Therefore,it is of utmost importance to analyze the relation between reading behavior and entrepreneurial performance. Based on the survey data of 200 enterprises in one- hour economic circle of Chongqing,this paper analyzed three dimensions of reading behavior of entrepreneurs: reading subjects,reading media,and reading environment. It analyzed the relation between these three indicators and entrepreneurial performance. It further divided entrepreneurial performance into survival performance and financial performance. Finally,it came up with following conclusions:( i) good reading exerts significantly positive effect on survival performance of entrepreneurial enterprises;( ii) suitable reading environment plays a positive role in financial performance of entrepreneurial enterprises.展开更多

Design/methodology/approach： Drawing on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology （UTAUT）, and integrating perceived enjoyment, we put forward a theoretical research model of factors affecting continuance intention of mobile reading. Using 186 valid data collected through a questionnaire survey, we conducted data analysis with the partial least squares structural equation modeling （PLS-SEM）. Findings： The results show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and perceived enjoyment all have positive impacts on continuance intention. Among them, perceived enjoyment has the most significant effect on continuance intention, followed by performance expectancy. In addition, effort expectancy significantly influences perceived enjoyment. Contrary to our expectation, facilitating conditions have no impact on continuance intention. Practical implications： This study could help mobile data service providers to foster users＇ continuous usage of mobile reading. Research limitations： This study focused only on the effect of perceived enjoyment as an internal motivation on continuance intention of mobile reading, and other possible factors were not considered. Also, continuance intention may be different from the actual behavior. Furthermore, data of student users was collected from one university in China, and was cross-sectional, while working samples were not considered. Originality value： This study considers the effects of both external and internal motivation on continuance intention of mobile reading. This paper aims to provide a snapshot of major studies on digital reading over the past few years.Design/methodology/approach: This paper begins by introducing the background in digital reading, then outlines major research findings.Findings: The paper demonstrates the growth of interest in information science and other disciplines in digital reading behavior. Five areas are highlighted: Digital reading behavior,print vs. digital, preference for reading medium, multi-tasking and learning, and technological advancement and traditional attachment.Research limitations: Only major studies in the North American and European countries are covered.Practical implications: Understanding reading behavior in the digital environment would help develop more effective reading devices and empower readers in the online environment.Originality/value: The paper represents a first attempt to compare, evaluate, and synthesize recent studies on digital reading. The...In this paper,a series of major policy decisions used to improve the power grid reliability,reduce the risk and losses of major power outages,and realize the modernization of 21st century power grid are discussed. These decisions were adopted by American government and would also be helpful for the strategic development of Chinese power grid. It is proposed that China should take precaution,carry out security research on the overall dynamic behaviour characteristics of the UHV grid using the complexity theory,and finally provide safeguard for the Chinese UHV grid. It is also pointed out that,due to the lack of matured approaches to controll a cascading failure,the primary duty of a system operator is to work as a "watchdog" for the grid operation security,eliminate the cumulative effect and reduce the risk and losses of major cascading outages with the help of EMS and WAMS.展开更多

The aim of this study is to evaluate the germination behavior, as well as viability levels, through germination tests and tetrazolium, of Vaccinium ashei Reade seed cultivars Briteblue and Climax. Seeds treated or not with 5 M potassium hydroxide (KOH) were submitted to the germination test, on substrates, filter paper (SP) or solid culture medium with half of the salt concentration (MS/2), at temperatures of 10°C ± 2°C or 25°C ± 2°C. The maximum germination percentage of blueberry seeds was 40%. Both temperatures and substrates caused seed germination in the tested cultivars, and pretreatment with 5 M KOH for 5 minutes inhibited germination. Yet, the tetrazolium test, based on coloration of tissue, allowed the establishment of different levels of viability.展开更多
