He then pursued his Ph.D. in thefield of organic fluorescent materialsat Jilin University, under the mentor-ship of Prof. Yuguang Ma, completinghis doctoral studies in 2007. Following that, he con-ducted postdoctoral research on hyperbranched conju-gated polymers at Seoul National University in SouthKorea, with Prof. Soo Young Park as his supervisor from2007 to 2009. In 2009, with support from the Alexandervon Humboldt Foundation, he conducted research onchiral supramolecular assemblies of fluorescent mole-cules at Würzburg University, Germany, under the guid-ance of Professor Frank Würthner. In 2012, he wasrecruited by South China University of Technology wherehe currently holds the position of full professor.
