The objective is to design an event-triggered scheme and an observer such that the resulting est...This paper investigates the problem of event-triggered H∞state estimation for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy affine systems. The objective is to design an event-triggered scheme and an observer such that the resulting estimation error system is asymptotically stable with a prescribed H∞performance and at the same time unnecessary output measurement transmission can be reduced. First, an event-triggered scheme is proposed to determine whether the sampled measurements should be transmitted or not. The output measurements, which trigger the condition, are supposed to suffer a network-induced time-varying and bounded delay before arriving at the observer. Then, by adopting the input delay method, the estimation error system can be reformulated as a piecewise delay system. Based on the piecewise Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and the Finsler's lemma, the event-triggered H∞observer design method is developed. Moreover, an algorithm is proposed to co-design the observer gains and the event-triggering parameters to guarantee that the estimation error system is asymptotically stable with a given disturbance attenuation level and the signal transmission rate is reduced as much as possible. Simulation studies are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

However, in this paper a new idea is proposed that the error in digitized data which is a major derived data source in...Traditionally, it is widely accepted that measurement error usually obeys the normal distribution. However, in this paper a new idea is proposed that the error in digitized data which is a major derived data source in GIS does not obey the normal distribution but the p-norm distribution with a determinate parameter. Assuming that the error is random and has the same statistical properties, the probability density function of the normal distribution, Laplace distribution and p-norm distribution are derived based on the arithmetic mean axiom, median axiom and p-median axiom, which means that the normal distribution is only one of these distributions but not the least one. Based on this ideal distribution fitness tests such as Skewness and Kurtosis coefficient test, Pearson chi-square chi(2) test and Kolmogorov test for digitized data are conducted. The results show that the error in map digitization obeys the p-norm distribution whose parameter is close to 1.60. A least p-norm estimation and the least square estimation of digitized data are further analyzed, showing that the least p-norm adjustment is better than the least square adjustment for digitized data processing in GIS.展开更多
This work presents a novel approach combining radial basis function(RBF)interpolation with Galerkin projection to efficiently solve general optimal control problems.The goal is to develop a highly flexible solution to...This work presents a novel approach combining radial basis function(RBF)interpolation with Galerkin projection to efficiently solve general optimal control problems.The goal is to develop a highly flexible solution to optimal control problems,especially nonsmooth problems involving discontinuities,while accounting for trajectory accuracy and computational efficiency simultaneously.The proposed solution,called the RBF-Galerkin method,offers a highly flexible framework for direct transcription by using any interpolant functions from the broad class of global RBFs and any arbitrary discretization points that do not necessarily need to be on a mesh of points.The RBF-Galerkin costate mapping theorem is developed that describes an exact equivalency between the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker(KKT)conditions of the nonlinear programming problem resulted from the RBF-Galerkin method and the discretized form of the first-order necessary conditions of the optimal control problem,if a set of discrete conditions holds.The efficacy of the proposed method along with the accuracy of the RBF-Galerkin costate mapping theorem is confirmed against an analytical solution for a bang-bang optimal control problem.In addition,the proposed approach is compared against both local and global polynomial methods for a robot motion planning problem to verify its accuracy and computational efficiency.展开更多

Because a nonlinear feature exists in the batteries and the radial-basis-function neural network (RBF NN) has good characteristics to solve the nonlinear problem, a practical method for the SOC estimation of batteries based on the RBF NN with a small number of input variables and a simplified structure is proposed. Firstly, in this paper, the model of on-line SOC estimation with the RBF NN is set. Secondly, four important factors for estimating the SOC are confirmed based on the contribution analysis method, which simplifies the input variables of the RBF NN and enhttnces the real-time performance of estimation. FiItally, the pure electric buses with LiFePO4 Li-ion batteries running during the period of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo are considered as the experimental object. The analysis of the data revealed three test productivi...The International Software Benchmarking and Standards Group (ISBSG) data-base was used to build estimation models for estimating software functional test effort. The analysis of the data revealed three test productivity patterns representing economies or diseconomies of scale and these patterns served as a basis for investigating the characteristics of the corresponding projects. Three groups of projects related to the three different productivity patterns, characterized by domain, team size, elapsed time and rigor of verification and validation carried out during development, were found to be statistically significant. Within each project group, the variations in test effort can be explained, in addition to functional size, by 1) the processes executed during development, and 2) the processes adopted for testing. Portfolios of estimation models were built using combinations of the three independent variables. Performance of the estimation models built using the function point method innovated by the Common Software Measurement International Consortium (COSMIC) known as COSMIC Function Points, and the one advocated by the International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) known as IFPUG Function Points, were compared to evaluate the impact of these respective sizing methods on test effort estimation.展开更多

Two recent reviews[1,2] showed that kernel density estimation(KDE) method and Gaussian mixture model(GMM) perform about equally best among possible background models. For KDE, the selection of kernel functions and their bandwidths greatly influence the performance. There were few attempts to compare the adequacy of functions for KDE. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of various functions for KDE. Functions tested include almost everyone cited in the literature and a new function, Laplacian of Gaussian(LoG) is also introduced for comparison. All tests were done on real videos with vary-ing background dynamics and results were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Effect of different bandwidths was also investigated.展开更多
BACKGROUND Adolescent major depressive disorder(MDD)is a significant mental health concern that often leads to recurrent depression in adulthood.Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI)offers uniqu...BACKGROUND Adolescent major depressive disorder(MDD)is a significant mental health concern that often leads to recurrent depression in adulthood.Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI)offers unique insights into the neural mechanisms underlying this condition.However,despite previous research,the specific vulnerable brain regions affected in adolescent MDD patients have not been fully elucidated.AIM To identify consistent vulnerable brain regions in adolescent MDD patients using rs-fMRI and activation likelihood estimation(ALE)meta-analysis.METHODS We performed a comprehensive literature search through July 12,2023,for studies investigating brain functional changes in adolescent MDD patients.We utilized regional homogeneity(ReHo),amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations(ALFF)and fractional ALFF(fALFF)analyses.We compared the regions of aberrant spontaneous neural activity in adolescents with MDD vs healthy controls(HCs)using ALE.RESULTS Ten studies(369 adolescent MDD patients and 313 HCs)were included.Combining the ReHo and ALFF/fALFF data,the results revealed that the activity in the right cuneus and left precuneus was lower in the adolescent MDD patients than in the HCs(voxel size:648 mm3,P<0.05),and no brain region exhibited increased activity.Based on the ALFF data,we found decreased activity in the right cuneus and left precuneus in adolescent MDD patients(voxel size:736 mm3,P<0.05),with no regions exhibiting increased activity.CONCLUSION Through ALE meta-analysis,we consistently identified the right cuneus and left precuneus as vulnerable brain regions in adolescent MDD patients,increasing our understanding of the neuropathology of affected adolescents.展开更多

Performance of the estimation models built using the function point method innovated by the Common Software Measurement International Consortium (COSMIC) known as COSMIC Function Points, and the one advocated by the International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) known as IFPUG Function Points, were compared to evaluate the impact of these respective sizing methods on test effort estimation.
文摘There have been vast amount of studies on background modeling to detect moving objects. Two recent reviews[1,2] showed that kernel density estimation(KDE) method and Gaussian mixture model(GMM) perform about equally best among possible background models. For KDE, the selection of kernel functions and their bandwidths greatly influence the performance. There were few attempts to compare the adequacy of functions for KDE. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of various functions for KDE. Functions tested include almost everyone cited in the literature and a new function, Laplacian of Gaussian(LoG) is also introduced for comparison. All tests were done on real videos with vary-ing background dynamics and results were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Effect of different bandwidths was also investigated.

文摘BACKGROUND Adolescent major depressive disorder(MDD)is a significant mental health concern that often leads to recurrent depression in adulthood.Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI)offers unique insights into the neural mechanisms underlying this condition.However,despite previous research,the specific vulnerable brain regions affected in adolescent MDD patients have not been fully elucidated.AIM To identify consistent vulnerable brain regions in adolescent MDD patients using rs-fMRI and activation likelihood estimation(ALE)meta-analysis.METHODS We performed a comprehensive literature search through July 12,2023,for studies investigating brain functional changes in adolescent MDD patients.We utilized regional homogeneity(ReHo),amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations(ALFF)and fractional ALFF(fALFF)analyses.We compared the regions of aberrant spontaneous neural activity in adolescents with MDD vs healthy controls(HCs)using ALE.RESULTS Ten studies(369 adolescent MDD patients and 313 HCs)were included.Combining the ReHo and ALFF/fALFF data,the results revealed that the activity in the right cuneus and left precuneus was lower in the adolescent MDD patients than in the HCs(voxel size:648 mm3,P<0.05),and no brain region exhibited increased activity.Based on the ALFF data,we found decreased activity in the right cuneus and left precuneus in adolescent MDD patients(voxel size:736 mm3,P<0.05),with no regions exhibiting increased activity.CONCLUSION Through ALE meta-analysis,we consistently identified the right cuneus and left precuneus as vulnerable brain regions in adolescent MDD patients,increasing our understanding of the neuropathology of affected adolescents.
