Modulating the gut microbiome has become an important area of research for optimizing the effects of ICB therapy. Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive integration of research findings on the gut microbiome’s impact on colorectal cancer ICB treatment, as well as a lack of unified clinical treatment guidelines. This article systematically and comprehensively explores the influence of the gut microbiome on colorectal cancer ICB treatment, including the mechanisms of therapy, challenges faced, the association between the gut microbiome and ICB treatment outcomes, and the characteristics of the gut microbiome that affect ICB treatment efficacy, summarized through a review of relevant literature. The study indicates that the gut microbiome plays a key role in maintaining human health and the disease process, with different compositions of the gut microbiome significantly impacting the efficacy of ICB treatment. Methods such as fecal microbiota transplantation, rational use of antibiotics, and probiotic supplementation to modulate the gut microbiome have become important research directions for optimizing colorectal cancer ICB treatment outcomes. This article provides references for the clinical development of gut microbiome interventions in colorectal cancer ICB treatment and offers insights for further exploration of the interaction mechanisms between the gut microbiome and ICB therapy.展开更多
