However, there are three shortcomings in the linear tool path, such as discontinuities of tangency and curvature, huge number of line segments, and short lengths of line segments. These disadvantages hinder the development of high speed machining. To smooth the linear tool path and improve machining efficiency of short line segments, this paper presents an optimal feed interpolator based on G^2 continuous Bézier curves for the linear tool path. First, the areas suitable for fitting are screened out based on the geometric characteristics of continuous short segments (CSSs). CSSs in every area are compressed and fitted into a G^2 Continuous Bézier curve by using the least square method. Then a series of cubic Bézier curves are generated. However, the junction between adjacent Bézier curves is only G^0 continuous. By adjusting the control points and inserting Bézier transition curves between adjacent Bézier curves, the G^2 continuous tool path is constructed. The fitting error is estimated by the second-order Taylor formula. Without iteration, the fitting algorithm can be implemented in real-time environment. Second, the optimal feed interpolator considering the comprehensive constraints (such as the chord error constraint, the maximum normal acceleration, servo capacity of each axis, etc.) is proposed. Simulation and experiment are conducted. The results shows that the proposed method can generate smooth path, decrease the amount of segments and reduce machining time for machining of linear tool path. The proposed research provides an effective method for high-speed machining of complex 2-D/3-D profiles described by short line segments.展开更多

A finite element analysis (FEA) model has been developed to describe the static and dynamic operations of the valves. Compared with a conventional E-type actuator, the proposed ε-type actuator reduced the moving mass weight by almost 65% without significant loss of solenoid force, and reduced the response time (RT) typically by 20%. Prototype valves were designed and fabricated based on the proposed ε-type actuator model. An experimental setup was also established to investigate the dynamic characteristics of valves. The experimental results of the dynamics of valves agreed well with simulations, indicating the validity of the FEA model.展开更多

Ho...The wheel-rail contact problems, such as the number, location and the track of contact patches, are very important for optimizing the spatial structure of the rails and lowering the vehicle-turnout system dynamics. However, the above problems are not well solved currently because of having the difficulties in how to determine the multi-contact, to preciously present the changeable profiles of the rails and to establish an accurate spatial turnout system dynamics model. Based on a high-speed vehicle-turnout coupled model in which the track is modeled as flexible with rails and sleepers represented by beams, the line tracing extreme point method is introduced to investigate the wheel-rail multiple contact conditions and the key sections of the blade rail, longer nose rail, shorter rail in the switch and nose rail area are discretized to represent the varying profiles of rails in the turnout. The dynamic interaction between the vehicle and turnout is simulated for cases of the vehicle divergently passing the turnout and the multi-point contact is obtained. The tracks of the contact patches on the top of the rails are presented and the wheel-rail impact forces are offered in comparison with the contact patches transference on the rails. The numerical simulation results indicate that the length of two-point contact occurrence of a worn wheel profile and rails is longer than that of the new wheel profile and rails; The two-point contact definitely occurs in the switch and crossing area. Generally, three-point contact doesn’t occur for the new rail profile, which is testified by the wheel-rails interpolation distance and the first order derivative function of the tracing line extreme points. The presented research is not only helpful to optimize the structure of the turnout, but also useful to lower the dynamics of the high speed vehicle-turnout system.展开更多

Firstly, combined with line tests, a vehicle body with a length of 7 m was used as the research object. By comparing the results of experiment and simulation, the accuracy of the finite element model was verified. Secondly, the power spectral density curves at typical measuring points in bogie area were obtained by processing and calculating the line test data, which was measured when the vehicle ran at high speeds, and the standard vibration spectrum of the bogie area was obtained by the extreme envelope method. Furthermore, the random vibration test and simulation prediction analysis of the real vehicle structure were carried out to further verify the accuracy of the noise and vibration prediction model. Finally, according to the vibration and acoustic radiation theory, the indirect boundary element method was adopted to predict the acoustic response of the real vehicle. The analysis shows that the simulated power spectral density curves of acceleration and sound pressure level are highly consistent with the experimental ones, and the error between the simulated prediction and the experimental result is within the allowable range of 3 dB.展开更多

文摘With the rapid development of high-speed railway tunnel construction mileage and technology, the construction of the tunnel face is a key part of tunnel construction in high-speed railway tunnel projects. As mechanization and intelligence levels continue to increase, supporting equipment mainly includes rock drilling trolleys, arch installation trolleys, wet spraying robots, anchor trolleys, etc. To address the issues of high construction costs and the need to replace equipment for different processes, this paper designs an economical and practical multi-functional integrated trolley for high-speed railway double-track tunnels based on engineering cases. This trolley can adapt to various tunnel face excavation methods such as the full-face method and the bench method, enabling integrated functions such as drilling and blasting holes, anchor holes, advance grouting holes, pipe roof construction, charging, anchor installation and grouting, and arch mesh installation. This reduces the number of operators, improves the working environment of high-speed railway tunnels, lowers construction costs, and enhances construction efficiency.

文摘The dynamic performance of high-speed trains is significantly influenced by sudden changes in aerodynamic loads(ADLs)when exiting a tunnel in a windy environment.Focusing on a double-track tunnel under construction in a mountain railway,we established an aerodynamic model involving a train exiting the tunnel, and verified it in the Fluent environment.Overset mesh technology was adopted to characterize the train’s movement. The flow field involving the train, tunnel, and crosswinds was simulated using the Reynolds-averaged turbulence model. Then,we built a comprehensive train-track coupled dynamic model considering the influences of ADLs,to investigate the vehicles’dynamic responses. The aerodynamics and dynamic behaviors of the train when affected by crosswinds with different velocities and directions are analyzed and discussed. The results show that the near-wall side crosswind leads to sharper variations in ADLs than the far-wall side crosswind. The leading vehicle suffers from more severe ADLs than other vehicles, which worsens the wheel-rail interaction and causes low-frequency vibration of the car body. When the crosswind velocity exceeds 20 m/s,significant wheel-rail impacts occur, and the running safety of the train worsens rapidly.

文摘The interaction between the airflow and train influences the aerodynamic characteristics and dynamic performance of high-speed trains. This study focused on the fluid-solid coupling effect of airflow and HST,and proposed a co-simulation(CS)approach between computational fluid dynamics and multi-body dynamics.Firstly, the aerodynamic model was developed by employing overset mesh technology and the finite volume method, and the detailed train-track coupled dynamic model was established. Then the User Data Protocol was adopted to build data communication channels. Moreover, the proposed CS method was validated by comparison with a reported field test result. Finally,a case study of the HST exiting a tunnel subjected to crosswind was conducted to compare differences between CS and offline simulation(OS)methods. In terms of the presented case, the changing trends of aerodynamic forces and car-body displacements calculated by the two methods were similar.Differences mainly lie in aerodynamic moments and transient wheel-rail impacts.Maximum pitching and yawing moments on the head vehicle in the two methods differ by 21.1 kN∙m and 29.6 kN∙m,respectively. And wheel-rail impacts caused by sudden changes in aerodynamic loads are significantly severer in CS.Wheel-rail safety indices obtained by CS are slightly greater than those by OS.This research proposes a CS method for aerodynamic characteristics and dynamic performance of the HST in complex scenarios, which has superiority in computational efficiency and stability.
文摘Purpose–This study aims to design and validate an emergency response method for high-speed railway earthquake early warning(EEW)systems based on the Propagation of Local Undamped Motion(PLUM)principle in order to enhance the timeliness and accuracy of warnings under seismic threats.Design/methodology/approach–A hierarchical architecture of the railway EEW system was adopted,in which self-built stations along the railway serve as the backbone and the national seismic network provides supplementary data.Warning zones were designed along the railway using overlapping trapezoidal layouts to cover seismic stations and reduce inter-regional time delays.Offline replay experiments were conducted using 82 historical earthquake events and records from 61 seismic stations to evaluate the timeliness and accuracy of warning information.Findings–The results indicate that the PLUM-based early warning method can issue emergency response information before destructive seismic waves arrive.Multiple earthquake experiments demonstrated high reliability and stability, with effective detection across different magnitudes and epicentral distances.Furthermore, the trapezoidal overlapping zone design improved regional consistency and significantly reduced missed alerts.Originality/value–This work represents the first systematic application of the PLUM method to high-speed railway EEW in China.By integrating railway operational requirements, the proposed method provides a practical and robust emergency response strategy, offering new insights into seismic risk mitigation for China’s high-speed railways.

文摘An investigation of the effect of simplifying bogie regions on the aerodynamic performance of a high-speed train was carried out by studying four train models,to explore possible ways to optimise the train underbody structure, improve the underbody aerodynamic performance, and reduce the aerodynamic drag. The shear stress transport(SST)k-ωturbulence model was used to study the airflow features of the high-speed train with different bogie regions at Re=2.25×10^(6).The calculated aerodynamic drag and surface pressure were compared with the experimental benchmark of wind tunnel tests. The results show that the SST k-ωmodel presents high accuracy in predicting the flow fields around the train, and the numerical results closely agree with the experimental data.Compared with the train with simplified bogies, the aerodynamic drag of the train with a smooth surface and the train with enclosed bogie cavities/inter-carriage gaps decreases by 38.2%and 30.3%,respectively,while it increases by 10.8%for the train with cavities but no bogies. Thus, enclosing bogie cavities shows a good capability of aerodynamic drag reduction for a new generation of highspeed trains.

文摘A numerical control (NC) tool path of digital CAD model is widely generated as a set of short line segments in machining. The proposed research provides an effective method for high-speed machining of complex 2-D/3-D profiles described by short line segments.

文摘The aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains passing through a tunnel has gradually become an important issue.Numerical approaches for predicting the aerodynamic noise sources of high-speed trains running in tunnels are the key to alleviating aerodynamic noise issues. In this paper, two typical numerical methods are used to calculate the aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains. These are the static method combined with non-reflective boundary conditions and the dynamic mesh method combined with adaptive mesh. The fluctuating pressure, flow field and aerodynamic noise source are numerically simulated using the abovemethods. The results showthat the fluctuating pressure, flow field structure and noise source characteristics obtained using different methods, are basically consistent.Compared to the dynamic mesh method, the pressure, vortex size and noise source radiation intensity, obtained by the static method, are larger. The differences are in the tail car and its wake. The two calculation methods show that the spectral characteristics of the surface noise source are consistent. The maximum difference in the sound pressure level is 1.9 dBA.The static method is more efficient and more suitable for engineering applications.

文摘A novel ε-type solenoid actuator is proposed to improve the dynamic response of electro-pneumatic ejector valves by reducing moving mass weight. The experimental results of the dynamics of valves agreed well with simulations, indicating the validity of the FEA model.

文摘The wheel-rail contact problems, such as the number, location and the track of contact patches, are very important for optimizing the spatial structure of the rails and lowering the vehicle-turnout system dynamics. The presented research is not only helpful to optimize the structure of the turnout, but also useful to lower the dynamics of the high speed vehicle-turnout system.

文摘Optimal trajectory planning of high-speed trains(HSTs)aims to obtain such speed curves that guarantee safety, punctuality, comfort and energy-saving of the train. In this paper,a new shrinking horizon model predictive control(MPC)algorithm is proposed to plan the optimal trajectories of HSTs using real-time traffic information. The nonlinear longitudinal dynamics of HSTs are used to predict the future behaviors of the train and describe variable slopes and variable speed limitations based on real-time traffic information. Then optimal trajectory planning of HSTs is formulated as the shrinking horizon optimal control problem with the consideration of safety, punctuality, comfort and energy consumption.According to the real-time position and running time of the train, the shrinking horizon is updated to ensure the recursive feasibility of the optimization problem. The optimal speed curve of the train is computed by online solving the optimization problem with the Radau Pseudo-spectral method(RPM).Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can satisfy the requirements of energy efficiency and punctuality of the train.

文摘Based on the experiments on a platform with real vehicle structure and finite element simulation, the vibration and interior acoustic radiation under random excitations of high-speed trains’ bogie area were studied. The analysis shows that the simulated power spectral density curves of acceleration and sound pressure level are highly consistent with the experimental ones, and the error between the simulated prediction and the experimental result is within the allowable range of 3 dB.
