The edges of the suspicious region in mammogram are enhanced using an improved logic filter. The result of further image processing gives a gray-level histogram with distinguished characteristics, which facilitates the segmentation of the suspicious masses. The experiment results based on 25 digital sample mammograms, which are definitely diagnosed, are analyzed and evaluated briefly.展开更多

We call it fuzzy logic matching algor...An approach based on fuzzy logic for matching both articulated and non-articulated objects across multiple non-overlapping field of views (FoVs) from multiple cameras is proposed. We call it fuzzy logic matching algorithm (FLMA). The approach uses the information of object motion, shape and camera topology for matching objects across camera views. The motion and shape information of targets are obtained by tracking them using a combination of ConDensation and CAMShift tracking algorithms. The information of camera topology is obtained and used by calculating the projective transformation of each view with the common ground plane. The algorithm is suitable for tracking non-rigid objects with both linear and non-linear motion. We show videos of tracking objects across multiple cameras based on FLMA. From our experiments, the system is able to correctly match the targets across views with a high accuracy.展开更多

In this algorithm, the sensing results of secondary users are pre-filtered and applying fuzzy logic, so, the overall sensing performance of the network is improved. To determine pre-filter parameters, statistical parameters of the sensing results are used to remove those sensing results which are far from the majority sensing results. However, to obtain a better performance in the spectrum sensing, we propose a fuzzy logic to nullify the effects of malicious users who transmit false sensing data to the fusion center. We further propose a Fuzzy Trust Level for each user as to weight the sensing result of the corresponding user before combining all sensing results in the fusion center. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm yield significant improvement in the performance of the spectrum sensing and identifying malicious users.展开更多

This method monitors residual absolute mean and standard deviation of each measurement component with fuzzy logic adaptive controller( FLAC),and adjusts the softening factor matrix dynamically by fuzzy rules,which is capable to modify suboptimal fading factor of STF adaptively and improve the filter's robust adaptive capacity. The simulation results show that the improved filtering performance is superior to the conventional square root cubature Kalman filter( SCKF) and the strong tracking square root cubature Kalman filter( STSCKF).展开更多

The main objec...Modeling of filter performance is very difficult because of complexity of the defining physical and chemical events in the filtration system whereas the knowledge of functionality of filter coefficient. The main objective of this study is to predict the performance of multimedia filter and to evaluate both the initial and transient stage of suspended solid removal efficiency depending on experimental data. Fuzzy logic has been used to build a model of multi input and one output (MISO) for the removal efficiency of multimedia filter which it consists from sand and granular activated carbon (GAC) mediums. The control parameters of (FLC) of Sugeno model are seven parameters which are media depths, media grains size for both sand and GAC, filtration rate, diameter of suspension particle, feed concentration, and operation time. The output parameter is removal efficiency of media filter whereas these data are collocated from pilot scale deep bed filter, thus, the removal efficiency of filter was modeled by 575 rules as a function of different control parameters. An adaptive of neuron fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) had used to simulate the experimental data. The simulation results were evaluated using mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), whereas the results showed that the prediction of ANFIS model has a good agreement with experimental data when the MAPE is equal to 7.0458 and fuzzy rule -based modeling proved a reliable and flexible tool to study the performance of multimedia filter. The conclusion showed that there is a relationship between flow rate, effective size and optimum bed depth for all filter media, the increment of effective size generates a higher value of optimum filter bed depth for a lower value of filtration rate. It was concluded that the optimal removal efficiency (95-100) achieved by (0.5-0.7 mm) grain size of sand, (1.5-1.9) mm grain size of granular activated carbon (GAC), with media depths should range from 0.3 to 0.6 m.展开更多

Fu...This paper presents a fuzzy logic based three phase four wire four-leg shunt active power filter to suppress harmonic currents. Modified instantaneous p-q theory is adopted for calculating the compensating current. Fuzzy-adaptive hysteresis band technique is applied for the current control to derive the switching signals for the voltage source inverter. A fuzzy logic controller is developed to control the voltage of the DC capacitor. Computer simulations are carried out on a sample power system to demonstrate the suitability of the proposed control strategy, for harmonic reduction under three different conditions namely, ideal, unbalance, unbalance and distorted source voltage conditions. The proposed control strategy is found to be effective to reduce the harmonics and compensate reactive power and neutral current and balance load currents under ideal and non-ideal source voltage conditions.展开更多
