They are, respectively, based on the theories of interval mathematics and convex models. The uncertain-but-bounded impulses are assumed to be a convex set, hyper-rectangle or ellipsoid. For the two non-probabilistic methods, less prior information is required about the uncertain nature of impulses than the probabilistic model. Comparisons between the interval analysis method and the convex model, which are developed as an anti-optimization problem of finding the least favorable impulsive response and the most favorable impulsive response, are made through mathematical analyses and numerical calculations. The results of this study indicate that under the condition of the interval vector being determined from an ellipsoid containing the uncertain impulses, the width of the impulsive responses predicted by the interval analysis method is larger than that by the convex model; under the condition of the ellipsoid being determined from an interval vector containing the uncertain impulses, the width of the interval impulsive responses obtained by the interval analysis method is smaller than that by the convex model.展开更多

Using some suitable conditions and the symbolic programming method in Maple 15 we obtained the asymptotic expansion for the inverse B-transform then used the residue theorem to obtain solutions of Impulsive Diffusion and Von-Foerster-Makendrick models. The results obtained suggest that drugs that are needed for prophylactic or chemotherapeutic purposing the concentration must not be allowed to oscillate about the steady state. Drugs that are to be used for immunization should not oscillate at steady state in order to have long residue effect in the blood. From Von-Foerster-Makendrick model, we obtained the conditions for population of the specie to attain super saturation level through the “dying effect” phenomenon ([2-4]). We used this phenomenon to establish that the environment cannot accommodate the population of the specie anymore which mean that a catastrophic stage t* is reached that only the fittest can survive beyond this regime (i.e. t > t*) and that there would be sharp competition for food, shelter and waste disposal etc.展开更多

Our simulation results indicate the existence of alternative mediators such as ATP and 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate, in addition to already known acetaldehyde or pyruvate. Further, it is also suggested that the alternative intercellular communicator plays a more important role in the respect that these can synchronize oscillations instantaneously not only with difference phases but also with different periods. Relations between intercellular coupling and synchronization mechanisms are also analyzed and discussed by changing the values of parameters such as the diffusion coefficient and the cell density that can reflect in tercellular coupling strength.展开更多

In this study, the hyperchaotic Lu system is exactly represented by the T-S fuzzy model and an impulsive control framework is proposed for stabilizing the hyperchaotic Lu system, which is also suitable for classes of T-S fuzzy hyperchaotic systems, such as the hyperchaotic Rossler, Chen, Chua systems and so on. Sufficient conditions for achieving stability in impulsive T-S fuzzy hyperchaotic systems are derived by using Lyapunov stability theory in the form of the linear matrix inequality, and are less conservative in comparison with existing results. Although a large num- ber of software reliability growth models (SRGMs), including those combined with multiple change-points (CPs), have been available, these conventional SRGMs cannot be directly applied to web soft- ware reliability analysis because of the complex web operational profile. To characterize the web operational profile precisely, it should be realized that the workload of a web server is normally non-homogeneous and often observed with the pattern of random impulsive shocks. A web software reliability model with random im- pulsive shocks and its statistical analysis method are developed. In the proposed model, the web server workload is characterized by a geometric Brownian motion process. Based on a real data set from IIS server logs of ICRMS website (www.icrms.cn), the proposed model is demonstrated to be powerful for estimating impulsive shocks and web software reliability.展开更多

The appliances shared with PLC modems in the same powerline network generate different types of noises, among them the impulsive noises are the main source of interference resulting in signal distortions and bit errors during data transmission. With regard to impulsive noise many models were proposed in the literature and shared the same impulsive noise definition: “unpredictable noises measured in the receiver side”. Authors are, consequently, confronted to model thousands of impulsive noises whose plurality would very likely come from the diversity of paths that the original impulsive noise took. In this paper, an innovative modelling approach is applied to impulsive noises which are studied here directly at their sources. Noise at receiver would be simply the noise model at source convolved by powerline channel block. In the new analytical model, the impulsive noise at source is described by a succession of short pulses, each modeled by a phase-shifted Gaussian. Noises at source are classified into 6 different classes [1], and a noise generator is established for each class.展开更多
