The rapid-cycling synchrotron(RCS)is a crucial device for proton beam acceleration at the China Spallation Neutron Source, operating at a repetition frequency of 25 Hz.The beam power was increased from 100 kW to 140 kW.This increase makes the on-orbit beam more sensitive to disturbances in various parts of the accelerator, including the RCS magnet power supply system. This paper presents a method for reducing the high-order harmonic current error in resonant power supplies for dipole magnets and examines its impact on the horizontal orbit offset of the beam.It adopts a control scheme that combines high-order harmonic current compensation with PI double-loop control of the resonant power supply.By utilizing the existing digital controller hardware in the RCS power supply system, this study demonstrates how to achieve precise control of the 50 Hz harmonic current output in a cost-effective manner.Ultimately,it enhances performance by reducing the current error by up to 50%and provides methodological support for future upgrades to the power supply system.Such improvements enhance the stability of the RCS,reducing the beam horizontal orbit deviation by at least 19.8%. 展开更多

Particles have properties that uniquely characterize them from one another, such as mass, charge and spin. Charged particles have associated Electric and Magnetic fields. Also, every moving particle has a De Broglie wavelength determined by its mass and velocity. This paper shows that all of these properties of a particle can be derived from a single wave function equation for that particle. Wave functions for the Electron and the Positron are presented and principles are provided that can be used to calculate the wave functions of all the fundamental particles in Physics. Fundamental particles such as electrons and positrons are considered to be point particles in the Standard Model of Physics and are not considered to have a structure. This paper demonstrates that they do indeed have structure and that this structure extends into the space around the particle’s center (in fact, they have infinite extent), but with rapidly diminishing energy density with the distance from that center. The particles are formed from Electromagnetic standing waves, which are stable solutions to the Schrödinger and Classical wave equations. This stable structure therefore accounts for both the wave and particle nature of these particles. In fact, all of their properties such as mass, spin and electric charge, can be accounted for from this structure. These particle properties appear to originate from a single point at the center of the wave function structure, in the same sort of way that the Shell theorem of gravity causes the gravity of a body to appear to all originate from a central point. This paper represents the first two fully characterized fundamental particles, with a complete description of their structure and properties, built up from the underlying Electromagnetic waves that comprise these and all fundamental particles. 展开更多

Due to the operation of power semiconductor switching converters, the content of harmonic currents, which these switching converters take from the feed array, is still increasing. One of the possible ways of minimizing these currents is the use of pulse switching converters. On one hand, the original, characteristic harmonic ones are minimized, but, on the other hand, new frequencies caused by the modulation frequency appear in the current spectrum. The level of the currents of these frequencies is small and is scarcely dependent on the load of the converter. It may happen that the proportional value of the monitored harmonic one is high, although the absolute value is low. In the article presented, there is a description of the activity of the pulse voltage rectifier and an analysis of the current taken. The other part contains the results of the harmonic analysis of the stated current, including both the absolute and proportional values according to the load. In the conclusion, there are results of measurements of pulsed switching converters taken from the real measurement. 展开更多

This paper proposes a novel control approach for fault-tolerant control of dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) under one-phase open-circuit fault.A modified six-phase static coordinate transformation matrix and an extended rotating coordinate transformation matrix are investigated considering the influence of the fifth harmonic space on fault-tolerant control. These mathematical models are further analyzed in the fundamental space and the fifth harmonic space after the fault and to eliminate the coupling between the d-q axis voltage equation in the fundamental wave space and the d-q axis voltage equation in the fifth harmonic space, a secondary rotation coordinate transformation matrix is proposed. To achieve the purpose of reducing torque ripple, the fault-tolerant control method proposed in this paper not only takes the minimum copper loss as the constraint condition, but also injects the fifth harmonic current. The experimental result of current and torque is used to verify the accuracy of fault-tolerant control. 展开更多

Filling high-aspect-ratio trenches with gold is a frequent requirement in the fabrication of X-ray optics as well as micro-electronic components and other fabrication processes. Conformal electrodeposition of gold in sub-micron-width silicon trenches with an aspect ratio greater than 35 over a grating area of several square centimeters is challenging and has not been described in the literature previously. A comparison of pulsed plating and constant current plating led to a gold electroplating protocol that reliably filled trenches for such structures. 展开更多

The ip-iq detection method based on instantaneous inactive power theory has been applied widely in active power filter because of its good real-time. But it needs large computation, and three-phase currents are processed as integrity, thus calculation accuracy can't be ensured. Based on adaptive interference canceling theory, this paper presents a new ad- aptive detection method for harmonic current, it is a continuously regulated closed-loop system, and its operating characteristics are almost independent of the parameter variations of the elements, thus it performs better than that based on traditional theory. At last this paper provides the simulation of active power filter including the detecting cir-cuit which proved the design is feasible and correct. 展开更多

This paper presents a powerful application of genetic algorithm (GA) for the minimization of the total harmonic current distortion (THCD) in high-power induction motors fed by voltage source inverters, based on an approximate harmonic model. That is, having defined a desired fundamental output voltage, optimal pulse patterns (switching angles) are determined to produce the fundamental output voltage while minimizing the THCD. The complete results for the two cases of three and five switching instants in the first quarter period of pulse width modulation (PWM) waveform are presented. Presence of harmonics in the stator excitation leads to a pulsing-torque component. Considering the fact that if the pulsing-torques are at low frequencies, they can cause troublesome speed fluctuations, shaft fatigue, and unsatisfactory performance in the feedback control system, the 5th, 7th, 1 lth, and 13th current harmonics (in the case of five switching angles) are constrained at some pre-specified values, to mitigate the detrimental effects of low-frequency harmonics. At the same time, the THCD is optimized while the required fundamental output voltage is maintained. 展开更多

The spoke-type permanent magnet motor with auxiliary stator exhibits high torque performance owing to the flux focus effects. To further improve its torque density, this paper proposes a control method by using harmonic current strategy.Based on the theoretical analysis,a 3-D torque look-up table by dq-axis current and electrical angle is established with the aid of the finite element method(FEM).The maximum torque per ampere curve at each rotor position is identified and summarized to adequately indicate the relationship between torque and current amplitude of the motor.Through theoretical derivation,it is concluded that the minimum torque cost curve is the contour line of?Te/?i2,which can be employed to identify the harmonic current for torque density improvement.Compared to traditional strategies, the proposed control strategy can increase torque density of forward and reverse torque by 1.22%and 1.40%,respectively.The experimental results verify the analysis and simulation results,as well as prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. 展开更多

Multiply-connected Hall plates show different phenomena than singly connected Hall plates. In part I (published in Journal of Applied Physics and Mathematics), we discussed topologies where a stream function can be defined, with special reference to Hall/Anti-Hall bar configurations. In part II, we focus on topologies where no conventional stream function can be defined, like Corbino disks. If current is injected and extracted at different boundaries of a multiply-connected conductive region, the current density shows spiral streamlines at strong magnetic field. Spiral streamlines also appear in simply-connected Hall plates when current contacts are located in their interior instead of their boundary, particularly if the contacts are very small. Spiral streamlines and circulating current are studied for two complementary planar device geometries: either all boundaries are conducting or all boundaries are insulating. The latter case means point current contacts and it can be treated similarly to singly connected Hall plates with peripheral contacts through the definition of a so-called loop stream function. This function also establishes a relation between Hall plates with complementary boundary conditions. The theory is explained by examples. 展开更多

Closed-form and asymptotic solutions are derived for the steady, fully-developed hydromagnetic free and forced convection flow in a rotating horizontal parallel-plate channel under the action of an inclined magnetic field and constant pressure gradient along the longitudinal axis of the channel. The magnetic field is strong enough to generate Hall current effects and the magnetic Reynolds number of sufficient magnitude that induced magnetic field effects are also present. Secondary flow is present owing to the Hall current effect. The channel plates are also taken to be electrically-conducting. The conservation equations are formulated in an (x, y, z) coordinate system and non-dimensionalized using appropriate transformations. The resulting non-dimensional coupled ordinary differential equations for primary and secondary velocity components and primary and secondary induced magnetic field components and transformed boundary conditions are shown to be controlled by the dimensionless pressure gradient parameter (px), Hartmann number (M2), Grashof number (G), Hall current parameter (m), rotational parameter (K2), magnetic field inclination (&#920), and the electrical conductance ratios of the upper (&#9201) and lower (&#9202) plates. Solutions are derived using the method of complex variables. Asymptotic solutions are also presented for very high rotation parameter and Hartmann number of order equal to unity, for which Ekman-Hartmann boundary layers are identified at the plates. A parametric study of the evolution of velocity and induced magnetic field distributions is undertaken. It is shown that generally increasing Hall current effect (m) serves to accentuate the secondary (cross) flow but oppose the primary flow. An increase in rotational parameter (K2) is also found to counteract primary flow intensity. An elevation in the Grashof number i.e. free convection parameter (G) is shown to aid the secondary induced magnetic field component (Hz);however there is a decrease in magnitudes of the primary induced magnetic field component (Hx) with increasing Grashof number. Increasing inclination of the applied magnetic field (&#920, is also found to oppose the primary flow (u1) but conversely to strongly assist the secondary flow (w1). Both critical primary (Gcx) and secondary (Gcz)Grashof numbers are shown to be reduced with increasing inclination of the magnetic field (&#920), increasing Hall parameter (m) and rotational parameter (K2). Applications of the study arise in rotating MHD induction power generators and also astrophysical flows. 展开更多

A novel dual output phase-shift distribution transformer ( DOPSDT ) is proposed based on the electromagnetic filtering theory. First, its structural characteristics, winding connection mode and turn number ratio for special phase shifting are investigated. Secondly, the balance formulation of harmonic magneto-motive forces is derived and the electromagnetic filtering principle of the DOPSDT is introduced. The harmonic mitigating performance under different nonlinear load conditions are also analyzed using the field-circuit coupled method, The analysis results show that the DOPSDT can mitigate the primary current distortion even under severe nonlinear load conditions. By applying the zero sequence flux cancellation and phase-shift techniques at their secondary windings, the DOPSDT can significantly reduce the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 15th, 17th and 19th harmonics within its secondary windings. 展开更多

The temperature effects on the electrical performance of a large area multicrystalline silicon solar cell with back-contact technology have been studied in a desert area under ambient conditions using the current shunt measuring technique. Therefore, most of the problems encountered with traditional measuring techniques are avoided. The temperature dependency of the current shunt from 5oC up to 50oC has been investigated. Its temperature coefficient proves to be negligible which means that the temperature dependency of the solar cell is completely independent of the current shunt. The solar module installed in a tilted position at the optimum angle of the location, has been tested in two different seasons (winter and summer). The obtained solar cell short circuit current, open circuit voltage and output power are correlated with the measured incident radiation in both seasons and all results are discussed. 展开更多

Due to the components at twice the fundamental frequency of output voltage in the instantaneous output power of a two-stage single-phase inverter(TSI),the second harmonic current(SHC)is generated in the frontend dc-dc converter(FDC).To reduce the SHC,optimizing the control strategy of the FDC is an effective and costless approach.Fromthe view of visual impedance, this paper conducts an intensive study on the SHC reduction strategies.Origin of the SHC is illustrated first. Then, the equivalent circuit models of the FDC under different control strategies are proposed to analyse the SHC propagation characteristic. The derived model can offer a better insight into how the inductor SHC is affected by the control parameters.According to the derived models,a synthesis of different control strategies is presented and the relevant parameters are listed for control design to achieve better suppression effect. The benefits and limitations of these control strategies are also discussed.Based on the proposed equivalent circuit models, several optimization methods are proposed to enhance the effect.A 1500 VA TSI prototype is built and simulated on MATLAB/Simulink,verifying the effectiveness of the proposed optimization methods. This paper is aimed to provide a guideline for the control design and control optimization of the TSIs. 展开更多
