To deal with the stress interference caused by simultaneous propagation of multiple fractures and the wettability reversal and physical property changes of the reservoir caused by fracturing fluid getting in during large-volume fracturing of tight oil reservoirs through a horizontal well, a non-planar 3D fracture growth model was built, wettability reversal characterizing parameters and change of relative permeability curve were introduced to correct the production prediction model of fractured horizontal well, a fracturing design optimization software(Fr Smart) by integrating geological and engineering data was developed, and a fracturing design optimization approach for tight oil reservoirs based on fracture control was worked out. The adaptability of the method was analyzed and the fracture parameters of horizontal wells in tight oil reservoirs were optimized. The simulation results show that fracturing technology based on fracture control is suitable for tight oil reservoirs, and by optimizing fracture parameters, this technology makes it possible to produce the maximum amount of reserves in the well-controlled unit of unconventional reservoirs. The key points of fracturing design optimization based on fracture control include increasing lateral length of and reducing the row spacing between horizontal wells, increasing perforation clusters in one stage to decrease the spacing of neighboring fractures, and also avoiding interference of old and new fracturing wells. Field tests show that this technology can increase single well production and ultimate recovery. Using this technology in developing unconventional resources such as tight oil reservoirs in China will enhance the economics significantly. 展开更多

When deep and ultra-deep shale gas well fracturing is carried out,multi-cluster fracturing can hardly realize synchronous initiation and propagation of hydraulic fractures due to the combined effects of heterogeneity of deep in-situ stress and"dense cluster"fracture arrangement, and the strong interference between fractures aggravates the unbalanced fracture propagation degree.Field practice proves that the fracture-opening temporary plugging fracturing technology can effectively control the unbalanced propagation of multiple fractures. In addition, the application effect of temporary plugging process can be improved by developing a method for simulating fracture control during fracture-opening temporary plugging fracturing of deep/ultra-deep shale-gas horizontal wells.Based on rock mechanics, elasticity mechanics, fluid mechanics and fracture propagation theory, combined with the flow distribution equation of horizontal-well multi-cluster fracturing and the plugging equation of temporary plugging balls, this paper establishes a fracture propagation model and a fracture control simulation method for the fracture-opening temporary plugging fracturing of deep/ultra-deep shale gas horizontal wells. Then, the influences of the number of temporary plugging balls and the times and timing of temporary plugging on temporary plugging control are simulated, and the influences of temporary plugging balls on fracture propagation morphology and SRV(stimulated reservoir volume)distribution are analyzed by taking Sinopec's one deep shale gas well in Dingshan-Dongxi structure of southeast Sichuan Basin as an example. And the following research results are obtained.First,fracture-opening temporary plugging can significantly promote the balanced propagation of multiple fractures, and the simulation confirms that the number of temporary plugging balls and the times and timing of temporary plugging play an important role in fracture control.Second,as the number of temporary plugging balls increase, the SRV increases firstly and then decreases,so there is an optimal number of temporary plugging balls.Third, increasing the times of temporary plugging can improve the fault tolerance rate of temporary plugging and diverting process, but it is necessary to increase the number of temporary plugging balls appropriately.Fourth, when the timing of temporary plugging is appropriate, the balanced propagation of multiple fractures is achieved and the maximum SRV is reached. In conclusion, this method is of great significance to optimizing the design of temporary plugging fracturing, improve the implementation level of field process and develop deep and ultra-deep shale gas efficiently. 展开更多

The damage and fracture in hot spinning of titanium alloy is a very complex process under the combined effects of microstructure evolution and stress state. In this study, their dependences on processing parameters were investigated by an integrated FE model considering microstructure and damage evolution, and revealing the effects of microstructure and stress states on damage evolution. The results show that the inner surface of workpiece with the largest voids volume fraction is the place with the greatest potential of fracture. This is mainly attributed to the superposition effects of positive stress triaxiality and the smallest dynamic recrystallization(DRX)fraction andβphase fraction at the inner surface. The damage degree is decreased gradually with the increase of initial spinning temperature and roller fillet radius.Meanwhile,it is first decreased and then increased with the increases of spinning pass and roller feed rate, which can be explained based on the variations ofβphase fraction,DRX fraction, stress state and tensile plastic strain with processing parameters. In addition, the dominant influencing mechanisms were identified and discussed. Finally, the thickness reduction without defect in the hot spinning of TA15 alloy tube is greatly increased by proposing an optimal processing scheme. 展开更多

As the excavation of roadway, new fractures will be formed and the pre-existing fractures extend with the redistribution of stress in surrounding rocks. Eventually, fracture zone and bed separation are formed in rocks because of the developed fractures. Therefore, mastering the fracture evolution of surrounding rocks is very important to maintain the stability of roadway. The surrounding rocks of main haulage road- way in a certain coal mine is so broken and loose that the supporting is very difficult. Based on compre- hensive anal[ysis of the engineering geological conditions, a sight instrument was used to observe the fractures of internal surrounding rocks, Four indices, i.e., the width of fracture zone W, the number of fractures n, the width of fractures d and rock fracture designation RFD, are put forward to evaluate the fracture dewelopment. According to the evolution rules of the soft rock roadway from this paper, control principles by stages and by regions are presented through the research. At the same time, the best time of grouting reinforcement is determined on the basis of fracture saturation. Field practice shows that the roadway can satisfy normal production during service periods by suitable first support and grouting reinforcement. 展开更多

Theoretical consideration was conducted on a relation between pore diameter and interfacialarea between pores and fibers when pores uniforinly distribute in C/C composites. It was shownthat bonding at the fiber/matrix interface apparently decreased with decreasing a pore diameter, and consequently a new idea of microspace modification concept was proposed for controllingfracture behavior of C/C composites. Four types of C/C composites with various pore structureswere fabricated by hot-pressing, and their fracture behavior was investigated by three pointbending tests. The fracture behavior of the C/C composites was changed from brittle one topseudo ductile one with decreasing the pore diameter. This result supported the validity of themicrospace modification concept proposed in this paper. 展开更多

Controllable shock wave fracturing is an innovative engineering technique used for shale reservoir fracturing and reformation.Understanding the anisotropic fracture mechanism of shale under impact loading is vital for optimizing shock wave fracturing equipment and enhancing shale oil production. In this study, using the well-known notched semi-circular bend(NSCB)sample and the novel double-edge notched flattened Brazilian disc(DNFBD)sample combined with a split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB),various dynamic anisotropic fracture properties of Lushan shale, including failure characteristics, fracture toughness, energy dissipation and crack propagation velocity, are comprehensively compared and discussed under mode Ⅰ and mode Ⅱ fracture scenarios.First, using a newly modified fracture criterion considering the strength anisotropy of shale, the DNFBD specimen is predicted to be a robust method for true mode Ⅱ fracture of anisotropic shale rocks. Our experimental results show that the dynamic mode Ⅱ fracture of shale induces a rougher and more complex fracture morphology and performs a higher fracture toughness or fracture energy compared to dynamic mode Ⅰ fracture. The minimal fracture toughness or fracture energy occurs in the Short-transverse orientation, while the maximal ones occur in the Divider orientation. In addition,it is interesting to find that the mode Ⅱ fracture toughness anisotropy index decreases more slowly than that in the mode Ⅰ fracture scenario. These results provide significant insights for understanding the different dynamic fracture mechanisms of anisotropic shale rocks under impact loading and have some beneficial implications for the controllable shock wave fracturing technique. 展开更多

In the second member of the Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation(T_(3)x_(2))in the Xinchang area, western Sichuan Basin, only a low percent of reserves has been recovered, and the geological model of gas reservoir sweet spot remains unclear.Based on a large number of core, field outcrop, test and logging-seismic data, the T_(3)x_(2) gas reservoir in the Xinchang area is examined. The concept of fault-fold-fracture body(FFFB)is proposed, and its types are recognized. The main factors controlling fracture development are identified, and the geological models of FFFB are established.FFFB refers to faults, folds and associated fractures reservoirs.According to the characteristics and genesis,FFFBs can be divided into three types:fault-fracture body,fold-fracture body, and fault-fold body.In the hanging wall of the fault, the closer to the fault, the more developed the effective fractures;the greater the fold amplitude and the closer to the fold hinge plane, the more developed the effective fractures. Two types of geological models of FFFB are established:fault-fold fracture, and matrix storage and permeability. The former can be divided into two subtypes:network fracture, and single structural fracture, and the later can be divided into three subtypes:bedding fracture, low permeability pore, and extremely low permeability pore. The process for evaluating favorable FFFB zones was formed to define favorable development targets and support the well deployment for purpose of high production. The study results provide a reference for the exploration and development of deep tight sandstone oil and gas reservoirs in China. 展开更多

Based on the action mechanism of linear shaped charge( LSC ), penetration performance of LSC on rock was studied. The optimal standoff and the vertex angle of LSC were studied and determined by lab experiments. Through cutting sand-cement grout samples, the spacing interval of boreholes can approach 17.5 times of the bore-hole' s diameter, and the result of the directional expansion of crack is satisfactory. The result of field experiment indicates cutting effect is very good, the ruggedness in fracture plane is less than 50 mm, the rate of half-hole marks is nearly 100 % , and the crack inspection shows that there is no damage in the internal of the cutting part. All these suggest that the orientation fracture blasting with LSC is a good means in directional fracture controlled blasting and is worth popularizing widely. 展开更多

Even though a large number of large-scale arch dams with height larger than 200 m have been built in the world, the transient groundwater flow behaviors and the seepage control effects in the dam foundations under difficult geological conditions are rarely reported. This paper presents a case study on the transient groundwater flow behaviors in the rock foundation of Jinping I double-curvature arch dam, the world's highest dam of this type to date that has been completed. Taking into account the geological settings at the site, an inverse modeling technique utilizing the time series measurements of both hydraulic head and discharge was adopted to back-calculate the permeability of the foundation rocks, which effectively improves the uniqueness and reliability of the inverse modeling results. The transient seepage flow in the dam foundation during the reservoir impounding was then modeled with a parabolic variational inequality(PVI) method. The distribution of pore water pressure, the amount of leakage, and the performance of the seepage control system in the dam foundation during the entire impounding process were finally illustrated with the numerical results. 展开更多
