In this study, pin type flow channel is numerically analyzed by arranging carbon made porous material in uniform and zigzag manner on the rib surface of the flow field. The study focuses on enhancing the performance of PEMFC by reducing liquid flooding in the interface between the rib and Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL). A single PEMFC having an active area of 25 cm2, with three flow channel designs (conventional serpentine, pin type flow channel with 2 mm cubical porous inserts in zigzag and uniform pattern) are modeled for the numerical analysis. The effect of porosity of the carbon inserts on the cell performance is studied by varying its value from 0.6 to 0.9. The results show that the performance of the flow channel with zigzag and uniformly positioned porous inserts is more than the conventional serpentine flow channel by 20.36% and 16.87% respectively. The reason for this increase is the removal of the accumulated water from the rib surface due to the capillary action of the porous carbon inserts. This helps in eliminating the stagnant water regions under the rib and thereby helps in reducing liquid flooding.展开更多

The workpiece material was plain medium carbon steel and the cutting tool materials were carbide and cermet inserts coated with various single as well as multilayer coatings. Machining was done under various cutting conditions of speed and feed-rate, and for various durations of Cutting. The output parameters studied were the cutting forces (axial, radial and tangential), the surface roughness of the workpiece, as well as the tool wear (crater and flank wear). From these results, the performances of the various cutting inserts are evaluated and compared. Results show that cutting forces are significantly lower when using coated cermets than when using coated carbides although different coatings on the same substrate also result in different cutting forces. However, there is less difference in the surface roughness of the finished workpiece for the various coatings and substrates.展开更多

We have investigated the enhancement of heat transfer with mass flow in a pipe without insert, with full length and short length twisted tape inserts. The length of the pipe is approximately 2436.80 mm long with 29 mm inner and 33 mm outer diameter respectively. A constant heat flux is taken which generated the boundary layer of the pipe close to the flowing fluid around the boundary. The simulations are considered for the stationary and the time dependent module for 35 seconds with different length of inserts. The comparisons are made among the results. We observed that the transfer of heat is enhanced significantly with the increase of the length of inserts inside the computational domain. We also found that, full length twisted tape inserts are more effective than comparing with the short length inserts and without insert.展开更多

文摘The effect of cutting teeth number on the cutting force, surface roughness, tool wear rate and the cutting chip shape charac teristics is systematically evaluated.A novel five tee th chaser insert(C tool)which could turn the workpiece at five cutting points simultaneously is involved in comparison with the standard triangle shaped insert(T tool),in the purpose of solving the problems of cutting heat concentration and rapid tool failures in the Inconel 718 machining process.Comparative orthogonal cut ting experimen ts of the C tool and T tool show that the cut ting depth is the significant influencing factor of the cutting forces.Meanwhile, the five cut ting teeth of the C tool show the effec tiveness of dispersing the cut ting forces as well as improving the cut ting efficiency. The feed rate is the significant factor to affect the root-mean-square surface roughness(Ra)of workpiece machined by the T tool, while the significant influencing variable of Ra for the C tool is the cutting depth due to its unique tool geome try(0°rake angle)in the axial feeding process. Moreover, due to the dispersing effect, the cut ting edges on the C tool exhibits lower tool wear rate than that of the T tool under the same axial feed. The chips are regular continuous long chips for the T tool, while the irregular continuous chips with the characteristic of saw-toothed profile are obtained due to its unique 0°rake angle. The C tool shows the valid potential for effectively dispersing the cut ting heat and slowing down the tool wear rate in the Inconel 718 machining process.
文摘The thermo-hydraulic properties of circular tubes with a twisted tape inside(used accordingly to induce turbulence and enhance heat transfer through the tube wall)are described for Reynolds Numbers ranging from 830 to 1990.Tapes twisted with the three distinct twist ratios are considered,namely,6,4.4 and 3.Air is used as the working fluid in several tests. For the sake of comparison, the standard tube with no insert is also examined. It is shown that in the presence of the twisted tape, the‘frictional factor’,‘Nusselt Number’and the‘thermal performance factor’are much higher than those obtained for the plain tube. Moreover, the tapes having the lowest twist ratio,i.e.,3,are more effective than the others in terms of heat transfer augmentation. The‘thermal performance factor’is greater than one for all the twisted tapes used in the experiments, which confirms the enhanced performances of the heat exchanger and the related savings in terms of total energy.
文摘The ThinKing by Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin is only 1.65 millimeters thick, making it the world's thinnest mechanical wristwatch. The“arms race”for the world's thinnest wristwatch has been in full swing for a few years now, with some of the most prestigious(有声望的)watch brands on Earth trying to one‑up each other with ingenious designs. The latest to claim the coveted title is independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin with his ThinKing prototype,a 1.65‑millimeter‑thick masterpiece that is so incredibly thin that it needs a special wristband. The ThinKing's case is so delicate that the simple pressure from being worn is enough to damage it,so the special strap made of alligator leather and elastic(有弹性的)inserts with titanium(钛)has to absorb some of the shocks, twisting and bending.
文摘BACKGROUND Long-term chemotherapy for patients with gastric cancer(GC),facilitated by peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)catheterization, reduces vascular damage and enhances drug delivery efficiency but carries risks of catheter-related complications.A combination of group psychological nursing and physical mo-vement care significantly mitigates the risk of venous thrombosis and improves psychological well-being,and enhances motor function, underscoring its clinical importance.AIM To assess group psychological and physical movement nursing in preventing venous thrombosis in patients with PICC GC.METHODS Sixty-five GC patients with PICC,admitted from January 2022 to January 2023,were randomly divided into two groups using the lottery method:A control group(n=35,routine nursing)and an observation group(n=30,routine nursing plus psychological nursing and physical movement nursing). Both groups re-ceived continuous care for 2 weeks.Pre-nursing and post-nursing data on psycho-logical state, physical function,chemotherapy-related thrombosis incidence, and cancer-related fatigue were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and GraphPad Prism 8.0.RESULTS After nursing, both groups showed reduced Hamilton Anxiety Scale scores and increased General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale scores, with the observation group performing better(P<0.05).The Functional Comprehensive Assessment score for the observation group after nursing was(65.42±2.35)points,lower than the control group’s(62.19±4.33)points(P<0.05).Although no significant difference was observed in the incidence of venous thrombosis between the two groups(χ2=0.815,P=0.367),the observation group had lower incidence. Both groups showed decreased Revised Piper Fatigue Scale scores, with the observation group scoring lower(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Group psychological and physical movement nursing for patients with PICC reduces venous thrombosis risk, improves psychological well-being,cancer-related fatigue, and physical function, making it highly promotable.
文摘An efficient TfOH-catalyzed O—H insertion reaction of α-aryl diazoesters with carboxylic acids is reported. This metal-free protocol provides an operationally simple method for a one-pot assembly of diverse α-acyloxy esters in moderate to high yields with a broad substrate scope. All starting materials are readily available, and the reactions can be conducted in the open air at room temperature.
文摘A blue light-induced formal insertion reaction ofα-siloxy carbene into the C—H bond of 1,3-diketones has been reported.Under the irradiation of blue light, acylsilane converts toα-siloxy carbene, which then undergoes formal C—H bond insertion reaction with the enol form of 1,3-diketone.This method uses readily available and relative stable acylsilane as car-bene precursor, which features a simple and metal-free approach under mild conditions. Moreover, the synthetic potential of this protocol has been demonstrated by performing the reaction on a gram scale with comparable high yield.
