Mill. cv. zhongshu No. 6) were treated by magnetized plasma before being sown to investigate its effect on the growth and yield of tomatoes. Biochemical analysis showed that dehydrogenase activity increased with the increase of the current but decreased when the current was higher than 1.5 A. The activities of peroxidase (POD) isoenzyme changed in the same pattern. There was no difference in germination percentage between treatments and control, which were carried out in laboratory conditions. However, significant (c~ = 0.01) difference was observed in germination percentage in the pot experiment. In the pot experiment, the sprouting rate for the treatment with a 1.5 A current was 32.75%, whereas the untreated was only 4.75% on the eleventh day. Germination time is more than one day earlier than the control. The 1.5 A treatment increased the tomato yield by 20.7%.展开更多

Barium oxide coated cathode plasma source is well recognized as an effective technique due to its high electron emission current. An indirectly heated oxide coated cathode plasma source has been constructed on a linear magnetized plasma device. Owing to the DC magnetic field, a transverse component of the electric fields associated with the wakefield appears, while the longitudinal wave is not greatly affected by the magnetic field up to 22 Tesla. Moreover, the scaling law of the transverse field versus the longitudinal field is derived. One-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation results confirm the analytical results. Wakefield transmission through the plasma-vacuum boundary, where electromagnetic emission into vacuum occurs, is also investigated numerically. These results are useful for the generation of terahertz radiation and the diagnosis of laser wakefields.展开更多

Second order statistical moments of the ordinary and extraordinary waves scattered by the magnetized plasma slab are obtained using the boundary conditions for an arbitrary correlation function of electron density fluctuations. Normalized correlation functions at quasi-longitudinal propagation along the external magnetic field are calculated for the carrier frequency 0.1 MHz and 40 MHz. Isolines of the normalized variance of Faraday angle are constructed for the anisotropic Gaussian correlation function at various anisotropy factors of irregularities. Obtained results are in a good agreement with the experimental data.展开更多

The principle of this method is to apply a static magnetic field to limit electron movement, thereby increasing the equivalent resistance and thus reducing the induced current and SH. We consider the static magnetic field acting on the plasma of the entire induced current loop rather than on the local plasma, where the induced current is excited by the magnetic field component of LF EM waves. Analytical expressions of SH suitable for magnetized cylindrical enveloping plasma are derived by adopting an equivalent circuit approach, by which SHis calculated with respect to various plasma parameter settings. The results show that SH can be reduced under a static magnetic field and the maximum magnetic field strength that mitigates blackout is less than 0.1 T. Experiments in which LF EM waves propagate in a shock-tubegenerated magnetized cylindrical enveloping plasma are also conducted. SH measured under the magnetic field(the magnetic field strength B0 acting on the magnetic field probe was about0.06 T) reduces at f=10 MHz and f=30 MHz when ne≈1.9×1013 cm-3, which is consistent with theoretical results. The verification of the theory thus suggests that applying a static magnetic field with a weak magnetic field has the potential to improve the transmission capacity of LF EM waves in dense plasma.展开更多

The scattering (transformation) occurs due to the nonlinear coupling of the incident wave with the polarization (shielding) cloud surrounding the particle. It is shown that the problem is reduced to the determination of the nonlinear (three index) dielectric tensor of magnetized plasma. The angular distribution and the cross section for scattering (transformation) of high-frequency ordinary and extraordinary waves and low-frequency upper-hybrid, low-hybrid, and magnetosonic waves are investigated within a cold plasma (hydrodynamic) model.展开更多

To investigate propagation dynamics of cosh-Gaussian laser beams in collisionless magnetized plasma, well established parabolic equation approach under WKB and paraxial approximations is employed. Our study is crucially pivoted on the concept of critical curve and subsequent determination of numerical interval for decentered parameter to sustain the competition between diffraction and self-focusing during the propagation of laser beam. Additionally, in the present study an interesting feature in the self-focusing region of the critical curve has been attempted for different values of decentered parameter.
文摘Scattering of the electromagnetic waves by a randomly inhomogeneous electrically gyrotropic slab are studied using the perturbation method. Obtained results are in a good agreement with the experimental data.

文摘The longitudinal and transverse waves of 2D magnetized complex plasma based on the drivendissipative Langevin dynamics simulation are investigated. The modified Yukawa potential with including the magnetization of background ions is used to account for the interaction of the charged dust particles. The simulation results are compared with the existing theories including quasilocalized charge approximation and randomphase approximation. In the weak magnetization regime, the wave spectra obtained from Yukawa simulation and modified Yukawa simulation basically are the same.In the strong magnetization regime, the magnetization of background ions and temperature ratio of background electrons to background ions play effects on the wave spectra of the system, particularly for the strongly coupled state. The dust acoustic waves in the weakly coupled state basically are not influenced by the magnetization of background ions.

文摘We propose a method of applying a static magnetic field to reduce the attenuation of the magnetic field component(SH) of low-frequency electromagnetic(LF EM) waves in dense plasma. The verification of the theory thus suggests that applying a static magnetic field with a weak magnetic field has the potential to improve the transmission capacity of LF EM waves in dense plasma.
文摘The scattering and transformation of the waves propagating in magnetized plasma on a heavy stationary charged particle located at a plane plasma-vacuum boundary is considered. The scattering (transformation) occurs due to the nonlinear coupling of the incident wave with the polarization (shielding) cloud surrounding the particle. It is shown that the problem is reduced to the determination of the nonlinear (three index) dielectric tensor of magnetized plasma. The angular distribution and the cross section for scattering (transformation) of high-frequency ordinary and extraordinary waves and low-frequency upper-hybrid, low-hybrid, and magnetosonic waves are investigated within a cold plasma (hydrodynamic) model.
