Soil samples were taken from a depth of 0 to 20 cm using a hand auger on both banks of five tributaries of the Congo River (Djoué, Mfilou, Mfoa, Tsiémé, Djiri) that flow through the city of Brazzaville. 90 sampling points were defined, with 3 points 250 m apart on the banks and located, for each river, at three sites: upstream, midstream and downstream. Finally, 15 composite samples representative of the study area were taken. The average pH values of the water varied between 6.5 and 7.5. These pH values show that the soils studied are neutral. Total carbon content varied between 0.7% (Djiri) and 1.6% (Djoué). Total nitrogen content ranged from 0.08% (Djiri) to 0.12% (Djoué). TMEs contents varied from 0.5 to 1.8 mg/kg for Sb, from 0.5 to 2.5 mg/kg for As, from 0.1 to 0.18 mg/kg for Cd, from 4.2 to 11.3 mg/kg for Cr, from 0.07 to 0.27 mg/kg for Hg, from 0.7 to 2.4 mg/kg for Ni, from 0 to 158 mg/kg for Pb and from 16 to 105 mg/kg for Zn. The lowest TMEs levels were observed in the soils of the Djiri river, while the highest levels were observed in the soils of the Djoué and Tsiémé rivers. The ANOVA and Bonferroni test did not show significant differences in the means of the parameters measured (p > 0.05). The TMEs levels were below the accepted standards (NF U44-041), with the exception of Pb, which had high levels downstream of the Djoué. According to the pollution index values calculated using soil TME content, the soils on the banks of the Djoué river are considered polluted, while those on the banks of the Tsiémé river are moderately polluted, those on the banks of the Mfoa and Mfilou rivers are slightly polluted, and the soils on the banks of Djiri river are unpolluted.展开更多

The experiments were carried out on seed soak and topdressing with different trace elements and varied concentrations at the nursery of Gardens Research Institute, Harbin, in 2000-2001. The experimental results showed that soaking seed with 1% and 0.2% concentrations of Mn element produced best result for seed germination, and the germination rate was increased by 9%~19% for the seeds treated with 1% concentration and 12%~14% for the seeds treated with 0.2% concentration compared with the control group. The seeds treated with boron element had lowest germination rate. For trace element topdressing, Mn and Mo elements presented good result for seedling growth and the treatment with low concentration was even better. The height or chlorophyll content of the seedlings with spray of low-concentration Mn and Mo element was much higher than that of untreated ones. In the contrast to the treating method of seed soak, topdressing (application of spraying on foliage) had evident effect on seedling growth.展开更多

[ Method ] Indoor antifungd experiment and pot test was carried out to study the control effect of different trace and secondary dements on scab of cucu.rbits; after trace and secondary element compounds were sprayed for 7 d, the content of soluble protein and malondialdehyde (MDA) and the activities of peroxidase (POD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) of cucumber leaves during seedling stage were simultaneously detected. [ Result] The inhibi- tion effects on scab of cucurbits were found in the three trace and secondary dements, especially for the CaC12 (66.9%), and about 54.6% and 24.1% for ZnSO4 and H3 BO3 , respectively. When cucumber plants were infected by scab of cuea.rbits, the contents of MDA for all treatments were significantly decreased in cucum- ber leaves after spraying the three trace and secondary elements compared with control. The contents of soluble protein in cucumber seedling were increased by Zn- SO4 and H3 BO3 application, while the contents of POD and SOD were increased on ZnSO4 and CaCI2 treatments. The defense system of cucumber was induced and strengthened by application of the three trace and secondary elements. [ Conclusion ] The results provided the theoretical basis for practical application and research on resistance mechanism of using trace and secondary dements to control scab of eueurbits.展开更多

The results showed that the contents of available P, K were balance, available Ca, Mg were deficient, and available Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn were very plentiful. Major and trace elements distribution of different landform areas were obviously different. The contents of trace elements (Fe, Zn and Mn) of central Yunnan Red Plateau were significantly higher than those of Hengduan Mountains in western Yunnan and those of karst plateau in eastern Yunnan. The contents of available P, K, and Ca gradually declined from west to east, while the content of available Cu rose gradually from west to east. The results are reference value to elements determination and agricultural production in farmland soils.展开更多

The results show that the content and variation of trace elements has experienced remarkably regular changes in the pace with coarse and fine sedimentary cycles of palaeo-aeolian sands to its overlying fluvio-lacustrine facies or/and palaeosols. The trace elements with chemical properties of relatively active (V, Sr, Cu, Ni, As) and relatively stable (P, Pb, Rb, Mn, Nb, Zr) are a manifestation of the corresponding 27 changeable cycles between peak and valley values, appearing a multi-fiuctuational process line of relative gathering and migration since then. The low numerical value distribution of these two types of trace elements in the aeolian sand facies represents erosion and accumulation under wind force during the cold-dry climate. Whereas their enrichments in both fluvio-lacustrine facies and palaeosols are related to the valley’s special low-lying physiognomic position between the Ordos Plateau and the Loess Plateau under the warm and humid climate conditions. The above relatively migrated and gathered change of the trace elements is the result of 27 climatic cycles of cold-dry and warm-humid, which is probably caused by repeated alternations of winter monsoon and summer monsoon in the Mu Us Sandy Land influenced by the climate vicissitudes in northern hemisphere during glacial and interglacial periods since 150 ka BP.展开更多

Thus, the ash beds near the PTB in South China may carry information on this event. Three volcanic ash layers, altered to clay, outcropped in the PTB beds in Zunyi Section, Guizhou Province, Southwest China. The U-Pb ages, trace elements, and Hf-isotope compositions of zircon grains from these three ash beds were analyzed using LA-ICPMS and LA-MC-ICPMS. The zircons are mainly magmatic in origin(241-279 Ma) except for two inherited/xenocrystic zircons(939 and 2 325 Ma). The ages of these magmatic zircons indicate three episodes of magmatism which occurred around the MiddleLate Permian boundary(-261.5 Ma, MLPB), the Wuchiapingian-Changhsingian boundary(-254.5 Ma, WCB), and the PTB(-250.5 Ma), respectively. The first two episodes of magmatism near the MLPB and WCB may be attributed to magmatic inheritance or re-deposition. All magmatic zircons share similar trace-element and Hf-isotope compositions. They have Y, Hf, Th and U contents and Nb/Ta ratios are typical of zircons from silicic calc-alkaline magmas. These zircons also exhibit enriched Hf-isotope compositions with _(εHf)(t) values of-11.4 to +0.2, which suggests that the three magmatic episodes involved melting of the continental crust. The more enriched Hf-isotope composition (_(εHf)(t)=-11.4--4.8) of Bed ZY13(-250.5 Ma) implies more input of ancient crustal material in the magma. Integration of the Hf-isotope and trace-element compositions of magmatic zircons suggest that these three episodes of magmatism may take place along the convergent continent margin in or near southwestern South China as a result of the closure of the Palaeo-Tethys Ocean.展开更多

The mean grain size exhibits a wide variation ranging from 0.09Φ to 8.05Φ with an average value of 5.33Φ. The average contents of major elements descend in an order of c(SiO_2)>c(Al_2O_3)>c(Fe_2O_3)>c(CaO)>c(MgO)>c(K_2O)>c(Na_2O)>c(TiO_2)>c(P_2O_5)>c(MnO), while those of trace elements exhibit a descending order of c(Sr)>c(Rb)>c(V)>c(Zn)>c(Cr)>c(Pb)>c(Ni)>c(Cu)>c(As). On the basis of elementary distribution characteristics and statistical analyses, the study area is divided into the four zones: Zone I is located in the northeastern coastal area of the gulf, which receives large amount of fluvial materials from local rivers in Guangxi and Guangdong, China, and the Qiongzhou Strait; Zone Ⅱ is located in the center of the study area, where surface sediments exhibits a multiple source; Zone Ⅲ is located in the Qiongzhou Strait, where surface sediments are dominated by materials from the Zhujiang River and Hainan; Zone IV is located in the southwest of the study area, where surface sediments are mainly originated from the Red River and Hainan. The statistical analyses of sediment geochemical characteristics reveal that the grain size, which is mainly influenced by hydrodynamics and mineral composition of terrigenous materials, is the leading factor controlling the elementary distribution.Meanwhile, impacts from anthropogenic activities and marine biogenic process will also be taken into consideration.展开更多

The results shows that the elements Br and Ba show a strong affinity to the organic matter, Cs, Cd, Pb, Zn and Hg partly to the organic matter, and the other trace elements are mainly associated with the mineral matter. Cs, Mo, P, Pb, Zn and S have positive correlations with the two principal factors, reflecting the complexity of their modes of occurrence. Some elements that were thought to show a faint relationship (Be with S and Sb with carbonates) in other rocks are found to have a strong interrelation in the coals. Clay minerals (mainly kaolinite) dominate in the coals, and Ta, Th, Ti, Sc, REE, Hf, U, Se, W, V, Nb, Mo, Al, P, Cr, Pb and Zn are distributed mostly in kaolinite, while K, Rb, Cs, and Na have much to do with illite. Conventional cleaning can reduce the concentrations of most hazardous elements in various degrees. The hazardous elements S, As, Sb, Se, Mo, Pb, Cd and Hg relatively enriched in some coals from the area studied have a relatively high potential of environmental risks. However, by physical coal cleaning processes, more than 60% of As and Hg were removed, showing a high degree of removal, more than 30% of Sb, as well as S, Pb and Cd partly associated with the inorganic matter were removed. Se and Mo showing a relatively low degree of removal could be further removed by deep crushing of the coal during physical cleaning processes, and the concentrations of S, Pb, Cd and Hg with a partial association with the organic matter could be decreased in such ways as the coal blending. Cluster analysis together with factor analysis is a rapid and effective way to deduce the mode of occurrence of an element from bulk samples, and the removability data of most hazardous elements are basically consistent with their modes of occurrence suggested, which indicates that the statistical analysis could predict the cleaning potential of hazardous elements during the physical coal cleaning.展开更多
文摘This work focused on determining the physico-chemical characteristics (pH, carbon and nitrogen) and trace metal elements (TMEs) content (As, Sb, Cd, Hg, Ni, Pb, Cr, Zn) of soils in the Brazzaville city. 文摘Quartz trace elements are extensively employed in studying magmatic evolution, fluid evolution, and metal enrichment. The Bianjiadayuan Ag-Pb-Zn-Sn deposit is a typical magmatichydrothermal system in northeastern China, however, studies on its complex magmatic-hydrothermal evolution are limited. This study investigates the quartz from the Bianjiadayuan deposit to gain insight into the physicochemical evolution of mineralization using cathodoluminescence(CL)textures and laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS)of quartz.Five types quartz(Q1 to Q5)were identified. From Q1 in quartz porphyry to Q5 in Ag-Pb-Zn veins, the CL intensity and Ti content gradually decreases, and Ge,Ge/Ti,and Al/Ti ratios increase, indicating a temperature decline from magmatic to hydrothermal stages. The Sb content shows an opposite trend to Ti content, correlating positively with Ge content in quartz, suggesting that Sb content could also be temperature-dependent.These trace elements in quartz indicate cooling is critical for Ag mineralization.Furthermore, quartz phenocryst(Q1)from the quartz porphyry shows low Al/Ti(mostly<4)and Ge/Ti ratios(<0.04),suggesting a low degree of magmatic evolution. The Sb content in Q5 from Ag-Pb-Zn-quartz veins(>1 ppm, mostly tens of ppm)is notably higher compared to quartz in other lithologies including Sn-bearing quartz veins(<1 ppm),suggesting that Sb contents can serve as an effective indicator of Ag mineralization.

文摘The measurement of trace elements in Antarctic snow is crucial for understanding historical atmospheric geochemical changes and circulation patterns. However, studies on their spatial distributions remain limited, particularly those evaluating multiple metals across several snowpits, making interpretation challenging. This study investigates the distributions and sources of trace elements-including Cd,Ba,Pb,U,Bi,V,Mn,Fe,Cu,Zn,and As-across four snowpits in the Lambert Glacier Basin,East Antarctica. The trace elements exhibit site-,element-,and season-dependent variations, with higher concentrations observed at inland sites. In contrast,δ^(18)O and ion concentrations decrease with increasing distance from the coast and elevation, underscoring the influence of marine emissions.Crustal sources primarily contributed to Ba,U,V,Mn,and Fe,while non-crustal sources predominantly contributed to Cd,Bi,Zn,Pb,Cu,and As.Positive matrix factorization(PMF)analysis indicates that trace element concentrations in Pits 2 and 3 are influenced by both crustal and non-crustal sources, while Pit 4 reflects a mixed-source influence.Pit 1(coastal site)also indicates the mixed sources with influence of a highly dynamic marine climate and environment. The PMF results reveal similarities in emission sources and atmospheric transport patterns across the snowpits, facilitating a more comprehensive interpretation of longer ice core records.Overall, this study provides valuable insights into trace element distributions and enhances our understanding of past environmental and climatic conditions.

文摘We investigated the concentrations, vertical distribution, and enrichment status of ten trace metal elements(Cr,Hg,Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd,As,Co,V,and Ni)in sediments of core D04 from the muddy area outside the Oujiang River Estuary. In addition to V,As,and Hg,the concentrations of Cr,Cu,Zn,Pb,Cd,Ni and Co were constrained by sediment grain size and organic matter.Al-though the concentrations of trace metals fluctuated during the 5.8–2.5 kyr BP period, overall variations remained relatively stable. However, during the 2.5–0 kyr BP period, the concentrations of Cd,Zn,Cu,Pb,Ni,Ni,and Cr showed an increasing trend within the fluctuations, ultimately reaching relatively high levels. The muddy area was lightly contaminated by heavy metals such as As,Hg,and Cu.The concentrations of Hg,As,and Cu have been continuously increasing since 2.5 kyr BP,indicating clear impacts from fre-quent human activities.

文摘High purity magnesium is not only an important basic raw material for semiconductor and electronics industries, but also a promising new generation of electrochemical energy storage materials and biomedical materials.Impurities in high-purity magnesium affect material properties, which has become the most critical factor restricting its application. However, accurate analysis of multiple ultra-trace impurity elements in high-purity magnesium is extremely challenging. In this paper, based on the synergistic effect of N_(2)O/H_(2) reaction gas mixture to eliminate spectral interference of inductively coupled plasma tandem mass spectrometry(ICP-MS/MS),a new strategy for the quantification of 45 ultra-trace impurity elements in high-purity magnesium was proposed. The results indicated that the limits of detection(LOD)were in the range of 0.02–18.5 ng L^(−1);the LODs of the challenging non-metallic elements Si and S were 18.5 and 12.2 ng L^(−1),respectively;and the LODs of all the other analytes were less than 10 ng L^(−1).Even under hot plasma conditions,LODs of alkali metal elements were also less than 5 ng L^(−1).The spike recovery of each analyte was 93.6%–107%,and the relative standard deviation(RSD)was 3.2%–6.9%,respectively.At a 95%level of confidence,no significant differences were found between the results obtained under the optimal conditions for the analyte with the developed method and the measurement results of SF-ICP-MS.The developed method indicated low LOD,high sample throughput, and complete interference elimination, demonstrating a new avenue for the rapid determination of ultra-trace elements in high-purity magnesium.

文摘The stimulative effect of trace elements on seed germination and seedling growth of Pinus tabulaeformis was tested. In the contrast to the treating method of seed soak, topdressing (application of spraying on foliage) had evident effect on seedling growth.

文摘The paper was to explore the effect of trace and secondary elements on scab of cucurbits ( Cladosporium cucumerinum) and their effects on enzyme activities of cucumber plants. [ Conclusion ] The results provided the theoretical basis for practical application and research on resistance mechanism of using trace and secondary dements to control scab of eueurbits.

文摘In order to investigate the distribution of soil available micronutrients, and provide a theoretical basis for management of fertilizing reasonably on crops, the contents of major and trace elements (P, K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Fe, Zn, and Mn) in farm- land soil collected from Yunnan Province were determined by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), the contents and distribution of major and trace elements were also studied. The results are reference value to elements determination and agricultural production in farmland soils.

文摘Trace elements and rare earth elements(REE) of the sulfide minerals were determined by inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The results indicate that V,Cu,Sn,Ga,Cd,In,and Se are concentrated in sphalerite,Sb,As,Ge,and Tl are concentrated in galena, and almost all trace elements in pyrite are low.The Ga and Cd contents in the light-yellow sphalerites are higher than that in the brown and the black sphalerites. The contents of Ge,Tl,In,and Se in brown sphalerites are higher than that in light-yellow sphalerites and black sphalerites. It shows that REE concentrations are higher in pyrite than in sphalerite, and galena. In sphalerites, the REE concentration decreases from light-yellow sphalerites, brown sphalerites,to black sphalerites. The ratios of Ga/In are more than 10, and Co/Ni are less than 1 in the studied sphalerites and pyrites, respectively, indicating that the genesis of the Tianqiao Pb-Zn ore deposit might belong to sedimentary-reformed genesis associated with hydrothermal genesis. The relationship between LnGa and LnIn in sphalerite, and between LnBi and LnSb in galena, indicates that the Tianqiao Pb-Zn ore deposit might belong to sedimentary-reformed genesis.Based on the chondrite-normalized REE patterns,δEu is a negative anomaly(0.13-0.88),andδCe does not show obvious anomaly(0.88-1.31);all the samples have low total REE concentrations(〈3 ppm) and a wide range of light rare earth element/high rare earth element ratios(1.12-12.35).These results indicate that the ore-forming fluids occur under a reducing environment.Comparison REE compositions and parameters of sphalerites, galenas, pyrites, ores, altered dolostone rocks, strata carbonates, and the pyrite from Lower Carboniferous Datang Formation showed that the ore-forming fluids might come from polycomponent systems, that is,different chronostratigraphic units could make an important contribution to the ore-forming fluids.Combined with the tectonic setting and previous isotopic geochemistry evidence,we conclude that the ore-deposit genesis is hydrothermal, sedimentary reformed, with multisources characteristics of ore-forming fluids.

文摘The paper makes some analyses on 11 trace elements in the Milanggouwan stratigraphical section in the Salawusu River valley, which is regarded as a prototype geology-palaeoclimate record since 150 ka BP. The above relatively migrated and gathered change of the trace elements is the result of 27 climatic cycles of cold-dry and warm-humid, which is probably caused by repeated alternations of winter monsoon and summer monsoon in the Mu Us Sandy Land influenced by the climate vicissitudes in northern hemisphere during glacial and interglacial periods since 150 ka BP.

文摘A growing body of evidence shows that volcanism near the Permian-Triassic boundary(PTB) may be crucial in triggering the Permian–Triassic(P–Tr) mass extinction. Integration of the Hf-isotope and trace-element compositions of magmatic zircons suggest that these three episodes of magmatism may take place along the convergent continent margin in or near southwestern South China as a result of the closure of the Palaeo-Tethys Ocean.

文摘A multi-index analysis including grain size, major and trace elements is performed on the surface sediments from the northeastern Beibu Gulf to trace the sources of the sediments and to understand the controlling factors for elements distribution. The statistical analyses of sediment geochemical characteristics reveal that the grain size, which is mainly influenced by hydrodynamics and mineral composition of terrigenous materials, is the leading factor controlling the elementary distribution.Meanwhile, impacts from anthropogenic activities and marine biogenic process will also be taken into consideration.
文摘Based on the analyses of 43 elements in 16 samples of the raw coal and feed coal collected from the northern Ordos basin and Shanxi Province, the modes of occurrence of these elements were studied using the method of cluster analysis and factor analysis, and the cleaning potential of the hazardous elements relatively enriched in the coals was discussed by analyzing six samples of the cleaned coal from the coal-washing plants and coal cleaning simulation experiments. Cluster analysis together with factor analysis is a rapid and effective way to deduce the mode of occurrence of an element from bulk samples, and the removability data of most hazardous elements are basically consistent with their modes of occurrence suggested, which indicates that the statistical analysis could predict the cleaning potential of hazardous elements during the physical coal cleaning.
