The effect of a metal shell on the launch efficiency of an asynchronous coil launcher(coil AC pulse linear motor)remains insufficiently understood in terms of the underlying mechanisms and principles.To address this g...The effect of a metal shell on the launch efficiency of an asynchronous coil launcher(coil AC pulse linear motor)remains insufficiently understood in terms of the underlying mechanisms and principles.To address this gap,this study conducted extensive modelling simulations and calculations,varying the shell's conductivity,permeability,and dimensions.Through comparative analysis of these models,this paper identifies a unique‘tick-shaped efficiency curve’for the asynchronous coil launcher:the launch efficiency first decreases and then increases as the shell's electromagnetic parameters are enhanced.Enhancements that bolster the electromagnetic induction effect within the shell-such as increased conductivity,permeability and dimensions-are termed as the augmentation of electromagnetic parameters.This study delves into Lenz's law of electromagnetism to elucidate the observed phenomena,attributing them to the spatio-temporal force characteristics of the multipeak and multi-valley armature of the transmitting device,and the resulting‘tick-shaped efficiency curve’.A comprehensive summary of shell-related research in electromagnetic emission reveals that the driving current fundamentally dictates the shell's impact on launch efficiency.DC-driven launchers conform to the monotonic effect efficiency curve,whereas AC-driven launchers conform to the tick-shaped efficiency curve.展开更多
To predict the temperature of a motorized spindle more accurately,a novel temperature prediction model based on the back-propagation neural network optimized by adaptive particle swarm optimization(APSO-BPNN)is propos...To predict the temperature of a motorized spindle more accurately,a novel temperature prediction model based on the back-propagation neural network optimized by adaptive particle swarm optimization(APSO-BPNN)is proposed.First,on the basis of the PSO-BPNN algorithm,the adaptive inertia weight is introduced to make the weight change with the fitness of the particle,the adaptive learning factor is used to obtain different search abilities in the early and later stages of the algorithm,the mutation operator is incorporated to increase the diversity of the population and avoid premature convergence,and the APSO-BPNN model is constructed.Then,the temperature of different measurement points of the motorized spindle is forecasted by the BPNN,PSO-BPNN,and APSO-BPNN models.The experimental results demonstrate that the APSO-BPNN model has a significant advantage over the other two methods regarding prediction precision and robustness.The presented algorithm can provide a theoretical basis for intelligently controlling temperature and developing an early warning system for high-speed motorized spindles and machine tools.展开更多

However, systematization of the phenomenon still awaits. Therefore, it is worth summarizing the completeness of the phenomena in a single study – with a new approach at the same time-in order to reveal the relationships between them. The role of rotor slot number is emphasized much more than before. An existing, commonly used, but still impractical basic figure has been modified to more clearly demonstrate the response of the rotor for the harmonics of the stator. The need to treat differential leakage, asynchronous parasitic torques and attenuation together will be demonstrated: new formula for asynchronous parasitic torque is derived;the long-used characteristic curves for differential leakage and attenuation used separately so far was merged into one, correct curve in order to provide a correct design guide for the engineers.展开更多

The object of optimization design is a 15 kW、20000 r/min HSIPMM whose permanent magnets in rotor is segmented. Eight structural dimensions are selected as its optimization variables. After design of experiment(DOE), multiple surrogate models are fitted, a set of surrogate models with minimum error is selected by using error evaluation indexes to optimize, the NSGA-II algorithm is used to get the optimal solution. The optimal solution is verified by load test on a 15 kW, 20000 r/min HSIPMM prototype. This paper can be used as a reference for the optimization design of HSIPMM.展开更多
Hunting stability is an important performance criterion in railway vehicles.This study proposes an incorporation of a bio-inspired limb-like structure(LLS)-based nonlinear damping into the motor suspension system for ...Hunting stability is an important performance criterion in railway vehicles.This study proposes an incorporation of a bio-inspired limb-like structure(LLS)-based nonlinear damping into the motor suspension system for traction units to improve the nonlinear critical speed and hunting stability of high-speed trains(HSTs).Initially,a vibration transmission analysis is conducted on a HST vehicle and a metro vehicle that suffered from hunting motion to explore the effect of different motor suspension systems from on-track tests.Subsequently,a simplified lateral dynamics model of an HST bogie is established to investigate the influence of the motor suspension on the bogie hunting behavior.The bifurcation analysis is applied to optimize the motor suspension parameters for high critical speed.Then,the nonlinear damping of the bio-inspired LLS,which has a positive correlation with the relative displacement,can further improve the modal damping of hunting motion and nonlinear critical speed compared with the linear motor suspension system.Furthermore,a comprehensive numerical model of a high-speed train,considering all nonlinearities,is established to investigate the influence of different types of motor suspension.The simulation results are well consistent with the theoretical analysis.The benefits of employing nonlinear damping of the bio-inspired LLS into the motor suspension of HSTs to enhance bogie hunting stability are thoroughly validated.展开更多
To solve the problem of temperature rise caused by the high power density of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous traction motors,the temperature rise of various components in the motor is analyzed by coupling the ...To solve the problem of temperature rise caused by the high power density of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous traction motors,the temperature rise of various components in the motor is analyzed by coupling the equivalent thermal circuit method and computational fluid dynamics.Also,a cooling strategy is proposed to solve the problem of temperature rise,which is expected to prolong the service life of these devices.First,the theoretical bases of the approaches used to study heat transfer and fluid mechanics are discussed,then the fluid flow for the considered motor is analyzed,and the equivalent thermal circuit method is introduced for the calculation of the temperature rise.Finally,the stator,rotor loss,motor temperature rise,and the proposed cooling method are also explored through experiments.According to the results,the stator temperature at 50,000 r/min and 60,000 r/min at no-load operation is 68℃ and 76℃,respectively.By monitoring the temperature of the air outlets inside and outside the motor at different speeds,it is also found that the motor reaches a stable temperature rise after 65 min of operation.Coupling of the thermal circuit method and computational fluid dynamics is a strategy that can provide the average temperature rise of each component and can also comprehensively calculate the temperature of each local point.We conclude that a hybrid cooling strategy based on axial air cooling of the inner air duct of the motor and water cooling of the stator can meet the design requirements for the ventilation and cooling of this type of motors.展开更多

The mathematical model of the current-limiting transformer is deduced based on basic circuit theory. It can be found that a continuous variation reactance can describe the current-limiting transformer during starting process. The two variables functions of current and voltage are transformed into one-variable functions,and thus system control is greatly simplified. The voltage regulator is simulated on the basis. The simulation results show that this model has enough accuracy. Finally, the high-voltage asynchronous motor voltage regulator based on current-limiting transformer is designed and tested on this model.展开更多

The protection of motor has mainly developed in three stages: thermal relay, electronic integrated protector, and microcomputer protector. In terms of sampling methods, the protection can be divided into two types: (1) the sampling current detection, which is implemented using a thermal relay with circuit breaker for the thermomagnetic tripping motor protection, and an electronic and solid state relay with circuit breaker and sof~ starter for the thermomagnetic tripping motor protection; (2) the sampling temperature detection, which is to directly detect electromotor winding temperature using bimetallic strip temperature relay, thermal protector, detecting coil, and heat resistance temperature relay. However, the second method is very expensive and difficult to maintain because a motor winding is necessary to directly bury, so it is used only in the cases requiring some frequent operations. Finally, the harmonious cooperation between overload protection device and motor or between overload protection device and short circuit protection device must be considered regardless of the protection device model.展开更多

In this paper, a two-pole three-phase high-speed brushless PM (permanent magnet) motor with ratings air-gap length and stator slot number on the motor performance of 7.5 kW, 30,000 rpm is designed, and the effect of the different was analyzed. First, lumped-elements will be fine-tuned following numerical method results is reported steady-state and transient solutions. Besides, the equations of thermal modeling such as Re, N,,, G,. and Pr numbers in order to calculate heat-transfer coefficient of convection on the rotor and stator surfaces in the air-gap have calculated. This section illustrates the temperature distribution of each point in a clear view. By CFD (fluid dynamic analysis) analysis, the fluid dynamics were modeled, pressure and velocity streamlines of cooling-flow have analyzed. An optimization algorithm was derived in order to have optimized number of water-channels as well. Second, calculation of nodal and tangential forces which deal with mechanical stresses of the ARWM have represented. The paper discusses an accurate magnetic-field analysis that addresses equivalent stress distribution in the magnetic core through using the transient FEA to estimate motor characteristics. However, the systematization of the phenomenon is still pending, so we made an...The harmonics that appear in the squirrel cage asynchronous machine have been discussed in great detail in the literature for a long time. However, the systematization of the phenomenon is still pending, so we made an attempt to fill this gap in the previous parts of our study by elaborating formulas for calculation of parasitic torques. It was a general demand among those who work in this field towards the author to verify his formulas with measurements. In the literature, it seems,only one detailed, purposeful series of measurements has been published so far, the purpose of which was to investigate the effect of the number of rotor slots on the torque-speed characteristic curve of the machine. The main goal of this study is to verify the correctness of the formulas by comparing them with the referred series of measurements. Relying on this, the expected synchronous parasitic torques were developed for the frequently used rotor slot numbers-as a design guide for the engineer.Thus, together with our complete table for radial magnetic pull published in our previous work, the designer has all the principles, data and formulas available for the right number of rotor slots for his given machine and for the drive system. 文摘To solve the problem of temperature rise caused by the high power density of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous traction motors,the temperature rise of various components in the motor is analyzed by coupling the equivalent thermal circuit method and computational fluid dynamics.Also,a cooling strategy is proposed to solve the problem of temperature rise,which is expected to prolong the service life of these devices.First,the theoretical bases of the approaches used to study heat transfer and fluid mechanics are discussed,then the fluid flow for the considered motor is analyzed,and the equivalent thermal circuit method is introduced for the calculation of the temperature rise.Finally,the stator,rotor loss,motor temperature rise,and the proposed cooling method are also explored through experiments.According to the results,the stator temperature at 50,000 r/min and 60,000 r/min at no-load operation is 68℃ and 76℃,respectively.By monitoring the temperature of the air outlets inside and outside the motor at different speeds,it is also found that the motor reaches a stable temperature rise after 65 min of operation.Coupling of the thermal circuit method and computational fluid dynamics is a strategy that can provide the average temperature rise of each component and can also comprehensively calculate the temperature of each local point.We conclude that a hybrid cooling strategy based on axial air cooling of the inner air duct of the motor and water cooling of the stator can meet the design requirements for the ventilation and cooling of this type of motors.

文摘High-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSMs)have recently been widely applied in various applications.However,due to the increased rotor speed and operating frequency increase,the winding AC losses rise substantially,posing risks to the safety operation.Accurate modeling of the AC losses has therefore become critical at the motor initial design stage.This paper reviews the main modeling methods for AC copper losses in PMSMs,including analytical methods,finite element methods,and hybrid modeling methods.The advantages and disadvantages of each method are analyzed in detail,and key issues in the modeling process are discussed.Finally,future research directions in AC copper loss modeling are explored,providing new insights for motor design and performance optimization.

The motorized spindle is the core component of the machine toolsfor achieving the high speed and high precise machining, which affects the general developmentlevel of the machine tools to a great extent. Progress of the key techniques is reviewed in thispaper, in which the high speed and high precision spindle bearings, the dynamical and thermalcharacteristics of spindles, the design technique of the high frequency motors and the drivers, theanti-electromagnetic damage technique of the motors, and the machining and assembling technique areinvolved. Finally, tha development tendencies of the motorized spindles are presented.
文摘A general method of calculating the saturable leakage reactances of squirrelcage asynchronous motors is presented.The method synthesized the variety of effectswhich affect the saturation of leakage magnetic circuit.And the saturable reactances canbe precisely evaluated in any running condition.The computation results of Y-series mo-tors are in good agreement with the test ones.

文摘For starting high-voltage asynchronous motor,the voltage regulator based on current-limiting transformer is presented in the paper. Its mathematical model needs to be established analyzing and designing voltage regulator of high-voltage asynchronous motor. The mathematical model of the current-limiting transformer is deduced based on basic circuit theory. It can be found that a continuous variation reactance can describe the current-limiting transformer during starting process. The two variables functions of current and voltage are transformed into one-variable functions,and thus system control is greatly simplified. The voltage regulator is simulated on the basis. The simulation results show that this model has enough accuracy. Finally, the high-voltage asynchronous motor voltage regulator based on current-limiting transformer is designed and tested on this model.

文摘The heating calculation of three-phase squirrel- cage asynchronous motor on the condition of starting for a prescribed rotary angle is firstly studied with time dissection method and its corresponding algorithm is provided. Then based upon the algorithm, a new method for motor power selection is established. Motor initial power determined by load power ischecked and modified in terms of time crit erion, heating criterion,and starting torque criterion.An appropriate motor power which meets three criterions is obtained at last, in the meantime, working displacement matrix andfrequency matrix used for control are acquired. Lifting motor of MDJ1800 low-level high- speed palletizer is taken as a reaI case in the paper.

文摘Deduced the relationship between the power factor (PF) and the angular fre-quency according to the simplified equivalent circuit of asynchronous motor, forming a power factor auto-control system. An anti-interference circuit was also introduced in the middle voltage link of inverter to avoid the shift of the optimum PF point caused by the change of the load and the reliable run of the control system was assured. The experi-ment results show that it has a good self-adaptation in the whole scope of speed ad-justment and an obvious economization on energy while it runs under load.
文摘There are several problems existing in the direct starting of asynchronous motor such as large starting current,reactive power absorption from network side and weak interference-resistance,etc.Aiming at this,a comprehensive energy-saving optimization model of asynchronous motor for voltage regulation based on static synchronous compensator(STATCOM)is put forward.By analyzing the working principle and operation performance of static synchronous compensator regulating voltage,a new energy-efficient optimization method for asynchronous motor is proposed based on the voltage regulator model to achieve soft start,continuous dynamic reactive power compensation and the terminal voltage stability control.The multi-objective optimal operation of asynchronous motor is realized by controlling the inverter to adjust the reactive current dynamically.The strategy reduces the influence of starting current and grid voltage by soft starting,and realizes the function of reactive power compensation and terminal voltage stabilization.The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed model is verified by the simulation analysis and the results of comparison with the motor started directly.
文摘In this paper, the relationship between the protection and control of asynchronous motor and all sorts of protection devices for asynchronous motor are briefly expounded. The protection of motor has mainly developed in three stages: thermal relay, electronic integrated protector, and microcomputer protector. In terms of sampling methods, the protection can be divided into two types: (1) the sampling current detection, which is implemented using a thermal relay with circuit breaker for the thermomagnetic tripping motor protection, and an electronic and solid state relay with circuit breaker and sof~ starter for the thermomagnetic tripping motor protection; (2) the sampling temperature detection, which is to directly detect electromotor winding temperature using bimetallic strip temperature relay, thermal protector, detecting coil, and heat resistance temperature relay. However, the second method is very expensive and difficult to maintain because a motor winding is necessary to directly bury, so it is used only in the cases requiring some frequent operations. Finally, the harmonious cooperation between overload protection device and motor or between overload protection device and short circuit protection device must be considered regardless of the protection device model.
文摘This paper describes the key issues of high-speed brushless permanent magnet motor design, such as rotor design, stator design, and determination of the main dimensions, and the overall design process was given. In this paper, a two-pole three-phase high-speed brushless PM (permanent magnet) motor with ratings air-gap length and stator slot number on the motor performance of 7.5 kW, 30,000 rpm is designed, and the effect of the different was analyzed. The results show that larger number of stator slot decreases the rotor loss and the rotor torque ripple. Larger air-gap length decreases the rotor loss.

文摘A 3-D modeling of FEA (finite element analysis) design provides for high-speed synchronous with PMs (permanent magnets) applied in aerospace application will be examined under design considerations ofn = 12,000 rpm, short-duty operation, and etc. for an ARWM (aerospace retraction wheel motor). First, lumped-elements will be fine-tuned following numerical method results is reported steady-state and transient solutions. Besides, the equations of thermal modeling such as Re, N,,, G,. and Pr numbers in order to calculate heat-transfer coefficient of convection on the rotor and stator surfaces in the air-gap have calculated. This section illustrates the temperature distribution of each point in a clear view. By CFD (fluid dynamic analysis) analysis, the fluid dynamics were modeled, pressure and velocity streamlines of cooling-flow have analyzed. An optimization algorithm was derived in order to have optimized number of water-channels as well. Second, calculation of nodal and tangential forces which deal with mechanical stresses of the ARWM have represented. The paper discusses an accurate magnetic-field analysis that addresses equivalent stress distribution in the magnetic core through using the transient FEA to estimate motor characteristics. The whole model shear and normal mechanical stresses and total deformation oftbe ARWM has been investigated by transient FEA. The end-winding effects were included by the authors.

High-speed motor has the advantages of small size, direct connection with high-speed load, no need for traditional mechanical growth device, low system noise and high system transmission efficiency. High-speed permanent magnet motor has been widely used in the industrial field for its high power density, high starting torque and high efficiency. This paper summarizes the design technology of high-speed permanent magnet motor starting from the fixed rotor structure material and noise reduction.
文摘The harmonics that appear in the squirrel cage asynchronous machine have been discussed in great detail in the literature for a long time. However, the systematization of the phenomenon is still pending, so we made an attempt to fill this gap in the previous parts of our study by elaborating formulas for calculation of parasitic torques. It was a general demand among those who work in this field towards the author to verify his formulas with measurements. In the literature, it seems,only one detailed, purposeful series of measurements has been published so far, the purpose of which was to investigate the effect of the number of rotor slots on the torque-speed characteristic curve of the machine. The main goal of this study is to verify the correctness of the formulas by comparing them with the referred series of measurements. Relying on this, the expected synchronous parasitic torques were developed for the frequently used rotor slot numbers-as a design guide for the engineer.Thus, together with our complete table for radial magnetic pull published in our previous work, the designer has all the principles, data and formulas available for the right number of rotor slots for his given machine and for the drive system. This brings this series of papers to an end.
