Influence of Occupational Noise Exposure on Cognitive Ability of Grinders

Purpose: To investigate whether long-term noise exposure affects the cognitive ability of grinders. Methods: Cumulative noise exposure (CNE) and LAeq.8h determination were used to characterize the level of individual noise exposure;the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test (Beijing version) was used to evaluate cognitive function. Results: We compared the basic situation of workers in different groups and individual noise exposure intensity of grinders was monitored. Multiple linear-regression analysis was made and score of MoCA in different group was finally drawn. Conclusion: CNE and total score of MoCA have the relationship of negative correlation (r = -0.303, p < 0.05) which means long-term occupational noise exposure can affect the cognitive ability of grinders. 展开更多

Comparisons of STRETCH meat grinders based on two different topologies of ICCOS

Inductive energy storage systems (IES)require opening switches which are technically much more difficult to realize than closing switches. Institute of Advanced Technology ( IAT ) puts forward a meat grinder with an inductive pulse power topology called slow transfer of energy through capacitive hybrid (STRETCH). In this topology, an integrated gate-commutated thyristor (IGCT) is capable of breaking the charging currents on the order of 4 kA, and it may encounter difficulties in expanding to higher energy systems. German-French Institute of Saint Louis (ISL) has developed a high-power opening switch based on standard high-power thyristors by using their so-called inverse current commutation with semiconductor devices (ICCOS) countercurrent commutation principle. Two topologies of the STRETCH meat grinder with ICCOS are analyzed. And they are compared based on the voltage across the main switch, the current multiplication factor and other aspects by u- sing Matlab simulations. The advantages and disadvantages of the two topologies are shown through the comparisons. Therefore a more suitable topology can be chosen for realistic applications accord- ing to their performances. 展开更多

A total of 393 potholes(368 fluvial and 25 marine potholes)were studied at seven different sites in both the fluvial and marine environments.Diverse bedrock properties and large-scale delivery of tools and grinders regulate the dynamic growth,truncation,and amalgamation of potholes.Therefore,the principal objectives of the study are(i)to examine the relationship between the growth of potholes and substrate lithological with structural characteristics(applying geospatial and Schmidt hammer for rock strength analysis)and(ii)to measure the morphology,and size of tools and grinders,processes of truncation and amalgamation in hydro-geomorphic environment using various indices and field techniques.The result showed that large potholes are stretched in the direction of lineament axes and roughly parallel to the river flow direction.Here,the steady growth of pothole depth-diameter is controlled by active bedrock structures,tools,or grinders,and monsoonal high-velocity bank full discharge.Consequently,the deepening and widening of potholes are relatively slow at Bindu,Deuli,and marine beach Neil Island due to fewer structures and little supply of tools or grinders.In small stretches,(Damodar,Subarnarekha,and Rarhu)canyons and gorge-like features(bedrock incision)are formed at Rajrappa,Bhakuyadi,and Guridih sites due to cyclic truncation and amalgamation.Truncation and amalgamation processes restrict the vertical depth threshold value of potholes within 3m,particularly at Rajrappa,Bhakuyadi,and Guridih sites.Scientific study of the pothole's dynamic growth is greatly necessary for the different environmental engineering and river hydraulic projects like excavation,dredging,and dam or barrage construction.Successively,it is essential to compute the cost of rock excavation or dredging,primarily for the mechanical strength of the bedrock river channel and its stability. 展开更多

The present work emphasizes the isolation of cellulose nanofiber(CNF)from the kenaf(Hibiscus cannabinus)bast through a chemo-mechanical process.In order to develop high CNF yield with superior properties of CNF for improving compatibility in varied applications this method is proposed.The fiber purification involved pulping and bleaching treatments,whereas mechanical treatment was performed by grinding and high-pressure treatments.The kraft pulping as a delignification method followed by bleaching has successfully removed almost 99%lignin in the fiber with high pulp yield and delignification selectivity.The morphology of the fibers was characterized by scanning electron microscopy,which showed a smooth surface,fiber bundles,gel-shaped nanofiber,and an average size of 94.05 nm with 69%of CNF in 34–100 nm size.The chemo-mechanical process exhibited a more crystalline nature in CNF than pulp kenaf.The low zeta potential values exhibit the distribution of fibrils and colloidal suspension stability without any further agglomeration.A lower concentration of CNF is less stable exhibiting the product agglomeration.Therefore,the chemo-mechanical process for the isolation of CNF(Hibiscus cannabinus)from kenaf involves sustainable,low-cost,non-toxic,and cheap alternatives than other traditional methods. 展开更多

减小关断开关耐受电压和提高负载电流峰值是电感储能型脉冲功率电源研究的难点。基于绝缘栅双极型晶体管(IGBT)的结构特点,提出一种改进的meat grinder电路,采用大匝比的耦合电感线圈,并利用IGBT自身反并联二极管使电路自恢复过程自发进... 减小关断开关耐受电压和提高负载电流峰值是电感储能型脉冲功率电源研究的难点。基于绝缘栅双极型晶体管(IGBT)的结构特点,提出一种改进的meat grinder电路,采用大匝比的耦合电感线圈,并利用IGBT自身反并联二极管使电路自恢复过程自发进行,最终电路主体只用了两个IGBT构成电感储能型脉冲电源的拓扑。该拓扑降低了对开关管的控制要求,同时可以产生几十千安大电流,具有重频运行的潜力。该文对电路动态过程分阶段进行了详细的理论分析和电路仿真。仿真结果显示该电路可产生波形平滑、峰值较高的电流输出。基于仿真分析的拓扑,该文研制了4.61kJ的电感储能型脉冲功率电源,采用20:1的大匝比耦合电感线圈,并进行试验测试,负载电流峰值达到30.40kA,脉宽1.7ms,测试结果与预期结果吻合较好。 展开更多

The manufacturing accuracy of ultra-precision master gears signifies the technological capability of the ultra-precision gear.Currently,there is little report about the manufacturing technologies of ultra-precision master gears at home and aboard.In order to meet the requirement of grinding ultra precision master gear,the gear grinder with flat-faced wheel Y7125 is chosen as the object machine tool and the geometric model of its precision generating part,the involute cam,is established.According to the structure of the involute cam,the effective working section and its adjustable range of the cam are determined,and the mathematical expressions of the effects of comprehensive eccentricity of the involute cam on gear profile deviations are derived.According to the primary harmonic trends of the deviation curve,it is shown that gear profile form and slope deviations in different work generating sections of the involute cam are different which the latter changes with the cam eccentricity obviously.Then,the issues of extreme values and methods of error compensation are studied and the conclusion that large adjustable range is benefit to search the optimal involute-cam section which is responding to the minimum gear profile deviations is obtained.A group of examples are calculated by choosing master gears with d=120 mm and m=2-6 mm and an involute cam with base diameter djcam =117 mm.And it is found that the maximum gear profile deviation counts for no more than 5% of the cam eccentricity after error compensation.A gear-grinding experiment on the master gear with m=2 mm is conducted by choosing different sections of the involute cam and the differences of gear profile deviations then the existence of the cam eccentricity are verified.The research discloses the rule of gear profile deviations caused by the comprehensive eccentricity of the involute cam and provides the theoretical guidance and the processing methods for grinding profile of the ultra precision master gear. 展开更多

Six-axis numerical control spiral bevel gear grinder was taken as the object, multi-body system theory and Denavit-Hartenberg homogeneous transformed matrix (HTM) were utilized to establish the grinder synthesis error model, and the validity of model was confirmed by the experiment. Additionally, in grinding wheel tool point coordinate system, the errors of six degrees of freedom were simulated when the grinding wheel revolving around C-axis, moving along X-axis and Y-axis. The influence of these six errors on teeth space, helix angle, pitch, teeth profile was discussed. The simulation results show that the angle error is in the range from -0.148 4 tad to -0.241 9 rad when grinding wheel moving along X, Y-axis; the translation error is in the range from 0.866 0 μm to 3.605 3μm when grinding wheel moving along X-axis. These angle and translation errors have a great influence on the helix angle, pitch, teeth thickness and tooth socket. 展开更多

Diamond grits are indispensable for sawing granite or concrete.Each year about 1 000 tons of diamond grits are consumed for such purposes.In all cases,mono crystalline diamond is used.However, polycrystalline grits(polygrits) are generally better performed than mono grits as abrasives.For example,poly grits of cubic boron nitride(e.g.Borazon(?) CBN-550 of Diamond Innovations) can cut faster and they last longer than mono grits(e.g.Borazon(?) CBN-500). Polygrits of alumina(e.g.Cubitron(?) of 3M) also out perform by far glassy grits(e.g.white alumina).For diamond superabrasives,micron polygrits formed by shock waves may polish as fast as mono grits of the same size,but without causing as much scratches due to the presence of smaller sintered grains.The improved performance of poly grits is attributed to their ability to micro chipping that renews the sharp cutting corners from time to time.By contrast,mono grits tend to round off at low cutting force or macro fracture at high cutting force,so they may lose the cutting ability rapidly. For sawing granite with mesh sizes 40/50 or coarser,poly grits of diamond have not been available until recently.In this research,we have made polygrits in mini cube with sizes of 18/20,20/25,and 30/40.Turbo grinders and wire saws were made by brazing both mono grits and polygrits on steel substrates.Cutting performance on granite demonstrated that grinding speed was faster with turbo grinder,and the surface finish was smoother with wire saw for poly grits than mono ones. Polygrits and mono grits of diamond were mixed for comparison(upper left).Polygrits of mini cubes were brazed on the pearl of a wire saw(upper right).Mono diamond grits were brazed on a turbo grinder(bottom diagrams ). 展开更多

The fly ashes(Class F and C)have been successfully used as the main substrates in the hydrothermal syntheses of Na-A,Na-P1,Na-X and sodalite zeolites.Both ashes and their derivatives after milling with magnetic field grinder were used.The paper investigates the effect of fly ash fraction size on the syntheses efficiency and physicochemical properties of the obtained zeolites.The starting material and obtained zeolites were subjected to physicochemical characteristics using X-ray diffraction,X-ray fluorescence,particle size analysis,and scanning electron microscopy methods.The paper showed a significant effect of the used fly ash fractions on the quantity,purity,quality and level of crystallinity of the zeolites phase obtained.The application of the grinding process prior to the syntheses of zeolites,with a relatively small financial outlay,significantly increases their application potential.Obtained zeolites are a promising material in the context of their use,inter alia,in environmental protection. 展开更多

In this study,carboxymethylation,which introduces carboxyl groups to hydroxyl sites in pulp fibers,was used as a pretreatment before mechanical nanofibrillation.The carboxyl group content of the pulp fibers was greatly affected by the dosage of chloroacetic acid and the reaction temperature.During the following fibrillation process,it was found that pulp fibers with higher carboxyl group content exhibited higher water holding capacities and smaller dimensions.A more homogenous structure with a higher amount of individual fibrils was also observed in FE-SEM images of pulp fibers with high carboxyl group content.This can be explained by a high ionic group content in the fiber wall resulting in lower delamination resistance,making the fibrils easier to separate.Carboxymethylation pretreatment as a facilitator of fibrillation in cellulosic pulps is an efficient way to obtain cellulose nanofibrils and consequently decrease the energy consumption of the process. 展开更多

The pulsed power supply(PPS)is one important component in the electromagnetic launch system.The inductive PPSs have attracted researchers’attentions with the major advantages of high energy storage density(over the capacitive PPSs)as well as simple structure and easy control(over the rotating mechanical PPSs).As for the inductive PPSs,the circuit topology of the basic module will directly determine the comprehensive performance of the whole system.From the perspectives of working principles,strengths,weaknesses,and comprehensive performance,this paper presents a historical and technical review of the major circuit topologies for the inductive PPSs. 展开更多

Considering grinding a cam with numerical control(NC)cam grinder,a mathematical model should be estab- lished with the unified parameter based on the original cam-lobe lift data to describe the movement of wheel and establish the relation between the wheel center coordinate,the measuring angle and workpiece’s spindle rotation angle.By analyzing,the grinding wheel can be regarded as different followers.To the planar and roller followers,different mathematical models are established, but they can be unified in Eqs.(17)of this paper with the different value of the roller radius r<sub>1</sub>.And also the model is suit for the edged follower when assuming the roller radius r<sub>1</sub>=0.Experimental verification was done with TKM120 CNC/CBN grinder with NC sets’ interpolation according to the model,which shows that high precision parts can be manufactured and this mathemat- ical model can be practically applied for NC cam grinder. 展开更多
