According to a BBC report,2016 marked the year when virtual reality(VR)transitioned from concept to reality1.VR has emerged in various fields and is highly effective in many ways.The implementation of VR technology in teaching and learning has gradually become popular.Through the 3D realistic learning environment,learners are immersed in the virtual environment.Language education needs to create an immersive English learning environment and atmosphere.Therefore,in order to understand the substantial benefits of integrating VR into English language acquisition,this research will adopt the VR teaching materials to Freshman English Courses.For students who will participate in the use of VR technology to learn English,the pre-test,post-test,and surveys will be analyzed.Through the analysis of questionnaire data,explore whether the VR model is effective in enhancing learning interest and motivation,and evaluate the effectiveness of enhancing language ability learning.This research is based on the Technology Acceptance Model,using Pivot Report and SPSS software to analyze the results of the tests.Pearson correlation coefficient analysis will be also adopted to explore the three aspects of the usage of VR:(a)Does VR really work for enhancing learning motivation and interest?;(b)To explore the feasibility of VR in the educational field analyzed by the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM,Technology Acceptance Model);and(c)Learning effectiveness of the participants.The results of this research will provide references for language teachers who would like to implement innovative teaching,enrich teaching materials,and enhance learning effectiveness. 展开更多

To ensure the safety and efficacy of Chinese herbs,it is of great significance to conduct rapid quality detection of Chinese herbs at every link of their supply chain.Spectroscopic technology can reflect the overall chemical composition and structural characteristics of Chinese herbs,with the multi-component and multitarget characteristics of Chinese herbs.This review took the genus Paris as an example,and applications of spectroscopic technology with machine learning(ML)in supply chain of the genus Paris from seeds to medicinal materials were introduced.The specific contents included the confirmation of germplasm resources,identification of growth years,cultivar,geographical origin,and original processing and processing methods.The potential application of spectroscopic technology in genus Paris was pointed out,and the prospects of combining spectroscopic technology with blockchain were proposed.The summary and prospects presented in this paper will be beneficial to the quality control of the genus Paris in all links of its supply chain,so as to rationally use the genus Paris resources and ensure the safety and efficacy of medication. 展开更多

A procedure to recognize individual discontinuities in rock mass from measurement while drilling(MWD)technology is developed,using the binary pattern of structural rock characteristics obtained from in-hole images for calibration.Data from two underground operations with different drilling technology and different rock mass characteristics are considered,which generalizes the application of the methodology to different sites and ensures the full operational integration of MWD data analysis.Two approaches are followed for site-specific structural model building:a discontinuity index(DI)built from variations in MWD parameters,and a machine learning(ML)classifier as function of the drilling parameters and their variability.The prediction ability of the models is quantitatively assessed as the rate of recognition of discontinuities observed in borehole logs.Differences between the parameters involved in the models for each site,and differences in their weights,highlight the site-dependence of the resulting models.The ML approach offers better performance than the classical DI,with recognition rates in the range 89%to 96%.However,the simpler DI still yields fairly accurate results,with recognition rates 70%to 90%.These results validate the adaptive MWD-based methodology as an engineering solution to predict rock structural condition in underground mining operations. 展开更多

As technology becomes increasingly integrated into the teaching and learning processes at the university level, it is imperative that research be conducted in relation to the impact of technology acquisition on minority learning populations. Research suggests that we need to improve the ways technology is applied, adopted and introduced and that higher levels of support should be provided to minority and nontraditional learning populations as they immerse themselves into higher education environments. Avenues for discussion of cost-effective technology integration and transition are explored; data identifies a need for more effective selection and alignment of learning needs with learning tools earlier on in the process of technology implementation across campuses. Research suggests this supports student presence, persistence, retention and success. Without it, however, we fail to support the very learners we seek to provide higher levels of access and opportunity. This failure will impact learners and institutions alike by placing disadvantage populations in precarious positions and universities having to choose between cultural, economic and human capital. Along with the development of information and communications technology,open educational resources were widely applied in training usage.The use of these resources facilitates the access to knowledge by enabling learners to transcend time and space.In this way,learners are able to obtain new knowledge more actively and efficiently than before.Using Technology Acceptance Model(TAM)as the theoretical foundation,this study aims to explore the learning outcome of using open educational resources with the perceived convenience as the external variable.In this study,the open educational resources were defined as online courses on the Open Course Ware(OCW)and Massive Open Online Courses(MOOCs),on which the learners choose courses themselves and study without the impact from people,matters,time,space,and things with the help of the Internet.To achieve the objectives of the study,the researchers conducted a survey with the participants who had already used the open educational resources.In total,124 valid samples were collected.The Partial Least Squares(PLS)statistical method was used to carry out the analysis.Overall,the model of this study has good prediction and explanatory power.After the data analysis,the study found that the perceived convenience exerts a positive impact on the use of the open educational resources.In addition,among the four TAM variables,the perceived usefulness does not exert a significant impact on the behavioral intention to use,but the other three TAM variables all have a significant impact on the behavioral intention. 展开更多

The present paper focuses on independent, collaborative and supportive learning environment in the class to mould the reluctant learners. It also brings out the differences between conventional learning and technology assisted learning. In the midst of thousands of soft ware available, it is difficult for one to choose which is most suitable, to use friendly English learning process and which will be specific, more and more learners center and the need for such soft wares is given specific high light here. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, e-learning has begun to be widely used and applied in the teaching and learning processes. However, learning under technological circumstances has proven not always to be a proper solution in education. A highlight challenge, in this regard, is considered to be learning Mathematics online. While some support its positive impact, others greatly oppose it by arguing that neither teaching nor learning has proven successful. Thus, this study examines Kosovo selected universities to see the effectiveness of learning Mathematics online as a case study. Further, it compares the online and traditional learning methods and explores how teachers in higher education in Kosova Universities apply and integrate technology into learning mathematics. This study employed a methodology encompassing questionnaires for students. The results show that students are not overall satisfied with learning Mathematics online leading to the conclusion that online learning is not an effective educational method for learning Mathematics. 展开更多

A distance learning Continuing Medical Education (CME) project based on live interactive presentations and a group participatory model demonstrated that important strides can be made in the quality of CME available to health care professionals in African rural settings. Implementers choose a communication model consistent with the fundamental orality of Kenyan and other sub-Saharan African countries. The project involved four hospitals and one training institution in rural Kenya. The testing of learners and focus group discussions with learners, facilitators and presenters indicated that the project's methodologies, that strove to be culturally and work place friendly, contributed to gains in knowledge, competencies including case management, the continuity of patient care, team work, staff morale and other issues of expressed importance to the hospital healthcare work force and hospital administrators. The learning system, known as Advancing Continuing Medical Education through Information Technology (ACME-IT), was implemented by the Kenyan Ministry of Medical Services, EC Associates and the US-funded Aphia2 Western initiative implemented by PATH. The findings of this pilot suggests that the ACME-IT methodology that set up learning centers at the participating institutions is a promising viable alternative to the traditional and relatively expensive workshop training that characterizes much of CME in lower and middle income countries. 展开更多

As the information on telecommunication products updates rapidly, using E-learning in staff training becomes an edge for company operation. However, previous studies showed that staff's attitude toward E-learning significantly affected the outcomes of training. The purpose of this study is to investigate the acceptance of E-learning in a telecommunication company. The researchers adopted the technology acceptance model (TAM) and diffusion of innovation theory to evaluate the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on E-learning, in addition to employees' self-directed learning motivation, attitude toward computers, and organizational influence. We randomly chose 571 employees of the telecommunication entrepreneur at the Taichung office in Taiwan to participate in this survey. The result showed that employees' background factors such as age, job position, marital status, education level and the scale of job unit had the significant impact on behavioral intention to use E-learning. Employees' self-directed learning, attitude toward computers, and organizational influence respectively also had positive effects on perceived usefulness of E-learning and perceived ease of use of E-learning. Furthermore, employees' perceived usefulness of E-learning and perceived ease of use of E-learning also had a positive effect on behavioral intention to use E-learning systems. 展开更多

A program is created using several multi media software to simulate the mechanism of moulding processes in order to let s tudents understand the concept of mould design. In addition, students can even access the program through the Internet. Therefore, the software is defined as Multimedia and Internet Technology (MIT) program. The MIT program consists of four sections: (i) simulation of mould mechanisms, ( ii) cooling system, (iii) material information and (iv) games for tutorials. Sec tion One covers the basic operations of different types of moulds such as two-p late mould, three-plate mould, split mould, side-core mould and mould with und ercuts. Section Two introduces different types of cooling systems such as bubble r, baffle, cooling circuits, etc. Section Three provides some useful material in formation for mould design. Section Four contains games of matching mould compon ents, mould design problem finding and multiple choice questions to test student s how much they understand mould design concept. Multimedia is highly effective particularly in teaching and learning. It changes the nature of learning itself. It makes reading dynamic by giving words an impo rtant new dimension. It allows students to see, hear and do simultaneously, thus significantly reducing average learning time. Furthermore, through cooperative learning on Internet, students can access the program, share data or search info rmation anytime anywhere. In this study, the connection between organizational innovation (OI) and OL within the inf3rmation and communication technology (ICT) industry in Malaysia is surveyed. These relationships are examined, because various previous inquiries have shown that an imperative precursor to firm performance is OL. Two hundred and seventy-eight surveys were completed by small and medium organizations across Malaysia. The connections existing between the causes of OL and the causes of OI were ascertained by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Amongst the Malaysian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that participated in fire study, OI and OL are considerably linked. 展开更多
