Through an analysis of the language and culture communication between Mrs. Pang, Ah-Vee and Mandy, this essay argues that the gap between the first and second generation Chinese Americans can be bridged through a positive acculturation to their dual cultural heritages. It illuminates that the immigrant Chinese parents and their American-born children should take strength from their dual cultural heritages and create a renewed and reinvigorated cultural identity.展开更多
