Some studies have found significant effect sizes while others have found low and non-significant effect sizes. Television effects scholars have postulated that these mixed results are caused by the inconsistencies of research methodology employed and the inability to control major mediating variables in the studies. The present study is designed with the objectives to overcome these shortcomings. The respondents for this study were 514 students aged between 13 and 18 from 10 schools in the State of Perak, Malaysia. Exploratory data analyses provided evidence that the employed instruments achieved sound psychometric properties. Hypotheses testing suggested that exposure to the Contents of Television Violence (TVCN) did not have a direct relationship with adolescents' aggressive behaviours; instead, Contextual Features of Television Violence (TVCX) totally mediated this relationship. Some other mediating variables then mediated totally and some mediated partially the relationship between TVCX and adolescents' aggressive behaviours. To conclude, this study provides valuable information for parents, the television industry, and the policy makers in recognizing pro-violent and anti-violent features of television violence programmes for Malaysian school-going adolescents. It also provides a new perspective for future studies of television violence in Malaysia.展开更多

This paper uses the SBM-GML index, which includes non-desired outputs, to measure the trend of regional green economic efficiency changes and analyze the impact mechanism and realization path of industrial transformation on green economic efficiency. The research results show that advanced industrial structure has a positive influence on green economic efficiency nationwide, while energy utilization structure and energy utilization efficiency have positive partial intermediary effects in the influence path;industrial structure rationalization is also significantly positively related to green economic efficiency nationwide, and the mediating effect of energy utilization is positive. The impact of industrial transformation on green economic efficiency has regional heterogeneity, and the mediating effect of energy use also differs. Among them, the impact effect in the eastern region is basically consistent with the national sample, but is negative in the central and western regions. This paper proposes countermeasures in terms of adjusting the industrial structure, improving energy efficiency, and perfecting industrial and energy policies, which can provide theoretical and practical references for promoting the transformation and upgrading of regional industrial structure, optimizing energy utilization, and advancing the efficiency of the national and regional green economy.展开更多

However, this paper is from another perspective, based on the social background of high-quality development, the main study is the impact mechanism of urban and rural income gap on the industrial structure, taking the Yangtze River Delta as the main research object, and specifically selecting 22 central cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, which is also one of the highlights of this study. The regression model is constructed by using the intermediary effect, and the four intermediary variables of fiscal expenditure (M1), fixed asset investment (M2), number of patent applications (M3), and total import and export (M4) are selected, which represent the role of the government, fixed asset investment, scientific and technological level and opening-up level, and study and analyze the inherent influence mechanism between each variable. Before doing specific research, I consulted the papers and literature of many other outstanding scholars, among which Cheng Yuhong and Cheng Chi’s “The Influence Mechanism of industrial structure of urban and rural income gap” [1] has great reference value for this paper. According to the research results, under the background of high-quality development in the Yangtze River Delta region, the expansion of the income gap between urban and rural areas will inhibit the upgrading of the industrial structure, so it is necessary to focus on building a new type of urbanization, accelerating the construction of an urban innovation system, optimizing the rural employment structure to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas, and providing impetus for the continuous upgrading of the industrial structure.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Death anxiety(DA)is a prevalent psychological challenge among oncology nurses that affects their emotional well-being and professional competence in coping with death-related situations.Death-related attitudes and resilience are critical factors that may mediate the relationship between DA and coping with death competence(CDC).However, few studies have examined the chain-mediating effect of these factors among Chinese oncology nurses. This study aimed to investigate the association between DA and CDC among Chinese oncology nurses, with a focus on the mediating roles of death attitude and resilience.AIM To investigate the association between DA and CDC among Chinese oncology nurses.using an electronic questionnaire distributed in Wenjuanxing,China. In total,615 valid responses were obtained. The participants completed the Templer death anxiety scale, death attitude profile-revised,Connor-Davidson resilience scale, and coping with death scale.A chain mediation analysis was performed using the PROCESS macro in SPSS to examine the relationships between these variables.RESULTS The findings indicated that DA had a significant direct effect on CDC[effect=0.201,95%confidence interval(CI):0.112-0.322].In addition to this direct effect, three significant indirect pathways were observed:(1)Death attitude(effect=0.118,95%CI:0.056-0.163);(2)Resilience(effect=0.108,95%CI:0.032-0.176);and(3)A sequential mediation pathway involving both death attitude and resilience(effect=0.071,95%CI:0.042-0.123).The total indirect effects of the three mediation paths accounted for 29.7%of the relationship between DA and CDC.CONCLUSION Using a chain mediation model, this study explored the mechanisms linking DA,death attitude, resilience, and CDC among Chinese oncology nurses. These findings highlighted the crucial role of death attitude and resilience in mediating the relationship between DA and CDC.Interventions aimed at fostering adaptive attitudes toward death and enhancing resilience may improve nurses’ability to cope with death-related stressors, ultimately benefiting their psychological well-being and professional competence.
文摘Amidst the unique challenges faced by rural educators is their sense of decent work influenced by levels of social support, career self-efficacy,and marginalization. To investigate these relationships,we surveyed 435 rural school teachers(females=69.32%,mean years teaching experience=13.6,SD=7.7 years). The Structural Equation Modeling results indicated that social support positively predicts teachers’perceptions of decent work.Career self-efficacy mediated the relationship between social support and a higher sense of decent work, while marginalization mediated the relationship such that lower social support predicted lower perceptions of decent work.Career self-efficacy and marginalization also had a sequential mediation relationship:higher social support enhanced career self-efficacy,which in turn reduced marginalization experiences, ultimately improving teachers’perceptions of decent work. These findings align with the predictions of Social Cognitive Career Theory and the Psychology of Working Theory, demonstrating that environmental supports enhance personal psychological resources, reduce marginalization risks, and promote positive work-related outcomes. The study findings highlight the necessity for education departments to improve rural teachers’perceptions of decent work by providing social support to foster positive work experiences for teachers at high risk for marginalization and diminished career self-efficacy.

文摘Internet gaming disorder(IGD)among junior high school students is an increasingly prominent mental health concern. It is important to look for influences behind internet gaming disorder tendency(IGDT)in the junior high school student population. The present study aimed to reveal the explanatory mechanisms underlying the association between parental psychological control(PPC)and internet gaming disorder tendency among junior high school students by testing the mediating role of core self-evaluation(CSE)and the moderating role of intentional self-regulation(ISR).Participants in present study were 735 Chinese junior high school students who completed offline self-report questionnaires on parental psychological control, core self-evaluation,intentional self-regulation,and Internet gaming disorder tendency.Analyses were conducted via mediation and moderated mediation. The results showed that:(1)Parental psychological control was positively related to junior high school students’Internet gaming disorder tendency.Core self-evaluation,and intentional self-regulation were negatively related to junior high school students’Internet gaming disorder tendency,respectively.(2)Core self-evaluation partially mediated the relationship between parental psychological control and junior high school students’Internet gaming disorder tendency.(3)Intentional self-regulation moderated the association between parental psychological control and Internet gaming disorder tendency,as well as the relationships between parental psychological control and core self-evaluation and core self-evaluation and Internet gaming disorder tendency in the mediated model.Based on these findings,we believe that there is a need to weaken parental psychological control, strengthen junior high school students’core self-evaluation and intentional self-regulation,and to recognize the important role of parents as well as their children’s personal positive traits in the healthy development of junior high school students.
文摘This study tested a chain mediation model on whether hopelessness and nostalgia play a mediating role in psychache and suicidal ideation of firefighters.A total of 652 firefighters participated in the survey(male=94.94%;mean age=23.71 years,SD=4.18 years). The firefighters completed the Chinese Revised Psychache Scale(PAS),Beck Hopelessness Scale(BHS),Southampton Nostalgia Scale(SNS),and Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale(CSSRS).The path analysis results indicated that psychache positively predicted suicidal ideation.Hopelessness plays a significant mediating role between psychache and suicidal ideation further strengthening this relationship. In contrast, nostalgia mediates and weakened the relationship between psychache and suicidal ideation.Hopelessness and nostalgia jointly constructed a chain mediating effect between psychache and suicidal ideation, for higher suicidal ideation with higher hopelessness and lower nostalgia. The findings align with the Three-Step Theory of Suicide, which proposes that suicidal ideation results from the combination of pain and hopelessness and that connectedness is a key protective factor against escalating ideation. Therefore, interventions to reduce suicidal ideation in firefighters should aim to enhance their nostalgia, while reducing sense of hopelessness.
文摘Background:Recent scholarly attention has increasingly focused on filial piety beliefs'impact on youth's psychological development. However, the mechanisms by which filial piety indirectly influences adolescent autonomy through depression and well-being remain underexplored. This study aimed to test a sequential mediation model among filial piety beliefs,depression,well-being,and autonomy in Taiwan region of China university students. Methods:A total of 566 Taiwan region of China undergraduate and graduate students, comprising 390 females and 176 males, and including 399 undergraduates and 167 graduate students, were recruited through convenience sampling.Data were collected via an online questionnaire.Validated instruments were employed, including the Filial Piety Scale(FPS),the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D),the Chinese Well-being Inventory(CHI),and the Adolescent Autonomy Scale-Short Form(AAS-SF).Statistical analyses included group comparisons, correlation analyses, and structural equation modeling to examine the hypothesized relationships and mediation effects. Results:The results revealed that filial piety beliefs exerted a significant positive impact on adolescent autonomy, with depression and well-being serving as key mediators in this relationship.A sequential mediation effect was confirmed through structural equation modeling(β=0.052,95%CI[0.028,0.091]),with good model fit indices(x^(2)/df=4.25,RMSEA=0.076,CFI=0.968),supporting the hypothesized pathway from filial piety to autonomy via depression and well-being.In terms of demographic differences, male students showed significantly higher autonomy than females(p<0.001);students from single-parent families reported significantly higher depression levels than those from two-parent families(p<0.05);and graduate students exhibited significantly higher autonomy and well-being than undergraduates(p<0.05).Conclusions:These findings underscore not only the importance of filial piety beliefs for developing youth autonomy but also the critical role that mental health factors, such as depression and well-being,play in this process. The study concludes with a discussion of both theoretical implications and practical recommendations. These include strategies to foster reciprocal filial piety, strengthen parent-child relationships, and promote mental health.Additionally, the study outlines its limitations and proposes directions for future research.

文摘Background:Fundamental internal factors like self-construal and its influence on problematic online game use(POGU)remain underexplored.Hence, this study aims to investigate the effects of independent and interdependent self-construal on POGU,with the mediation of basic psychological needs satisfaction. Methods:The study surveyed 418 Chinese junior high school students(50.24%male;Meanage=12.68,SD=0.65),assessing their levels of self-construal,basic psychological needs satisfaction, and POGU.Aparallelmediationmodelwas tested. Results:The findings showed that autonomy and competence needs satisfaction fully mediated the negative impact of independent self-construal on POGU(B=−0.052,p<0.05;B=−0.094,p<0.01,respectively),while interdependent self-construal and relatedness needs satisfaction did not have a significant effect on POGU(B=0.005,p=0.758).Additionally,while independent self-construal positively correlated with the satisfaction of all three psychological needs, interdependent self-construal only positively associated with relatedness need satisfaction(B=0.152,p<0.001).Conclusions:The study demonstrates that independent self-construal serves as a protective factor against POGU,mediated by autonomy and competence needs satisfaction, while the effects of interdependent self-construal are more complex. These insights highlight the need for tailored interventions that promote adaptive self-construal and psychological needs satisfaction among Chinese adolescents to prevent POGU.
文摘Previous studies on the relationship between exPosure to televised violence and viewers' aggressive behaviours have produced mixed results. It also provides a new perspective for future studies of television violence in Malaysia.

文摘Developing a green economy is key to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This paper proposes countermeasures in terms of adjusting the industrial structure, improving energy efficiency, and perfecting industrial and energy policies, which can provide theoretical and practical references for promoting the transformation and upgrading of regional industrial structure, optimizing energy utilization, and advancing the efficiency of the national and regional green economy.

文摘Background:Adolescents frequently engage in Non-Suicidal Self-Injury(NSSI),with recent trends indicating an increase in this behavior. At the same time,Chinese adolescents have a higher incidence of NSSI than Western adolescents. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the relationship between interparental conflict and NSSI among adolescents within the context of Chinese families. Methods:The research sample comprised 755 senior high school students(46.62%male;age M=16.82,SD=0.94 years)who completed the Interparental Conflict Child Perception Scale(CPIC),Adolescent Self-Injury Behavior Questionnaire(ASHS),Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20(TAS-20),and Scale of Adolescent Resilience(RSCA).Results:Findings suggest that interparental conflict is a significant positive predictor of NSSI(r=0.22,p<0.01).Alexithymia mediates the relation between interparental conflict and NSSI(effect size=0.09,95%CI[0.05,0.13]).Additionally,resilience moderates both the direct relation(β=−0.08,p<0.05)and the latter half of the mediating pathway(β=−0.08,p<0.05)in the moderated mediation model. Conclusion:This study indicates that interparental conflict have an impact on adolescents’NSSI in Chinese families, and alexithymia and resilience play important roles in the relationship. These findings offer valuable guidance for the prevention and intervention efforts targeting NSSI among adolescents in China and in similar family contexts.
文摘Background:With the widespread adoption of synchronous online instruction, concerns have arisen regarding teachers’professional functioning in this new context. While previous studies have extensively explored teacher psychology, the control-value theory(CVT)provides additional insights into teachers’experiences. As limited research has specifically addressed the psychological experiences of primary school teachers in online teaching settings, this study investigated the relationships among teachers’online self-efficacy,anxiety,and engagement through the CVT framework. Methods:This study employed a quantitative research design, conducting a questionnaire survey of 1037 Chinese primary school teachers recruited through convenience and snowball sampling.Exploratory Structural Equation Modelling was first applied to validate the constructs.Subsequently,a structural equation model was developed and tested to examine the relationships between the key variables.A mediation analysis further explored the indirect effect of teacher self-efficacy on engagement through anxiety, consistent with CVT propositions. Results:Structural Equation Modelling results revealed that teachers’self-efficacy was a significant predictor of both anxiety(β=−0.165,p<0.001)and engagement(β=0.707,p<0.001).Anxiety also significantly predicted engagement(β=−0.097,p<0.001).Mediation analysis further demonstrated that anxiety partially mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and engagement(β=0.016).Conclusion:While anxiety can impede teachers’full engagement in online teaching,self-efficacy appears to buffer against anxiety’s negative effects, ultimately enhancing teaching effectiveness. These findings offer valuable insights for improving teachers’online teaching experiences and optimizing educational outcomes in digital environments.

文摘Background:Physical inactivity is a major public health problem worldwide that results in physical and mental health problems. One major issue for physical inactivity is weight stigma(WS),especially perceived WS,which could lead to a tendency to avoid physical activity(PA).To better understand the association between perceived WS and PA,knowledge of the likely mediators in this association such as weight bias internalization(WBI)and psychological distress were investigated in the present study. Methods:Using a two-wave longitudinal study and convenient sampling,388 Taiwan residents participants(55%females;mean age=29.7 years[SD±6.3])completed two surveys six months apart.Body mass index(BMI),Perceived Weight Stigma Scale(PWSS),Weight Bias Internalization Scale(WBIS),Depression,Anxiety,Stress Scale(DASS-21),and Tendency to Avoid Physical Activity and Sport Scale(TAPAS)were assessed. Results:A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 bootstrapping resamples was performed.Perceived WS exerted significant direct effects on WBI(β=0.25;p<0.001),psychological distress(β=0.15;p=0.003),and tendency to avoid PA(β=0.10;p=0.027);WBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA(β=0.47;p<0.001).Standardized indirect effects of WBI and psychological distress on the association between perceived WS and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01,respectively.Conclusion:Given the direct association of perceived WS on the tendency to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this association, interventions addressing perceived WS and WBI may contribute to promoting PA.Therefore, health interventionists(both when planning and executing PA programs)need to consider weight stigmawhen encouraging physical activity.
文摘In the context of global carbon neutrality, new energy vehicle promotion(NEVP)has become an important means of reducing carbon emissions. This paper constructs a theoretical model and uses panel data on NEVP in 21 countries from 2012 to 2018 to empirically examine the green effect of NEVP.The results indicate the following:(1)NEVP significantly reduces greenhouse gases emissions, and the green effect can be transmitted and diffused through a direct path.(2)Replacing fuel-fired vehicles and accelerating the end-of-life vehicle scrapping process significantly conducted the green effect, and aggravating traffic congestion was not statistically significant.(3)The transmission mechanism of the green effect is regulated by regional economic heterogeneity. In regions with better development of fuel-fired vehicles, the transmission of the green effect is subject to the elimination of fuel-fired vehicles and traffic congestion governance, and the transmission efficiency is low. However, regions with a relatively weak fuel-fired automobile industry foundation show a strong“advantage of backwardness”,and the green effect is more prominent. This means that global NEVP should be further accelerated to achieve the green effect and the goal of global carbon neutrality.

文摘Affective exercise experience as an emerging theoretical concept has great potential to provide a more nuanced understanding of individual factors that influence exercise behavior. However, concerning the Affective Exercise Experiences(AFFEXX)questionnaire,it has not been examined yet whether the structural score of the AFFEXX is a useful index to predict physical activity(refers to any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure).Furthermore, there is currently a gap in knowledge regarding the psychological mechanisms that can explain the relationship between affective exercise experiences and the level of physical activity(PA).In order to adress these gaps in the literature,we conducted two studies among Chinese collge students that aimed(i)to investigated whether the total score of the three AFFEXX-C constructs(antecedent appraisals, core affective exercise experiences, and attraction-antipathy towards exercise)is a relaible indicator that can be utilized in research and pratical settings and(ii)to evalute the specific psychological mechanisms that can explain the relationship between affective exercise experience and PA.In Study 1,we recruited 801 voluntary Chinese college students for bifactor and correlational analyses. In Study 2,875 Chinese college students were enrolled to verify our findings from Study 1 and to explore the aforementioned mechanism. Results from the bifactor analyses supported our hypothesis that the total scores of the three AFFEXX-C constructs can be used among Chinese college students to establish a link with PA.Additionally, our results suggested that core affective exercise experiences and attraction-antipathy mediated the relationship between antecedent appraisals and the level of moderate-to-vigorous intensity PA.Therefore, measuring affective exercise experiences using the AFFEXX-C,specifically the total scores of each individual construct may be a useful approach to predict future PA levels.
文摘In this paper, the effect of the mediation effect is mainly used to test and analyze the regression model, and most scholars have studied the impact of the modernization of the industrial structure on the income gap. According to the research results, under the background of high-quality development in the Yangtze River Delta region, the expansion of the income gap between urban and rural areas will inhibit the upgrading of the industrial structure, so it is necessary to focus on building a new type of urbanization, accelerating the construction of an urban innovation system, optimizing the rural employment structure to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas, and providing impetus for the continuous upgrading of the industrial structure.
文摘In the field of philosophy of technology, the concept of mediation is central to understanding how technology shapes human experience and behavior. Our aim in this paper is to contribute to the understanding of technological mediation,in particular how and why it is possible.Technological mediation occurs within a mediation space between the technological realm and the user realm. In the technological realm, technology regularizes events and actions, while in the user realm, the user interprets the significative potential of the technology. This interpretation process is identical with use and involves the formation of user habits, which are constrained by technological, cognitive, and sociocultural factors. To provide a theoretical framework for our analysis,we propose the Semiotic Model of Technological Mediation(SMTM),which draws on Charles Peirceʼs semiotics. To illustrate our argument,we focus on assistive technology and provide a recurring example of the Medimi®Smart,a digital, comprehensive system for medication handling.
文摘Purpose The relationships between anthropometric and training variables with running performance were previously investi-gated.However,it is possible that through the moderating role of anthropometric variables, the magnitude of the relationship between training and performance may be changed. The purpose of this study was to estimate the mediation role of body mass index(BMI)in the relationship between training volume and running performance among non-professional runners, taking into account sex and age category. Methods The sample comprised 1151 non-professional road runners(61.8%male),aged 18–72 years.Information about sex, age, body mass(kg),body height(cm),running pace, motivation for running, training volume and frequency were obtained through an online questionnaire.Taking into account athletes’age, they were split into two age categories:“until 34 years”(adult runners)and“≥35 years”(master athletes).A mediation analysis was computed in Macro Process(SPSS 26),considering sex and age category.BMI was the mediating variable, while training volume/week was used as independ-ent variable, and running pace was considered as dependent variable. Results For both sexes and age categories,a significant association between training volume on running pace was observed[male adult:β=-0.67;95%CI(-1.04 to-0.53);male master:β=-0.241;95%CI(-0.44 to-0.26);female adult:-0.83;95%CI(-1.25 to-0.41);female master:-0.76;95%CI(-1.09 to-0.44)],as well the association between training volume and BMI;and running BMI and running pace.Except for female adult runners,a mediation effect of BMI was observed. Conclusion The present study showed that BMI mediated the association between training volume and running pace in non-professional runners of different sexes and age categories. On the other hand,a small influence of training volume on the expression of BMI was found.
文摘This study aims to elucidate the formation mechanism of the goodwill measurement paradox and assess the impact of M&A synergy effects on goodwill measurement.Drawing upon empirical evidence from case studies, such as the Geely-Volvo acquisition, and broader empirical research on listed companies, the study seeks to offer practical guidance for refining industry-specific goodwill measurement standards within the registration system.Based on the"Institutional Environment-Synergy Effect-Goodwill Measurement"analytical framework, this study selects 528 non-same-control M&A samples of A-share listed companies from 2018 to 2023 as the research objects, and uses principal component analysis and a moderated mediation model to empirically test the impact of operational, financial, and management synergy effects on goodwill measurement,as well as the moderating roles of industry heterogeneity and policy changes. The conclusions are as follows:1.The current"difference method"in goodwill measurement shows a significant deviation, with non-synergistic premiums accounting for 21.5%,and reaching as high as 34.2%in technology-intensive industries.2.Operational,financial,and tax synergy effects all have a positive impact on goodwill measurement, with operational synergy being the most significant(coefficient 0.315***),amplifying to 0.471***in technology-intensive industries.Synergy effects are mainly transmitted through M&A premiums, with the mediating effect of operational synergy accounting for 42.8%.3.After the policy strengthening in 2019,the correlation between synergy effects and goodwill measurement increased by 12.5%,but technology-intensive industries still have a high impairment rate of 15.2%,indicating that policies have yet to fully eradicate the disparities in measurement risks among industries.4.This study is the first to quantify the moderating effects of policy changes and industry attributes on goodwill measurement, theoretically unveiling the core of the goodwill measurement paradox, and practically offering crucial guidance for refining relevant regulations, enhancing valuationtion systems, and formulating regulatory policies.
