The heritage preservation is of great intractability to the conservators as each kind of heritage material has unique and diverse requirements on temperature, humidity and air cleanliness. It is promising for metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),the multifunctional environment remediation materials,to be applied in heritage environmental protection. The advantages of MOFs lie in their multifunction like adsorption, photocatalysis, sterilization,as well as the controllable structure and properties that could be flexibly adjusted as demands, helping the heritage against various environmental threats.Thereby, the applications and the corresponding mechanisms of MOFs in cultural heritage preservation were reviewed in this work, including harmful gas adsorption, surface waterproofing, particulate matters(PM)removal,anti-bacterial and humidity control of environment. Finally, the selection principles and precautions of MOFs in heritage preservation were discussed, aiming to provide a forward-looking direction for the selection and application of MOFs. 展开更多

Sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a comprehensive approach of conservation, education, and sustainable development in UNESCO Global Geoparks, which comprise a single, cohesive geographic area.A growing number of people are adopting the bottom-up strategy, which involves local communities and combines sustainable development with conservation. The viability of creating a UNESCO-recognized geopark in Kutch is assessed in this study. This study examines the key geoheritage features of the Kutch region, explores the socio-economic prospects of a geopark through geotourism and community development, and evaluates its conformity with UNESCO’s Global Geopark criteria on conservation, education, and sustainability. The study also evaluates the overall feasibility of the project, its economic, social, and environmental implications, and the adequacy of the requisite infrastructure..Its geological, cultural, and historical significance,as well as socioeconomic and environmental factors, are the parameters considered for investigation.Despite multiple applications to UNESCO,the Gujarat region of Kutch, which is rich in geological, cultural, and historical elements,is not recognised as a World Heritage Site.In actuality, there are 195 geoparks in 48 nations worldwide as of 2023,however India does not have one.The findings of the study provide critical insights that can direct initiatives to establish India’s first geopark and promote regional sustainability. 展开更多

With the simultaneous growth of cultural heritage activation and urban renewal needs, urban heritage parks are increasingly becoming important carriers for the integrated development of historical heritage protection and public space utilization. This article focuses on the construction of measurement dimensions of tourist experience value in urban heritage parks.Based on the theoretical frameworks of flow theory and experience value theory, combined with literature analysis and UGC text mining,it initially constructs an emotional, cultural, and functional three-dimensional index system.Through text analysis of 970 online reviews of Chongqing Kaifa Heritage Park, social value is identified as a potential new dimension.Subsequently, this article adopts exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis methods to verify the structural validity and reliability of the evaluation model with four dimensions and eighteen indicators, confirming that tourist experience value consists of four dimensions:emotional, cultural, functional, and social. The research not only fills the empirical research gap on social interaction value in cultural heritage tourism spaces, but also provides a quantifiable evaluation tool and evidence-based basis for the operation, management, and experience optimization of heritage parks, which has certain theoretical innovation significance and practical guidance value. 展开更多

Dry-wet cycle is a key factor in surface weathering of earthen heritage, which remains insufficiently explained. It involves the interaction of humidity, stress, and damage.Using the RFPA(realistic failure process analysis)numerical method, this study reproduced the processes of humidity diffusion, deformation, stress, and damage evolution under dry-wet cycles in the soil site of Suoyang City,China. The numerical results indicate that the drying phase following rainfall has the most significant deteriorative impact on the earthen heritage. The evaporation of surface moisture during this phase causes volume shrinkage, which in turn generates tensile stress and leads to the formation of numerous desiccation cracks.Desiccation cracks provide channels for moisture diffusion, which further exacerbates generation of the cracks, leading to a mutual promotion between the two phenomena.Furthermore, during the wetting phase, the model elements undergo hygroscopic expansion, resulting in a slight increase in strain and displacement.Previously formed cracks may exhibit temporary narrowing or closure, but will revert during the subsequent drying phase.Ultimately, the overall displacement increases with the number of dry-wet cycles. The findings provide a theoretical foundation for protection against surface weathering and other damage in earthen heritage in arid regions. 展开更多

With the increase of global climate change and extreme weather events, more and more attention has been paid to the protection of China's meteorological cultural heritage.Meteorological cultural heritage is an important part of China's cultural heritage, which is unique and non renewable. It is of great significance to the inheritance of China's excellent traditional culture and the construction of a meteorological power.Because it is more special than water conservancy cultural heritage in China's historical development,it is not only a national context, but also mixed with foreign activities. This paper focuses on the protection and research of China's meteorological cultural heritage.Based on the current situation of the protection and utilization of China's meteorological cultural heritage,it analyzes the problems and shortcomings in the current protection work.In response to these problems, some targeted protection measures are proposed, including strengthening the construction of laws and regulations, improving the level of protection technology, enhancing public participation, and promoting the protection and sustainable development of meteorological cultural heritage. The aim is to provide useful references for the protection of China's meteorological cultural heritage in the future. 展开更多
