However, how to address the problems posed by multiple variables, nonlinearities, and uncertainties during optimization remains a formidable challenge. In this study, a strategy combining interpretable machine learning with metaheuristic optimization algorithms is employed to optimize the reaction process. First, experimental data from a biodiesel production process are collected to establish a database. These data are then used to construct a predictive model based on artificial neural network (ANN) models. Subsequently, interpretable machine learning techniques are applied for quantitative analysis and verification of the model. Finally, four metaheuristic optimization algorithms are coupled with the ANN model to achieve the desired optimization. The research results show that the methanol: palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) molar ratio contributes the most to the reaction outcome, accounting for 41%. The ANN-simulated annealing (SA) hybrid method is more suitable for this optimization, and the optimal process parameters are a catalyst concentration of 3.00% (mass), a methanol: PFAD molar ratio of 8.67, and a reaction time of 30 min. This study provides deeper insights into reaction process optimization, which will facilitate future applications in various reaction optimization processes.展开更多

Even if from a theoretical point of view, there are infinite ways of interpreting them, in practice only Stratonovich’s and Itô’s interpretations and the kinetic form are important. Restricting the attention to the first two, they give rise to two different Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equations for the transition probability density function (PDF) of the solution. According to Stratonovich’s interpretation, there is one more term in the drift, which is not present in the physical equation, the so-called spurious drift. This term is not present in Itô’s interpretation so that the transition PDF’s of the two interpretations are different. Several examples are shown in which the two solutions are strongly different. Thus, caution is needed when a physical phenomenon is modelled by a SDE. However, the meaning of the spurious drift remains unclear.展开更多

But more than a century after Einstein first derived the relationship between mass-energy equivalence (or mass-energy equation), questions left for people are how to understand that mass and energy are somehow equivalent, and how to give the dynamical process for the conversion from mass to energy (or vice versa). This paper first interprets the formula of mass-energy equivalence published by Einstein in 1905, and then gives the equivalence relationship of mass-energy transition based on the dynamics of particle orthogonal collision. As a result, the orthogonal collision of two high-energy mass particles can generate a huge mass-energy density, equivalent to the total energy of N new particles, which is a one-way dynamic process that generates new mass-energy density and new matter. This conversion of mass into energy has nothing to do with special relativity.展开更多

This study looks at how professional interpreters handle linguistic uncertainty in English-Chinese sight translation, with a focus on the strategies they use. By analyzing transcription data alongside instructor evaluations, we found that interpreters relied most on creative interpretation and omission, while strategies like paraphrasing, simplification, transformation, addition, and generalization appeared less often. The results show a clear preference for strategies that keep communication flowing without adding unnecessary cognitive load. These findings support the Processing Economy Hypothesis, which suggests interpreters naturally seek efficient ways to process language while maintaining meaning. The study also highlights practical implications for interpreter training, emphasizing the value of flexible, economy-oriented strategies to help interpreters stay fluent under pressure.展开更多

In particu-lar, they formulate the most significant clastic accumulations in the deep sea, which become many of the world's most important hydrocarbon reservoirs. Several boreholes in the Qiongdongnan Basin, the north-western South China Sea, have recently revealed turbidity current deposits as significant hydrocarbon res-ervoirs. However, there are some arguments for the potential provenances. To solve this problem, it is es-sential to delineate their sedimentary processes as well as to evaluate their qualities as reservoir. Numerical simulations have been developed rapidly over the last several years, offering insights into turbidity current behaviors, as geologically significant turbidity currents are difficult to directly investigate due to their large scale and often destructive nature. Combined with the interpretation of the turbidity system based on high-resolution 3D seismic data, the paleotophography is acquired via a back-stripping seismic profile integrated with a borehole, i.e., Well A, in the western Qiongdongnan Basin; then a numerical model is built on the basis of this back-stripped profile. After defining the various turbidity current initial boundary conditions, includ-ing grain size, velocity and sediment concentration, the structures and behaviors of turbidity currents are investigated via numerical simulation software ANSYS FLUENT. Finally, the simulated turbidity deposits are compared with the interpreted sedimentary bodies based on 3D seismic data and the potential provenances of the revealed turbidites by Well A are discussed in details. The simulation results indicate that a sedimen-tary body develops far away from its source with an average grain size of 0.1 mm, i.e., sand-size sediment. Taking into account the location and orientation of the simulated seismic line, the consistence between normal forward simulation results and the revealed cores in Well A indicates that the turbidites should have been transported from Vietnam instead of Hainan Island. This interpretation has also been verified by the planar maps of sedimentary systems based on integration of boreholes and seismic data. The identification of the turbidity provenance will benefit the evaluation of extensively distributed submarine fans for hydro-carbon exploration in the deepwater areas.展开更多

Empowered by big data and machine learning techniques,next-generation data-driven communication systems will be intelligent with unique characteristics of expressiveness, scalability, interpretability, and uncertainty awareness, which can confidently involve diversified latent demands and personalized services in the foreseeable future. In this paper, we review a promising family of nonparametric Bayesian machine learning models,i.e., Gaussian processes(GPs), and their applications in wireless communication. Since GP models demonstrate outstanding expressive and interpretable learning ability with uncertainty, they are particularly suitable for wireless communication. Moreover, they provide a natural framework for collaborating data and empirical models(DEM). Specifically, we first envision three-level motivations of data-driven wireless communication using GP models. Then, we present the background of the GPs in terms of covariance structure and model inference. The expressiveness of the GP model using various interpretable kernels, including stationary, non-stationary, deep and multi-task kernels,is showcased. Furthermore, we review the distributed GP models with promising scalability, which is suitable for applications in wireless networks with a large number of distributed edge devices. Finally, we list representative solutions and promising techniques that adopt GP models in various wireless communication applications.展开更多

To build an ISM of a production system, the partial correlation coefficient method is proposed to obtain the adjacency matrix, which can be transformed to ISM. According to estimation of correlation coefficient, the result can give actual variable correlations and eliminate effects of intermediate variables. Furthermore, this paper proposes an effective approach using ISM to analyze the main factors and basic mechanisms that affect the energy consumption in an ethylene production system. The case study shows that the proposed energy consumption analysis method is valid and efficient in improvement of energy efficiency in ethylene production.展开更多

Finally, we list representative solutions and promising techniques that adopt GP models in various wireless communication applications.

文摘Interpretative structural model(ISM) can transform a multivariate problem into several sub-variable problems to analyze a complex industrial structure in a more efficient way by building a multi-level hierarchical structure model. The case study shows that the proposed energy consumption analysis method is valid and efficient in improvement of energy efficiency in ethylene production.
