With the development of fast communication technology between ego vehicle and other traffic participants,and automated driving technology,there is a big potential in the improvement of energy efficiency of hybrid elec...With the development of fast communication technology between ego vehicle and other traffic participants,and automated driving technology,there is a big potential in the improvement of energy efficiency of hybrid electric vehicles(HEVs).Moreover,the terrain along the driving route is a non-ignorable factor for energy efficiency of HEV running on the hilly streets.This paper proposes a look-ahead horizon-based optimal energy management strategy to jointly improve the efficiencies of powertrain and vehicle for connected and automated HEVs on the road with slope.Firstly,a rule-based framework is developed to guarantee the success of automated driving in the traffic scenario.Then a constrained optimal control problem is formulated to minimize the fuel consumption and the electricity consumption under the satisfaction of inter-vehicular distance constraint between ego vehicle and preceding vehicle.Both speed planning and torque split of hybrid powertrain are provided by the proposed approach.Moreover,the preceding vehicle speed in the look-ahead horizon is predicted by extreme learning machine with real-time data obtained from communication of vehicle-to-everything.The optimal solution is derived through the Pontryagin’s maximum principle.Finally,to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,a traffic-in-the-loop powertrain platform with data from real world traffic environment is built.It is found that the fuel economy for the proposed energy management strategy improves in average 17.0%in scenarios of different traffic densities,compared to the energy management strategy without prediction of preceding vehicle speed.展开更多

Aiming at the missile avoidance problem of the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)in complex obstacle environments,this work proposes a collision-avoidance method based on receding horizon optimization.The proposed method ge...Aiming at the missile avoidance problem of the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)in complex obstacle environments,this work proposes a collision-avoidance method based on receding horizon optimization.The proposed method generated a specific trajectory for the UAV to effectively induce the proportional navigation missile to successfully intercept the obstacle,thereby accomplishing the evasive maneuver.The evasive maneuver was divided into two distinct stages,namely the collision-inducing phase and the fast departure phase.The obstacle potential field-based target selection algorithm was employed to identify the most appropriate target obstacle,while the induced trajectory was determined through a combination of receding horizon optimization and the hp-adaptive pseudo-spectral method.Simulation experiments were carried out under three different types of obstacle environments and one multiobstacle environment,and the simulation results show that the method proposed in this paper greatly improves the success rate of UAV evasive maneuvers,proving the effectiveness of this method.展开更多

The reuse of liquid propellant rocket engines has increased the difficulty of their control and estimation.State and parameter Moving Horizon Estimation(MHE)is an optimization-based strategy that provides the necessar...The reuse of liquid propellant rocket engines has increased the difficulty of their control and estimation.State and parameter Moving Horizon Estimation(MHE)is an optimization-based strategy that provides the necessary information for model predictive control.Despite the many advantages of MHE,long computation time has limited its applications for system-level models of liquid propellant rocket engines.To address this issue,we propose an asynchronous MHE method called advanced-multi-step MHE with Noise Covariance Estimation(amsMHE-NCE).This method computes the MHE problem asynchronously to obtain the states and parameters and can be applied to multi-threaded computations.In the background,the state and covariance estimation optimization problems are computed using multiple sampling times.In real-time,sensitivity is used to quickly approximate state and parameter estimates.A covariance estimation method is developed using sensitivity to avoid redundant MHE problem calculations in case of sensor degradation during engine reuse.The amsMHE-NCE is validated through three cases based on the space shuttle main engine system-level model,and we demonstrate that it can provide more accurate real-time estimates of states and parameters compared to other commonly used estimation methods.展开更多

We fi...We analyze spacetimes with horizons and study the thermodynamic aspects of causal horizons, suggesting that the resemblance between gravitational and thermodynamic systems has a deeper quantum mechanical origin. We find that the observer dependence of such horizons is a direct consequence of associating a temperature and entropy to a spacetime. The geometrical picture of a horizon acting as a one-way membrane for information flow can be accepted as a natural interpretation of assigning a quantum field theory to a spacetime with boundary, ultimately leading to a close connection with thermodynamics.展开更多

Then, its three factors, the current customer window, the scheduling of thecurrent customer window and the rolling strategy, are analyzed.
