L-type GATA-6 has an extension of 146 amino acid residues at its amino terminus. In the extension, there is a unique PEST sequence (Glu31-Cys46), which is composed of an amino terminal Pro-rich segment and a carboxyl terminal Ser-cluster. Substitution of either half of the PEST sequence with Ala residues by cassette mutagenesis reduced the apparent molecular size of L-type GATA-6 on SDS-polyacrylamide gel-electrophoresis. However, the effect of substitution of the Pro-rich segment was much more significant;the mobility increase of the Pro-rich segment on the gel was 13% while that of the Ser-cluster was 8%. Substitution of each amino acid residue demonstrated that the effect of Pro substitution is greater than that of the Ser and Thr residues. Such increased mobility of L-type GATA-6 in the presence of a detergent may apparently correlate with the decrease in transcription activity in vivo as determined by means of luciferase reporter gene assay. The activity of ΔAla (with Ala residues instead of the PEST sequence) was reduced to one fifth of that of ΔA (with the PEST sequence). These results suggest that the PEST sequence of L-type GATA-6 does not function as a constitutive protein degradation signal, but rather plays structural and functional roles in the activation of gene expression on the GATA responsive promoter.展开更多

Using survey data collected by the authors, this paper examines a host of factors which influence migrant workers' participation in the old-age scheme. The result shows that individual characteristics, employment status, attitudes toward old-age support and perception of the old-age pension system significantly differentiate two groups of migrant workers between those that have participated in and their counterparts who have not participated in the old-age pension schemes. Among a number of factors, age, educational attainment, holding labor contract, etc. are found to be significant factors influencing migrants' behavior participating(or not participating) the available age-pension schemes. Policy implications for how to improve the rate of participation in existing old-age pension schemes among migrant workers are drawn from the findings.展开更多

Kunming mice were randomly divided into two groups. The mice in treatment group were subjected to subcutaneous injection of G-CSF at a dose of 100 μg/kg and SCF at a dose of 25 μg/kg every day for 5 days, and those in control group were given isodose physiological saline. The MNCs were separated, counted and cultured, and the colony-forming unit-fibroblast (CFU-F) was evaluated. CD34+CXCR4+ MNCs were sorted by flow cytometry. The expression of CXCL12 protein in bone marrow extracellular fluid was detected by ELISA, and that of CXCL12 mRNA in bone marrow was measured by RT-PCR. The results showed that the counts of MNCs in peripheral blood and bone marrow were increased after administration of G-CSF/SCF (P<0.01). The factors had a dramatic effect on the expansion capability of CFU-F (P<0.05). Flow cytometric of bone marrow MNCs surface markers revealed that CD34+CXCR4+ cells accounted for 44.6%±8.7% of the total CD34+ MNCs. Moreover, G-CSF/SCF treatment induced a decrease in bone marrow CXCL12 mRNA that closely mirrored the fall in CXCL12 protein. In this study, it is evidenced that G-CSF/SCF can effectively induce MNCs mobilization by disrupting the balance of CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling pathway in the bone marrow and down-regulating the interaction of CXCL12/CXCR4.展开更多

The aim of this study was to investigate the different water qualities used for irrigation on heavy metal mobility in these polluted agricultural soils. The geo-accumulation indices for heavy metals (Ni, Cr, Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn) revealed that industrial activities and used treated wastewater (TWW) contributed to soil pollution, and water irrigation always decreased this contamination. After long-term use of different water types, high perturbation of heavy metal redistribution has occurred. Groundwater use altered all heavy metal redistributions in the irrigated soil among various soil-solid and soil-solution fractions, as compared to the unirrigated soil. Slight acid water use transferred some metals from different solid phase components into water-soluble and exchangeable fractions. However, TWW use transformed some Ni, Cr, Cd, Cu, and Zn from water-soluble and exchangeable fractions to less labile fractions, particularly into organically bound fractions. Reuse of conventional water within the same soil decreased the whole soil redistribution index values, indicating tendency to return to the pattern of distribution of groundwater-irrigated soil.展开更多

Reuse of conventional water within the same soil decreased the whole soil redistribution index values, indicating tendency to return to the pattern of distribution of groundwater-irrigated soil.
文摘This paper proposes a connected dominating set (CDS) based mobility management algorithm, CMMA, to solve the problems of node entering, exiting and movement in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), which ensures the connectivity and efficiency of the CDS. Compared with Wu's algorithm, the proposed algorithm can make full use of present network conditions and involves fewer nodes. Also it has better performance with regard to the approximation factor, message complexity, and time complexity.

文摘Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Mobile-Stroke Risk Scale and Life Style Guidance(M-SRSguide)in promoting a healthy lifestyle and reducing stroke risk factors in atrisk persons. Methods:This research was an clinical trial with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The accessible population is persons at risk of stroke in the community(West and East Kalimantan Province,Indonesia).Thirty-two participants in the intervention group and 32 participants in the control group participated in this study. The sampling method was systematic random sampling. We allocate the sample into the intervention and control groups using a randomized block design. The intervention group used the M-SRSguide.The control group used manual book for a self-assessment of stroke risk. The measurement of a healthy lifestyle and the stroke risk factors was performed before and six months after the intervention. Results:There are no significant differences in healthy lifestyle and stroke risk factors between the two groups after the intervention(P>0.05).Analysis of healthy lifestyle behavior assessment items in the intervention group showed an increase in healthy diets, activity patterns, and stress control after the use of the M-SRSguide(P<0.01).Conclusion:The use of M-SRSguide is effective in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
文摘Background and Objective: With the popularity and widespread use of mobile phones, the effects of mobile phone dependence and addiction on individuals’ physical and mental health have attracted more and more attention. The present study aims to analyze the current state of mobile phone addiction and its impact on sleep quality within the population, while also exploring the influence of related factors on sleep quality. Ultimately, this research will provide a scientific foundation for targeted intervention measures and strategies. Methods: A total of 253 permanent residents in Nanjing were randomly selected as study subjects. The Mobile Phone Addiction Index (MPAI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were used to evaluate the degree of smartphone addiction and sleep quality of the study subjects. Body mass index (BMI) was measured according to standardized procedures. Independent sample t-test, Chi-square test, rank sum test and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the correlation between mobile phone addiction and sleep quality, and P Results: 117 people (46.2%) were addicted to mobile phones. Chi-square test showed that the rate of mobile phone addiction in drinking group was significantly higher than that in non-drinking group (P P P P P P P P P P Conclusion: Mobile phone addiction may lead to shorter sleep duration and reduce sleep efficiency. The withdrawal of mobile phone addiction may have a negative impact on sleep quality. According to the characteristics of the population, appropriate comprehensive intervention measures should be taken to build an effective evaluation system, so as to reduce the impact of mobile phone addiction and withdrawal problems on sleep and improve sleep quality.
文摘This study investigates the degree of capital mobility in a panel of 16 Latin American and 4 Caribbean countries during 1960 to 2017 against the backdrop of the Feldstein-Horioka hypothesis by applying recent panel data techniques. This is the first study on capital mobility in Latin American and Caribbean countries to employ the recently developed panel data procedure of the dynamic common correlated effects modeling technique of Chudik and Pesaran(J Econ 188:393–420,2015)and the error-correction testing of Gengenbach,Urbain, and Westerlund(Panel error correction testing with global stochastic trends,2008,J Appl Econ 31:982–1004,2016).These approaches address the serious panel data econometric issues of crosssection dependence, slope heterogeneity, nonstationarity, and endogeneity in a multifactor error-structure framework. The empirical findings of this study reveal a low average(mean)savings–retention coefficient for the panel as a whole and for most individual countries,as well as indicating a cointegration relationship between saving and investment ratios. The results indicate that there is a relatively high degree of capital mobility in the Latin American and Caribbean countries in the short run, while the long-run solvency condition is maintained, which is due to reduced frictions in goods and services markets causing increase competition.Increased capital mobility in these countries can promote economic growth and hasten the process of globalization by creating a conducive economic environment for FDI in these countries.
