Brain plasticity, including anatomical changes and functional reorganization, is the physiological basis of functional recovery after spinal cord injury(SCI). The correlation between brain anatomical changes and functional reorganization after SCI is unclear. This study aimed to explore whether alterations of cortical structure and network function are concomitant in sensorimotor areas after incomplete SCI. Eighteen patients with incomplete SCI(mean age 40.94 ± 14.10 years old; male:female, 7:11) and 18 healthy subjects(37.33 ± 11.79 years old; male:female, 7:11) were studied by resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging. Gray matter volume(GMV) and functional connectivity were used to evaluate cortical structure and network function, respectively. There was no significant alteration of GMV in sensorimotor areas in patients with incomplete SCI compared with healthy subjects. Intra-hemispheric functional connectivity between left primary somatosensory cortex(BA1) and left primary motor cortex(BA4), and left BA1 and left somatosensory association cortex(BA5) was decreased, as well as inter-hemispheric functional connectivity between left BA1 and right BA4, left BA1 and right BA5, and left BA4 and right BA5 in patients with SCI. Functional connectivity between both BA4 areas was also decreased. The decreased functional connectivity between the left BA1 and the right BA4 positively correlated with American Spinal Injury Association sensory score in SCI patients. The results indicate that alterations of cortical anatomical structure and network functional connectivity in sensorimotor areas were non-concomitant in patients with incomplete SCI, indicating the network functional changes in sensorimotor areas may not be dependent on anatomic structure. The strength of functional connectivity within sensorimotor areas could serve as a potential imaging biomarker for assessment and prediction of sensory function in patients with incomplete SCI. Therapeutic effect of mifepristone combined with misoprostol in early missed miscarriage and prediction of incomplete abortion 被引量:2

Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of mifepristone-misoprostol medical management versus surgical curettage for first-trimester missed miscarriage,and to establish evidence-based sonographic cutoff values predictive of incomplete abortion requiring surgical intervention.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 702 women diagnosed with first-trimester missed miscarriage between January 2020 and May 2023.Demographic characteristics and ultrasound parameters were systematically recorded.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis was performed to establish optimal sonographic cutoff values for predicting incomplete abortion requiring surgical intervention.Results:146 patients received medical treatment(mifepristone and misoprostol)and 556 underwent surgical curettage.At the 1-month follow-up,the medical group showed significantly greater endometrial thickness and longer postoperative bleeding duration than the surgical group(P<0.05).The menstrual volume reduction rate(23.56%)was significantly lower in the medical group than in the surgical group.The incomplete abortion rate was higher in the medical group(17.12%,25/146)than in the surgical group(2.88%,16/556).Among the medical group,14 patients(9.59%)required curettage due to incomplete abortion,while 11 cases resolved spontaneously after prolonged medication.ROC curve analysis identified two cut-off values indicating the need for surgical intervention:endometrial thickness>1.21 cm at 24 h post-medical abortion,and residual mass diameter>0.95 cm at 7 days post-medical abortion.Conclusions:Medical management of first-trimester missed miscarriage using mifepristone-misoprostol demonstrates comparable efficacy to surgical curettage.An endometrial thickness>1.21 cm at 24 h or residual tissue diameter>0.95 cm at 7 days post-medical abortion should prompt consideration of incomplete abortion. 展开更多

The relationship between the importance of criterion and the criterion aggregation function is discussed, criterion's weight and combinational weights between some criteria are defined, and a multi-criteria classification method with incomplete certain information and polynomial aggregation function is proposed. First, linear programming is constructed by classification to reference alternative set (assignment examples) and incomplete certain information on criterion's weights. Then the coefficient of the polynomial aggregation function and thresholds of categories are gained by solving the linear programming. And the consistency index of alternatives is obtained, the classification of the alternatives is achieved. The certain criteria's values of categories and uncertain criteria's values of categories are discussed in the method. Finally, an example shows the feasibility and availability of this method. 展开更多

High complexity and uncertainty of air combat pose significant challenges to target intention prediction.Current interpolation methods for data pre-processing and wrangling have limitations in capturing interrelationships among intricate variable patterns.Accordingly,this study proposes a Mogrifier gate recurrent unit-D(Mog-GRU-D)model to address the com-bat target intention prediction issue under the incomplete infor-mation condition.The proposed model directly processes miss-ing data while reducing the independence between inputs and output states.A total of 1200 samples from twelve continuous moments are captured through the combat simulation system,each of which consists of seven dimensional features.To bench-mark the experiment,a missing valued dataset has been gener-ated by randomly removing 20%of the original data.Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed model obtains the state-of-the-art performance with an accuracy of 73.25%when dealing with incomplete information.This study provides possi-ble interpretations for the principle of target interactive mecha-nism,highlighting the model’s effectiveness in potential air war-fare implementation. 展开更多

The present work aims to achieve a fast and accurate analytical solution of the point kinetics equations applied to subcritical reactors such as ADS (Accelerator-Driven System), assuming a linear reactivity and external source variation. It was used a new set of point kinetics equations for subcritical systems based on the model proposed by Gandini & Salvatores. In this work it was employed the integrating factor method. The analytical solution for the case of interest was obtained by using only an approximation which consists of disregarding the term of the second derivative for neutron density in relation to time when compared with the other terms of the equation. And also, it is proposed an approximation for the upper incomplete gamma function found in the solution in order to make the computational processing faster. In addition, for purposes of validation and comparison a numerical solution was obtained by the finite differences method. Finally, it can be concluded that the obtained solution is accurate and has fast numerical processing time, especially when compared with the results of numerical solution by finite difference. One can also observe that the gamma approximation used achieve a high accuracy for the usual parameters. Thus we got satisfactory results when the solution is applied to practical situations, such as a reactor startup. 展开更多

When multiple LCC-HVDC transmission lines are densely fed into a receiving AC system,voltage dips can easily propagate in the power system,resulting in multiple LCC commutation failures simultaneously.The VSC-HVDC can be used to divide the receiving sys-tem into several interconnected sub-partitions and improve the voltage support capability of the receiving system.Compared with asyn-chronous interconnection,which completely separates the receiving systems with VSC-HVDC,incomplete segmentation with an AC connection is a more pertinent segmenting method for multilayer complex regional power grids.To analyze the voltage support capability of the VSC in incomplete segmentation,a micro-incremental model of the VSC was established,the operating impedance of the VSC was calculated,and the voltage support function of the VSC was quantified.The effect of the fault on the system short-circuit capacity was analyzed,and a calculation method for the multi-infeed short-circuit ratio in an incompletely segmented scenario was obtained.A VSC-segmented model of a two-infeed DC system was built on the EMTDC/PSCAD simulation platform,and the validity of the micro-increment model and accuracy of the proposed conclusions were verified. 展开更多

The widespread usage of rechargeable batteries in portable devices,electric vehicles,and energy storage systems has underscored the importance for accurately predicting their lifetimes.However,data scarcity often limits the accuracy of prediction models,which is escalated by the incompletion of data induced by the issues such as sensor failures.To address these challenges,we propose a novel approach to accommodate data insufficiency through achieving external information from incomplete data samples,which are usually discarded in existing studies.In order to fully unleash the prediction power of incomplete data,we have investigated the Multiple Imputation by Chained Equations(MICE)method that diversifies the training data through exploring the potential data patterns.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly outperforms the baselines in the most considered scenarios while reducing the prediction root mean square error(RMSE)by up to 18.9%.Furthermore,we have also observed that the penetration of incomplete data benefits the explainability of the prediction model through facilitating the feature selection. 展开更多

In this paper,a distributed adaptive dynamic programming(ADP)framework based on value iteration is proposed for multi-player differential games.In the game setting,players have no access to the information of others'system parameters or control laws.Each player adopts an on-policy value iteration algorithm as the basic learning framework.To deal with the incomplete information structure,players collect a period of system trajectory data to compensate for the lack of information.The policy updating step is implemented by a nonlinear optimization problem aiming to search for the proximal admissible policy.Theoretical analysis shows that by adopting proximal policy searching rules,the approximated policies can converge to a neighborhood of equilibrium policies.The efficacy of our method is illustrated by three examples,which also demonstrate that the proposed method can accelerate the learning process compared with the centralized learning framework. 展开更多

This study investigates the properties of high-purity starches extracted from Polygonum multiflorum(PMS)and Smilax glabra(SGS).The starches were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,high-performance anion-exchange chromatography,and differential scanning calorimetry.Significant differences were observed in their morphological,physicochemical,and functional properties.PMS had a smaller particle size(13.68 μm),irregular polygonal shape,A-type,lower water absorption(62.67 %),and higher oil absorption(51.17 %).In contrast,SGS exhibited larger particles(31.75 μm),a nearly spherical shape,B-type,higher crystallinity(50.66 %),and greater amylose content(21.54 %),with superior thermal stability,shear resistance,and gelatinization enthalpy.SGS also contained higher resistant starch(83.28 %) and longer average chain length(20.58 %),but showed lower solubility,swelling power,light transmittance,and freeze-thaw stability.The physicochemical properties differences in crystal pattern and particle morphology between PMS and SGS lead to distinct behaviors during in vitro digestion and fermentation.These findings highlight the potential of medicinal plant starches in functional ingredients and industrial processes. 展开更多

Gauss radial basis functions(GRBF)are frequently employed in data fitting and machine learning.Their linear independence property can theoretically guarantee the avoidance of data redundancy.In this paper,one of the main contributions is proving this property using linear algebra instead of profound knowledge.This makes it easy to read and understand this fundamental fact.The proof of linear independence of a set of Gauss functions relies on the constructing method for one-dimensional space and on the deducing method for higher dimensions.Additionally,under the condition of preserving the same moments between the original function and interpolating function,both the interpolating existence and uniqueness are proven for GRBF in one-dimensional space.The final work demonstrates the application of the GRBF method to locate lunar olivine.By combining preprocessed data using GRBF with the removing envelope curve method,a program is created to find the position of lunar olivine based on spectrum data,and the numerical experiment shows that it is an effective scheme. 展开更多

Saikosaponins are the major pharmacologically active components in Bupleurum genus and exhibit significant application potential in multiple fields such as immune regulation and anti-tumor activity.To elucidate the biosynthetic pathway of saikosaponins,we identified two cytochrome P450 monooxygenases,CYP716A41 and CYP716Y4,in Bupleurum chinense.These enzymes catalyze the C-28 oxidation and C-16 hydroxylation of oleanane-type triterpene skeletons,respectively.The catalytic efficiency of CYP716A41 from a southern B.chinense variety was significantly higher than that from a northern variety.Molecular docking and mutagenesis experiments revealed that amino acid residues at sites 9 and 35 may contribute to this difference in catalytic efficiency.Additionally,under cold stress,the expression levels of both CYP450 genes and the saikosaponin contents in the leaves of southern varieties were significantly higher compared to those in northern varieties.The variation in the catalytic efficiency of CYP716A41 and the differential expression of the two CYP450 genes under cold stress during winter are associated with the differences in saikosaponin biosynthesis in the leaves of southern and northern B.chinense varieties.This is consistent with the distinct medicinal usage practices observed between southern and northern China. 展开更多

The effect of complete and incomplete Pelvic Autonomic nerves Preservation on Urination Function in Patient With Resection of Rectal Carcinoma

Methods: The changes of pre-and post-operative residual urine volume (RUV) in patient undergoing complete PANP (n = 15) and incomplete PANP (n = 17) were observed. Results: In fifteen cases with complete PANP, preoperative RUV was 4.09 ml, 14 days and 3 months after operation RUV were 8.00 ml and 7.02 ml (P 〉 0.05). In seventeen cases with incomplete PANP, preoperative RUV was 3.90 ml, 14 days and 3 months after operation RUV were 36.55 ml and 22.64 ml (P 〈 0.001 ). Conclusion: Complete and incomplete pelvic autonomic preservation may affect urination function in patients with resection of rectal carcinoma and RUV is an effective indicator if the pelvic autonomic nerves are preserved completely. 展开更多

Spinal cord injury represents a severe form of central nervous system trauma for which effective treatments remain limited.Microglia is the resident immune cells of the central nervous system,play a critical role in spinal cord injury.Previous studies have shown that microglia can promote neuronal survival by phagocytosing dead cells and debris and by releasing neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory factors.However,excessive activation of microglia can lead to persistent inflammation and contribute to the formation of glial scars,which hinder axonal regeneration.Despite this,the precise role and mechanisms of microglia during the acute phase of spinal cord injury remain controversial and poorly understood.To elucidate the role of microglia in spinal cord injury,we employed the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitor PLX5622 to deplete microglia.We observed that sustained depletion of microglia resulted in an expansion of the lesion area,downregulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,and impaired functional recovery after spinal cord injury.Next,we generated a transgenic mouse line with conditional overexpression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor specifically in microglia.We found that brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia increased angiogenesis and blood flow following spinal cord injury and facilitated the recovery of hindlimb motor function.Additionally,brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia reduced inflammation and neuronal apoptosis during the acute phase of spinal cord injury.Furthermore,through using specific transgenic mouse lines,TMEM119,and the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitor PLX73086,we demonstrated that the neuroprotective effects were predominantly due to brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia rather than macrophages.In conclusion,our findings suggest the critical role of microglia in the formation of protective glial scars.Depleting microglia is detrimental to recovery of spinal cord injury,whereas targeting brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia represents a promising and novel therapeutic strategy to enhance motor function recovery in patients with spinal cord injury. 展开更多

This study aims to explore the impact of fatigue induced by different limb exercises on cerebral cortical oxygenation levels and functional connectivity strength using functional near-infrared spectroscopy(fNIRS).Fatigue was induced using an upper limb ergometer or a lower limb ergometer,with the load increasing gradually each minute.fNIRS covering the prefrontal cortex and motor cortex were used to collect data during the resting state,both before and after fatigue induction.A two-way ANOVA was conducted to examine differences in oxyhemoglobin(HbO_(2))and functional connectivity before and after fatigue induction in both groups,with the significance level set at 0.05.Exercise-induced fatigue in both the upper and lower limbs leads to a significant decrease in cerebral cortical oxygenation levels.Upper limb fatigue leads to a significant reduction in functional connectivity,there were significant decreases in connectivity within the motor cortex,between the motor cortex and frontal regions,and between the right ventrolateral prefrontal cortex and other frontal regions.Conversely,no significant changes were observed before and after lower limb fatigue.Future studies should focus on examining the extent to which how changes in the cerebral cortex,induced by exercise fatigue,are linked to exercise-and/or performance-related outcomes. 展开更多

Functional gastrointestinal disorders(FGIDs),including irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),functional dyspepsia(FD),and gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD),present persistent diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to symptom heterogeneity and the absence of reliable biomarkers.Artificial intelligence(AI)enables the integration of multimodal data to enhance FGID management through precision diagnostics and preventive healthcare.This minireview summarizes recent advancements in AI applications for FGIDs,highlighting progress in diagnostic accuracy,subtype classification,personalized interventions,and preventive strategies inspired by the traditional Chinese medicine concept of“treating the undiseased”.Machine learning and deep learning algorithms have demonstrated value in improving IBS diagnosis,refining FD neuro-gastrointestinal subtyping,and screening for GERD-related complications.Moreover,AI supports dietary,psychological,and integrative medicine-based interventions to improve patient adherence and quality of life.Nonetheless,key challenges remain,including data heterogeneity,limited model interpretability,and the need for robust clinical validation.Future directions emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration,the development of multimodal and explainable AI models,and the creation of patientcentered platforms to facilitate a shift from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.This review provides a systematic framework to guide the clinical application and theoretical innovation of AI in FGIDs. 展开更多

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),a disease responsible for early mortality worldwide,is well accepted to be associated with periodontitis epidemiologically.Although both of the diseases are the multi-microbial inflammatory disease,the precise underlying mechanisms by which periodontitis influences the progression of COPD remains largely unknown.Here,we established COPD accompanied with periodontitis mouse models and observed the pronounced progress in pulmonary symptoms and histopathology,cha racterized by poorer respiratory function,thicke ned bronchial walls,and increased neutrophils infiltration in lung tissue.Mechanistically,periodontitis pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis)relocated in the lung through the respiratory tract and LPS from P.gingivalis promoted the secretion of chemokines CXCL2 and G-CSF of alveolar epithelial cells through NF-κB and p38 MAPK pathways to recruit neutrophils.Furthermore,exposure to P.gingivalis of infiltrated neutrophils released matrix metallopeptidase-8(MMP-8)and neutrophil elastase(NE),which aggravated airway inflammation and tissue damage.These findings indicated that periodontitis could exacerbate COPD via its pathogen P.gingivalis,which translocated in the lung and stimulated neutrophil chemotaxis and activation in the lung. 展开更多
