Based on this linear independence theory, a modified limited memory BFGS method is deve loped. Similar to the standard limited memory method, this new method determines the new update by applying the updating formula m times to an initial positive diagonal matrix using the m previous pairs of the change in iteration and gradient. Besides the most recent pair of the change, which guarantees the quadratic termination, the choice of the other ( m -1) pairs of the change in the new method is dependent on the degree of numerical linear independence of previous search directions. In addition, the numerical linear independence theory is further discussed and the computation of the degree of linear independence is simplified. Theoretical and numerical results show that this new modified method improves efficiently the standard limited memory method. 展开更多

In silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon (SONOS) memory and other charge trapping memories, the charge distribution after programming operation has great impact on the devic's characteristics,such as reading,programming/erasing, and reliability. The lateral distribution of injected charges can be measured precisely using the charge pumping method. To improve the precision of the actual measurement, a combination of a constant low voltage method and a constant high voltage method is introduced during the charge pumping testing of the drain side and the source side, respectively. Finally, the electron distribution after channel hot electron programming in SONOS memory is obtained,which is close to the drain side with a width of about 50nm. 展开更多

In order to present the microstructures of dynamic recrystallization(DRX) in different deformation zones of hot extruded NiTi shape memory alloy(SMA) pipe coupling,a simulation approach combining finite element method(FEM) with cellular automaton(CA) was developed and the relationship between the macroscopic field variables and the microscopic internal variables was established.The results show that there exists a great distinction among the microstructures in different zones of pipe coupling because deformation histories of these regions are diverse.Large plastic deformation may result in fine recrystallized grains,whereas the recrystallized grains may grow very substantially if there is a rigid translation during the deformation,even if the final plastic strain is very large.As a consequence,the deformation history has a significant influence on the evolution path of the DRX as well as the final microstructures of the DRX,including the morphology,the mean grain size and the recrystallization fraction. 展开更多

Grain scale plasticity of NiTi shape memory alloy(SMA)during uniaxial compression deformation at 400℃was investigated through two-dimensional crystal plasticity finite element simulation and corresponding analysis based on the obtained orientation data.Stress and strain distributions of the deformed NiTi SMA samples confirm that there exhibits a heterogeneous plastic deformation at grain scale.Statistically stored dislocation(SSD)density and geometrically necessary dislocation(GND)density were further used in order to illuminate the microstructure evolution during uniaxial compression.SSD is responsible for sustaining plastic deformation and it increases along with the increase of plastic strain.GND plays an important role in accommodating compatible deformation between individual grains and thus it is correlated with the misorientation between neighboring grains,namely,a high GND density corresponds to large misorientation between grains and a low GND density corresponds to small misorientation between grains. 展开更多

This work presents a nonlinear finite element method to simulate the macroscopic mechanical responses and the effects of martensite plasticity in a shape memory alloy(SMA)structure.A linear relationship formulation is adopted to express the influence of martensite plasticity on the inverse martensitic phase transition of SMA material.Incorporating with a trigonometric-type phase transition evolution law and an exponential-type plastic flow evolution law,an incremental mechanical model with two internal variables is supposed based on the macroscopic experimental phenomena.A nonlinear finite element equation is formulated and solved by the principle of virtual displacement and Newton-Raphson method respectively.By employing the proposed nonlinear finite element method,the uniform tensile bar and three-point bending beam are simulated and analyzed.Results illustrate that the presented nonlinear finite element method is suitable to act as an effective computational tool for the wide applications based on the SMA material considering the effects of martensite plasticity because all material constants related to the method can be obtained from macroscopic experiments. 展开更多

A novel slow-down set waveform is proposed to improve the set performance and a 1 kb phase change random access memory chip fabricated with a 13nm CMOS technology is implemented to investigate the set performance by different set programming strategies based on this new set pulse. The amplitude difference (I1 - I2) of the set pulse is proved to be a crucial parameter for set programming. We observe and analyze the cell characteristics with different I1 - I2 by means of thermal simulations and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, which reveal that an incomplete set programming will occur when the proposed slow-down pulse is set with an improperly high I1 - I2. This will lead to an amorphous residue in the active region. We also discuss the programming method to avoid the set performance degradations. 展开更多

This paper aims to seek expedited fatigue analysis methods using the infrared self-heating technique.The fatigue analysis of NiTi shape memory alloys is obtained through a hybrid approach:fatigue tests to failure yield relatively shorter fatigue lives,while determining the fatigue limit,normally involving extremely high cycles approaching 107 cycles,is directly achieved via self-heating tests.This methodology significantly reduces testing cycles,costing only a fraction of the several-thousand-cycle tests typically required.The validity of this approach is successfully demonstrated through fatigue testing of 18Ni steel:the entire S–N curve is examined using the traditional fatigue test until a life of up to 10^(7) cycles,and the indicated fatigue limit agrees well with the one directly determined through the self-heating method.Subsequently,this developed approach is applied to the fatigue analysis of shape memory alloys under complex loading,enabling the concurrent estimation of the limits of phase transformation-dominated low-cycle fatigue and high-cycle fatigue in the elastic regime on a single specimen.The results obtained align well with other supporting evidence. 展开更多

To solve the problems of deformation,micro-cracks,and residual tensile stress in laser cladding coatings,the technique of laser cladding with Fe-based memory alloy can be considered.However,the process of in-situ synthesis of Fe-based memory alloy coatings is extremely complex.At present,there is no clear guidance scheme for its preparation process,which limits its promotion and application to some extent.Therefore,in this study,response surface methodology(RSM)was used to model the response surface between the target values and the cladding process parameters.The NSGA-2 algorithm was employed to optimize the process parameters.The results indicate that the composite optimization method consisting of RSM and the NSGA-2 algorithm can establish a more accurate model,with an error of less than 4.5%between the predicted and actual values.Based on this established model,the optimal scheme for process parameters corresponding to different target results can be rapidly obtained.The prepared coating exhibits a uniform structure,with no defects such as pores,cracks,and deformation.The surface roughness and microhardness of the coating are enhanced,the shaping quality of the coating is effectively improved,and the electrochemical corrosion performance of the coating in 3.5%NaCl solution is obviously better than that of the substrate,providing an important guide for engineering applications. 展开更多

As a new attempt, equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) of nickel-titanium shape memory alloy (NiTi SMA) tube was investigated by means of process experiment, finite element method (FEM) and microscopy. NiTi SMA tube with the steel core in it was inserted into the steel can during ECAE of NiTi SMA tube. Based on rigid-viscoplastic FEM, multiple coupled boundary conditions and multiple constitutive models were used for finite element simulation of ECAE of NiTi SMA tube, where the effective stress field, the effective strain field and the velocity field were obtained. Finite element simulation results are in good accordance with the experimental ones. Finite element simulation results reveal that the velocity field shows the minimum value in the corner of NiTi SMA tube, where severe shear deformation occurs. Microstructural observation results reveal that severe plastic deformation leads to a certain grain orientation as well as occurrence of substructures in the grain interior and dynamic recovery occurs during ECAE of NiTi SMA tube. ECAE of NiTi SMA tube provides a new approach to manufacturing ultrafine-grained NiTi SMA tube. 展开更多

As a new attempt,ball spinning was used to manufacture the nickel-titanium shape memory alloy(NiTi SMA) tube at elevated temperature.The NiTi bar with a nominal composition of Ni50.9Ti49.1(mole fraction,%) was solution treated and was used as the original tube blank for ball spinning.Based on the variable temperature field and the constitutive equation,rigid-viscoplastic finite element method(FEM) was applied in order to simulate the ball spinning of NiTi SMA tube.The temperature field,the stress field,the strain field and the load prediction were obtained by means of FEM.FEM results reveal that there is a temperature increase of about 160 ℃ in the principal deformation zone of the spun part.It can be found from the stress fields and the strain fields that the outer wall of NiTi SMA tube is easier to meet the plastic yield criterion than the inner wall,and the plastic deformation zone is caused to be in a three-dimensional compressive stress state.The radial strain and the tangential strain are characterized by the compressive strain,while the axial strain belongs to the tensile strain.The variation of spinning loads with the progression of the ball is of great importance in predicting the stable flow of the spun part. 展开更多

Improved hybrid iterative optimization method for seismic full waveform inversion

In full waveform inversion (FWI), Hessian information of the misfit function is of vital importance for accelerating the convergence of the inversion; however, it usually is not feasible to directly calculate the Hessian matrix and its inverse. Although the limited memory Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (L-BFGS) or Hessian-free inexact Newton (HFN) methods are able to use approximate Hessian information, the information they collect is limited. The two methods can be interlaced because they are able to provide Hessian information for each other; however, the performance of the hybrid iterative method is dependent on the effective switch between the two methods. We have designed a new scheme to realize the dynamic switch between the two methods based on the decrease ratio (DR) of the misfit function (objective function), and we propose a modified hybrid iterative optimization method. In the new scheme, we compare the DR of the two methods for a given computational cost, and choose the method with a faster DR. Using these steps, the modified method always implements the most efficient method. The results of Marmousi and overthrust model testings indicate that the convergence with our modified method is significantly faster than that in the L-BFGS method with no loss of inversion quality. Moreover, our modified outperforms the enriched method by a little speedup of the convergence. It also exhibits better efficiency than the HFN method. 展开更多

充电桩作为电动汽车(EV)的重要充电设备,其能否正常运行直接关系到用户对EV的体验和EV产业的推广。准确预测充电桩的故障率能够有效保障EV充电过程的安全。本文提出了一种长短期记忆网络(LSTM)与嵌入方法(LSTM-EM)相结合的充电桩故障率... 充电桩作为电动汽车(EV)的重要充电设备,其能否正常运行直接关系到用户对EV的体验和EV产业的推广。准确预测充电桩的故障率能够有效保障EV充电过程的安全。本文提出了一种长短期记忆网络(LSTM)与嵌入方法(LSTM-EM)相结合的充电桩故障率预测模型,以捕获充电桩故障特征的长时间序列与多维性的特点,使得模型能够更好地学习不同特征以精准预测故障率。首先基于LSTM学习故障率的时序序列来捕捉序列数据中的时间依赖关系,然后基于嵌入方法将离散的特征映射到连续的向量空间中,最后使用全连接层融合两部分的特征,经过线性激活函数返回最终的预测结果。实验结果表明,提出的方法对问题预测的效果很好,与Transformer、LSTM、循环神经网络(RNN)、卷积神经网络(CNN)-LSTM模型相比,预测结果的对称平均绝对百分比误差(SMAPE)分别降低了48.18%、43.33%、41.69%、37.46%。 展开更多
