The test equipment suitable for FRR of fine-grained materials was introduced. Weakly magnetic materials with grain size of 〈0.30 mm were converted into strongly magnetic materials by FRR for several to dozens of seconds. In a weakly reducing atmosphere and at 740-800 ~C, refractory powder iron material (〈0.30 mm) which is rich in specularite, limonite and Mg-Mn siderite was subjected to FRR for a few seconds to 60 s. Concentrate with iron grade of 55.67%-55.21%, high contents of Mg and Mn in the ore is obtained and the yield of magnetic separation reaches 81.66%-86.57%. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and magnetism detection of the material before and after FRR indicate that weakly magnetic material is mainly converted into strongly magnetic material Fe304 with specific saturation magnetic moment. The efficiency of FRR is consistent with TFe recovery of magnetic separation; meantime, the specific sa^u'ation magnetic moment increases from 33 to 42 times after FRR. Calculations show that speeds of flash magnetic roasting are obtained from several dozen to two or three hundred times, compared with rotary kiln or shaft furnace. This indicates that it is practicable to use the fast reducing roasting technique to improve the comprehensive utilization of iron ore resources.展开更多

The effects of preheating temperature, vacuum roll reduction and initial thickness of the A11060 sheet on the metal interface and bonding strength were investigated. The interfacial microstructure was investigated and the mechanical properties of the joint were evaluated by shear testing. The bonding strength of the clad materials was generally enhanced by increasing the total reduction or preheating temperature, which caused the metal interface to flatten. No obvious reaction or diffusion layer was observed at the interface between Al 1060 and pure iron. The bonding strength increased with decreasing the initial thickness of the Al 1060 sheets. The Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were soldered with Zn-Al alloy by using an ultrasonic-assisted method. Strong bonding of the Al 1060 layer and Al 7N01 was realized without obvious Al 1060 dissolution or effect on the initial interface of Al 1060/pure iron clad materials by soldering at relatively low temperature.展开更多

Effects or this chemicals on pickling rate and hydrogen penetration into iron and steel material in 50~150 g/L HCI or/and H2SO4 solutions at 20~70℃ temperature were examined. The amount of acid fog escaping from the surface of air-liquid was determined by chemical titration. The results indicate that the efficiency of inhibition and suppression depends on film properties by which mean a barrier film on the interface of bare mild steel/solution or an unsolvable liquid membrane as hydrophibic effect. In present work the film-forming mechanism by in situ and chemistry-mechanics effect is also discussed.展开更多

Tetraethyl-orthosilicate was used as a surfactant to synthesize Fe3O4@SiO2 core–shell structures from prepared Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The properties of the Fe3O4 and Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The prepared Fe3O4 particles were approximately 12 nm in size, and the thickness of the SiO2 coating was approximately 4 nm. The magnetic properties were studied by vibrating sample magnetometry. The results show that the maximum saturation magnetization of the Fe3O4@SiO2 powder(34.85 A·m^2·kg^–1) was markedly lower than that of the Fe3O4 powder(79.55 A·m^2·kg^–1), which demonstrates that Fe3O4 was successfully wrapped by SiO2. The Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles have broad prospects in biomedical applications; thus, our next study will apply them in magnetic resonance imaging.展开更多

In this work, a simple method to determine the amount of magnetic iron oxide nano- and microparticles attached to magnetically-modified partic- ulate diamagnetic materials has been developed using a commercially available magnetic permeability meter, The procedure is fast and enables dry particulate magnetically modified materials to be analysed without any modification or pretreatment. We show that the magnetic permeability can be measured for materials containing up to 20% magnetic iron oxide, The magnetic permeability measurements are highly reproducible.展开更多

Magnetic iron oxide particles were prepared from ferrous sulfate by microwave assisted synthesis. A suspension of the magnetic particles in water soluble organic solvent (methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropyl alcohol, or acetone) was mixed with the material to be modified and then completely dried at elevated temperature. The magnetically modified materials were found to be stable in water suspension at least for 2 months.展开更多

X-ray diffraction results show that this composite mainly consists of olivine Li Fe PO4 and monoclinic Li3 V2(PO4)3 phases with small amounts of V-doped LiFePO_4 and Fe-doped Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3. The magnetic properties of LiFePO_4·Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3/C are significantly different from LiFePO_4/C. Trace quantities of ferromagnetic impurities and Fe_2P are verified in LiFePO_4/C and LiFePO_4·Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3/C by magnetic tests, respectively. LiFePO_4·Li_3 V_2(PO_4)_3/C possesses relatively better rate capacities and cyclic stabilities, especially at high charge-discharge rates. The initial discharge capacities are 136.4 and 130.0 mA h g^(-1),and the capacity retentions are more than 98% after 100 cycles at 2C and 5C, respectively, remarkably better than those of LiFePO_4/C. The excellent electrochemical performances are ascribed to the mutual doping of V^(3+)and Fe^(2+), complementary advantages of LiFePO_4 and Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3 phases, the residual high-ordered carbon and Fe_2P with outstanding electric conductivity in the nanocomposite.展开更多
