Alzheimers disease(AD)is a chronic neurodegenerative disease.The symptoms include memoryand spatial learning dificulties,language disorders,and loss of motivation,which get worse overtime,eventually ending in death.No...Alzheimers disease(AD)is a chronic neurodegenerative disease.The symptoms include memoryand spatial learning dificulties,language disorders,and loss of motivation,which get worse overtime,eventually ending in death.No ffective treatments are available for AD,currently.Currenttreatments only attenuate symptoms temporarily and are associated with severe side ffects.Nearinfra-red(NIR)light has been studied for a long time.We investigated the effect of NIR on ADusing a transgenic mouse model,which was obtained by co-injecting two vectors carrying ADmutations in amyloid precursor protein(APP)and presenilin-i(PSEN1)into C57BL/6J mice.The irradiation equipment consisted of an accommodating box and an LED array.The wave-length of NIR light emitted from LED was between 1040 nm and 1090 nm.The power densitydelivered at the level of the mice was approximately 15 mW/cm^(2),Firstly,we treated the micewith NIR for 40 days,Then,the irradiation was suspended for 28 days.Finally,another 15 daystreatment was brought to mice.We conducted Morris water maze and immunofluorescenceanalysis to evaluate the effects of treatment.Immunofuorescence analysis was based on mea-suring the quantity of plaques in mouse brain slices,Our results show that NIR light improvesmemory and spatial learning ability and reduces plaques moderately.NIR light represents apotential treatment for AD.展开更多
A new Quantum Dots(Qdots) nanocrystal composed of semiconductor core and zinc sulfide shell, and its feasibility as labels in immunofluorescence analysis for the imaging of tumor biomarkers by laser scanning confoca...A new Quantum Dots(Qdots) nanocrystal composed of semiconductor core and zinc sulfide shell, and its feasibility as labels in immunofluorescence analysis for the imaging of tumor biomarkers by laser scanning confocal microscope(LSCM) was investigated. Qdots taged by mercaptoacetic acid were conjugated with second antibody, then imaging differences of Heat Shock Proteins 70(HSP70) in renal carcinoma tissure sections with immunofluorescence analysis method using Qdots bioconjugates and conventional organic dye FITC were observed by LSCM to assess the brightness and opticalstability of Qdots. The experimental results showed Qdots bioconjugates achieved the better results in demonstrating HSP70 with more brighter color and more clear picture than FITC labels. Moreover, the label signals of Qdots did not fade clearly after continued exposure to a 488 nm laser for 1 h. The Qdots bioconjugates have good feasibility in immunofluorescence analysis for the bioimaging by LSCM.展开更多
Introduction:Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus(LCMV)is a globally distributed zoonotic pathogen transmitted primarily by rodents.Its nonspecific clinical presentation in the general population frequently results in u...Introduction:Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus(LCMV)is a globally distributed zoonotic pathogen transmitted primarily by rodents.Its nonspecific clinical presentation in the general population frequently results in underdiagnosis and underreporting.To date,no large-scale seroprevalence surveys of LCMV have been conducted in China.Methods:During 2023,this study collected 661 serum/plasma samples from healthy individuals and tested for anti-LCMV IgG antibodies using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Samples tested positive by ELISA underwent confirmatory testing via indirect immunofluorescence analysis(IFA)and neutralization assay(NTA).Results:ELISA detected anti-LCMV IgG antibodies in 18.31%(121/661)of samples,while IFA confirmed seropositivity in 1.97%(13/661).Four samples demonstrated neutralizing antibody activity with reduced viral infectivity.Seropositive cases were sporadically distributed across the study region,with farmers representing the predominant occupational group.Key at-risk populations identified included farmers,rural residents,and individuals with lower educational attainment.Conclusion:This study provides the first serological evidence of past LCMV infections in humans in Gansu Province.Targeted health education interventions tailored to high-risk populations are recommended to reduce future transmission.展开更多
