First, this paper constructs a class of interval-valued fuzzy implications by means of a type of impli- cations and a parameter on the unit interval, then uses them to establish fully implicational reasoning methods for interval-valued fuzzy modus ponens （IFMP） and interval-valued fuzzy modus tel- lens （IFMT） problems. At the same time the reversibility properties of these methods are analyzed and the reversible conditions are given. Taking R 0_semantic Lindenbaum algebra as a prototype, the concepts of implicational lattices and regular implicational lattices which are generalizations of the concept of Boolean algebras are introduced. Besides, the concept of fuzzy implicational spaces is introduced and the representation theorem of regular implicational lattices is obtained by means of fuzzy implicational spaces. In case of Boolean algebras, the corresponding fuzzy implicational spaces are zero_dimensional compact Hausdorff spaces and herefrom it is proved that the famous Stone’s representation theorem of Boolean algebras is a corollary of the representation theorem of regular implicational lattices.展开更多

The conversion of subtropical red soils into farmland involves complex transformations of iron oxides.Investigating iron mineralogy can enhance understanding of magnetic minerals in relation to soil formation on farml...The conversion of subtropical red soils into farmland involves complex transformations of iron oxides.Investigating iron mineralogy can enhance understanding of magnetic minerals in relation to soil formation on farmland in subtropical regions.In this study,we investigated the properties of iron oxide and its environmental implications in the farmland of Meizhou city,Guangdong province.The results showed that farmland soils had higher magnetism than the red soils developed from the same metamorphic rock.The red soils displayed significantly higher concentrations of goethite and hematite than the farmland soils.The dominant factor influencing the magnetic changes in farmland and red soils was the concentration of fine-grained ferromagnetic minerals.Red soil magnetism is an indicator of soil weathering intensity,whereas farmland soil magnetism is closely related to human cultivation activities.In contrast to the red soils,the farmland soils lacked the pronounced transformation of ferromagnetic minerals into hematite and goethite.A vigorous oxidation process catalyzes the transformation of strong magnetic minerals into significant amounts of hematite and goethite,which promotes the reduced magnetism of red soils.The conversion of red soils into farmland soils initially increased the accumulation of ferromagnetic materials due to cultivation processes.However,long-term cultivation led to the gradual loss of fine-grained ferromagnetic minerals,while goethite and lepidocrocite became the dominant magnetic mineral types.展开更多

BACKGROUND Lumbar disc extrusion,a common spinal disorder,is particularly uncommon in its severely displaced form,especially in young patients.This condition can pose diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific prese...BACKGROUND Lumbar disc extrusion,a common spinal disorder,is particularly uncommon in its severely displaced form,especially in young patients.This condition can pose diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific presentation.CASE SUMMARY A 36-year-old male patient presented with persistent low back pain and radiating leg pain lasting half a month,which had worsened over the previous four days.Lumbar magnetic resonance imaging scans showed an abnormal signal within the vertebral canal at the L3 level,suggesting either a disc cyst or an epidural hematoma.Based on these findings,the patient was provisionally diagnosed with either condition.Surgical exploration was conducted,revealing an extruded lumbar disc,which was subsequently excised.Following surgery,the patient's symptoms completely resolved.CONCLUSION High-grade lumbar disc extrusion in young patients is rare but should be considered in sedentary,physically inactive individuals presenting with lumbocrural pain and abnormal magnetic resonance imaging findings.Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial to avoid misdiagnosis,and prompt open surgery may be necessary in severe cases to alleviate symptoms.The case highlights the impotance of a thorough diagnostic workup and timely surgical intervention in managing such rare but potentially severe spinal disorders.展开更多

This critical review looks at the assessment of the application of artificial intelligence in handling legal documents with specific reference to medical negligence cases with a view of identifying its transformative ...This critical review looks at the assessment of the application of artificial intelligence in handling legal documents with specific reference to medical negligence cases with a view of identifying its transformative potentialities, issues and ethical concerns. The review consolidates findings that show the impact of AI in improving the efficiency, accuracy and justice delivery in the legal profession. The studies show increased efficiency in speed of document review and enhancement of the accuracy of the reviewed documents, with time efficiency estimates of 60% reduction of time. However, the review also outlines some of the problems that continue to characterize AI, such as data quality problems, biased algorithms and the problem of the opaque decision-making system. This paper assesses ethical issues related to patient autonomy, justice and non-malignant suffering, with particular focus on patient privacy and fair process, and on potential unfairness to patients. This paper’s review of AI innovations finds that regulations lag behind AI developments, leading to unsettled issues regarding legal responsibility for AI and user control over AI-generated results and findings in legal proceedings. Some of the future avenues that are presented in the study are the future of XAI for legal purposes, utilizing federated learning for resolving privacy issues, and the need to foster adaptive regulation. Finally, the review advocates for Legal Subject Matter Experts to collaborate with legal informatics experts, ethicists, and policy makers to develop the best solutions to implement AI in medical negligence claims. It reasons that there is great potential for AI to have a deep impact on the practice of law but when done, it must do so in a way that respects justice and on the Rights of Individuals.展开更多
This study analyzes whether the tax progression proviso’s calculation method for foreign income exemptions under a tax treaty breaches EU law.This research question has not yet been examined in the literature.In such...This study analyzes whether the tax progression proviso’s calculation method for foreign income exemptions under a tax treaty breaches EU law.This research question has not yet been examined in the literature.In such a case,a violation of the EU fundamental freedoms may result in taxpayers partially losing the tax-reducing effect of the basic allowance deduction due to the tax progression proviso’s calculation method in their EU or EEA state of residence.Theoretical,quantitative,and formal–analytical research methods were used to examine this issue.Moreover,the analysis uses Germany and Austria as examples.However,the findings can be replicated in all EU and EEA countries applying the same type of taxation.The study’s main contribution is demonstrating that the current progression proviso’s calculation method in Germany and Austria for income from other EU Member States and EEA states,exempt under DTAs,breaches EU law and is,therefore,prohibited.The fiscal policy implications of such unlawful taxation are highlighted.EU and EEA Member States must amend their tax laws if they violate EU law.Therefore,a new calculation method for taxation with a progression proviso is developed to bring the EU Member States’tax legislation in line with EU law.The study expands the literature on taxation and public finance,since it has not yet dealt with this issue.Moreover,the economic policy implications of the research findings are outlined.This study belongs to the field of taxation and fiscal policy and is of fundamental relevance.展开更多

文摘A typological survey across Chinese dialects reveals that,in the[i]context,the place contrasts of dental vs.palatal affricates(i.e.,[tsi-t■i]and[ts^(h)i-t■^(h)i])imply the place contrast of fricatives(i.e.,[si-■i]).Assuming a connection between the implicational relation of phonological contrasts and perceptual distinction,this study examines the relative perceptual distinction of the sound pairs[tsi-t■i][ts^(h)i-t■^(h)i]and[si-■i]through a speeded-AX discrimination experiment.The results showed that the discrimination accuracy of the[tsi-t■i]and[ts^(h)i-t■^(h)i]pairs is significantly lower than that of the[si-■i]pair,indicating that the former two pairs are perceptually less distinct than the latter pair.The results lend support to the contention that a sound pair in the unmarked category tends to be perceptually more distinct than its counterpart in a marked category.

文摘This editorial offers insights from a minireview by Venkatesh et al,who explored pharmacological adjuvants for diabetic vitrectomy.Specifically,they synthesized current knowledge and evaluated the efficacy of various adjunctive therapies in improving the outcomes of diabetic retinopathy and managing associated complications.Herein,we highlight the key roles of pharmacological adjuvants in optimizing surgical techniques,minimizing intraoperative challenges,and enhancing postoperative recovery.We further discuss the potential implications of this approach for clinical practice and future research directions in this evolving field.Overall,this editorial underscores the importance of incorporating pharmacological adjuvants into standard diabetic vitrectomy care to improve surgical outcomes and thus patients’quality of life.

文摘Depression is a widespread and debilitating mental health disorder affecting millions globally.Chronotype has been increasingly recognized as a significant factor associated with depression.This review aims to comprehensively dissect the role of chronotype in depression,providing insights into the underlying mechanisms linking chronotype to depression,as well as the potential therapeutic implications.Converging evidence indicates that evening chronotype is notably associated with an elevated risk of depression,more severe symptoms,and a higher rate of suicidality,while morning chronotype may exert a protective effect.These findings highlight that chronotype plays a crucial role in the development,manifestation,and management of depression.Nevertheless,some methodological issues of the existing studies(e.g.,reliance on self-reported chronotype assessments)should be noted and discussed.Further investigations are warranted to elucidate the intricate mechanisms underlying the relationship between chronotype and depression,establish causal links,and optimize the clinical application of chronotype-based interventions for depression.

文摘The conversion of subtropical red soils into farmland involves complex transformations of iron oxides.Investigating iron mineralogy can enhance understanding of magnetic minerals in relation to soil formation on farmland in subtropical regions.In this study,we investigated the properties of iron oxide and its environmental implications in the farmland of Meizhou city,Guangdong province.The results showed that farmland soils had higher magnetism than the red soils developed from the same metamorphic rock.The red soils displayed significantly higher concentrations of goethite and hematite than the farmland soils.The dominant factor influencing the magnetic changes in farmland and red soils was the concentration of fine-grained ferromagnetic minerals.Red soil magnetism is an indicator of soil weathering intensity,whereas farmland soil magnetism is closely related to human cultivation activities.In contrast to the red soils,the farmland soils lacked the pronounced transformation of ferromagnetic minerals into hematite and goethite.A vigorous oxidation process catalyzes the transformation of strong magnetic minerals into significant amounts of hematite and goethite,which promotes the reduced magnetism of red soils.The conversion of red soils into farmland soils initially increased the accumulation of ferromagnetic materials due to cultivation processes.However,long-term cultivation led to the gradual loss of fine-grained ferromagnetic minerals,while goethite and lepidocrocite became the dominant magnetic mineral types.

文摘BACKGROUND Lumbar disc extrusion,a common spinal disorder,is particularly uncommon in its severely displaced form,especially in young patients.This condition can pose diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific presentation.CASE SUMMARY A 36-year-old male patient presented with persistent low back pain and radiating leg pain lasting half a month,which had worsened over the previous four days.Lumbar magnetic resonance imaging scans showed an abnormal signal within the vertebral canal at the L3 level,suggesting either a disc cyst or an epidural hematoma.Based on these findings,the patient was provisionally diagnosed with either condition.Surgical exploration was conducted,revealing an extruded lumbar disc,which was subsequently excised.Following surgery,the patient's symptoms completely resolved.CONCLUSION High-grade lumbar disc extrusion in young patients is rare but should be considered in sedentary,physically inactive individuals presenting with lumbocrural pain and abnormal magnetic resonance imaging findings.Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial to avoid misdiagnosis,and prompt open surgery may be necessary in severe cases to alleviate symptoms.The case highlights the impotance of a thorough diagnostic workup and timely surgical intervention in managing such rare but potentially severe spinal disorders.

文摘Schizophrenia is a multifaceted neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by hallucinations,delusions,cognitive deficits,and emotional dysregulation.The prefrontal cortex(PFC),essential for executive functions,working memory,and emotional regulation,is notably impaired in this condition.This review consolidates current insights into the role of PFC dysfunction in schizophrenia,with a focus on its implications for therapeutic strategies.The neuroanatomical and neurobiological foundations of PFC dysfunction are explored,emphasizing structural abnormalities,functional dysconnectivity,and microcircuit disruptions that contribute to cognitive deficits and impaired decision-making.Clinical implications are discussed,particularly the correlation between PFC dysfunction and the severity and progression of schizophrenia symptoms.Additionally,pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches aimed at modulating PFC activity are reviewed as potential therapeutic options.In conclusion,a deeper understanding of PFC dysfunction is pivotal for developing targeted treatments,and ongoing research offers promising avenues for enhancing outcomes for individuals affected by this debilitating disorder.

文摘Hepatitis B virus remains a major cause of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma,with genetic polymorphisms and mutations influencing immune responses and disease progression.Nguyen et al present novel findings on specific human leukocyte antigen(HLA)alleles,including rs2856718 of HLA-DQ and rs3077 and rs9277535 of HLA-DP,which may predispose individuals to cirrhosis and liver cancer,based on multi-clustering analysis.Here,we discuss the feasibility of this approach and identify key areas for further investigation,aiming to offer insights for advancing clinical practice and research in liver disease and related cancers.
文摘This critical review looks at the assessment of the application of artificial intelligence in handling legal documents with specific reference to medical negligence cases with a view of identifying its transformative potentialities, issues and ethical concerns. The review consolidates findings that show the impact of AI in improving the efficiency, accuracy and justice delivery in the legal profession. The studies show increased efficiency in speed of document review and enhancement of the accuracy of the reviewed documents, with time efficiency estimates of 60% reduction of time. However, the review also outlines some of the problems that continue to characterize AI, such as data quality problems, biased algorithms and the problem of the opaque decision-making system. This paper assesses ethical issues related to patient autonomy, justice and non-malignant suffering, with particular focus on patient privacy and fair process, and on potential unfairness to patients. This paper’s review of AI innovations finds that regulations lag behind AI developments, leading to unsettled issues regarding legal responsibility for AI and user control over AI-generated results and findings in legal proceedings. Some of the future avenues that are presented in the study are the future of XAI for legal purposes, utilizing federated learning for resolving privacy issues, and the need to foster adaptive regulation. Finally, the review advocates for Legal Subject Matter Experts to collaborate with legal informatics experts, ethicists, and policy makers to develop the best solutions to implement AI in medical negligence claims. It reasons that there is great potential for AI to have a deep impact on the practice of law but when done, it must do so in a way that respects justice and on the Rights of Individuals.
文摘This study analyzes whether the tax progression proviso’s calculation method for foreign income exemptions under a tax treaty breaches EU law.This research question has not yet been examined in the literature.In such a case,a violation of the EU fundamental freedoms may result in taxpayers partially losing the tax-reducing effect of the basic allowance deduction due to the tax progression proviso’s calculation method in their EU or EEA state of residence.Theoretical,quantitative,and formal–analytical research methods were used to examine this issue.Moreover,the analysis uses Germany and Austria as examples.However,the findings can be replicated in all EU and EEA countries applying the same type of taxation.The study’s main contribution is demonstrating that the current progression proviso’s calculation method in Germany and Austria for income from other EU Member States and EEA states,exempt under DTAs,breaches EU law and is,therefore,prohibited.The fiscal policy implications of such unlawful taxation are highlighted.EU and EEA Member States must amend their tax laws if they violate EU law.Therefore,a new calculation method for taxation with a progression proviso is developed to bring the EU Member States’tax legislation in line with EU law.The study expands the literature on taxation and public finance,since it has not yet dealt with this issue.Moreover,the economic policy implications of the research findings are outlined.This study belongs to the field of taxation and fiscal policy and is of fundamental relevance.

文摘Teacher professional identity is a comprehensive reflection of teachers’role perception,emotional experiences,and behavioral tendencies towards their profession.It serves as an intrinsic driving force for teachers’professional development and is also a crucial issue in teacher education research.From a global perspective,this study systematically reviews and examines relevant research on the professional identity of international Chinese language teachers(ICLTs).A comparative analysis is conducted between Chinese and foreign scholars’research in terms of theoretical foundations,research subjects,research content,and research methodologies.This comprehensive overview of the current research landscape in this field,along with a summary of existing achievements and identified problems,facilitates the transformation of fragmented research findings on ICLTs’professional identity into a systematic understanding and reveals research gaps.Building upon this foundation,the study proposes future research prospects for the professional identity of ICLTs from aspects such as the construction of a cross-cultural perspective-based teacher professional identity system,the transformation of teacher professional identity in the context of digital transformation,and case studies on ICLTs’professional identity.The aim is to promote high-quality development in both theory and practice of international Chinese language education.
文摘This article discusses the manuscript recently published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology,which explores the application of deep learning models in decision-making processes via wireless capsule endoscopy.Integrating artificial intelligence(AI)into gastrointestinal disease diagnosis represents a transformative step toward precision medicine,enhancing real-time accuracy in detecting multi-category lesions at earlier stages,including small bowel lesions and precancerous polyps,ultimately improving patient outcomes.However,the use of AI in clinical settings raises ethical considerations that extend beyond technological potential.Issues of patient privacy,data security,and potential diagnostic biases require careful attention.AI models must prioritize diverse and representative datasets to mitigate inequities and ensure diagnostic accuracy across populations.Furthermore,balancing AI with clinical expertise is crucial,positioning AI as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for physician judgment.Addressing these ethical challenges will support the responsible deployment of AI,through equitable contribution to patient-centered care.
