文摘Various factors, including weak tie-lines into the electric power system(EPS)networks, can lead to low-frequency oscillations(LFOs),which are considered an instant,non-threatening situation, but slow-acting and poisonous.Considering the challenge mentioned, this article proposes a clustering-based machine learning(ML)framework to enhance the stability of EPS networks by suppressing LFOs through real-time tuning of key power system stabilizer(PSS)parameters. To validate the proposed strategy, two distinct EPS networks are selected:the single-machine infinite-bus(SMIB)with a single-stage PSS and the unified power flow controller(UPFC)coordinated SMIB with a double-stage PSS.To generate data under various loading conditions for both networks,an efficient but offline meta-heuristic algorithm, namely the grey wolf optimizer(GWO),is used, with the loading conditions as inputs and the key PSS parameters as outputs. The generated loading conditions are then clustered using the fuzzy k-means(FKM)clustering method. Finally, the group method of data handling(GMDH)and long short-term memory(LSTM)ML models are developed for clustered data to predict PSS key parameters in real time for any loading condition.A few well-known statistical performance indices(SPI)are considered for validation and robustness of the training and testing procedure of the developed FKM-GMDH and FKM-LSTM models based on the prediction of PSS parameters. The performance of the ML models is also evaluated using three stability indices(i.e.,minimum damping ratio, eigenvalues, and time-domain simulations)after optimally tuned PSS with real-time estimated parameters under changing operating conditions.Besides, the outputs of the offline(GWO-based)metaheuristic model, proposed real-time(FKM-GMDH and FKM-LSTM)machine learning models, and previously reported literature models are compared.According to the results, the proposed methodology outperforms the others in enhancing the stability of the selected EPS networks by damping out the observed unwanted LFOs under various loading conditions.
文摘Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks(UWSNs)are gaining popularity because of their potential uses in oceanography, seismic activity monitoring, environmental preservation, and underwater mapping.Yet,these networks are faced with challenges such as self-interference,long propagation delays, limited bandwidth, and changing network topologies. These challenges are coped with by designing advanced routing protocols. In this work,we present Under Water Fuzzy-Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy networks(UWF-RPL),an enhanced fuzzy-based protocol that improves decision-making during path selection and traffic distribution over different network nodes. Our method extends RPL with the aid of fuzzy logic to optimize depth, energy,Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI)to Expected Transmission Count(ETX)ratio, and latency.Theproposed protocol outperforms other techniques in that it offersmore energy efficiency, better packet delivery, lowdelay, and no queue overflow. It also exhibits better scalability and reliability in dynamic underwater networks, which is of very high importance in maintaining the network operations efficiency and the lifetime of UWSNs optimized.Compared to other recent methods,it offers improved network convergence time(10%–23%),energy efficiency(15%),packet delivery(17%),and delay(24%).

文摘This research explores the use of Fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbor(F-KNN)and Artificial Neural Networks(ANN)for predicting heart stroke incidents, focusing on the impact of feature selection methods, specifically Chi-Square and Best First Search(BFS).The study demonstrates that BFS significantly enhances the performance of both classifiers. With BFS preprocessing, the ANN model achieved an impressive accuracy of 97.5%,precision and recall of 97.5%,and an Receiver Operating Characteristics(ROC)area of 97.9%,outperforming the Chi-Square-based ANN,which recorded an accuracy of 91.4%.Similarly,the F-KNN model with BFS achieved an accuracy of 96.3%,precision and recall of 96.3%,and a Receiver Operating Characteristics(ROC)area of 96.2%,surpassing the performance of the Chi-Square F-KNN model, which showed an accuracy of 95%.These results highlight that BFS improves the ability to select the most relevant features, contributing to more reliable and accurate stroke predictions. The findings underscore the importance of using advanced feature selection methods like BFS to enhance the performance of machine learning models in healthcare applications, leading to better stroke risk management and improved patient outcomes.
文摘The implementation of Countermeasure Techniques(CTs)in the context of Network-On-Chip(NoC)based Multiprocessor System-On-Chip(MPSoC)routers against the Flooding Denial-of-Service Attack(F-DoSA)falls under Multi-Criteria Decision-Making(MCDM)due to the three main concerns, called:traffic variations, multiple evaluation criteria-based traffic features, and prioritization NoC routers as an alternative. In this study,we propose a comprehensive evaluation of various NoC traffic features to identify the most efficient routers under the F-DoSA scenarios.Consequently,an MCDM approach is essential to address these emerging challenges. While the recent MCDM approach has some issues, such as uncertainty, this study utilizes Fuzzy-Weighted Zero-Inconsistency(FWZIC)to estimate the criteria weight values and Fuzzy Decision by Opinion Score Method(FDOSM)for ranking the routers with fuzzy Single-valued Neutrosophic under names(SvN-FWZIC and SvN-FDOSM)to overcome the ambiguity. The results obtained by using the SvN-FWZIC method indicate that the Max packet count has the highest importance among the evaluated criteria, with a weighted score of 0.1946.In contrast, the Hop count is identified as the least significant criterion, with a weighted score of 0.1090.The remaining criteria fall within a range of intermediate importance, with enqueue time scoring 0.1845,packet count decremented and traversal index scoring 0.1262,packet count incremented scoring 0.1124,and packet count index scoring 0.1472.In terms of ranking,SvN-FDOSM has two approaches:individual and group. Both the individual and group ranking processes show that(Router 4)is the most effective router, while(Router 3)is the lowest router under F-DoSA.The sensitivity analysis provides a high stability in ranking among all 10 scenarios. This approach offers essential feedback in making proper decisions in the design of countermeasure techniques in the domain of NoC-based MPSoC.

文摘Wind energy has emerged as a potential replacement for fossil fuel-based energy sources. To harness maximum wind energy,a crucial decision in the development of an efficient wind farm is the optimal layout design. This layout defines the specific locations of the turbines within the wind farm. The process of finding the optimal locations of turbines,in the presence of various technical and technological constraints, makes the wind farm layout design problem a complex optimization problem. This problem has traditionally been solved with nature-inspired algorithms with promising results. The performance and convergence of nature-inspired algorithms depend on several parameters, among which the algorithm termination criterion plays a crucial role.Timely convergence is an important aspect of efficient algorithm design because an inefficient algorithm results in wasted computational resources, unwarranted electricity consumption, and hardware stress. This study provides an in-depth analysis of several termination criteria while using the genetic algorithm as a test bench, with its application to the wind farm layout design problem while considering various wind scenarios. The performance of six termination criteria is empirically evaluated with respect to the quality of solutions produced and the execution time involved.Due to the conflicting nature of these two attributes, fuzzy logic-based multi-attribute decision-making is employed in the decision process. Results for the fuzzy decision approach indicate that among the various criteria tested, the criterion Phi achieves an improvement in the range of 2.44%to 32.93%for wind scenario 1.For scenario 2,Best-worst termination criterion performed well compared to the other criteria evaluated, with an improvement in the range of 1.2%to 9.64%.For scenario 3,Hitting bound was the best performer with an improvement of 1.16%to 20.93%.

文摘Conventional coordinated control strategies for DC bus voltage signal(DBS)in islanded DC microgrids(IDCMGs)struggle with coordinating multiple distributed generators(DGs)and cannot effectively incorporate state of charge(SOC)information of the energy storage system, thereby reducing the system flexibility. In this study,we propose an adaptive coordinated control strategy that employs a two-layer fuzzy neural network controller(FNNC)to adapt to varying operating conditions in an IDCMG with multiple PV and battery energy storage system(BESS)units. The first-layer FNNC generates optimal operating mode commands for each DG,thereby avoiding the requirement for complex operating modes based on SOC segmentation. An optimal switching sequence logic prioritizes the most appropriate units during mode transitions. The second-layer FNNC dynamically adjusts the droop power to overcome power distribution challenges among DG groups. This helps in preventing the PV power from exceeding the limits and mitigating the risk of BESS overcharging or over-discharging.The simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy enhances the coordinated operation of multi-DG IDCMGs,thereby ensuring the efficient and safe utilization of PV and BESS.

文摘The evaluation and assessment of network security is a decision-making(DM)problem that occurs in an environment with multiple criteria, which have uncertainty, bipolarity, and extra-related information. The traditional approaches fail to address the need to acquire a wide range of information for the assessment, especially in situations where the criteria have both positive and negative aspects and contain extra fuzzy information. Therefore,in this manuscript,we aim to introduce a DM approach based on the concept of bipolar complex fuzzy(BCF)Yager aggregation operators(AOs).The related properties of these aggregation operators(AOs)are also discussed. Moreover,in this article,we diagnose the Yager operations in the setting of BCF.The basic idea of the interpreted operators and DM approach is to access the problem linked with the network security that is to evaluate and select the finest network security control and network security protocols for protecting and safeguarding the network of any organization or home(case studies). Finally,to exhibit the supremacy and success of the described theory,we examine them with the prevailing theories.

文摘Dividing wall batch distillation with middle vessel(DWBDM)is a new type of batch distillation column, with outstanding advantages of low capital cost, energy saving and flexible operation. However, temperature control of DWBDM process is challenging, since inherently dynamic and highly nonlinear, which make it difficult to give the controller reasonable set value or optimal temperature profile for temperature control scheme. To overcome this obstacle, this study proposes a new strategy to develop temperature control scheme for DWBDM combining neural network soft-sensor with fuzzy control.Dynamic model of DWBDM was firstly developed and numerically solved by Python, with three control schemes:composition control by PID and fuzzy control respectively, and temperature control by fuzzy control with neural network soft-sensor.For dynamic process, the neural networks with memory functions, such as RNN,LSTM and GRU,are used to handle with time-series data. The results from a case example show that the new control scheme can perform a good temperature control of DWBDM with the same or even better product purities as traditional PID or fuzzy control, and fuzzy control could reduce the effect of prediction error from neural network, indicating that it is a highly feasible and effective control approach for DWBDM,and could even be extended to other dynamic processes.

文摘Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)are one of the best technologies of the 21st century and have seen tremendous growth over the past decade.Much work has been put into its development in various aspects such as architectural attention, routing protocols, location exploration, time exploration, etc. This research aims to optimize routing protocols and address the challenges arising from conflicting objectives in WSN environments, such as balancing energy consumption, ensuring routing reliability, distributing network load, and selecting the shortest path. Many optimization techniques have shown success in achieving one or two objectives but struggle to achieve the right balance between multiple conflicting objectives. To address this gap, this paper proposes an innovative approach that integrates Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)with a fuzzy multi-objective framework. The proposed method uses fuzzy logic to effectively control multiple competing objectives to represent its major development beyond existing methods that only deal with one or two objectives. The search efficiency is improved by particle swarm optimization(PSO)which overcomes the large computational requirements that serve as a major drawback of existing methods. The PSO algorithm is adapted for WSNs to optimize routing paths based on fuzzy multi-objective fitness. The fuzzy logic framework uses predefined membership functions and rule-based reasoning to adjust routing decisions. These adjustments influence PSO’s velocity updates, ensuring continuous adaptation under varying network conditions. The proposed multi-objective PSO-fuzzy model is evaluated using NS-3 simulation. The results show that the proposed model is capable of improving the network lifetime by 15.2%–22.4%,increasing the stabilization time by 18.7%–25.5%,and increasing the residual energy by 8.9%–16.2% compared to the state-of-the-art techniques. The proposed model also achieves a 15%–24% reduction in load variance, demonstrating balanced routing and extended network lifetime.Furthermore, analysis using p-values obtained from multiple performance measures(p-values<0.05)showed that the proposed approach outperforms with a high level of confidence. The proposed multi-objective PSO-fuzzy model provides a robust and scalable solution to improve the performance of WSNs.It allows stable performance in networks with 100 to 300 nodes, under varying node densities, and across different base station placements.Computational complexity analysis has shown that the method fits well into large-scale WSNs and that the addition of fuzzy logic controls the power usage to make the system practical for real-world use.

文摘Dear Editor,This letter deals with the controller synthesis problem of networked Takagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzy systems.Due to the introduction of network communications, the same premise is no longer shared by fuzzy plants and fuzzy controllers. This makes the classic parallel distribution compensation(PDC)control infeasible. To overcome this situation,a novel method for reconstructing the membership functions'grades is proposed, which synchronizes the time scales. Then, the membership function dependent method is adopted to introduce asynchronous errors and detailed membership function information. For the event-triggered control strategy,a series of robust H∞stable conditions in LMI form are derived. Finally,a simulation of a practical system is used to demonstrate the method proposed in this letter can reduce conservatism.
文摘Internet of Things(IoT)interconnects devices via network protocols to enable intelligent sensing and control.Resource-constrained IoT devices rely on cloud servers for data storage and processing. However, this cloudassisted architecture faces two critical challenges:the untrusted cloud services and the separation of data ownership from control.Although Attribute-based Searchable Encryption(ABSE)provides fine-grained access control and keyword search over encrypted data, existing schemes lack of error tolerance in exact multi-keyword matching. In this paper,we proposed an attribute-based multi-keyword fuzzy searchable encryption with forward ciphertext search(FCS-ABMSE)scheme that avoids computationally expensive bilinear pairing operations on the IoT device side. The scheme supportsmulti-keyword fuzzy search without requiring explicit keyword fields, thereby significantly enhancing error tolerance in search operations. It further incorporates forward-secure ciphertext search to mitigate trapdoor abuse,as well as offline encryption and verifiable outsourced decryption to minimize user-side computational costs.Formal security analysis proved that the FCS-ABMSE scheme meets both indistinguishability of ciphertext under the chosen keyword attacks(IND-CKA)and the indistinguishability of ciphertext under the chosen plaintext attacks(IND-CPA).In addition,we constructed an enhanced variant based on type-3 pairings. Results demonstrated that the proposed scheme outperforms existing ABSE approaches in terms of functionalities, computational cost, and communication cost.
