Numerical methods which preserves the qualitative properties of Hamiltonian flows ar...In this paper we are concerned with finite difference schemes for the numerical approximation of linear Hamiltonian systems of ODEs. Numerical methods which preserves the qualitative properties of Hamiltonian flows are called symplectic intoprators. Several symplectic methods are known in the class of Runge-Kutta methods. However, no higll order symplectic integrators are known in the class of Linear Multistep Methods (LMMs). Here, by using LMMs as Boundary Value Methods (BVMs), we show that symplectic integrators of arbitrary high order are also available in this class. Moreover, these methods can be used to solve both initial and boundary value problems. In both cases, the properties of the flow of Hamiltonian systems are 'essentially' maintained by the discrete map, at least for linear problems.展开更多
This paper focuses on synthesizing a mixed robust H_2/H_∞ linear parameter varying(LPV) controller for the longitudinal motion of an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle via a high order singular value decomposition(H...This paper focuses on synthesizing a mixed robust H_2/H_∞ linear parameter varying(LPV) controller for the longitudinal motion of an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle via a high order singular value decomposition(HOSVD) approach.The design of hypersonic flight control systems is highly challenging due to the enormous complexity of the vehicle dynamics and the presence of significant uncertainties.Motivated by recent results on both LPV control and tensor-product(TP) model transformation approach,the velocity and altitude tracking control problems for the air-breathing hypersonic vehicle is reduced to that of a state feedback stabilizing controller design for a polytopic LPV system with guaranteed performances.The controller implementation is converted into a convex optimization problem with parameterdependent linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) constraints,which is intuitively tractable using LMI control toolbox.Finally,numerical simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多
The single event effect of a silicon–germanium heterojunction bipolar transistor(SiGe HBT) was thoroughly investigated. By considering the worst bias condition, the sensitive area of the proposed device was scanned w...The single event effect of a silicon–germanium heterojunction bipolar transistor(SiGe HBT) was thoroughly investigated. By considering the worst bias condition, the sensitive area of the proposed device was scanned with a pulsed laser.With variation of the collector bias and pulsed laser incident energy, the single event transient of the SiGe HBT was studied.Moreover, the single event transient produced by laser irradiation at a wavelength of 532 nm was more pronounced than at a wavelength of 1064 nm. Finally, the impact of the equivalent linear energy transfer of the 1064 nm pulsed laser on the single event transient was qualitatively examined by performing technology computer-aided design simulations, and a good consistency between the experimental data and the simulated outcomes was attained.展开更多

In this paper,we present a new method for finding a fixed local-optimal policy for computing the customer lifetime value.The method is developed for a class of ergodic controllable finite Markov chains.We propose an a...In this paper,we present a new method for finding a fixed local-optimal policy for computing the customer lifetime value.The method is developed for a class of ergodic controllable finite Markov chains.We propose an approach based on a non-converging state-value function that fluctuates(increases and decreases) between states of the dynamic process.We prove that it is possible to represent that function in a recursive format using a one-step-ahead fixed-optimal policy.Then,we provide an analytical formula for the numerical realization of the fixed local-optimal strategy.We also present a second approach based on linear programming,to solve the same problem,that implement the c-variable method for making the problem computationally tractable.At the end,we show that these two approaches are related:after a finite number of iterations our proposed approach converges to same result as the linear programming method.We also present a non-traditional approach for ergodicity verification.The validity of the proposed methods is successfully demonstrated theoretically and,by simulated credit-card marketing experiments computing the customer lifetime value for both an optimization and a game theory approach.展开更多
