce a variational parameter λ,which can be determined by minimizing the energy functional. Using this method, we calculate the physical observables with high accuracy in comparison with the numerical exact ones. Our method evidently improves over the widely used general rotating-wave approximation(GRWA) in both qualitative and quantitative aspects. 展开更多

The solution of many conduction heat transfer problems is found by two-dimensional simplification using the analytical method since different points have different initial temperatures. The temperature at each point of a given element can be analyzed through the Heat Equation that, in some cases, converges to analytical solutions without precision and is far from the real. However, with the application of the Finite Difference Method (FDM), it is possible to solve it numerically in a relatively fast way, providing satisfactory results for the most varied boundary conditions and diverse geometries, characteristics of heat transfer problems by conduction. This study solved two problems inside a plate with and without heat generation involved in temperature distribution. Algorithms were built with the aid of the Matlab programming language, and applied to obtain a numerical solution using the FDM numerical method. The computational and analytical solutions were then compared. Under certain conditions of the parameters involved in the phenomenon of each problem, the numerical method was very efficient for presenting errors less than or equal to 0.003 and 0.03, respectively, for cases without and with heat generation. 展开更多

Modal parameters can accurately characterize the structural dynamic properties and assess the physical state of the structure.Therefore,it is particularly significant to identify the structural modal parameters according to the monitoring data information in the structural health monitoring(SHM)system,so as to provide a scientific basis for structural damage identification and dynamic model modification.In view of this,this paper reviews methods for identifying structural modal parameters under environmental excitation and briefly describes how to identify structural damages based on the derived modal parameters.The paper primarily introduces data-driven modal parameter recognition methods(e.g.,time-domain,frequency-domain,and time-frequency-domain methods,etc.),briefly describes damage identification methods based on the variations of modal parameters(e.g.,natural frequency,modal shapes,and curvature modal shapes,etc.)and modal validation methods(e.g.,Stability Diagram and Modal Assurance Criterion,etc.).The current status of the application of artificial intelligence(AI)methods in the direction of modal parameter recognition and damage identification is further discussed.Based on the pre-vious analysis,the main development trends of structural modal parameter recognition and damage identification methods are given to provide scientific references for the optimized design and functional upgrading of SHM systems. 展开更多

The minimum splicing loss of 0.58 dB is achieved experimentally with this approach, Meanwhile, the power capacity of this splicing joint is also tested with a high power fiber laser. The maximum input power is up to 15 W, only limited by the available power of the laser source. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on thermal splicing between fluoride and silica fibers operating in a high power regime without any complicated ion-assisted deposition process. 展开更多

Study of the Transport Behavior of Multispherical Proppant in Intersecting Fracture Based on Discrete Element Method 被引量:1

To analyze the differences in the transport and distribution of different types of proppants and to address issues such as the short effective support of proppant and poor placement in hydraulically intersecting fractures,this study considered the combined impact of geological-engineering factors on conductivity.Using reservoir production parameters and the discrete elementmethod,multispherical proppants were constructed.Additionally,a 3D fracture model,based on the specified conditions of the L block,employed coupled(Computational Fluid Dynamics)CFD-DEM(Discrete ElementMethod)for joint simulations to quantitatively analyze the transport and placement patterns of multispherical proppants in intersecting fractures.Results indicate that turbulent kinetic energy is an intrinsic factor affecting proppant transport.Moreover,the efficiency of placement and migration distance of low-sphericity quartz sand constructed by the DEM in the main fracture are significantly reduced compared to spherical ceramic proppants,with a 27.7%decrease in the volume fraction of the fracture surface,subsequently affecting the placement concentration and damaging fracture conductivity.Compared to small-angle fractures,controlling artificial and natural fractures to expand at angles of 45°to 60°increases the effective support length by approximately 20.6%.During hydraulic fracturing of gas wells,ensuring the fracture support area and post-closure conductivity can be achieved by controlling the sphericity of proppants and adjusting the perforation direction to control the direction of artificial fractures. 展开更多
