The exchange coupling field (Hex) between NiO and NiFe reached 120O e. The composition and chemical states at the interface region of NiO/NiFe were studied using the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and peak decomposition technique. The results show that there are two thermodynamically favorable reactions at NiO/NiFe interface: NiO+Fe=Ni+FeO and 3NiO+2Fe=3Ni+Fe2O3. The thickness of the chemical reaction as estimated by angle-resolved XPS was about 1-1.5 nm. These interface reaction products are magnetic defects, and we believe that the Hex and the coercivity (Hc) of NiO/NiFe are affected by these defects. Moreover, the results also show that there is an intermixing layer at the Ta/NiO (and NiO/Ta) interface due to a thermodynamically favorable reaction: 2Ta+5NiO+Ta2O5. This interface reaction has an effect on the exchange coupling as well. The thickness of the intermixing layer as estimated by XPS depth-profiles was about 8-10 nm.展开更多

According to current landfill design procedures, conducting stability analysis along the same interface at both the back slope and base may result in a non-conservative result. The critical interfaces with the minimum factor of safety are generally found at different locations along the back slope and base. The critical interface for a multilayer liner system cannot simply be assumed during stability analysis. It can shift from one interface to another with changes in the leachate level and with different leachate buildup cases. The factor of safety for an interface with a high friction angle and low apparent cohesion generally drops much more quickly than it does under inverse conditions when the leachate level increases. The failure interface in a liner system under residual conditions is usually different from the failure interface under peak conditions.展开更多

The results suggest that when individual layer thickness (h) is larger than 5-10 nm, the hardness/strength of three different multilayer systems has the similar length scale effect with decreasing layer thickness, while when h ≤ 5 nm, the three multilayer systems show remarkably different plastic deformation behaviors. The strength curves exhibit the variation trends of unchanging, softening and increasing corresponding to Cu/Ta, Ag/Cu and Ag/Nb multilayers, respectively. The microstructure analysis shows that three kinds of multilayers have totally different interfacial structures, which lead to the different strengthening or softening mechanisms.展开更多

文摘As a mathematical analysis method, fractal analysis can be used to quantitatively describe irregular shapes with self-similar or self-affine properties.Fractal analysis has been used to characterize the shapes of metal materials at various scales and dimensions.Conventional methods make it difficult to quantitatively describe the relationship between the regular characteristics and properties of metal material surfaces and interfaces. However, fractal analysis can be used to quantitatively describe the shape characteristics of metal materials and to establish the quantitative relationships between the shape characteristics and various properties of metal materials. From the perspective of two-dimensional planes and three-dimensional curved surfaces, this paper reviews the current research status of the fractal analysis of metal precipitate interfaces, metal grain boundary interfaces,metal-deposited film surfaces, metal fracture surfaces, metal machined surfaces, and metal wear surfaces. The relationship between the fractal dimensions and properties of metal material surfaces and interfaces is summarized.Starting from three perspectives of fractal analysis, namely, research scope, image acquisition methods, and calculation methods, this paper identifies the direction of research on fractal analysis of metal material surfaces and interfaces that need to be developed. It is believed that revealing the deep influence mechanism between the fractal dimensions and properties of metal material surfaces and interfaces will be the key research direction of the fractal analysis of metal materials in the future.
文摘This study is to identify the critical interface in a geosynthetic multilayer liner system by examining the effects of the interface shear strength of liner components, leachate level, leachate buildup cases, and peak and residual interface strengths. The failure interface in a liner system under residual conditions is usually different from the failure interface under peak conditions.
文摘CeO_(2) based semiconductor are widely used in solar-driven photothermal catalytic dry reforming of methane(DRM)reaction, but still suffer from low activity and low light utilization efficiency. This study developed graphite-CeO_(2) interfaces to enhance solar-driven photothermal catalytic DRM.Compared with carbon nanotubes-modified CeO_(2)(CeO_(2)-CNT),graphite-modified CeO_(2)(CeO_(2)-GRA)constructed graphite-CeO_(2) interfaces with distortion in CeO_(2),leading to the formation abundant oxygen vacancies. These graphite-CeO_(2) interfaces with oxygen vacancies enhanced optical absorption and promoted the generation and separation of photogenerated carriers. The high endothermic capacity of graphite elevated the catalyst surface temperature from 592.1−691.3℃,boosting light-to-thermal conversion. The synergy between photogenerated carriers and localized heat enabled Ni/CeO_(2)-GRA to achieve a CO production rate of 9985.6 mmol/(g·h)(vs 7192.4 mmol/(g·h)for Ni/CeO_(2))and a light-to-fuel efficiency of 21.8%(vs 13.8%for Ni/CeO_(2)).This work provides insights for designing graphite-semiconductor interfaces to advance photothermal catalytic efficiency.

文摘An analytical solution of the guided wave propagation in a multilayered twodimensional decagonal quasicrystal plate with imperfect interfaces is derived.According to the elastodynamic equations of quasicrystals(QCs),the wave propagating problem in the plate is converted into a linear control system by employing the state-vector approach, from which the general solutions of the extended displacements and stresses can be obtained,These solutions along the thickness direction are utilized to derive the propagator matrix which connects the physical variables on the lower and upper interfaces of each layer. The special spring model, which describes the discontinuity of the physical quantities across the interface,is introduced into the propagator relationship of the multilayered structure. The total propagator matrix can be used to propagate the solutions in each interface and each layer about the multilayered plate. In addition, the traction-free boundary condition on the top and bottom surfaces of the laminate is considered to obtain the dispersion equation of wave propagation,Finally, typical numerical examples are presented to illustrate the marked influences of stacking sequence and interface coeficients on the dispersion curves and displacement mode shapes of the QC laminates.

文摘In this work, we have investigated the mechanical properties of Cu/Ta, Ag/Cu and Ag/Nb multilayers with different heterogeneous interfaces. The microstructure analysis shows that three kinds of multilayers have totally different interfacial structures, which lead to the different strengthening or softening mechanisms.

文摘Cleanliness control of advanced steels is of vital importance for quality control of the products. In order to understand and control the inclusion removal during refining process in molten steel, its motion behaviors at the multiple steel/gas/slag interfaces have attracted the attention much of metallurgical community. The recent development of the agglomeration of non-metallic inclusions at the steel/Ar and steel/slag interfaces has been summarized, and both the experimental as well as theoretical works have been surveyed. In terms of in situ observation of high-temperature interfacial phenomena in the molten steel, researchers utilized high-temperature confocal laser scanning microscopy to observe the movement of more types of inclusions at the interface,i.e.,the investigated inclusion is no longer limited to Al_(2)O_(3)-based inclusions but moves forward to rare earth oxides,MgO-based oxides, etc. In terms of theoretical models, especially the model of inclusions at the steel/slag interface, the recent development has overcome the limitations of the assumptions of Kralchevsky-Paunov model and verified the possible errors caused by the model assumptions by combining the water model and the physical model.Last but not least, the future work in this topic has been suggested, which could be in combination of thermal physical properties of steels and slag,as well as utilize the artificial intelligence-based methodology to implement a comprehensive inclusion motion behaviors during a comprehensive metallurgical process.
文摘Fe/C multilayer thin films were deposited by magnetron sputtering. Small angle X-ray diffraction measurements show very well periodicity of the samples. The modulation period determined from a modified Bragg equation agrees well with that determined from deposition rate. The interfacial roughness parameter ξof several samples calculated by X-ray diffraction is between 3.5(?) and 5.6(?).

文摘Heat transfers at the interface of adjacent saturated soil primarily through the soil particles and the water in the voids. The presence of water induces the contraction of heat flow lines at the interface, leading to the emergence of the thermal contact resistance effect. In this paper, four thermal contact models were developed to predict the thermal contact resistance at the interface of multilayered saturated soils.Based on the theory of thermal-hydro-mechanical coupling,semi-analytical solutions of thermal consolidation subjected to time-dependent heating and loading were obtained by employing Laplace transform and its inverse transformation.Thermal consolidation characteristics of multilayered saturated soils under four different thermal contact models were discussed, and the effects of thermal resistance coefficient, partition thermal contact coefficient, and temperature amplitude on the thermal consolidation process were investigated. The outcomes indicate that the general thermal contact model results in the most pronounced thermal gradient at the interface, which can be degenerated to the other three thermal contact models. The perfect thermal contact model overestimates the deformation of the saturated soil during the thermal consolidation. Moreover, the effect of temperature on consolidation properties decreases gradually with increasing interfacial contact thermal resistance.
文摘The functions, applications, developments and current application mode of IDS3.x system are generally introduced in this paper. Then the development mode of spacecraft based on IDS3.x system is described. The existing problems especially the information redundancy of mechanical interface and their effects are pointed out.A new solution is proposed by developing 3D-IDS system. The central functions of 3D-IDS system are shown in this study.A new application mode of 3D-IDS system is explored and described by showing how to fill in,countersign and apply with 3D-IDS file. The 2D drawing and sketch are removed from 3D-IDS system to avoid information redundancy of mechanical interface. The consistency between 3D model and the parameters of IDS file can be guaranteed by the interface tool. The efficiency of filling in,countersigning and applying, has been improved significantly, which greatly promotes the coordination and total efficiency of spacecraft system design departments and unit design departments.

文摘This paper presents an investigation of well integrity during low-temperature CO_(2)injection using a model of thermo-poroelasticity with interface damage mechanics. The casing-cement and cement-formation interfaces are described using cohesive interface elements and a bilinear traction-separation law.Verification testing is performed to establish the correct implementation of the coupled thermal, hydraulic, and mechanical equations.Simulation scenarios are developed to determine well interface damage initiation and development for intact wells and wells with an initial defect in the form of a 45°debonded azimuth. Each intact and defective well was simulated for30 days of CO_(2)injection at selected temperatures.Under the conditions considered, tensile radial stress developed at both the casing-cement and cement-formation interfaces.Hoop stress in the cement sheath remained compressive after 30 days but with reduced magnitude at the lower injection temperature, indicating greater risk of tensile stress and radial cracking as the injection temperature was reduced.Damage occurred in two of four scenarios considered, namely, the intact and defective wells at an injection temperature of 10℃,and was limited to the casing-cement interface, with no damage to the cement-formation interface.Inclusion of the pre-existing defect led to earlier damage initiation,at 2.75 days compared to 4 days, and produced a microannulus with over double the peak aperture at 0.077 mm compared to 0.037 mm.These findings emphasize the importance of accounting for initial defects and damage evolution when investigating the integrity of CO_(2)injection wells.
