文摘Plant roots interact with diverse fungi that are essential for maintaining the productivity and sustainability of pasture ecosystems, but how these root-associated fungi(RAF)differ between forage species and how they respond to nutrient enrichment and fungicide application are not well understood. Here,we constructed an 11-year experiment involving fungicide application(with or without)nested within four levels of experimental nitrogen(N)addition treatments in an alpine pasture, and the RAF communities, root traits, tissue nutrients, and shoot biomass of two dominant forage species(Carex capillifolia and Elymus nutans)were analyzed. The RAF community composition showed striking differences between the plant species and was strongly affected by both N addition level and fungicide applications.Fungicide, but not N application, dramatically reduced the RAF richness of all functional guilds in both plant species, and fungicide also simplified the co-occurrence network of the RAF for C.capillifolia.The RAF community correlated strongly with root traits, whereas their relationships became weakened or even vanished at the level of the individual plant species. The importance of RAF to plant nutrients and productivity varied between plant species, with significant contributions in C.capillifolia but not in E.nutans.This is the first report elucidating the long-term effect of fungicides on RAF in alpine pastures, and our findings emphasize the host-specific responses of RAF community structure and function to anthropogenic disturbances.

文摘Avian brood parasitism is a unique reproductive behavior in which parasitic birds depend on other species to incubate their eggs and raise their offspring. In China, there are 20 species of cuckoos in the family Cuculidae, order Cuculiformes,of which 17 species are parasitic cuckoos. This makes China one of the countries with the largest number of parasitic cuckoo species worldwide.Understanding the host utilization of cuckoos provides fundamental data for studying the coevolution of cuckoos with their hosts. We collected information on cuckoo hosts from the literature, photographs provided by birdwatchers, and online short video platforms, combined these data with our field observations, and summarized the parasitic cuckoos and their host species in China.A total of 1155 parasitism events were counted, involving 12 parasitic cuckoo species and 87 bird host species. These hosts belonged to 26 families, among which Muscicapidae was the most diverse with 19 species, accounting for 21.8%of the total hosts, followed by the families Phylloscopidae and Leiothrichidae with 8 species each, accounting for 9.2%of the total hosts recorded. The Common Cuckoo(Cuculus canorus)had the largest number of host taxa with 38 species, accounting for 43.7%of the total host species. This study adds 14 host species that have not been reported in China. However, for five species, the Jacobin Cuckoo(Clamator jacobinus),Banded Bay Cuckoo(Cacomantis sonneratii),Violet Cuckoo(Chrysococcyx xanthorhynchus),Common Hawkcuckoo(Hierococcyx varius),and Whistling Hawk-cuckoo(Hierococcyx nisicolor),information regarding host utilization is still lacking.

文摘Unraveling the precise mineralization age is vital to understand the geodynamic setting and ore-forming mechanism of the sediment-hosted Pb-Zn deposit;this has long been a challenge. The Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou(SYG)triangle in the southwestern margin of the Yangtze Block is a globally recognized carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn metallogenic province and also an essential part of the South China low-temperature metallogenic domain. This region has>30 million tons(Mt)Zn and Pb resources and shows the enrichment of dispersed metals, such as Ga,Ge,Cd,Se,and Tl.During the past 2 decades, abundant data on mineralization ages of Pb-Zn deposits within the SYG triangle have been documented based on various radioisotopic dating methods, resulting in significant progress in understanding the geodynamic background and ore formation of Pb-Zn deposits hosted in sedimentary rocks at SYG triangle. This paper provides a comprehensive summary of the geochronological results and Pb-Sr isotopic data regarding Pb-Zn deposits in the SYG triangle, which identified two distinct Pb-Zn mineralization periods influencing the dynamic processes associated with the expansion and closure of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean in the western margin of the Yangtze Block. The predominant phase of Pb-Zn mineralization at SYG triangle spanned from the Middle Triassic to Early Jurassic(226-191 Ma),which was intensely correlated with the large-scale basin fluid transport triggered by the closure of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean and Indosinian orogeny. The secondary Pb-Zn mineralization phase occurred during the Late Devonian to Late Carboniferous and was controlled by extensional structures associated with the expansion of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean.Further investigation is necessary to clarify the occurrence and potential factors involved in the Pb-Zn mineralization events during the Late Devonian to Late Carboniferous.
文摘The ring has been a romantic fascination throughout the ages, embodying not only beauty and order but also harboring numerous undisclosed properties awaiting discovery. In the realm of supramolecular chemistry, macrocycles, with a cyclic structure and a central cavity like a doughnut, captivate the attention of scientists[1].In 1967,Pedersen's groundbreaking revelation that alkali metal ions could"fall into"the cavities of a cyclic ether named crown ether, even in organic solvents, unveiled a novel universe of macrocycle chemistry.Since then, numerous macrocyclic structures in nature have been discovered, isolated, and scrutinized.Drawing inspiration from nature, chemists endeavor to explore the vast potential of macrocyclic compounds by designing and synthesizing artificial macrocycles with diverse structural features and recognition properties.

文摘The key to obtaining high intrinsic catalytic activity of Me-N_(x)-C electrocatalysts for Zn-air batteries is to form high-density bifunctional Me-N_(x) active sites during the pyrolysis of the precursor while maintaining structural stability. In this study,a host-vip spatial confinement strategy was utilized to synthesize a composite catalyst consisting of Co_(3)Fe_(7) nanoparticles confined in an N-doped carbon network. The coupling between the host(MIL-88B)and vip(cobalt porphyrin,CoPP)produces highdensity bimetallic atomic active sites.By controlling the mass of vip molecules,it is possible to construct precursors with the highest activity potential. The Co_(3)Fe_(7)/NC material with a certain amount of the vip displays a better electrocatalytic performance for both oxygen reduction reaction and oxygen evolution reaction with a half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.85 V and an overpotential of 1.59 V at 10 mAcm^(-2),respectively.The specific structure of bimetallic active centers is verified to be FeN2-CoN_(4) using experimental characterizations, and the oxygen reaction mechanism is explored by in-situ characterization techniques and first-principles calculations. The Zn-air battery assembled with Co_(3)Fe_(7)/NC cathode exhibits a remarkable open-circuit voltage of 1.52 V,an exceptional peak power density of 248.1mWcm^(-2),and stable cycling stability over 1000 h.Particularly, the corresponding flexible Zn-air battery affords prominent cycling performance under different bending angles. This study supplies the idea and method of designing catalysts with specific structures at the atomic and electronic scales for breaking through the large-scale application of electrocatalysts based on oxygen reactions in fuel cells/metal-air batteries.

文摘Background:Allogeneic peripheral-blood stem-cell transplantation(SCT)from a matched related donor after myeloablative conditioning is the preferred curative treatment for patients with high-risk blood cancers. The combination of a calcineurin inhibitor and an antimetabolite remains standard care for graft-versus-host disease(GVHD)prophylaxis in these patients.Data from two randomized trials have suggested that post-transplantation cyclophosphamide can reduce the risk of GVHD after SCT from a matched donor when it is added to or replaces the antimetabolite.

文摘Aromatic nitro compounds present substantial health and environmental concerns due to their toxic nature and potential explosive properties.Consequently, the development of host–vip molecular recognition systems for these compounds serves a dual-purpose:enabling the fabrication of high-performance sensors for detection and guiding the design of efficient adsorbents for environmental remediation. This study investigated the host–vip recognition behavior of perethylated pillar[n]arenes toward two aromatic nitro molecules,1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene and picric acid.Various techniques including^(1)H NMR,2D NOESY NMR,and UV-vis spectroscopy were employed to explore the binding behavior between pillararenes and aromatic nitro vips in solution. Moreover, valuable single crystal structures were obtained to elucidate the distinct solid-state assembly behaviors of these vips with different pillararenes. The assembled solid-state supramolecular structures observed encompassed a 1:1 host–vip inclusion complex,an external binding complex, and an exo-wall tessellation complex.Furthermore, based on the findings from these systems,a pillararene-based test paper was developed for efficient picric acid detection, and the removal of picric acid from solution was also achieved using pillararenes powder. This research provides novel insights into the development of diverse host–vip systems toward hazardous compounds, offering potential applications in environmental protection and explosive detection domains.

文摘Understanding microbial-host interactions in the oral cavity is essential for elucidating oral disease pathogenesis and its systemic implications. In vitro bacteria-host cell coculture models have enabled fundamental studies to characterize bacterial infection and host responses in a reductionist yet reproducible manner. However, existing in vitro coculture models fail to establish conditions that are suitable for the growth of both mammalian cells and anaerobes, thereby hindering a comprehensive understanding of their interactions. Here,we present an asymmetric gas coculture system that simulates the oral microenvironment by maintaining distinct normoxic and anaerobic conditions for gingival epithelial cells and anaerobic bacteria, respectively.Using a key oral pathobiont,Fusobacterium nucleatum,as the primary test bed,we demonstrate that the system preserves bacterial viability and supports the integrity of telomerase-immortalized gingival keratinocytes.Compared to conventional models, this system enhanced bacterial invasion, elevated intracellular bacterial loads, and elicited more robust host pro-inflammatory responses, including increased secretion of CXCL10,IL-6,and IL-8.In addition, the model enabled precise evaluation of antibiotic efficacy against intracellular pathogens. Finally,we validate the ability of the asymmetric system to support the proliferation of a more oxygen-sensitive oral pathobiont,Porphyromonas gingivalis. These results underscore the utility of this coculture platform for studying oral microbial pathogenesis and screening therapeutics, offering a physiologically relevant approach to advance oral and systemic health research.

文摘Composite solid electrolytes(CSEs)are promising for solid-state Li metal batteries but suffer from inferior room-temperature ionic conductivity due to sluggish ion transport and high cost due to expensive active ceramic fillers. Here,a host–vip inversion engineering strategy is proposed to develop superionic CSEs using cost-effective SiO_(2) nanoparticles as passive ceramic hosts and poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene)(PVH)microspheres as polymer vips, forming an unprecedented“polymer vip-in-ceramic host”(i.e.,PVH-in-SiO_(2))architecture differing from the traditional“ceramic vip-in-polymer host”.The PVH-in-SiO_(2) exhibits excellent Li-salt dissociation, achieving high-concentration free Li+.Owing to the low diffusion energy barriers and high diffusion coefficient, the free Li+is thermodynamically and kinetically favorable to migrate to and transport at the SiO_(2)/PVH interfaces.Consequently, the PVH-in-SiO_(2) delivers an exceptional ionic conductivity of 1.32.10−3 S cm−1 at 25℃(vs.typically 10−5–10−4 S cm−1 using high-cost active ceramics),achieved under an ultralow residual solvent content of 2.9 wt%(vs.8–15 wt%in other CSEs).Additionally,PVH-in-SiO_(2) is electrochemically stable with Li anode and various cathodes. Therefore, the PVH-in-SiO_(2) demonstrates excellent high-rate cyclability in LiFePO4|Li full cells(92.9%capacity-retention at 3C after 300 cycles under 25℃)and outstanding stability with high-mass-loading LiFePO4(9.2 mg cm−1)and high-voltage NCM622(147.1 mAh g−1).Furthermore,we verify the versatility of the host–vip inversion engineering strategy by fabricating Na-ion and K-ion-based PVH-in-SiO_(2) CSEs with similarly excellent promotions in ionic conductivity. Our strategy offers a simple,low-cost approach to fabricating superionic CSEs for large-scale application of solid-state Li metal batteries and beyond.

文摘Although lithium-sulfur batteries are one of the favorable candidates for next-generation energy storage devices,a few key challenges that have not been addressed have limited its commercialization. These challenges include lithium dendrite growth in the anode side, volume change of the active material, poor electrical conductivity, dissolution and migration of poly sulfides, and slow rate of solid-state reactions in the cathode side.Since the electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur batteries is greatly affected by the design of the cathode host material,it has also been widely discussed in addressing the abovementioned issues. In this paper, three design ideas of cathode host materials in terms of microstructure, crystal structure and electronic structure are introduced and summarized.Crucially, the current progress of these three structural design strategies and their effects on the electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur batteries are discussed in detail. Finally, future directions in the structural design of cathode materials for lithium-sulfur batteries are discussed and further perspectives are provided.

文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)have drawn significant attention owing to their high theoretical discharge capacity and energy density. However, the dissolution of long-chain polysulfides into the electrolyte during the charge and discharge process(“shuttle effect”)results in fast capacity fading and inferior electrochemical performance. In this study,Mn_(2)O_(3)with an ordered mesoporous structure(OM-Mn_(2)O_(3))was designed as a cathode host for LSBs via KIT-6 hard templating,to effectively inhibit the polysulfide shuttle effect.OM-Mn_(2)O_(3)offers numerous pores to confine sulfur and tightly anchor the dissolved polysulfides through the combined effects of strong polar-polar interactions, polysulfides, and sulfur chain catenation. The OM-Mn_(2)O_(3)/S composite electrode delivered a discharge capacity of 561 mAh g^(-1) after 250 cycles at 0.5 C owing to the excellent performance of OM-Mn_(2)O_(3).Furthermore,it retained a discharge capacity of 628mA h g^(-1) even at a rate of 2 C,which was significantly higher than that of a pristine sulfur electrode(206mA h g^(-1)).These findings provide a prospective strategy for designing cathode materials for high-performance LSBs.
