Since China＇s reform and accession to the world trade organization （WTO）, the international labor division, cooperation, and communication of production have been a direction of the global productivity development....Since China＇s reform and accession to the world trade organization （WTO）, the international labor division, cooperation, and communication of production have been a direction of the global productivity development. The expansion of the world trade organization and the growth of multinational corporations have promoted China＇s market economy to head for internationalization; the exchanges of all countries＇ science and technology, culture, and education have become increasingly frequent and beyond the borders very early, so opening-up has become a world trend. China is playing an important role in this historical process. In this situation, the importance of language translation is increasing day by day, and an unprecedented prosperous situation has especially appeared to the interpretation. In order to accord with this new historical situation, many colleges and universities have set up language translation program and have offered interpretation course. To promote the economic development of China and train more senior interpreters, the studies of interpretation teaching and the improvement of interpretation teaching quality have been particularly important. Besides, students＇ errors were also identified through observations by the researche...In the present study, some junior students of the English major were asked to verbalize or write their thoughts after interpreting. Besides, students＇ errors were also identified through observations by the researchers. As a result some of the mistakes made by students were found： lacking humor and variety in their interpreting, little vocabulary and variation in expression, etc.. Reasons were also analyzed which included that students were generally not familiar with some of the often-used sentence patterns for tour guide interpretation, and teachers are not using the suitable ways of teaching tour guide interpreting. To conclude, ways to solve these problems were recommended for readers＇ reference.展开更多

Practical interpreting often encounters a problem of incomplete correspondence in text style between source language(SL)and target language(TL),which will reduce the interpreting quality.The text style shift(the alter...Practical interpreting often encounters a problem of incomplete correspondence in text style between source language(SL)and target language(TL),which will reduce the interpreting quality.The text style shift(the alteration of linguistic style between source and target languag)can explain this phenomenon.This study is designed to verify whether this phenomenon exists in the medical interpreting,expanding the scope of the research and providing reference for students from technological universitics when learning interpretation and enrich the theoretical treasure house.The primary application of the paired-sample t test is to determine if there is a statistically significant difference between two related mcasurements taken from the same subjects under different conditions or at separate time points.In this study,the establishment of a stylistic shift is based on a statistically significant change observed in a stylistic feature from the pre-to the post-translation version.Therefore,the paired-sample t-test is appropriate for this study.Based on the frst online multi-disciplinary forum on COVID-19 with simultanecous interpretation,typical stylistic features have been chosen to analyze whether the stylistic shift exists in the online medical Chinese-English simultancous interpretation.Results suggest that stylistic shift appears in the online medical simultaneous interpretation from Chinese to English.That means in the process of interpreting the SI into the TI,the style of the written language will shift to or approach orality and vice versa in the simultancous interpretation for science and technology.Dependency Length Minimization(DLM,the cognitive principle that favors shorter distances between syntactically linked words in language production)and Efort Model(EM,the theory describing how interpreters allocate limited cognitive resources in real time)can be applied to explain the conchusion.Enlightenment and significance:Apart from offering reference to the teaching of simultancous interpretation in the technological universities,this study fls the gap in the existing studies in the fcld of technological interpretation,for there are hardly any studies on simultancous interpretation in the ficld of mcdical.展开更多
