Large Language Model (LLM-ChatGPT) and Learner Autonomy: Teaching Present Simple Tense as a Model

Learner autonomy stands on the top priorities of scholars due to its pivotal role in fostering student-centered learning methods. It empowers the learners to be in charge of their learning process and be the center of attention in language learning education. For this purpose, different AI tools were used and implemented in pedagogy to narrow the divide in promoting learning/teaching approaches. This study aims to gauge the impact of using LLM-ChatGPT to teach EFL learners the present simple tense autonomously via providing automated feedback, and chances for regular drillings without over reliance on teacher. It also aims to investigate the EFL learners’ perception of using LLM-ChatGPT as a reinforcement approach to learner autonomy. A cohort comprising 50 EFL learners would participate in the study and a between subject design method using control and experimental groups would be implemented. The findings of the study indicated that learners who were taught present simple tense’s rule through using LLM-ChatGPT application, with less teacher’s dominance, scored grades similar to those who were taught the same tense’s rule by the teacher (sage on the stage approach). This substantiates the idea that LLM-Chat GPT acts a role akin to teachers in teaching grammatical rules. Moreover, the learners felt that LLM-ChatGPT application had a positive impact on fostering autonomous learning. 展开更多

Teacher autonomy and teacher job satisfaction: A chain-mediated model of self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation

This study aimed to explore the mediating roles of self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation on the relationship between teacher autonomy and teacher job satisfaction.Data were from the Teaching and Learning International Survey(TALIS 2018),with a sample of 3131 junior high school teachers(female=2337;male=794)from Shanghai,China.The mediating effect was analyzed using structural equation modeling.The results showed that teacher autonomy was positively associated with teacher job satisfaction,self-efficacy,and intrinsic motivation.Both self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation were associated with teacher job satisfaction.Self-efficacy was associated with teacher intrinsic motivation.Self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation not only served as independent mediators between teacher autonomy and teacher job satisfaction but also played a chain mediating role.Moreover,the separate mediating effect of self-efficacy was the most significant.Findings are consistent with the job demands-resources model by which diminished teacher autonomy ould explain lower teacher job satisfaction. 展开更多

Trump's victory in November 2024 once again had a strong impact on the European Union.However,unlike when Trump won the election for the first time in 2016,there have been some disturbing development trends in US-Europe relations.The imbalance in relations between the US and Europe has become even more pronounced.Whether in important fields such as the economy,finance,science and technology,or the military,the gap between the European Union and the United States is widening.Meanwhile,Europe's dependence on the United States is also increasing.Especially since the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis,it has formed an all-round dependence on the United States in terms of security,energy,markets,as well as capital and technology.The increasing imbalance in US-Europe relations has triggered anxiety in Europe,including concerns that Europe might become a“vassal”of the United States.During Trump's second term,Europe may be more inclined to cater to the United States and submit to its demands more often.However,under internal and external pressures,it may also accelerate the process of promoting strategic autonomy.Where the European Union will go will largely depend on the direction and intensity of policy adjustments during Trump's second term. 展开更多

Background:Recent scholarly attention has increasingly focused on filial piety beliefs'impact on youth's psychological development.However,the mechanisms by which filial piety indirectly influences adolescent autonomy through depression and well-being remain underexplored.This study aimed to test a sequential mediation model among filial piety beliefs,depression,well-being,and autonomy in Taiwan region of China university students.Methods:A total of 566 Taiwan region of China undergraduate and graduate students,comprising 390 females and 176 males,and including 399 undergraduates and 167 graduate students,were recruited through convenience sampling.Data were collected via an online questionnaire.Validated instruments were employed,including the Filial Piety Scale(FPS),the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D),the Chinese Well-being Inventory(CHI),and the Adolescent Autonomy Scale-Short Form(AAS-SF).Statistical analyses included group comparisons,correlation analyses,and structural equation modeling to examine the hypothesized relationships and mediation effects.Results:The results revealed that filial piety beliefs exerted a significant positive impact on adolescent autonomy,with depression and well-being serving as key mediators in this relationship.A sequential mediation effect was confirmed through structural equation modeling(β=0.052,95%CI[0.028,0.091]),with good model fit indices(x^(2)/df=4.25,RMSEA=0.076,CFI=0.968),supporting the hypothesized pathway from filial piety to autonomy via depression and well-being.In terms of demographic differences,male students showed significantly higher autonomy than females(p<0.001);students from single-parent families reported significantly higher depression levels than those from two-parent families(p<0.05);and graduate students exhibited significantly higher autonomy and well-being than undergraduates(p<0.05).Conclusions:These findings underscore not only the importance of filial piety beliefs for developing youth autonomy but also the critical role that mental health factors,such as depression and well-being,play in this process.The study concludes with a discussion of both theoretical implications and practical recommendations.These include strategies to foster reciprocal filial piety,strengthen parent-child relationships,and promote mental health.Additionally,the study outlines its limitations and proposes directions for future research. 展开更多

Parental autonomy support effects on children’s school adjustment:The longitudinal mediating effect of executive function

This longitudinal study examined the association between parental autonomy support and school-aged children’s adjustment across four major domains of school functioning,as well as the mediating role of children’s executive function.Participants were 476 school-aged children(girl:49.2%,M_(age)=10.49 years,SD=1.32 years),who completed the Psychological Autonomy Support Scale,the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function–2,and the Primary School Students’Psychological Suzhi Scale at baseline and at two subsequent follow-up assessments.Results from unconditional latent growth curve models and structural equation modeling indicated that paternal autonomy support was a significant predictor of children’s adjustment across all four school domains.In contrast,maternal autonomy support was significantly associated only with interpersonal adjustment.Both the intercept(initial level)and slope(rate of change)of children’s executive function significantly predicted their adjustment in all four domains.Notably,the initial level of executive function fully mediated the association between paternal autonomy support and school adjustment,whereas the rate of change in executive function did not serve as a significant mediator.Thesefindings underscore the importance of promoting parental autonomy-supportive behaviors-particularly among fathers-as a means to enhance children’s executive functioning and,consequently,their school adjustment. 展开更多

“自治”的观念植根于人类本性与政治社会的运作之中,但一直以来被作为一种被遮蔽的理想而为各种政治形式和道德理念作支撑,对“自治”本身的诠释呈现出碎片化,忽略了对其本来特质的关注,导致自治理想与现实脱节。因此,弥合自治的规范... “自治”的观念植根于人类本性与政治社会的运作之中,但一直以来被作为一种被遮蔽的理想而为各种政治形式和道德理念作支撑,对“自治”本身的诠释呈现出碎片化,忽略了对其本来特质的关注,导致自治理想与现实脱节。因此,弥合自治的规范目标与现实样态之间的差距需要厘清自治的本义及其规范性基础,搭建起个体自治与公共自治之间的桥梁,在自治的自主性、反思性与公共性的统一中塑造对话性自治。尤其是需要对反思性予以扩展性理解,既包含个人内部反思的成分,又包含一个“向外说明”的反思;不仅指涉个体层面,而且指向群体层面的反思。由此,基于反思、偏好转换和深思熟虑的“协商性”成为自治行动的根基,有效自治的实现需要在伦理的、认知的和民主的多重目标下着力于自治的制度化,构建有弹性的制度空间、有活力的制度情感与有效率的公共讨论。 展开更多

电商平台自治的分权化转型,是维护平台内经营主体权益、实现平台善治的关键切入点。平台自治权的高度集中,逐渐演化为具有类“公权力”属性的力量,并借助自治规则呈现出侵害内部商家权益的倾向,具体表现为平台规则生成的单向性、规则执... 电商平台自治的分权化转型,是维护平台内经营主体权益、实现平台善治的关键切入点。平台自治权的高度集中,逐渐演化为具有类“公权力”属性的力量,并借助自治规则呈现出侵害内部商家权益的倾向,具体表现为平台规则生成的单向性、规则执行的失衡性以及争议裁量时的非中立性。面对平台自治权力的滥用,现有规制困境源于自治权的强势根基、商家权益保障的规则缺位以及平台自治权滥用的事后规制乏力。有鉴于此,可推动平台自治的分权化,即立足平台私属性事实,坚守权责相称原则,依托软硬协同的法治方法,最终勾勒出内外联动的平台内部治理蓝图。在平台自治分权化的实践中,可通过赋予商户集体参与权、明确政府对平台内部自治权的界定,并结合平台内部自治权力运行时的法治约束,实现赋权、确权与控权的分权化治理路径。 展开更多

人工智能嵌入视域下员工威胁感知对工作繁荣的双重影响机制研究

人工智能嵌入带来的威胁感知日益受到广泛关注,探讨威胁感知对工作状态的影响机制,对提升组织技术融合效能具有重要意义。基于自我决定理论,从员工自我效能感和工作自主性视角,构建威胁感知对工作繁荣的双重影响机制,并强调新技术接受... 人工智能嵌入带来的威胁感知日益受到广泛关注,探讨威胁感知对工作状态的影响机制,对提升组织技术融合效能具有重要意义。基于自我决定理论,从员工自我效能感和工作自主性视角,构建威胁感知对工作繁荣的双重影响机制,并强调新技术接受度在其中的关键作用。通过问卷法收集355份有效样本,采用SPSS 27.0和AMOS 28.0对数据进行信度与结构效度检验,并运用SPSS Process 4.0对理论模型进行检验。研究结果表明:一方面,威胁感知通过降低自我效能感削弱员工工作繁荣;另一方面,威胁感知通过提升工作自主性促进员工工作繁荣。此外,新技术接受度不仅能调节威胁感知对自我效能感的负向影响,还能增强威胁感知对工作自主性的正向影响。研究为理解人工智能时代员工认知与决策反应提供理论依据,并为企业有效应对人工智能嵌入带来的挑战,促进员工工作繁荣提出实践启示。 展开更多
