Western diet(rich in highly refined sugar and fat)can induce a range of metabolic dysfunctions in animals and humans,including neuroinflammation and cognitive function decline.Neuroinflammation and cognitive impairmen...Western diet(rich in highly refined sugar and fat)can induce a range of metabolic dysfunctions in animals and humans,including neuroinflammation and cognitive function decline.Neuroinflammation and cognitive impairment,two critical pathological characteristics of Alzheimer’s disease,have been closely associated with microbial alteration via the gut-brain axis.Thus,the present study aimed to investigate the influence of 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-L-ascorbic acid(AA-2βG)isolated from the fruits of Lycium barbarum on preventing the high-fructose diet(HFrD)induced neuroinflammation in mice.It was found that AA-2βG prevented HFr D-induced cognitive deficits.AA-2βG also predominantly enhanced the gut barrier integrity,decreased lipopolysaccharide entry into the circulation,which subsequently countered the activation of glial cells and neuroinflammatory response.These beneficial effects were transmissible by horizontal fecal microbiome transplantation,transferring from AA-2βG fed mice to HFr D fed mice.Additionally,AA-2βG exerted neuroprotective effects involving the enrichment of Lactobacillus and Akkermansia,potentially beneficial intestinal bacteria.The present study provided the evidence that AA-2βG could improve indices of cognition and neuroinflammmation via modulating gut dybiosis and preventing leaky gut.As a potential functional food ingredient,AA-2βG may be applied to attenuate neuroinflammation associated with Western-style diets.展开更多

Plasma endotoxin levels ...A "leaky gut" may be the cutting edge for the passage of toxins, antigens or bacteria into the body, and may play a pathogenic role in advanced liver cirrhosis and its complications. Plasma endotoxin levels have been admitted as a surrogate marker of bacterial translocation and close relations of endotoxemia to hyperdynamic circulation, portal hypertension, renal, cardiac, pulmonary and coagulation disturbances have been reported. Bacterial overgrowth, increased intestinal permeability, failure to inactivate endotoxin,activated innate immunity are all likely to play a role in the pathological states of bacterial translocation. Therapeutic approach by management of the gut-liver axis by antibiotics, probiotics, synbiotics, prebiotics and their combinations may improve the clinical course of cirrhotic patients. Special concern should be paid on anti-endotoxin treatment. Adequate management of the gut-liver axis may be effective for prevention of liver cirrhosis itself by inhibiting the progression of fibrosis.展开更多
Gut flora and bacterial translocation (BT) play important roles in the pathogenesis of chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis and its complications. Intestinal bacterial overgrowth and increased bacterial transloc...Gut flora and bacterial translocation (BT) play important roles in the pathogenesis of chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis and its complications. Intestinal bacterial overgrowth and increased bacterial translocation of gut flora from the intestinal lumen predispose patients to bacterial infections, major complications and also play a role in the pathogenesis of chronic liver disorders. Levels of bacterial lipopolysaccharide, a component of gram-negative bacteria, are increased in the portal and/or systemic circulation in several types of chronic liver disease. Impaired gut epithelial integrity due to alterations in tight junction proteins may be the pathological mechanism underlying bacterial translocation. Preclinical and clinical studies over the last decade have suggested a role for BT in the pathogenesis of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Bacterial overgrowth, immune dysfunction, alteration of the luminal factors, and altered intestinal permeability are all involved in the pathogenesis of NASH and its complications. A better understanding of the cell-specific recognition and intracellular signaling events involved in sensing gut-derived microbes will help in the development of means to achieve an optimal balance in the gut-liver axis and ameliorate liver diseases. These may suggest new targets for potential therapeutic interventions for the treatment of NASH. Here, we review some of the mechanisms connecting BT and NASH and potential therapeutic developments.展开更多
We propose a single-beam leaky-wave antenna(LWA) with a wide-scanning angle and a high-scanning rate based on spoof surface plasmon polariton(SSPP) in this paper. The SSPP transmission line(TL) is etched with periodic...We propose a single-beam leaky-wave antenna(LWA) with a wide-scanning angle and a high-scanning rate based on spoof surface plasmon polariton(SSPP) in this paper. The SSPP transmission line(TL) is etched with periodically arranged circular patches, which converts the slow-wave mode into the fast-wave region for radiation. The proposed LWA is designed, fabricated, and tested. The simulated results imply that the proposed LWA not only achieves a high radiation efficiency of about 81.4%, and a high scanning rate of 12.12, but also has a large scanning angle of 176° over a narrow operation bandwidth of 8.3-9.6 GHz(for |S_(11)| <-10 dB). In addition, the simulated average gain of the LWA can reach as high as 10.9 d Bi. The measured scanning angle range is 175° in the operation band of 8.2-9.6 GHz, and the measured average gain is 10.6 dBi. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation, validating its performance. An antenna with high radiation efficiency, wide scanning angle range, and high scanning rate has great potential for application in radar and wireless communication systems.展开更多

Since communication path is unknown a priori, adoption of PEP sol...Internet access is becoming even more heterogeneous, including different wireless backhauling links, with Ka-band satellites as a possible alternative. Since communication path is unknown a priori, adoption of PEP solutions to optimize TCP performance over satellite is discouraged to allow dynamic network reconfigurations. To opposite, an endto-end TCP performance evaluation on such a challenging scenario, with possible large latency and transmission losses, is herein considered of paramount importance. Several TCP variants exist to tackle different aspects of communication networks. In Linux, the different TCP congestion control schemes differ from the theoretical formulations and RFC specifications, introducing a varying set of optimizations and options. This aspect makes difficult to identify a standard/reference TCP version for the proposed scenario, while testing with the real protocol stacks is deemed necessary to obtain consistent results. In addition, an innovative end-to-end TCP, namely TCP Wave, is introduced to replace the traditional window-based transmission with a burst-based strategy, representing a valid alternative to Linux TCP. To offer a fair, realistic and comprehensive evaluation, we configured a simulation setup where different Linux TCPs can be run within ns-3 network simulator and compared with TCP Wave.展开更多

It is shown that when the exciton is initially in a squeezed coherent state whereas cavity initially in a vacuum state, there is energy exchange between the exciton and cavity. Both the exciton and cavity may exhibit sub-Poissonian distribution and exist quadrature squeezing. Calculation shows that correlation between the exciton and cavity is classical, which implies that there is not the violation of the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality.展开更多
A structural analysis was undertaken in the South Iceland Seismic Zone (SISZ) transform zone, and in the Hreppar Microplate (HMP) located between the propagating Eastern Rift Zone (ERZ) and the receding Western Rift Z...A structural analysis was undertaken in the South Iceland Seismic Zone (SISZ) transform zone, and in the Hreppar Microplate (HMP) located between the propagating Eastern Rift Zone (ERZ) and the receding Western Rift Zone (WRZ). The age of the oceanic crust in these areas is 3.4 Ma to present. About 20,000 fracture segments on aerial images reflect the dominance of NNE extensional structures in the WRZ. Around 9,000 basement faults, intrusions, secondary fractures, surface ruptures of earthquakes, and leakages were mapped in the outcrops of the HMP and the SISZ. About 23% of these fractures strike NNE, while 77% are dominantly northerly dextral and ENE sinistral, and secondarily E-W, WNW and NW sinistral strike- and oblique-slip structures, forming a Riedel shear pattern typical of a transform zone. Dyke injections into Riedel shears indicate a leaky transform zone. Fractures reactivated, accumulated slip, and re-opened for fluid flow. The ENE faults dip mostly to the southeast and could be the present boundary of the SISZ to the north. A 10 - 30 km wide ENE structural zone hosts a valley to the east, which could be deeper in the west. This ENE zone contains all the earthquakes, dominant ENE rivers, frequent ENE secondary fractures, and is likely the active part of the SISZ. The HMP does not show rotation since 3.4 Ma despite being between two rift segments. Future propagation/recession of the rift segments along their N55°E sections would cause a migration and a clockwise rotation of the SISZ from ENE to E-W. The boundary faults of the SISZ would then be E-W, with unchanged internal Riedel shears, compensating its sinistral motion. Insights into complexities of diverging plate boundaries are critical for resource management in such tectonic contexts.展开更多

An iterative algorithm, which can be used to calculate the IBP probability distribution, is presented. The bursty source’s equivalent description is discussed. It is proposed that the leaky bucket output process can be approximately described as the IBP. The accuracy of the analytical results has been largely validated by means of the simulation approach. The complete mode coupling can take place when both the phase and loss matching conditions are satisfied at the avoided anti-crossing wavelength. It shows the influences of cladding structure parameters including the diameters of cladding air holes d1, diameters of outer core holes d2 and hole to hole pitch A on the characteristics of leaky modes coupling. The detection method cumulates the deviation of current delivering status from history behavior based on a weighted sum method called the leaky integrate-and-fire model to detect anomaly. The simplicity of the detection method is that the method need not store history profile and low computation overhead, which makes the detection method itself immunes to attacks. The performance is investigated in terms of detection probability, the false alarm ratio, and the detection delay. The results show that leaky integrate-and-fire method is quite effective at detecting constant intensity attacks and increasing intensity attacks. Compared with the non-parametric cumulative sum method, the evaluation results show that the proposed detection method has shorter detection latency and higher detection probability.展开更多

The communication system of high-speed trains in railway tunnels needs to be built with leaky cables fixed on the tunnel wall with special fixtures.To ensure safety,checking the regular leaky cable fixture is necessar...The communication system of high-speed trains in railway tunnels needs to be built with leaky cables fixed on the tunnel wall with special fixtures.To ensure safety,checking the regular leaky cable fixture is necessary to elimi-nate the potential danger.At present,the existing fixture detection algorithms are difficult to take into account detection accuracy and speed at the same time.The faulty fixture is also insufficient and difficult to obtain,seriously affecting the model detection effect.To solve these problems,an innovative detection method is proposed in this paper.Firstly,we presented the Res-Net and Wasserstein-Deep Convolution GAN(RW-DCGAN)to implement data augmentation,which can enable the faulty fixture to export more high-quality and irregular images.Secondly,we proposed the Ghost SENet-YOLOv5(GS-YOLOv5)to enhance the expression of fixture feature,and further improve the detection accuracy and speed.Finally,we adopted the model compression strategy to prune redundant channels,and visualized training details with Grad-CAM to verify the reliability of our model.Experimental results show that the algorithm model is 69.06%smaller than the original YOLOv5 model,with 70.07%fewer parameters,2.1%higher accuracy and 14.82 fps faster speed,meeting the needs of tunnel fixture detection.展开更多
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) suffers from a relatively small sensitivity—at least in case of optical detection transversely to the capillary axis due to the small capillary inner diameters in the range of 50 - 100 ...Capillary electrophoresis (CE) suffers from a relatively small sensitivity—at least in case of optical detection transversely to the capillary axis due to the small capillary inner diameters in the range of 50 - 100 μm. Different concepts like bubble, U-, or Z-cells have been used to tackle that problem already in the nineties of the last century. But the U- and Z-cells have typically been extra cells with larger inner channel diameters and no optimization for optical waveguiding and the bubble cell per se did not allow for optical waveguiding. In the case of on-chip capillary electrophoresis (chip-CE) a U-cell can be implemented quite easily on the chip. Here we show how leaky optical waveguiding can be employed to improve optical detection. Proper U-channel design and preparation by wet-chemical etching of the fused silica sub- and superstrate, making the U-channel bend a part of the optical input lens system, can help to achieve high coupling efficiency with loss coefficients around 2 dB and low waveguiding loss.展开更多

The analytical expression of the relation among leaky bucket performance, statistical parameters of input traffic and leaky bucket, parameters for various priority services is obtained, and the effect of adjustment factor on leaky bucket performance of higher-priority service and lower-priority service is studied with two priority classes.

文摘This paper theoretically investigates the dependence of leaky mode coupling between inner core fundamental mode and outer core defect mode on phase and loss matching in pure silica dual-core photonic crystal fibres with the multi-pole method. The complete mode coupling can take place when both the phase and loss matching conditions are satisfied at the avoided anti-crossing wavelength. It shows the influences of cladding structure parameters including the diameters of cladding air holes d1, diameters of outer core holes d2 and hole to hole pitch A on the characteristics of leaky modes coupling. The coupled-mode theory is used to analyse the mode transition characteristics and the complete coupling can be clearly indicated by comparing the real and imaginary parts of propagation constant of the leaky modes.
文摘This paper investigated an effective and robust mechanism for detecting simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) traffic anomaly. The detection method cumulates the deviation of current delivering status from history behavior based on a weighted sum method called the leaky integrate-and-fire model to detect anomaly. The simplicity of the detection method is that the method need not store history profile and low computation overhead, which makes the detection method itself immunes to attacks. The performance is investigated in terms of detection probability, the false alarm ratio, and the detection delay. The results show that leaky integrate-and-fire method is quite effective at detecting constant intensity attacks and increasing intensity attacks. Compared with the non-parametric cumulative sum method, the evaluation results show that the proposed detection method has shorter detection latency and higher detection probability.
文摘According to the current working status of underground safety management and production scheduling, the importance and existed problem of underground mine radio communication were summarized, and the basic principle and classification of leaky feeder cable were introduced and the characteristics of cable were analyzed specifically in depth, and the application model of radio communication system for underground mine safety management was put forward. Meanwhile, the research explanation of the system component, function and evaluation was provided. The discussion result indicates that communication system of underground mine safety management which is integrated two-way relay amplifier and other equipment has many communication functions, and underground mine mobile communication can be achieved well.

文摘The communication system of high-speed trains in railway tunnels needs to be built with leaky cables fixed on the tunnel wall with special fixtures.To ensure safety,checking the regular leaky cable fixture is necessary to elimi-nate the potential danger.At present,the existing fixture detection algorithms are difficult to take into account detection accuracy and speed at the same time.The faulty fixture is also insufficient and difficult to obtain,seriously affecting the model detection effect.To solve these problems,an innovative detection method is proposed in this paper.Firstly,we presented the Res-Net and Wasserstein-Deep Convolution GAN(RW-DCGAN)to implement data augmentation,which can enable the faulty fixture to export more high-quality and irregular images.Secondly,we proposed the Ghost SENet-YOLOv5(GS-YOLOv5)to enhance the expression of fixture feature,and further improve the detection accuracy and speed.Finally,we adopted the model compression strategy to prune redundant channels,and visualized training details with Grad-CAM to verify the reliability of our model.Experimental results show that the algorithm model is 69.06%smaller than the original YOLOv5 model,with 70.07%fewer parameters,2.1%higher accuracy and 14.82 fps faster speed,meeting the needs of tunnel fixture detection.
文摘Capillary electrophoresis (CE) suffers from a relatively small sensitivity—at least in case of optical detection transversely to the capillary axis due to the small capillary inner diameters in the range of 50 - 100 μm. Different concepts like bubble, U-, or Z-cells have been used to tackle that problem already in the nineties of the last century. But the U- and Z-cells have typically been extra cells with larger inner channel diameters and no optimization for optical waveguiding and the bubble cell per se did not allow for optical waveguiding. In the case of on-chip capillary electrophoresis (chip-CE) a U-cell can be implemented quite easily on the chip. Here we show how leaky optical waveguiding can be employed to improve optical detection. Proper U-channel design and preparation by wet-chemical etching of the fused silica sub- and superstrate, making the U-channel bend a part of the optical input lens system, can help to achieve high coupling efficiency with loss coefficients around 2 dB and low waveguiding loss.
