Information on Land Use and Land Cover Map(LULCM)is essential for environment and socioeconomic applications.Such maps are generally derived from Multispectral Remote Sensing Images(MRSI)via classification. The classification process can be described as information flow from images to maps through a trained classifier.Characterizing the information flow is essential for understanding the classification mechanism, providing solutions that address such theoretical issues as“what is the maximum number of classes that can be classified from a given MRSI?”and“how much information gain can be obtained?”Consequently, two interesting questions naturally arise,i.e.(i)How can we characterize the information flow?and(ii)What is the mathematical form of the information flow?To answer these two questions, this study first hypothesizes that thermodynamic entropy is the appropriate measure of information for both MRSI and LULCM.This hypothesis is then supported by kinetic-theory-based experiments.Thereafter, upon such an entropy,a generalized Jarzynski equation is formulated to mathematically model the information flow, which contains such parameters as thermodynamic entropy of MRSI,thermodynamic entropy of LULCM,weighted F1-score(classification accuracy),and total number of classes. This generalized Jarzynski equation has been successfully validated by hypothesis-driven experiments where 694 Sentinel-2 images are classified into 10 classes by four classical classifiers. This study provides a way for linking thermodynamic laws and concepts to the characterization and understanding of information flow in land cover classification, opening a new door for constructing domain knowledge. 展开更多

Customer requirements analysis is the key step for product variety design of mass customiza-tion(MC). Quality function deployment (QFD) is a widely used management technique for understanding the voice of the customer (VOC), however, QFD depends heavily on human subject judgment during extracting customer requirements and determination of the importance weights of customer requirements. QFD pro-cess and related problems are so complicated that it is not easily used. In this paper, based on a general data structure of product family, generic bill of material (GBOM), association rules analysis was introduced to construct the classification mechanism between customer requirements and product architecture. The new method can map customer requirements to the items of product family architecture respectively, accomplish the mapping process from customer domain to physical domain directly, and decrease mutual process between customer and designer, improve the product design quality, and thus furthest satisfy customer needs. Finally, an example of customer requirements mapping of the elevator cabin was used to illustrate the proposed method. 展开更多

Before 1980s,the circular suspension spring in automobile subjected to torsion fatigue load, under the cyclic normal tensile stresses, the majority of fatigue fracture occurred was in normal tensile fracture mode(NTFM)and the fracture surface was under 45°diagonal.Because there exists the interaction between the residual stresses induced by shot peening and the applied cyclic normal tensile stresses in NTFM,which represents as"stress strengthening mechanism",shot peening technology could be used for improving the fatigue fracture resistance(FFR)of springs. However, since 1990s up to date,in addition to regular NTFM,the fatigue fractures occurred of peened springs from time to time are in longitudinal shear fracture mode(LSFM)or transverse shear fracture mode(TSFM)with the increase of applied cyclic shear stresses, which leads to a remarkable decrease of FFR.However,LSFM/TSFM can be avoided effectively by means of shot peening treatment again on the peened springs. The phenomena have been rarely happened before. At present there are few literatures concerning this problem.Based upon the results of force analysis of a spring, there is no interaction between the residual stresses by shot peening and the applied cyclic shear stresses in shear fracture. This;means that the effect of"stress strengthening mechanism"for improving the FFR of LSFM/TSFM is disappeared basically.During shot peening, however, both of residual stress and cyclic plastic deformed microstructure are induced synchronously like"twins"in the surface layer of a spring. It has been found for the first time by means of force analysis and experimental results that the modified microstructure in the"twins"as a"structure strengthening mechanism"can improve the FFR of LSFM/TSFM.At the same time,it is;also shown that the optimum technology of shot peening strengthening must have both"stress strengthening mechanism"and"structure strengthening mechanism"simultaneously so that the FFR of both NTFM and LSFM/TSFM can be improved by shot peening. 展开更多

Long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)are emerging as pivotal regulators in gene expression networks,charac-terized by their structural flexibility and functional versatility. In plants, lncRNAs have gained increasing attention due to accumulating evidence of their roles in modulating developmental plasticity and agro-nomic traits. In this review,we focus on the origin, classification, and mechanisms of action of plant lncRNAs,with a particular emphasis on their involvement in developmental processes. We also compre-hensively analyze the relationship between plant lncRNAs and their responses to environmental stimuli, discussing how environmental cues influence their expressions and regulatory functions. We then highlight the importance of the advanced technologies driving their functional exploration. Finally,we discuss recent discoveries of specific long noncoding transcripts that encode functional small peptides, revealing an additional layer of regulatory complexity to these transcripts.Overall, this review discuss the fascinating relationship between the dynamic transcription of lncRNAs and plant developmental plasticity,as well as environmental responses, and emphasizes the need for further research to uncover the underlying mo-lecular mechanisms and exploit the potential of noncoding transcripts for RNA-based strategies in crop improvementandmolecularbreeding. 展开更多
