Targeted poverty alleviation is a unique approach adopted in China to help achieve the vision of a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and the"Chinese Dream".Industrial development as a means of pov...Targeted poverty alleviation is a unique approach adopted in China to help achieve the vision of a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and the"Chinese Dream".Industrial development as a means of poverty alleviation is an integral part of the"Five-pronged Poverty Alleviation Measures"Project of targeted poverty alleviation,and a critical foundation for other poverty alleviation measures.In this study,a comprehensive evaluation method was used to measure farmers'livelihood based on the framework of sustainable livelihood.Specifically,the effects of industrial development on farmers'livelihood capital were estimated by employing the propensity score matching combined with the difference-in-differences(PSM-DID)approach.Findings suggest that industrial development had a significantly positive effect on the livelihood capital of farmers.Industrial development can significantly enhance farmers'human,social and financial capital,while it cannot significantly affect the natural and physical capital.Industrial development had heterogeneous effects on farmers'livelihood capital,more efficiently impacting on the non-poor than the poor.The effects on farmers'livelihood capital varied across regions,with Guizhou experiencing a larger effect than Sichuan.However,the effect was insignificant for farmers in Gansu.To improve farmers'livelihood capital,it is necessary to take measures to strengthen their human capital,promote the innovation of financial products,and make good use of their social capital;it is also essential to strengthen the support of industrial development to the poor.展开更多

After the cluster analysis on GDP per capita and GDP per area of each county in Liaoning Province, this paper finds the similarity of population size, land use intensity, and economic development of each county. Location quotient reflects the specialization intensity of industries in each county, and it also reflects the spatial differences of county-level industrial development. Economic development level is higher in the southeast than in the northwest of Liaoning, and the industry driving effect on county-level economy is apparent. The main influenc- ing factors include location, industrial foundation and economic system reform, capital input level, knowledge and technology dissemination, conditions of domestic and overseas markets, population and labor force transfer. Industri- alization is an important approach to urbanization for the counties in Liaoning Province. To achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and maintain high-quality economic growth,China is currently striving to improve the quality of development of its power sector.In this regard,revealing the...To achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and maintain high-quality economic growth,China is currently striving to improve the quality of development of its power sector.In this regard,revealing the regional differences and evolutionary trends in the development quality of China’power sector has a high value to inspire the next improvement direction toward how to integrate regional power recourses to an overall optimization level.Motived by this purpose,this paper uses the entropy method to evaluate the com‐prehensive and subsystem indices of the development quality of the power industry,and reveals their re‐gional differences and evolutionary trends with the help of the Dagum Gini coefficient and Kernel density es‐timation methods.The findings show that:There are obvious regional differences in the development quality of China’s power industry,and the differences are steadily declining in all regions except the West.Regional differences are mainly derived from inter-regional differences,with the largest inter-regional differences in the East-Northeast region.Intra-regional differences show a distribution pattern of East>West>North‐east>Center.展开更多

文摘Due to environmental damage and natural resource scarcity,the promotion of industrial green development to spur the industrial economy is of concern to many countries.We construct a theoretical framework of technological innovation,market proximity,and industrial green development and subsequently test it empirically.First,the results reveal that technological innovation is beneficial to industrial green development;technological innovation has a positive impact on industrial green development in adjacent regions through technology spillover,but human capital spillover has the opposite effect;the international market can effectively promote industrial green development,but the domestic market does the opposite.Second,the interaction between technology spillover,human capital spillover,and domestic and international markets is beneficial to industrial green development.However,the interaction between domestic and international markets imposes an inhibitive effect on industrial green development.Based on the findings,we make recommendations to improve the level of industrial green development.
文摘The article explains the role and future trend of IT industry,and states that information technology represented by the Internet and computers has brought about the third industrial revolution in history.An important impetus for economic growth in modern times,the IT industry has greatly promoted sustainable development and is profoundly changing mankind's way of life and production.In discussing the development trend of world IT industry,the article suggests that with potential new breakthroughs in information technology,the trend of agglomeration and integration of industries has become increasingly obvious,competition of intellectual properties and standards is intensifying and ubiquitous network is taking shape.It points out that China should bring into better play the role of IT industry as an'amplifier'in economic growth,a'transformer'in development mode and a'propeller'in industrial upgrading.It is important to follow a policy that emphasizes independent innovation,market-driven approach,open and compatible technologies,integrated and comprehensive applications, and serving both military and civil purposes,so that a quantum leap of IT industry will be achieved.China should advance industrialization with information technologies and promote the IT industry in the course of industrialization in an effort to build an IT industry with Chinese characteristics.Greater efforts should be made to develop such core sectors as microelectronics,computer,software,key components and materials,as well as sectors with international competitiveness,including broadband mobile communication,next-generation network and information services.Continued improvement should be made in policies guiding the development of IT industry with a view to making China a country with a strong IT industry by 2020.

文摘Western China has lagged a lot in terms of industrial structure and economic development,compared with the national average.And China announced its target of CO_2 emission reduction,i.e.by 2020,CO_2 emission per GDP will drop by40-45%compared with 2005.The target will be incorporated into China's long-term industrial planning.Against this background,this paper will make a comprehensive examination of the industrial development of Western China,aiming to discover a green and compatible way.First,we analyze the spatiotemporal evolution of regional industrial structure for the period 2000-2010.Second,we try to discover the industrial structure optimization path for Western China by employing the Vector Auto Regression model.Lastly,we try to provide some advice and suggestions for further industrial development in Western China.Our examination shows that further industrial development in Western China should pay full attention to resource conservation and recycling,and develop on a green and compatible path.

文摘Hanyuan Prickly Ash is a type of GI products with very deep cultural essence.From such humanistic factors as name origin,historical origin,fame,cultivation technology,and management measure,and such natural factors as climatic environment and soil conditions,this paper analysis key factors for protection of GI product Hanyuan Prickly Ash.Then it discusses about industrial development of Hanyuan Prickly Ash from suitable planting areas and climate.It proposes that we should gradually raise safety and hygienic indexes,revise and implement local standards,strengthen popularization of harmless production technologies and quality control of product,promote "enterprise + base" industrial model,and implement government marketing of brand and industry.
文摘In recent years,under the stimulation of the national policy and the land circulation policy,the villages and towns have begun to guide the farmers to carry on the land circulation in an orderly way,combine the targeted poverty alleviation with the development of modern agriculture,and drive the registered households to participate in the modern agricultural industry and achieve the goal of getting rid of poverty and getting rich while realizing the transformation and upgrading of agriculture. The transfer of land management right can drive the local employment and the poverty reduction through industrial development is implemented. Taking Mopi Village in Xinping County as an example,this paper analyzes the main methods and effects of the transfer of land management right in this village in promoting poverty reduction through industrial development,and puts forward the existing problems and suggestions.

文摘Using three kinds of labor skills training methods(expert team training,recruit training and local agricultural extension center training),based on enterprise planting and farmer planting,this paper analyzes the impact of training methods on the development of potato industry,such as yield,income and planting extension.The results show that the expert team training,recruit training and labor skills training of local agricultural extension center can significantly improve the labor quality and skills,and increase the yield and income of winter potatoes.The expert team training,recruit training and local agricultural extension center training can lift growers out of poverty and improve the willingness of people to plant and extend.The winter potato industry has become one of the pillar industries to shake off poverty and become rich,increasing local economic benefits.Through labor skills training,the winter potato industry has become one of the main industries to improve the quality of the local people and increase economic income,promoting the local people to shake off poverty and become well-off.

文摘To achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and maintain high-quality economic growth,China is currently striving to improve the quality of development of its power sector.In this regard,revealing the regional differences and evolutionary trends in the development quality of China’power sector has a high value to inspire the next improvement direction toward how to integrate regional power recourses to an overall optimization level.Motived by this purpose,this paper uses the entropy method to evaluate the com‐prehensive and subsystem indices of the development quality of the power industry,and reveals their re‐gional differences and evolutionary trends with the help of the Dagum Gini coefficient and Kernel density es‐timation methods.The findings show that:There are obvious regional differences in the development quality of China’s power industry,and the differences are steadily declining in all regions except the West.Regional differences are mainly derived from inter-regional differences,with the largest inter-regional differences in the East-Northeast region.Intra-regional differences show a distribution pattern of East>West>North‐east>Center.
