Transition metal selenides are recognized as ideal substitutes for RuO_(2)and IrO_(2)toward the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Herein,a selenide hybrid consisting of Co_(3)Se_(4)and FeSe_(2)was prepared successfully by a facile one-step hydrothermal method using CoFe-layered double hydroxide nanosheets as the precursor.Electrochemical tests on the rotating disk electrode demonstrate that the hybrid possesses good performance for the OER during water splitting. 展开更多

The design and fabrication of crystalline photoswitchable materials play highly crucial roles for potential multidisciplinary applications.Good optimizations of the self-consistent donor–acceptor pair and skillful utilizations of weak intercomponent interactions are of great importance for redox photochromic coordination polymers(CPs).Herein,a novel redox chromic CP system with the photosensitive 2,6-di(1,6-naphthyridin-2-yl)pyridine(L)ligand has been developed for the first time,which contains a metallomacrocycle-based layer,a bent Z-shaped chain and a robust framework.Due to the photo-irradiated electron transfer,these CPs exhibit reversible color changes from yellow to green,colorless to blue and pale yellow to orange within an extremely short time.More interestingly,the photochromic framework can selectively and sensitively recognize volatile trolamine vapor through visible vapochromism resulting from quenching of the free radicals by the electron-enriched amino group.As compared with two low-dimensional CPs,the metal-assistant short contacts and intramolecularπ⋯πinteraction between benzenedicarboxylate and L is cooperatively responsible for the high-efficiency sensing.These findings present a new dual photochromic and vapochromic CP platform enabling visualized detection for electron-rich vapors. 展开更多

The direct urea fuel cell(DUFC)with high energy efficiency and convenience is expected to have promising practical applications in green energy development,but it is severely hindered by the slow kinetics of the intrinsic urea oxidation reaction(UOR).Herein,a built-in electric field(BEF)strategy to obtain efficient heterogeneous Ni_(2)P/NiSe_(2) electrocatalysts as bifunctional electrocatalysts for both the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and the UOR is reported.XPS,energy band structure analysis and DFT calculations verify that the BEF in the heterojunction can induce electron transfer between Ni_(2)P and NiSe_(2).More importantly,the BEF-induced interfacial charge distributions endow the Ni_(2)P/NiSe_(2) heterogeneous electrocatalysts with optimized binding free energy of the H*and urea intermediates,thereby resulting in an intrinsic enhancement of the catalytic activity.Our work may explore a pathway to design efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts by precisely constructing and manipulating an interfacial BEF. 展开更多
