With the consideration of control system, the dynamic interaction model has been developed. Numerical simulation has been performed to study dynamic characteristics of the guideway. The results show that bending rigidity, vehicle speed, span ratio and primary frequency all have important influences on the dynamic characteristics of the guideway and there is no distinct trend towards resonance vibration when fl/(v/l) equals 1.0. The definite way is to control impact coefficient and acceleration of the guideway. The conclusions can serve the design of high-speed maglev three-span continuous guideway. 展开更多

A compact multi-throttle aerostatic guideway is the preferred structure for high precision and acceleration motion in the variable-slit system(VS)of photolithography.The presence of microstructure,such as recesses and grooves,on the guideway working surface has been found to improve the loading performance.Nevertheless,the effects on the guideway performance of changing the microstructure on the micron level are not yet clear.The mesh adaptation method,which was proposed by the authors,is employed in this paper to quantitatively study the influences of four microstructure parameters.The effect of tuning these parameters on the loading performance is revealed.The level of impact determines the proposed design process of the parameters.The characteristic feature of the proposed design process is that the working points of carrying capacity,stiffness,and rotational stiffness are unified under twoway adjusting by means of recess parameters.According to the proposed design process and tuning method,the restriction of supply pressure is lifted to a certain extent and the mutual tradeoff among the loading performances is relieved.The experimental results show that the rotational stiffness of the designed guideway,based on the tuned parameters,reached 2.14×10^(4) Nmrad1 and increased by 69.8%.In a scanning test of the applied VS on argon fluoride laser(ArF)photolithography,the average scanning acceleration reached 67.5 m·s^(-2),meeting the design specification. 展开更多

Hydrostatic guideways have various applications in precision machine tools due to their high motion accuracy. The analysis of motion straightness in hydrostatic guideways is generally ignoring the external load on the slider. A variation force also exists, caused by the different working positions, together with the dead load of the slider and that of other auxiliary devices. The effect of working position on vertical motion straightness is investigated based on the equivalent static model, considering the error averaging effort of pressured oil film in open hydrostatic guideways. Open hydrostatic guideways in LGF1000 are analyzed with this approach. The theoretical results show that the slider has maximum vertical motion straightness when the working position is closer the guiderail of Y axis. The vertical motion straightness reaches a minimum value as the working position is located at the center of the two guiderails on the Y axis. The difference between the maximum and minimum vertical motion straightness is 34.7%. The smaller vertical motion straightness is attributed to the smaller spacing of the two pads centers, along the Y direction. The experimental results show that the vertical motion straightness is 4.15 μm/1200 mm, when the working position is located in the middle of the Xbeam, and 5.08 pro/1200 mm, when the working position is approaching the Y guiderails, denoting an increase of 18.3%. The changing trends of the measured results validate the correctness of the theoretical model. The research work can be used to reveal the variation law of accuracy of the open hydrostatic guideways, under different working positions, to predict the machining precision, and provides the basis for an error compensation strategy for gantry type grinding machines. 展开更多

The results show that vehicle speed, span length and primary frequency of the guideway have an important influence on the dynamic responses of the guideway and there is no distinct trend towards resonance vibration when fl equals 1.0. The structure of a high-speed maglev guideway is taken as the research object.With the aim of identifying the inconsistency of modal parameters between the simulation model and the actual model,and based on the 600 km/h high-speed maglev vehicle and the high-speed maglev test line,the arrangement of sensors and the vibration acceleration data collection of the 12.384 m concrete guideway were conducted.The modal parameters were identified from the guideway response signal using wavelet transform,after which the wavelet ridge was extracted by using the maximum slope method.Next,the vibration modes and frequency parameters of the interaction vibration characteristics of the high-speed maglev guideway and 600 km/h maglev vehicle were analyzed.The updating objective function for the finite element model of the guideway was established,and the initial guideway finite element model was modified and updated by repeatedly iterating the parameters.In doing so,the model structure of the high-speed maglev guideway was obtained,which is consistent with the actual structure.The accuracy of the updated guideway model in the calculation of the dynamic response was verified by combining this with the vehicle-guideway coupling dynamic model of the high-speed maglev system with 18 degrees of freedom.The research results reveal that the model update method based on the wavelet transform and the maximum slope method has the characteristics of high accuracy and fast recognition speed.This can effectively obtain an accurate guideway model that ensures the correctness of the vehicle-guideway coupling dynamic analysis and calculation while meeting the parameters of the measured structure model.This method is also suitable for updating other structural models of high-speed maglev systems. 展开更多

Aiming at the approximate error of commonly used methods on calculation of hydrostatic pressures of closed hydrostatic guideways with multiple pockets, a more accurate solution is proposed. Taking design of beam & slide-rest guideways for a heavy duty CNC vertical turning mill as an example, under an assumption that stiffnesses of guideways and their jointing structure are sufficiently large, the pressures of the pockets can be attained by adding a co-planarity equation that constrains pocket centers. Then, an optimization model is built to minimize the highest pocket pressure under additional constraints that are posed on the highest seal margin pressure, the highest levitating pressure of the pockets, and the maximum deformation of the guideways. The optimization problem is solved sequentially by using the methods of design of experiments and adaptive simulated annealing on iSIGHT software platform. The results show significant improvements to the original design. Optimized maximum hydrostatic pressure meets the requirement of hydraulic system. 展开更多

The application of the linear guideways is very extensive, such as automation equipment, heavy-duty carry equipment, heavy-cut machining tool, CNC grinding machine, large-scale planning machine and machining center with the demand of high rigidity and heavy load. By means of the study of contact behavior between the roller/guideway and roller/slider, roller type linear guideways can improve the machining accuracy. The goal of this paper is to construct the fatigue life model of the linear guideway, with the help of the contact mechanics of rollers. In beginning, the analyses of the rigidity of a single roller compressed between guideway and slider was conducted. Then, the normal contact pressure of linear guideways was obtained by using the superposition method, and verified by the FEM software (ANSYS workbench). Finally, the bearing life theory proposed by Lundberg and Palmgren was used to describe the contact fatigue life. 展开更多

Superconducting magnetic levitation performance, including levitation force and guidance force, is important for the application of high-temperature super- conducting maglev. Both of them are not only affected by different arrays of superconductors and magnets, but also by the thickness of the iron shim between permanent magnets. In order to obtain the best levitation performance, the magnetic field distribution, levitation force, and guidance force of a new type of three magnetic hills of permanent magnet guideway with iron shim of different thicknesses (4, 6, and 8 mm) are discussed in this paper. Simulation analysis and experiment results show that the guideway with iron shim of 8 mm thickness possesses the strongest magnetic field and levitation performance when the suspension gap is larger than 10 mm. However, with the decreasing of suspension gap, the guideway with iron shim of 4 mm thickness possesses the best levitation performance. The phenomena can be attributed to the density distribution of flux and magnetization of iron shim. 展开更多

The high-speed maglev vehicle/guideway coupled model is an essential simulation tool for investigating vehicle dynamics and mitigating coupled vibration.To improve its accuracy efficiently,this study investigated a hierarchical model updating method integrated with field measurements.First,a high-speed maglev vehicle/guideway coupled model,taking into account the real effect of guideway material properties and elastic restraint of bearings,was developed by integrating the finite element method,multi-body dynamics,and electromagnetic levitation control.Subsequently,simultaneous in-site measurements of the vehicle/guideway were conducted on a high-speed maglev test line to analyze the system response and structural modal parameters.During the hierarchical updating,an Elman neural network with the optimal Latin hypercube sampling method was used to substitute the FE guideway model,thus improving the computational efficiency.The multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm with the gray relational projection method was applied to hierarchically update the parameters of the guideway layer and magnetic force layer based on the measured modal parameters and the electromagnet vibration,respectively.Finally,the updated coupled model was compared with the field measurements,and the results demonstrated the model’s accuracy in simulating the actual dynamic response,validating the effectiveness of the updating method. 展开更多

Numerical and experimental stu... Linear rolling guideways(LRGs) play an important role in precision engineering. In the pre-rolling region, the hysteretic friction force exerts great impacts on the positioning accuracy. Numerical and experimental studies of the hysteresis of friction force are presented in this paper. A model, which is based on the stripe theory and the simplified theory of rolling contact, is built to describe the transient hysteresis of the friction force. Then, the model is modified by taking the anelasticity effect into consideration. Experimentally, a linear motor direct-drive setup is utilized to measure the transient asymmetrical hysteresis of the friction force in the pre-rolling region of an LRG. The influences of the pre-rolling displacement and the dwelling time on the asymmetrical hysteresis of the friction force are studied. The numerical and experimental results are well correlated, which shows good accuracy of the model. The transient asymmetrical hysteresis of friction force in the pre-rolling region of LRGs can thus be determined using the model. 展开更多

By studying the e ects of geometric precision on kinematic accuracy, an error mapping model has been established, based on the hypothesis that a motion pair and its installation surface are rigid. However, when using this assumption,there is a significant error induced in high-precision computer numerical control(CNC) machine tools as compared with reality. One of the most important reasons for this error is failing to consider the error averaging e ect of motion pair elements. Therefore, this work examines a high-precision horizontal machining center as its research object, and analyzes the error averaging mechanism of a rolling guide pair under a deformation of the rolling elements. The carriage bearing forces caused by guideway straightness errors are obtained by constructing a geometric error model of a single carriage. The relationship between guideway straightness errors and carriage bearing forces is described by a transfer function in the spatial frequency domain, and its characteristics are analyzed. It quantifies the so-called error averaging e ect of the rolling guide system and, on this basis, a static model for four carriages is established to reflect the error averaging e ect of the rolling guide pair on the position and orientation errors of the motion pair. In addition, it is found that the wavelengths and phase di erences of guideway errors a ect this error averaging mechanism, but the amplitude and preload have little influence thereon. The experiment result shows that the kinematic straightness errors in the x-and y-directions were approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the guideway straightness errors in the corresponding directions. The results can be used to guide the precision design and assembly of machine tools. 展开更多

The super-high speed high temperature superconductor (HTS) maglev evacuated tube transport (ETT) is a promising transport mode for the future. As a key component of the HTS maglev vehicle, the permanent magnet guide- ways (PMGs) with different geometrical configurations and iron yoke widths are analyzed by finite element method (FEM). The levitation force of a single onboard HTS maglev device over the designed PMG at different field cooling heights (FCH) is measured by magnetic levitation measurement system. Based on the designed PMG and experimental results, a preliminary scheme of subterranean super-high speed HTS maglev ETT is described in this paper. The HTS maglev ETT is mainly composed of an evacuated tube, HTS maglev vehicle, PMG, propulsion system, station, emergency rescue system, etc. In addition, a subterranean tube that consists of foundation tube and vacuum airproof layer is introduced. In order to convert the stress caused by the air pressure difference between inside and outside of the vehicle, a multi-circular vehicle body is designed. The vehicle is driven by a linear motor propulsion system under the control of a ground controlling system. The scheme of long-distance super-high speed passenger transportation is accomplished by the connection of different vehicles. 展开更多

According to the similarity in dynamics,the single magnet-guideway coupling system was simplifiedinto a magnet-suspended track system, and the correspondinghardware-in-loop test rig was set up usingdSPACE. A full-state-feedback controller was developedusing the levitation gap signal and the current signal, andcontroller parameters were optimized by particle swarmalgorithm. The results from the simulation and the test rigshow that, the proposed control method can keep the systemstable by calculating the controller output with the fullstateinformation of the coupling system, Step responsesfrom the test rig show that the controller can stabilize thesystem within 0.15 s with a 2 % overshot, and performswell even in the condition of violent external disturbances.Unlike the linear quadratic optimal method, the particleswarm algorithm carries out the optimization with thenonlinear controlled object included, and its optimizedresults make the system responses much better. 展开更多

The influence of the width of the middle magnet in the permanent magnet guideways (PMGs) on the levitation force and the levitation height of single-domain yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) bulks has been investigated at 77 K under the zero field cooled (ZFC) state. It is found that the largest levitation force can be obtained in the system with the width of the middle magnet of the PMG equal to the size of the YBCO bulk when the gap between the YBCO bulk and PMG is small. Both larger levitation force and higher levitation height can be obtained in the system with the width of the middle magnet of the PMG larger than the size of the YBCO bulk. The stiffness of the levitation force between the PMG and the YBCO bulk is higher in the system with a smaller width of the middle magnet in the PMG. These results provide an effective way to control the levitation force and the levitation height for the superconducting maglev design and applications. 展开更多

Nowadays,inertial confinement fusion(ICF)research related to noncontact positioning and transport of free-standing cryogenic targets is playing an increasingly important role in this field.The operational principle behind these technologies is the magnetic acceleration of the levitating target carrier(or sabot)made from Type-Ⅱ,high-temperature superconductors(HTSCs).The physics of interaction among levitation,guidance and propulsion systems is based on a quantum levitation of high-pinning HTSCs in the mutually normal magnetic fields.This paper discusses current target delivery strategies and future perspectives to create different permanent magnet guideway(PMG)systems for ICF target transport with levitation.In particular,several PMG building options for optimizing both suspension and levitation of ICF targets using an HTSC-sabot will be analyzed.Credible solutions have been demonstrated for both linear and round PMGs,including the ones with a cyclotron acceleration process to realize high-running velocities of the HTSCsabot for a limited magnetic track.Focusing on physics,we describe in detail the main aspects of the PMG building and the results obtained from computations and proof of principle experiments.High-pinning HTSC magnetic levitation promises a stable and self-controlled levitation to accelerate the ICF targets placed in the HTSC-sabots up to the required injection velocities of 200 m/s and beyond. 展开更多
