A research concerning the coupling conditions of gas leakage through suction valves and capacity regulation is performed in an industrial reciprocating compressor.Both internal flow and thermodynamic characteristic ar...A research concerning the coupling conditions of gas leakage through suction valves and capacity regulation is performed in an industrial reciprocating compressor.Both internal flow and thermodynamic characteristic are discussed in detail.The results show that the capacity of compressor can be regulated steplessly by controlling suction valve closure moment.And then the quantitative relationship between the capacity load and the closing angle of suction valve is revealed.The capacity load and valve leakage rate show obvious different features in P-V diagrams,which makes it easier to define appropriate features for detecting cracked or broken reciprocating compressor valves under varying load conditions.A set of curves of compression work and discharge gas mass are obtained and a method for rating thermal performance of a compressor is presented using these curves.展开更多

This paper discusses the impacts of power frequency deviation on the generators and electrical equipment in the network and presents the relationship between step load capabilities and generator operating parameters. For a power plant consisting of a number of generators both step load and power output requirements must be satisfied. An analysis method is proposed to facilitate the development of an operation strategy which can meet both step load and power demand requirements in the full load range.? Typical reciprocating engine step load curves are used to demonstrate the analysis method and the results are further optimised for lower operational cost. This analysis method provides a general approach to operation strategy of large reciprocating engines used in islanded power generation.展开更多
FeMnSi-based shape memory alloys(SMAs)have great applied potential to large-scale structures in civil engineering,especially as an aseismic structural material.Low-cycle fatigue performance is one of the most importan...FeMnSi-based shape memory alloys(SMAs)have great applied potential to large-scale structures in civil engineering,especially as an aseismic structural material.Low-cycle fatigue performance is one of the most important properties of FeMnSi-based SMA aseismic materials.However,the low-cycle fatigue behavior of such SMAs,especially the stress-controlled low-cycle fatigue behavior(with ratchetting effect),has not been clearly understood.In this work,the low-cycle fatigue behavior of the FeMnSiCrNi SMAs subjected to stress-controlled cyclic tension–compression loads is investigated,and the effects of temperature,loading frequency,stress amplitude,and stress ratio are addressed.By analyzing the cyclic stress–strain response,fatigue fracture surface morphology,dissipation energy,ratchetting strain,and equivalent damping ratio,the mechanisms behind the temperature-,loading frequency-,stress amplitude-,and stress ratio-dependent low-cycle fatigue behavior are discussed.The results show that the plasticity,martensitic transformation,and/or the ratchetting strain caused by their tension–compression asymmetry are the decisive factors affecting the low-cycle fatigue behavior of FeMnSiCrNi SMAs.展开更多
To achieve efficient connection and integrity in prefabricated frame structures,a novel beam-column connection between prefabricated steel-reinforced concrete(SRC)columns and cast-in-situ reinforced concrete(RC)beams ...To achieve efficient connection and integrity in prefabricated frame structures,a novel beam-column connection between prefabricated steel-reinforced concrete(SRC)columns and cast-in-situ reinforced concrete(RC)beams is proposed.Four connection specimens with varying thicknesses of connecting cover plates were designed and fabricated.Low-cycle reversed loading tests were conducted to obtain mechanical performance data,allowing for analysis of behavioral patterns,including load-displacement hysteresis curves,skeleton curves,load-carrying capacity,deformation performance,energy dissipation capacity,and stiffness degradation.Test results indicate that properly designed prefabricated connections exhibit mechanical properties comparable to those of cast-in-situ concrete connections.The hysteresis curves of the prefabricated connections are well-shaped,with nearly no reduction in load-carrying capacity and deformation performance,demonstrating excellent seismic behavior.The findings provide a theoretical basis and reference for the design of prefabricated concrete frame structures.展开更多

In the paper, the reciprocal theorem is applied to research on the bending of set square with one free oblique edge and two clamped edges under a concentrated load acting at any point. This method is simpler and general.
