In addition, the evolution laws of compressive strength, deformation modulus and total energy, elastic potential energy, dissipated energy and peak energy of concrete in the process of deformation and failure are analyzed. The effects of age and temperature on low-temperature concrete is analyzed from the perspective of energy. Test results show that temperature improves the strength and deformation of concrete to varying degrees. When cured for 28 days, the compressive strength and deformation modulus of concrete at −20 ℃ is increased by 17.98% and 21.45% respectively, compared with the compressive strength and deformation modulus at room temperature of 20 ℃. At the point of failure of the concrete under uniaxial compression, the total damage energy and the dissipation energy both increase, while the developed elastic strain energy increases and then decreases. Increase in curing duration tends to increase the total destruction energy of concrete, peak point elastic strain energy, peak point dissipation energy, and peak point total energy. Whereas increase in curing durations, has shown to decrease the total destruction energy of concrete, the peak point elastic strain energy, peak point dissipation energy, and peak point total energy. The peak point strain energy reflects the ability of low-temperature concrete to reasonably resist damage. By using the principle of energy analysis to study the deformation process of concrete, it provides research methods and ideas for the deformation analysis of this type of material under load.展开更多

Our approach, the modified SPIHT (MSPIHT), distributes entropy differently than SPIHT and also optimizes the coding. This approach can produce results that are a significant improvement on the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and compression ratio obtained by SPIHT algorithm, without affecting the computing time. These results are also comparable with those obtained using the Embedded Zerotree Wavelet (EZW) and Joint Photographic Experts Group 2000 (JPG2) algorithms.展开更多

They impose on practitioners optimal diagnostic methods such as telemedicine in order to be able to quickly detect anomalies for daily care and monitoring of patients. The Electrocardiogram (ECG) is an examination that can detect abnormal functioning of the heart and generates a large number of digital data which can be stored or transmitted for further analysis. For storage or transmission purposes, one of the challenges is to reduce the space occupied by ECG signal and for that, it is important to offer more and more efficient algorithms capable of achieving high compression rates, while offering a good quality of reconstruction in a relatively short time. We propose in this paper a new ECG compression scheme that is based on a subset of signal splitting and 2D processing, the wavelet transform (DWT) and SPIHT coding which has proved their worth in the field of signal processing and compression. They are exploited for decorrelation and coding of the signal. The results obtained are significant and offer many perspectives.展开更多

Traditional compression algorithms do not sufficiently utilize the distinctness of formal photographs. That is, the object is an image of the human head, and the background is in unicolor. Therefore, the compression is of low efficiency and the image after compression is still space-consuming. This paper presents an image compression algorithm based on object segmentation for practical high-efficiency applications. To achieve high coding efficiency, shape-adaptive discrete wavelet transforms are used to transformation arbitrarily shaped objects. The areas of the human head and its background are compressed separately to reduce the coding redundancy of the background. Two methods, lossless image contour coding based on differential chain, and modified set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) algorithm of arbitrary shape, are discussed in detail. The results of experiments show that when bit per pixel (bpp)is equal to 0.078, peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of reconstructed photograph will exceed the standard of SPIHT by nearly 4dB.展开更多

The relatively new transform of multiwavelets can possess desirable features simultaneously, such as orthogonality and symmetry, while scalar wavelets cannot. In this paper we propose a compression scheme combining with speckle noise reduction within the multiwavelet framework. Compared with classical set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) algorithm, our method achieves favorable peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and superior speckle noise reduction performances.展开更多

At first, this paper gives the best ideal sets (i. e. the best biphase code sets whose maximal sidelobe not more than 2) for all code length N≤12, which have been obtained from binary sequences by means of the best codes sieving method suggested by Yang Guangzheng, et al.(1997) Computer simulation for group correlation property of best ideal sets for code length N=12 on various conditions is made. Simulation result shows that the sidelobe level of best ideal set with no weighting is zero, under condition of zero-Doppler shift and has ultra-low sidelobe on Doppler up to 5kHz with no weighting and whose tolerance of phase and amplitude distortion is bigger too.展开更多

The image compression plays vital role in multimedia applications. The ultimate aim of image compression is to reduce storage space without degrading image quality. Compression is required whenever the data handled is huge they may be required to sent or transmitted and also stored. The New Edge Directed Interpolation (NEDI)-based lifting Discrete Wavelet Transfrom (DWT) scheme with modified Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees (MSPIHT) algorithm is proposed in this paper. The NEDI algorithm gives good visual quality image particularly at edges. The main objective of this paper is to be preserving the edges while performing image compression which is a challenging task. The NEDI with lifting DWT has achieved 99.18% energy level in the low frequency ranges which has 1.07% higher than 5/3 Wavelet decomposition and 0.94% higher than traditional DWT. To implement this NEDI with Lifting DWT along with MSPIHT algorithm which gives higher Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) value and minimum Mean Square Error (MSE) and hence better image quality. The experimental results proved that the proposed method gives better PSNR value (39.40 dB for rate 0.9 bpp without arithmetic coding) and minimum MSE value is 7.4.展开更多

For quantitative elucidation, a graph of intermediate RS was built with temperature (T) and time (t) as coordinates. In this graph (abbreviated as T-t planum), a series of curves of RS were created. This leads to a conclusion that same RS can be obtained by numerous different pathways. Further research on pathway equivalency based on T-t planum indicates that a low RS of 10% can be achieved definitely by different combinations of time and temperature. However, the fixation mechanism varies at different temperatures. On the equivalent pathways of higher recovery, the influence of temperature must be taken into consideration. The actual routes must be somewhat modified to achieve an expected result. This makes it possible for us to work out a best fixation pathway among all the possibilities, to eliminate the impact of heat on the mechanical properties of wood.展开更多
