To deal with the optimal design of a redundantly actuated parallel robot used for ankle rehabilitation, a methodology of dimensional synthesis based on multi-objective optimization is presented. First, the dimensional synthesis of the redundant parallel robot is formulated as a nonlinear constrained multi-objective optimization problem. Then four objective functions, separately reflecting occupied space, input/output transmission and torque performances, and multi-criteria constraints, such as dimension, interference and kinematics, are defined. In consideration of the passive exercise of plantar/dorsiflexion requiring large output moment, a torque index is proposed. To cope with the actuation redundancy of the parallel robot, a new output transmission index is defined as well. The multi-objective optimization problem is solved by using a modified Differential Evolution(DE) algorithm, which is characterized by new selection and mutation strategies. Meanwhile, a special penalty method is presented to tackle the multi-criteria constraints. Finally, numerical experiments for different optimization algorithms are implemented. The computation results show that the proposed indices of output transmission and torque, and constraint handling are effective for the redundant parallel robot; the modified DE algorithm is superior to the other tested algorithms, in terms of the ability of global search and the number of non-dominated solutions. The proposed methodology of multi-objective optimization can be also applied to the dimensional synthesis of other redundantly actuated parallel robots only with rotational movements.展开更多

In this article, a Pareto-based multi-objective estimation of distribution algorithm with multivariate T-copulas is proposed. The algorithm employs Pareto-based approach and multivariate T-copulas to construct probability distribution model. To estimate joint distribution of the selected solutions, the correlation matrix of T-copula is firstly estimated by estimating Kendall’s tau and using the relationship of Kendall’s tau and correlation matrix. After the correlation matrix is estimated, the degree of freedom of T-copula is estimated by using the maximum likelihood method. Afterwards, the Monte Carte simulation is used to generate new individuals. An archive with maximum capacity is used to maintain the non-dominated solutions. The Pareto optimal solutions are selected from the archive on the basis of the diversity of the solutions, and the crowding-distance measure is used for the diversity measurement. The archive gets updated with the inclusion of the non-dominated solutions from the combined population and current archive, and the archive which exceeds the maximum capacity is cut using the diversity consideration. The proposed algorithm is applied to some well-known benchmark. The relative experimental results show that the algorithm has better performance and is effective.展开更多

A monthly Multi Objective Genetic Algorithm Fuzzy Optimization (MOGAFU-OPT) model for the present study is developed in ‘C’ Language. The GA parameters i.e. population size, number of generations, crossover probability, and mutation probability are decided based on optimized val-ues of fitness function. The GA operators adopted are stochastic remainder selection, one point crossover and binary mutation. Initially the model is run for maximization of irrigation releases. Then the model is run for maximization of hydropower production. These objectives are fuzzified by assuming a linear membership function. These fuzzified objectives are simultaneously maximized by defining level of satisfaction (?) and then maximizing it. This approach is applied to a multireservoir system in Godavari river sub basin in Ma-harashtra State, India. Problem is formulated with 4 reservoirs and a barrage. The optimal operation policy for maximization of irrigation releases, maximization of hydropower production and maximization of level of satisfaction is presented for existing demand in command area. This optimal operation policy so deter-mined is compared with the actual average operation policy for Jayakwadi Stage-I reservoir.展开更多

This mechanism uses the normalized distance to evaluate the difference among genes in a population. Three possible modes of crossover operators--"Max Distance", "Min-Max Distance", and "Neighboring-Max"--are suggested and analyzed. The mode of "Neighboring-Max", which not only takes advantage of hybridization but also improves the distribution of the population near Pareto optimal front, is chosen and used in NSGA-Ⅱ on the basis of hybridization-encouraged mechanism (short for HEM-based NSGA-Ⅱ). To prove the HEM-based algorithm, several problems are studied by using standard NSGA-Ⅱ and the presented method. Different evaluation criteria are also used to judge these algorithms in terms of distribution of solutions, convergence, diversity, and quality of solutions. The numerical results indicate that the application of hybridization-encouraged mechanism could effectively improve the performances of genetic algorithm. Finally, as an example in engineering practices, the presented method is used to design a longitudinal flight control system, which demonstrates the obtainability of a reasonable and correct Pareto front.展开更多

Reliable theories demand to be found in order to determine whether the structure accords with the requirement of design. For the requirement generally is dynamic variety as time passes, new requirements will come, and some initial requirements can no longer be used. The number of product requirements, the gene length expressing requirements, the structure of the product, and the correlation matrix are varied with individuation of customer requirements of the product. By researching on the calculation mechanisms of dynamic variety, the approaches of gene expression and variable length gene expression are proposed. This paper presents a straightforward and systematic methodology for implementing the structure optimization analysis of a 3-prismatic-universal-universal(PUU) PKM when simultaneously considering motion transmission, velocity transmission and acceleration transmission. Firstly, inspired by a planar four-bar linkage mechanism, the motion transmission index of the spatial parallel manipulator is based on transmission angle which is defined as the pressure angle amongst limbs. The archive gets updated with the inclusion of the non-dominated solutions from the combined population and current archive, and the archive which exceeds the maximum capacity is cut using the diversity consideration. The proposed algorithm is applied to some well-known benchmark. The relative experimental results show that the algorithm has better performance and is effective.

文摘In recent years, surrogate models derived from genuine data samples have proven to be efficient in addressing optimization challenges that are costly or time⁃intensive. However, the individuals in the population become indistinguishable as the curse of dimensionality increases in the objective space and the accumulation of surrogate approximated errors. Therefore,in this paper, each objective function is modeled using a radial basis function approach, and the optimal solution set of the surrogate model is located by the multi⁃objective evolutionary algorithm of strengthened dominance relation. The original objective function values of the true evaluations are converted to two indicator values, and then the surrogate models are set up for the two performance indicators. Finally,an adaptive infill sampling strategy that relies on approximate performance indicators is proposed to assist in selecting individuals for real evaluations from the potential optimal solution set.The algorithm is contrasted against several advanced surrogate⁃assisted evolutionary algorithms on two suites of test cases, and the experimental findings prove that the approach is competitive in solving expensive many⁃objective optimization problems.
文摘In this paper, a multi objective, multireservoir operation model is proposed using Genetic algorithm (GA) under fuzzy environment. This optimal operation policy so deter-mined is compared with the actual average operation policy for Jayakwadi Stage-I reservoir.

文摘To improve performances of multi-objective optimization algorithms, such as convergence and diversity, a hybridization- encouraged mechanism is proposed and realized in elitist nondominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-Ⅱ). Finally, as an example in engineering practices, the presented method is used to design a longitudinal flight control system, which demonstrates the obtainability of a reasonable and correct Pareto front.

文摘The pylon structure of an airplane is very complex, and its high-fidelity analysis is quite time-consuming. If posterior preference optimization algorithm is used to solve this problem, the huge time consumption will be unacceptable in engineering practice due to the large amount of evaluation needed for the algorithm. So, a new interactive optimization algorithm-interactive multi-objective particle swarm optimization (IMOPSO) is presented. IMOPSO is efficient, simple and operable. The decision-maker can expediently determine the accurate preference in IMOPSO. IMOPSO is used to perform the pylon structure optimization design of an airplane, and a satisfactory design is achieved after only 12 generations of IMOPSO evolutions. Compared with original design, the maximum displacement of the satisfactory design is reduced, and the mass of the satisfactory design is decreased for 22%.

文摘It is a complicated problem for the bottom-to-top adaptive conceptual design of complicated products between structure and function. According to the diversity of structure selection in conceptual design and mutual relations between structure and function as well as structure and structure, the correlation matrixes between structure and function as well as structure and structure are defined. By the approach of making the sum of the elements of correlation matrix maximum, the mathematical models of multi-object optimization for structure design are provided based on variable requirements. An improved genetic algorithm called segment genetic algorithm is proposed based on optimization preservation simple genetic algorithm. The models of multi-object optimization are calculated by the segment genetic algorithm and hybrid genetic algorithm. An example for the conceptual design of a washing machine is given to show that the proposed method is able to realize the optimization structure design fitting for variable requirements. In addition, the proposed approach can provide good Pareto optimization solutions, and the individuation customer requirements for structures of products are able to be resolved effectively.

文摘This paper deals with a multi-objective parameter optimization framework for energy saving in injection molding process. It combines an experimental design by Taguchi's method,a process analysis by analysis of variance(ANOVA),a process modeling algorithm by artificial neural network(ANN),and a multi-objective parameter optimization algorithm by genetic algorithm(GA)-based lexicographic method.Local and global Pareto analyses show the trade-off between product quality and energy consumption. The implementation of the proposed framework can reduce the energy consumption significantly in laboratory scale tests, and at the same time, the product quality can meet the pre-determined requirements.

文摘Multi-objective dimensional optimization of parallel kinematic manipulators(PKMs) remains a challenging and worthwhile research endeavor. Then, the velocity transmission index and acceleration transmission index are derived through the corresponding kinematics model. The multi-objective dimensional optimization under specific constraints is carried out by the improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA Ⅱ), resulting in a set of Pareto optimal solutions. The final chosen solution shows that the manipulator with the optimized structure parameters can provide excellent motion, velocity and acceleration transmission properties.
