Network virtualization(NV) is considered as an enabling tool to remove the gradual ossification of current Internet. In the network virtualization environment, a set of heterogeneous virtual networks(VNs), isolated from each other, share the underlying resources of one or multiple substrate networks(SNs) according to the resource allocation strategy. This kind of resource allocation strategy is commonly known as so called Virtual Network Embedding(VNE) algorithm in network virtualization. Owing to the common sense that VNE problem is NP-hard in nature, most of VNE algorithms proposed in the literature are heuristic. This paper surveys and analyzes a number of representative heuristic solutions in the literature. Apart from the analysis of representative heuristic solutions, a taxonomy of the heuristic solutions is also presented in the form of table. Future research directions of VNE, especially for the heuristics, are emphasized and highlighted at the end of this survey. 展开更多

The traffic equilibrium assignment problem under tradable credit scheme(TCS) in a bi-modal stochastic transportation network is investigated in this paper. To describe traveler’s risk-taking behaviors under uncertainty, the cumulative prospect theory(CPT) is adopted. Travelers are assumed to choose the paths with the minimum perceived generalized path costs, consisting of time prospect value(PV) and monetary cost. At equilibrium with a given TCS, the endogenous reference points and credit price remain constant, and are consistent with the equilibrium flow pattern and the corresponding travel time distributions of road sub-network. To describe such an equilibrium state, the CPT-based stochastic user equilibrium(SUE) conditions can be formulated under TCS. An equivalent variational inequality(VI) model embedding a parameterized fixed point(FP) model is then established, with its properties analyzed theoretically. A heuristic solution algorithm is developed to solve the model, which contains two-layer iterations. The outer iteration is a bisection-based contraction method to find the equilibrium credit price, and the inner iteration is essentially the method of successive averages(MSA) to determine the corresponding CPT-based SUE network flow pattern. Numerical experiments are provided to validate the model and algorithm. 展开更多

The multi-point dynamic aggregation(MPDA)problem is a challenging real-world problem. In the MPDA problem, the demands of tasks keep changing with their inherent incremental rates, while a heterogeneous robot fleet is required to travel between these tasks to change the time-varying state of each task. The robots are allowed to collaborate on the same task or work separately until all tasks are completed. It is challenging to generate an effective task execution plan due to the tight coupling between robots abilities and tasks'incremental rates, and the complexity of robot collaboration. For effectiveness consideration,we use the variable length encoding to avoid redundancy in the solution space. We creatively use the adaptive large neighborhood search(ALNS)framework to solve the MPDA problem. In the proposed algorithm,high-quality initial solutions are generated through multiple problem-specific solution construction heuristics. These heuristics are also used to fix the broken solution in the novel integrated decoding-construction repair process of the ALNS framework. The results of statistical analysis by the Wilcoxon rank-sum test demonstrate that the proposed ALNS can obtain better task execution plans than some state-of-the-art algorithms in most MPDA instances. 展开更多
