The focus of green analytical chemistry(GAC)is to minimize the negative impacts of analytical procedures on human safety,human health,and the environment.Several factors,such as the reagents used,sample collection,sample processing,instruments,energy consumed,and the quantities of hazardous materials and waste generated during analytical procedures,need to be considered in the evaluation of the greenness of analytical assays.In this study,we propose a greenness evaluation metric for analytical methods(GEMAM).The new greenness metric is simple,flexible,and comprehensive.The evaluation criteria are based on both the 12 principles of GAC(SIGNIFICANCE)and the 10 factors of sample preparation,and the results are presented on a 0–10 scale.The GEMAM calculation process is easy to perform,and its results are easy to interpret.The output of GEMAM is a pictogram that can provide both qualitative and quantitative information based on color and number. 展开更多

However, the number of OSS is vast, and its quality varies from low to high. So how people can evaluate OSS and ensta-e that it is reliable for use becomes necessary. This paper proposes a set of reliability evaluation metrics considering the states of OSS selected in the early stage. Understandability, Fault tolerance & Recoverability and Community Matmrity as sub-attributes of reliability are defined, and then several evaluation criteria for each of them are identified. A process of reliability evaluation in our study is proposed. For application, we select four OSS projects and evaluate them with our metrics. As a result of compadrison with other evaluation model for OSS, our research presents an easy, effective and trustworthy way for selecting a reliable OSS. 展开更多

The use of mobile phone applications for our touristic activity is very common nowadays with the simplification of smartphones. The tourism mobile applications currently can be argued to be one of the most useful applications that can facilitate the movement of travelers. However, existing usability evaluation metrics are too general to be applied to a more specific application, such as mobile tourism application. Thus, the objective of the study is to propose usability evaluation metrics for tourism mobile applications. The study employs four phases: identifying problem and the objective, encompassing the techniques of developing usability measurement of metrics, selecting the usability metrics of tourism mobile application and conducting expert review and verification. The verification phase was conducted using expert review approach to measure the proposed metrics in terms of its consistency ease of use, understandable, verifiable and overall impression. The finding revealed that the proposed metrics have been well received by the experts in terms of consistency, ease to use, understandable, verifiability and overall impression. Finally, this study presented usability metrics for the tourism mobile applications that can be used by designers or usability practitioners in creating a useable mobile application for the tourists. 展开更多

It makes testing more effective as it contribute to carry out the testing in an early stage of the software development. To improve software testability, the software architect should consider different testability metrics while building the software architecture. The main objective of this research is to conduct an early assessment of the software architecture for the purpose of its improvement in order to make the testing process more effective. In this paper, an evaluation model to assess software architecture (Architecture Design Testability Evaluation Model (ADTEM)) is presented. ADTEM is based on two different testability metrics: cohesion and coupling. ADTEM consists of two phases: software architecture evaluation phase, and component evaluation phase. In each phase, a fuzzy inference system is used to perform the evaluation process based on cohesion and coupling testing metrics. The model is validated by using a case study: Elders Monitoring System. The experimental results show that ADTEM is efficient and gave a considerable improvement to the software testability process. 展开更多

The development of electrochemical capacitors(i.e.supercapacitors)have attracted a lot of attention in recent years because of the increasing demand for efficient,high-power energy storage.Electrochemical capacitors(ECs)are particularly attractive for transportation and renewable energy generation applications,taking advantage of their superior power capability and outstanding cycle life.Over the past decade,various advanced electrode materials and cell design are being studied to improve the energy density of ECs.Hybrid Li-ion capacitors and pseudo-capacitors that utilize fast surface redox reactions of metal oxide and doped polymers are the prime candidates being considered.This paper is concerned with the metrics being used to describe the performance of ECs and how the metrics are evaluated by testing devices and how the data from the testing are best interpreted.Emphasize is on relating testing of advanced ECs using materials more complex than activated carbons to testing electric double-layer capacitors(EDLCs)using carbon in both electrodes.A second focus of the paper is projecting the potential of the advanced materials and ionic liquid electrolytes for the development of complete EC cells having an energy density more than a factor of ten greater the energy density of the EDLC devices currently on the market.This potential was evaluated by calculating the performance(energy and power)of a series of ECs that utilize the advanced materials that have been studied by electrochemists over the past 10-15 years.The capacitance and resistance of the advanced ECs were calculated utilizing specific capacitance(F/g or F/cm^(3))and porosity data for the electrode materials and ionic conductivity of the electrolytes.It was concluded that hybrid ECs can be developed with energy densities of at least 50 Wh/kg,70 Wh/L with efficient power greater than 3 k W/kg.Continued research on micro-porous carbons with specific capacitance of 200 F/g and greater is needed.to achieve these EC performance goals. 展开更多

Evaluating grant proposals:lessons from using metrics as screening device

Purpose:This study examines the effects of using publication-based metrics for the initial screening in the application process for a project leader.The key questions are whether formal policy affects the allocation of funds to researchers with a better publication record and how the previous academic performance of principal investigators is related to future project results.Design/methodology/approach:We compared two competitions,before and after the policy raised the publication threshold for the principal investigators.We analyzed 9,167 papers published by 332 winners in physics and the social sciences and humanities(SSH),and 11,253 publications resulting from each funded project.Findings:We found that among physicists,even in the first period,grants tended to be allocated to prolific authors publishing in high-quality journals.In contrast,the SSH project grantees had been less prolific in publishing internationally in both periods;however,in the second period,the selection of grant recipients yielded better results regarding awarding grants to more productive authors in terms of the quantity and quality of publications.There was no evidence that this better selection of grant recipients resulted in better publication records during grant realization.Originality:This study contributes to the discussion of formal policies that rely on metrics for the evaluation of grant proposals.The Russian case shows that such policy may have a profound effect on changing the supply side of applicants,especially in disciplines that are less suitable for metric-based evaluations.In spite of the criticism given to metrics,they might be a useful additional instrument in academic systems where professional expertise is corrupted and prevents allocation of funds to prolific researchers. 展开更多

Analysis of the Relevance of Evaluation Criteria for Multicomponent Image Segmentation

Generally image interpretation depends on it. The materials and methods used to demonstrate are described. The results are presented and analyzed. Several approaches and algorithms for image segmentation have been developed, but it is difficult to evaluate the efficiency and to make an objective comparison of different segmentation methods. This general problem has been addressed for the evaluation of a segmentation result and the results are available in the literature. In this work, we first presented some criteria of evaluation of segmentation commonly used in image processing with reviews of their models. Then multicomponent synthetic images of known composition are applied to these criteria to explore the operation and evaluate its relevance. The results show that choosing an assessment method depends on the purpose, however the criterion of Zeboudj appears powerful for the evaluation of region segmentations for properly separated classes, on the contrary the criteria of Levine-Nazif and Borsotti are adapted to the methods of classification and permit to build homogeneous regions or classes. The values of the Rosenbeger criterion are generally low and similar, so hard to make a comparison of segmentations with this criterion. 展开更多

[目的/意义]各类政策引文数据库因索引范围的差异,可能导致围绕科学论文的政策计量分析结果的不同。需要通过比较研究来理解不同数据库所能提供的数据基础的差异,以更好地支持科研成果的政策影响力计量与评价。[研究设计/方法]比较了同时期内Altmetric和Overton两大主流政策引文数据库收录的政策文件范围的异同。并面向约1,700万篇科学论文,比较了Altmetric和Overton数据库提供的政策引文数据在覆盖范围、数据体量、学科分布等方面的差异。[结论/发现]相比于Altmetric,Overton提供了范围更广、数量更多的政策文件和政策引文,表现出显著的数据优势。但Altmetric与Overton收录的政策文件仅有小部分重合,二者代表了不同决策主体不同的政策观点和科学证据使用行为,难以相互替代,可以互为补充。[创新/价值]在科研成果的政策影响力定量评价中,应注意和警示政策引文数据库选择对结果可能造成的影响,制定合理的数据获取策略,以实现更负责任的评价。 展开更多

变速工况下基于阶次域分析的旋转机械故障诊断方法

针对变工况条件下旋转机械的转速波动会导致振动信号呈现非平稳性的问题,传统故障诊断方法在特征提取的过程中容易受到频率混叠和噪声的干扰,导致诊断精度下降。为此,提出了一种结合计算阶次跟踪(COT)与变分模态分解(VMD)的旋转机械故... 针对变工况条件下旋转机械的转速波动会导致振动信号呈现非平稳性的问题,传统故障诊断方法在特征提取的过程中容易受到频率混叠和噪声的干扰,导致诊断精度下降。为此,提出了一种结合计算阶次跟踪(COT)与变分模态分解(VMD)的旋转机械故障诊断方法。在信号预处理阶段,该方法利用编码器脉冲信号,通过COT算法对原始振动信号进行等角度重采样处理,将变速时域信号映射至阶次域,从而有效削弱转速波动对频谱分析的影响。在信号分析阶段,引入VMD算法对阶次域信号进行多尺度分解,获得若干具有不同中心频率的固有模态函数,实现噪声抑制与故障成分的分离。进一步地,采用相关峭度作为周期性冲击特征的定量评价指标,对分解得到的模态进行综合评估与筛选,选取敏感模态进行Hilbert包络分析以及阶次域包络谱计算,从而有效提取故障特征。实验结果表明,所提方法在变速工况下能够准确提取旋转机械的故障特征,相较于传统方法,具有更强的抗噪声能力和更高的诊断准确性。 展开更多

在数字化和平台化全面渗透的当代社会,流量、收视率、票房、发行量及排行榜等量化指标已深度嵌入文艺创作、传播与评价体系,成为衡量作品影响力的重要参照。本文通过对电视剧、网络文学与短视频的典型案例分析,探讨流量逻辑在文艺生态... 在数字化和平台化全面渗透的当代社会,流量、收视率、票房、发行量及排行榜等量化指标已深度嵌入文艺创作、传播与评价体系,成为衡量作品影响力的重要参照。本文通过对电视剧、网络文学与短视频的典型案例分析,探讨流量逻辑在文艺生态中的表现及多重影响。研究发现,流量指标在提升作品传播度、激发创作活力和优化市场运营方面具有积极作用,但同时也可能挤压创作空间,削弱艺术深度,导致“唯流量论”的出现,造成公共性的流失。在理论层面,本文尝试将注意力经济、后现代文化逻辑与文艺评价体系相结合,提出“双重指标、多维评价”的方法,以实现量化数据与艺术价值的平衡。在实践层面,提出创作者创作策略优化、平台推荐机制完善、评论话语独立性强化等路径,以保障文艺创作的多样性与健康发展。研究表明,对流量逻辑的科学理解与合理管理有助于推动数字时代文艺创作的可持续发展。 展开更多

[目的/意义]Altmetrics是图情学的研究热点与前沿,为充分深入了解国内研究进展,需要对相关文献进行评述,以期达到启发创新、深化研究的目的。[方法/过程]在文献调研的基础上,讨论并界定Altmetrics的译名,阐述其优势特征及表现,分析4款主流计量工具,分类解读实证研究,探讨应用领域,提出研究展望。[结果/结论]研究表明:Altmetrics的实质是补充性计量指标,具有及时、多样、开放等特点;计量工具在数据采集与处理、指标分类与组织、服务内容与方式等方面各具特色;实证分析主要由指标的相关关系和结构维度两方面构成;Altmetrics为影响力评价、图书馆服务和机构知识库建设注入新的活力;未来研究应当加强数据保障、工具优化、指标组织、应用拓展等方面的深化探索与实践。 展开更多
