Improving the performance of all-solid-state supercapacitors by modifying ionic liquid gel electrolytes with graphene nanosheets prepared by arc-discharge 被引量:4

Ionic liquid gel polymers have widely been used as the electrolytes in all-solid-state supercapacitors, but they suffer from low ionic conductivity and poor electrochemical performance. Arc discharge is a fast, low-cost and scalable method to prepare multi-layered graphene nanosheets, and as-made graphene nanosheets (denoted as ad-GNSs) with few defects, high electrical conductivity and high thermal stability should be favorable conductive additive materials. Here, a novel ionic liquid gel polymer electrolyte based on an ionic liquid (EM1MNTF2) and an copolymer (P(VDF-HFP)) was modified by the addition of ad-GNSs as an ionic conducting promoter. This modified gel electrolyte shows excellent thermal stability up to 400 ℃ and a wide electrochemical window of 3 V. An all-solid-state supercapacitor based on commercial activated carbon was fabricated using this modified ionic liquid gel polymer electrolyte, which shows obviously improved electrochemical behaviors compared with those of the corresponding all-solid-state supercapacitor using pure ionic liquid gel polymer electrolyte. Specially, smaller internal resistance, higher specific capacitance, better rate performance and cycling stability are achieved. These results indicate that the ionic liquid gel polymers modified by ad-GNSs would be promising and suitable gel electrolytes for high performance all-solid-state electrochemical devices. 展开更多

A new type of soft actuator material-ionic liquid gel (ILG), which consists of HEMA, BMIMBF4, and TiO2, can be transformed into gel state under the irradiation of ultraviolet (UV) light. In this paper, Mooney-Rivlin hyperelastic model of finite element method is proposed for the first time to study the properties of the ILG. It has been proved that the content of TiO2 has a great influence on the properties of the gel, and Young's modulus of the gel increases with the increase of its content, despite of reduced tensile deformation. The results in this work show that when the TiO2 content is 1.0 wt%, a large tensile deformation and a strong Young's modulus can be obtained to be 325% and 7.8 kPa, respectively. The material parameters of ILG with TiO2 content values of 0.2 wt%, 0.5 wt%, 1.0 wt%, and 1.5 wt% are obtained, respectively, through uniaxial tensile tests, including C10, C01, C20, C11, C02, C30, C21, C12, and C03 elements. In this paper, the large-scaled general finite element software ANSYS is used to simulate and analyze the ILG, which is based on SOLID186 element and nonlinear hyperelastic Mooney-Rivlin model. The finite element simulation analysis based stress-strain curves are almost consistent with the experimental stress-strain curves, and hence the finite element analysis of ILG is feasible and credible. This work presents a new direction for studying the performance of soft actuator for the ILG, and also contributes to the design of soft robot actuator. 展开更多

Three new catalysts based on the silica gel supported polyether ionic liquids(ILs), i.e., [HO-PECH-MIM]ClSi, [H2N-PECH-MIM]Cl-Si, and [HOOC-PECH-MIM]Cl-Si, were prepared, and their chemical structures were characterized by infrared(IR) spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) spectroscopy. Thermogravimetric analyzer(TG), X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and scanning electron microscope(SEM) were used to evaluate their thermal stability,crystalline structure and apparent morphology, respectively. Surface areas of the prepared catalysts were calculated by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) method. The catalytic reaction for the synthesis of propylene carbonate(PC) using CO_2 and propylene oxide(PO) in the presence of the prepared catalysts was studied. The influences of times of recycling and catalyst structure on catalytic performance were also investigated. The experimental results showed that the silica gel supported polyether ILs catalysts successfully prepared under mild condition could possess the advantages of high activity, excellent thermal stability, good selectivity and easy recycling, while the phase transition of the liquid polyether ILs catalysts was also achieved. When the reaction temperature was 90 °C, the CO_2 pressure was 2.0 MPa and the dosage of the catalyst was 2.5%, [HOOC-PECH-MIM]Cl-Si was found to have the best catalytic performance in the catalytic process, with the conversion rate reaching 100% and the selectivity equating to 98.2%. The conversion rate and selectivity still could reach more than 90% even after the catalyst was reused for 15 times. 展开更多

An innovative approach to H2 S capture has been developed using several metal-based ionic liquids([Bmim]Cl·CuCl_2, [Bmim]Cl·FeCl_3, [Bmim]Cl·ZnCl_2, [Bmim]Br·CuCl_2, and [Bmim]Br·FeCl_3) immobilized on the sol-gel derived silica, which is superior to purely viscous ionic liquid with a crucial limit of high temperature, low mass transfer rate,and mass loss. The adsorbents were characterized by the Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, transmission electron microscope, N_2 adsorption/desorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermal analysis techniques. The effects of the metal and halogen in IL, the loading amount of IL, and the adsorption temperature were studied by dynamic adsorption experiments at a gas flow rate of 100 mL/min. The H2 S adsorption results have showed that the optimal adsorbent and adsorption temperature are 5% [Bmim]Cl·CuCl_2/silica gel and 20—50 ℃, respectively. H_2 S can be captured and oxidized to elemental sulfur, and [Bmim]Cl·CuCl_2/silica gel can be readily regenerated by air. The excellent efficiency of H2 S removal may be attributed to the formation of nano-scaled and high-concentration [Bmim]Cl·CuCl_2 confined in silica gel, indicating that the immobilization of [Bmim]Cl·CuCl_2 on the sol-gel derived silica can be used for H2 S removal promisingly. 展开更多

Silica Gel Supported Hydrophobic Ionic Liquid for Selective Extraction and Determination of Coumarin

In this study, a modified silica gel surface with a hydrophobic ionic liquid (SG-1,10-PhenanNTf2) was used as an adsorbent for a selective extraction of coumarin prior to its determination by use of high performance liquid chromatography. Results demonstrated that SG-1,10-PhenanNTf2 phase had a good adsorption capacity up to 85.29 mg?g?1, high selectivity, good site accessibility and fast binding kinetics toward coumarin. The adsorption capacity for coumarin was improved by 62.33% with the SG-1,10-PhenanNTf2 phase as compared to activated silica gel. Adsorption isotherm data displayed that the adsorption process was mainly monolayer on a homogeneous adsorbent surface, confirming the validity of Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. The adsorption of coumarin on the SG-1,10-PhenanNTf2 phase was accomplished after only 60 min contact time. Results of kinetic models showed that the adsorption of coumarin on the SG-1,10-PhenanNTf2 phase obeyed a pseudo second-order kinetic model. Finally, the efficiency of this methodology was confirmed by applying it to real water samples. 展开更多

Systematic analysis about the exploitation of imidazolium based ionic liquids (ILs), [BMIM] BF4 [ILl], [EMIM] BF4 ILL2] and [BMIM] PF6 [IL3] as the morphological template on the basic sol-gel method adopted synthesis of nanostructured zinc oxide (ZnO) is presented. X-ray diffraction (XRD), particle size analysis (PSA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) have been employed for the characterization of structure and morphology of the synthesized ZnO particles. Well-defined capsule like shaped morphology with lower nanosize is observed for the ZnO nanoparticles with ILl than those with IL2 and IL3. This confirms that ILl served as an effective templating material due to their unique properties. Especially the effective aggregation of ZnO particles with a self-organized frame of ILl was the essential factor to produce the lower nanosized ZnO with capsule shaped structure. The synthesized ZnO samples with IL2 and IL3 fabricated the flake like shaped and rod like shaped morphologies in the range of nanoscale. The formed ZnO nanoparticles with IL2 exhibit higher nanosize than the ZnO nanoparticles produced by ILl, owing to shorter length of alkyl group in its cation which restricts steric effect and permits the nanoparticles to grow longer. Even though IL3 produced the discrete ZnO nanorods, the hydrophobic nature of IL3 created the higher nanosize than the ZnO nanoparticles formed by other two ionic liquids. Antibacterial properties of the synthesized ZnO nanostructures were investigated against Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive) and Escherichia coil (gram negative) bacteria by Agar diffusion test method. Microbial experiments indicate that the synthesized ZnO samples show a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activities and performed better against S. aureus than E. coil with the same concentration of ZnO. 展开更多

Magnesium oxide(MgO) is one of the metal oxides having unique properties with numerous potential industrial applications.In this study,MgO and vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles were synthesized by sol–gel method in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF_4] and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF_4] ionic liquids.Vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles exhibited nanosphere and nanorod morphologies with 40–80 nm in particle size,primarily due to the influence of ionic liquids as demonstrated by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.Characteristics of nanoparticles were also studied by thermal gravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.Photodegradation ability of synthesized nanoparticles was evaluated for methylene blue(MB) in specially designed UV reactor.Photodegradation is found to be dependent on doping,and particle characteristics change due to the influence of ionic liquid.The ionic liquid-assisted vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles showed good reusability under UV irradiation and MB degradation ability under visible light. 展开更多

A low cost,rapid and sensitive preparation method of silica gel supported ionic liquid(SGSIL)combined with matrix solid phase dispersion(MSPD)followed by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)with ultraviolet detection(UV)is proposed,and it was applied to determine the seven active compounds in Salvia Miltiorrhiza herb.SGSIL and ionic liquid[BMIM]BF4 were used as the adsorbent and the green elution reagent in the MSPD procedure.Several extraction conditions including type of filler and elution solvent,the volume of elution solvent,material liquid ratio were optimized.Under the optimum conditions,the SGSIL-MSPD-HPLC method showed a low limit of detection(LOD,S/N=3)of 0.0122-0.8788μg/mL for standard solution,limit of quantification(LOQ,S/N=10)of 0.0406-2.9292μg/mL for standard solution,wide linear range from 1.56 to 2000μg/mL for all compounds for standard solution,correlation coefficients(r)of more than 0.9990,acceptable reproducibility(relative standard deviations,RSDs<3.54%),and precision of RSDs<3.36%for intra-day,RSDs<3.50%for inter-day.The satisfactory recoveries ranged from 96.4 to 102.5,with RSDs less than 3.45%.The developed SGSIL-MSPD method is easier and more suitable for the determination of the seven active compounds in Salvia Miltiorrhiza herb than the traditional ultrasonic extraction.It was an effective and efficient method for the extraction and quantification of the seven active compounds in traditional Chinese herbal samples. 展开更多

Fluorinated oligomer gel is suitable to the electrolyte of dye-sensitized solar cell for low cost production. In this article, addition of pyridine was investigated for the purpose of enhancing the short current density. Two kinds of ionic liquids were tested: imidazolium and pyrazolium systems. The two different stages of adding pyridine to the electrolyte were considered and the amount of pyridine was studied. It was found that the electrolyte including pyrazolium ionic liquids to which pyridine was added before the mixing with fluorinated oligomer showed the highest electric conductivity, short current density and open voltage. This resulted in the highest conversion efficiency of 4%. As the amount of pyridine increased, the fill factor and the open voltage were improved at first, and then the short current density increased. If the pyridine was added more, the short current density conversely decreased. 展开更多

目的制备一种新型离子液体纳米乳凝胶贴膏(ionic liquid-based nanoemulsion gel paste,IL-NGP),用于抗疖中药复方(anti-furuncle herbal combinations,FHC)提取物经皮给药治疗疖痈。方法以棕榈酸异丙酯为油相,筛选出聚山梨酯-80为乳化... 目的制备一种新型离子液体纳米乳凝胶贴膏(ionic liquid-based nanoemulsion gel paste,IL-NGP),用于抗疖中药复方(anti-furuncle herbal combinations,FHC)提取物经皮给药治疗疖痈。方法以棕榈酸异丙酯为油相,筛选出聚山梨酯-80为乳化剂,丙二醇为助乳化剂,采用油、乳化剂和助乳化剂的用量为考察因素,纳米乳(nanoemulsions,NEs)的粒径和多分散指数(polydispersity index,PDI)为考察指标,使用Box-Behnken设计-响应面法(Box-Behnken design-response surface method,BBD-RSM)优化NEs的处方,并对最佳处方进行验证。将胆碱碳酸氢盐-己烯酸离子液体(ionic liquid,IL)引入NEs,形成IL-NEs。以感官评价、初黏力、持黏力为评价指标,通过单因素试验考察各辅料及IL-NEs用量,优化出最佳ILNGP处方。通过稳定性试验、皮肤渗透试验和抗菌活性测定对IL-NGP进行体外评价,并采用药效学模型、疼痛模型和小鼠耳肿胀模型考察IL-NGP的体内疖痈治疗效果。结果成功制备了IL-NGP,其稳定性良好,与传统凝胶膏(gel paste,GP)相比,IL-NGP的抑菌效果提高1.32倍,其在48 h内的蟾毒灵释放量提高2.42倍,并对二甲苯致小鼠耳肿胀、扭体疼痛、小鼠肉芽棉球增生、角叉菜胶引起的大鼠足趾肿胀有较好的抑制作用。结论将传统中药方FHC制备成一种新型经皮递送的离子液体基质的NGP,其透皮性能优良,疖痈治疗效果显著。 展开更多

聚氯乙烯凝胶(PVCG)驱动器在柔性可穿戴设备和仿生驱动领域具有重要的应用前景,但在常规工作电压下驱动性能不足的问题限制了其实际应用。为解决上述问题,采用溶剂蒸发法制备了五种离子液体改性的PVCG(iPVCG),包括1-烯丙基-3-甲基咪唑... 聚氯乙烯凝胶(PVCG)驱动器在柔性可穿戴设备和仿生驱动领域具有重要的应用前景,但在常规工作电压下驱动性能不足的问题限制了其实际应用。为解决上述问题,采用溶剂蒸发法制备了五种离子液体改性的PVCG(iPVCG),包括1-烯丙基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐([AMIM]BF_(4))、1-烯丙基-3-甲基咪唑双(三氟甲烷磺酰)亚胺盐([AMIM]NTF_(2))、1-烯丙基-3-甲基咪唑氯盐([AMIM]Cl)、三丁基甲基氯化铵(TBMACl)和三己基十四烷基氯化磷(THTDPCl)。第一性原理计算表明,所选离子液体的分子体积范围为53.68~855.11Å^(3),偶极矩为11.39~15.64 Debye。介电性能测试结果显示,离子液体通过离子极化、取向极化和界面极化的协同作用,显著提高了PVCG基体的介电常数。在1000Hz频率下,[AMIM]NTF_(2)改性i PVCG的介电常数达到340.08,是纯PVCG的11.61倍;其他改性iPVCG的介电常数也提升了48.59~142.42;同时,弛豫频率最高提升至755.97 Hz,较纯PVCG(194.86 Hz)提升了288%。力学性能研究表明,离子体积对拉伸弹性模量具有反向调控作用。小体积离子液体(如[AMIM]Cl,228.09Å^(3))因高物质的量浓度形成密集相分离结构,使拉伸弹性模量降低24.91%;而大体积离子液体(如THTDPCl,855.11Å^(3))因分子数较少导致相分离减弱,其iPVCG的拉伸弹性模量(10.96 kPa)与纯PVCG(11.68 kPa)相近。这表明离子体积通过调控相分离程度主导了拉伸弹性模量的变化。介电性能的提升与拉伸弹性模量的降低协同优化了i PVCG的驱动性能。在800 V电压下,i PVCG的弯曲位移最高提升63.51%,其中[AMIM]NTF_(2)改性i PVCG凝胶因其高介电常数和低模量表现出最优性能,驱动位移达到3.45 mm。本研究提出的离子体积效应与高偶极矩离子液体优选策略,为开发低电压、高性能柔性驱动器提供了重要的材料优化指导。 展开更多
