For this, tensile tests of rocks under high-temperature treatment were conducted with a ϕ75 mm split Hopkinson tension bar (SHTB) to investigate the mesoscopic fracture and damage properties of rock. An improved scanning electron microscopy (SEM) experimental method was used to analyze the tensile fracture surfaces of rock samples. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed to assess evolution of mesoscopic damage of heat-damaged rock under tensile loading. A constitutive model describing the mesoscopic fractal damage under thermo-mechanical coupling was established. The results showed that the high temperatures significantly reduced the tensile strength and fracture surface roughness of the red sandstone. The three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of the fracture surface of the samples that experienced tensile failure at 900 °C showed a flat surface. The standard deviation of elevation and slope angle of specimen fracture surface first increased and then decreased with increasing temperature. The threshold for brittle fracture of the heat-damaged red sandstone specimens was 600 °C. Beyond this threshold temperature, local ductile fracture occurred, resulting in plastic deformation of the fracture surface during tensile fracturing. With increase of temperature, the internal meso-structure of samples was strengthened slightly at first and then deteriorated gradually, which was consistent with the change of macroscopic mechanical properties of red sandstone. The mesoscopic characteristics, such as the number, mean side length, maximum area, porosity, and fractal dimension of crack, exhibited an initial decline, followed by a gradual increase. The mesoscopic fractal characteristics were used to establish a mesoscopic fractal damage constitutive model for red sandstone, and the agreement between the theoretical and experimental results validated the proposed model.展开更多

The circular model uses arcs and tangent lines as the yarn flexion shape and selects the circle as the yarn cross-section. Then, a new elliptical cross-section mathematical model is rapidly built by the Jaeobian transformation of the circular model. The Matiab software is used for the 3D simulation. It is shown that 3D simulations of woven fabrics with different weft and warp yarn counts, weft and warp densities, structure phases, weaves and flattening coefficients are successfully realized by Matiab basing on the elliptical mathematical model.展开更多

The cross-sectional dependence follows the first order spatial autoregressive error (SAE) process and is imposed on the remainder disturbances. It is important to note that this paper does not consider alternative forms of spatial lag dependence other than SAE. It also does not allow for endogeneity of the regressors and requires the normality assumption to derive the LM test.展开更多

Founded the constrained maximum point of scattering cross-section integral under condition of the energy-momentum conservation. The integrand is substituted for an expression of Gaussian type in the neighborhood of this point. It made possible to compute this integral numerically. The paper has two parts. The hunting procedure of the constrained maximum point is considered and the properties of this maximum point are discussed in the given part of the paper. It is shown that virtuality of all internal lines of the “comb” diagram reduced at the constrained maximum point with energy growth. In the second part of the paper we give some the arguments in favor of consideration of the mechanism of virtuality reduction as the mechanism of the total hadron scattering cross-section growth, which is not taken into account within the framework of Regge theory.展开更多

This, in turn, allows us to overcome the computational difficulties for the calculation of the integrals expressing the cross section to sufficiently large numbers of particles. We have managed to overcome these problems in calculating the proton-proton inelastic cross-section for production (n ≤ 8) number of secondary particles in within the framework of φ3 model. As the result the obtained dependence of inelastic cross-section and total scattering cross-section on the energy √s are qualitative agrees with the experimental data. Such description of total cross-section behavior differs considerably from existing now description, where reggeons exchange with the intercept greater than unity is considered.展开更多

We do not know any works that adopted the inter- ference contributions for inelastic processes. This is due to the generally adopted assumption that the main contribution to the integrals expressing the cross section makes multi-Regge domains with its characteristic strong ordering of secon- dary particles by rapidity. However, in this work, we find what kind of space domains makes a major contribution to the integral and these space domains are not multi-Regge. We demonstrated that because these interference contributions are significant, so they cannot be limited by a small part of them. With the help of the approximate replacement the sum of a huge number of these contributions by the integral were calculated partial cross sections for such numbers of secondary particles for which direct calculation would be impossible. The offered model qualitative agrees with experimental dependence of total scattering cross-section on energy with a characteristic minimum in the range ≈ 10 GeV. However, quantitative agreement was not achieved;we assume that due to the fact that we have examined the simplest diagrams of theory.展开更多

However, the models which have been existed are lack of objectivity due to that they are mostly studied based on the statistical methodology characterization for rough surfaces and simple partition for the deformation formats of contact asperity. In this paper, a fractal prediction model is developed for the thermal contact conductance between two rough surfaces based on the rough surface being described by three-dimensional Weierstrass and Mandelbrot fractal function and assuming that there are three kinds of asperity deformation modes: elastic, elastoplastic and fully plastic. Influences of contact load and contact area as well as fractal parameters and material properties on the thermal contact conductance are investigated by using the presented model. The investigation results show that the thermal contact conductance increases with the increasing of the contact load and contact area. The larger the fractal dimension, or the smaller the fractal roughness, the larger the thermal contact conductance is. The thermal contact conductance increases with decreasing the ratio of Young's elastic modulus to the microhardness. The results obtained indicate that the proposed model can effectively predict the thermal contact conductance at the interface, which provide certain reference to the further study on the issue of heat transfer between contact surfaces.展开更多

The critical areas of a single asperity are scale dependent, with an increase in the contact load and contact area, a transition from elastic, elastoplastic to full plastic deformation takes place in this order. In considering the size distribution function, analytic expression between the total contact load and the real contact area on the contact surface is obtained. The elastic, elastoplastic and full plastic contact load are obtained by the critical elastic contact area of the biggest asperity and maximun contact area of a single asperity. The results show that a rough surface is firstly in elastic deformation. As the load increases, elastoplastic or full plastic deformation takes place. For constant characteristic length scale G, the slope of load-area relation is proportional to fractal dimension D. For constant fractal dimension D, the slope of load-area relation is inversely proportional to G. For constant D and G, the slope of load-area relation is inversely proportional to property of the material ~b, namely with the same load, the material of rough surface is softer, and the total contact area is larger. The contact mechanics model provides a foundation for study of the friction, wear and seal performance of rough surfaces.展开更多

The model of point-source diffusive illuviation of the shear-fluid-ore formation system was constructed, and the numerical simulation of dynamics of the ore formation system was finished. The result shows that: (1) The metallogenic system have nested fractal structure. Different fractal dimension values in different systems show unbalance and inhomogeneity of ore-forming processes in the geohistory. It is an important parameter to symbolize the process of remobilization and accumulation of ore-forming materials. Also it can indicate the dynamics of the metallogenic system quantitatively to some extent. (2) In essence, the fractal dispersive ore-forming dynamics is a combination of multi-processes dominated by fluid dynamics and supplemented by molecule dispersion in fluids and fluid-rock interaction. It changes components and physico-chemical properties of primary rocks and fluids, favouring deposition and mineralization of ore-forming materials. (3) Gold ore-forming processes in different types of shear zones are quite different. (1) In a metallogenic system with inhomogeneous volumetric change and inhomogeneous shear, mineralization occurs in structural barriers in the centre of a shear zone and in geochemical barriers in the shear zone near its boundaries. But there is little possibility of mineralization out of the shear zone. (2) As to a metallogenic system with inhomogeneous volumetric change and simple shear, mineralization may occur only in structural barriers near the centre of the shear zone. (3) In a metallogenic system with homogeneous volumetric change and inhomogeneous shear, mineralization may occur in geochemical barriers both within and out of the shear zone.展开更多

文摘To address the issues of single warning indicators, fixed thresholds, and insufficient adaptability in coal and gas outburst early warning models, this study proposes a dynamic early warning model for gas outbursts based on adaptive fractal dimension characterization.By analyzing the nonlinear characteristics of gas concentration data,an adaptive window fractal analysis method is introduced.Combined with boxcounting dimension and variation of box dimension metrics,a cross-scale dynamic warning model for disaster prevention is established. The implementation involves three key phases:First, wavelet denoising and interpolation methods are employed for raw data preprocessing, followed by validation of fractal characteristics.Second,an adaptive window cross-scale fractal dimension method is proposed to calculate the box-counting dimension of gas concentration, enabling effective capture of multi-scale complex features. Finally, dynamic threshold partitioning is achieved through membership functions and the 3σprinciple,establishing a graded classification standard for the mine gas disaster(MGD)index.Validated through engineering applications at Shoushan#1 Coal Mine in Henan Province, the results demonstrate that the adaptive window fractal dimension curve exhibits significantly enhanced fluctuation characteristics compared to fixed window methods, with local feature detection capability improved and warning accuracy reaching 86.9%.The research reveals that this model effectively resolves the limitations of traditional methods in capturing local features and dependency on subjective thresholds through multiindicator fusion and threshold optimization, providing both theoretical foundation and practical tool for coal mine gas outburst early warning.

文摘Gas-liquid two-phase flow in fractal porous media is pivotal for engineering applications, yet it remains challenging to be accurately characterized due to complex microstructure-flow interactions. This study establishes a pore-scale numerical framework integratingMonte Carlo-generated fractal porousmedia with Volume of Fluid(VOF)simulations to unravel the coupling among pore distribution characterized by fractal dimension(Df),flow dynamics, and displacement efficiency.A pore-scale model based on the computed tomography(CT)microstructure of Berea sandstone is established, and the simulation results are compared with experimental data.Good agreement is found in phase distribution, breakthrough behavior, and flow path morphology, confirming the reliability of the numerical simulation method.Ten fractal porous media models with Df ranging from 1.25~1.7 were constructed using a Monte-Carlo approach. The gas-liquid two-phase flow dynamics was characterized using the VOF solver across gas injection rates of 0.05-5m/s,inwhich the time-resolved two-phase distribution patternswere systematically recorded. The results reveal that smaller fractal dimensions(Df=1.25~1.45)accelerate fingering breakthrough(peak velocity is 1.73 m/s at Df=1.45)due to a bimodal pore size distribution dominated by narrow channels.Increasing Df amplifies vorticity generation by about 3 times(eddy viscosity is 0.033 Pa⋅s at Df=1.7)through reduced interfacial curvature, while tortuosity-driven pressure differentials transition from sharp increases(0.4~6.3 Pa at Df=1.25~1.3)to inertial plateaus(4.8 Pa at Df=1.7).A nonlinear increase in equilibrium gas volume fraction(fav=0.692 at Df=1.7)emerges from residual gas saturation and turbulence-enhanced dispersion. This behavior is further modulated by flow velocity, with fav peaking at 0.72 under capillary-dominated conditions(0.05 m/s),but decreasing to 0.65 in the inertial regime(0.5 m/s).The work quantitatively links fractal topology to multiphase flow regimes, demonstrating the critical role of Df in governing preferential pathways, energy dissipation, and phase distribution.

文摘In contrast to conventional reservoirs, tight formations have more complex pore structures and significant boundary layer effect, making it difficult to determine the effective permeability. To address this, this paper first proposes a semi-empirical model for calculating boundary layer thickness based on dimensional analysis, using published experimental data on microcapillary flow.Furthermore, considering the non-uniform distribution of fluid viscosity in the flow channels of tight reservoirs,a theoretical model for boundary layer thickness is established based on fractal theory, and permeability predictions are conducted through Monte Carlo simulations. Finally, sensitivity analyses of various influencing parameters are performed. The results show that, compared to other fractal-based analytical models, the proposed permeability probabilistic model integrates parameters affecting fluid flow with random numbers, reflecting both the fractal and randomness characteristics of capillary size distribution. The computational results exhibit the highest consistency with experimental data.Among the factors affecting the boundary layer,in addition to certain conventional physical and mechanical parameters, different microstructure parameters significantly influence the boundary layer as well.A higher tortuosity fractal dimension results in a thicker boundary layer, while increases in pore fractal dimension, porosity, and maximum capillary size help mitigate the boundary layer effect. It is also observed that the permeability of large pores exhibits greater sensitivity to changes in various influencing parameters.Considering micro-scale flow effects, the proposed model enhances the understanding of the physical mechanisms of fluid transport in dense porous media.
文摘The damped Helmholtz-Duffing oscillator is a topic of great interest in many different fields of study due to its complex dynamics.By transitioning from conventional continuous differential equations to their fractal counterparts, one gains insights into the system's response under new mathematical frameworks. This paper presents a novel method for converting standard continuous differential equations into their fractal equivalents. This conversion occurs after the nonlinear system is transformed into its linear equivalent.Numerical analyses show that there are several resonance sites in the fractal system, which differ from the one resonance point found in the continuous system. One important finding is that the fractal system loses some of its stabilizing power when decaying behavior is transformed into a diffuse pattern.Interestingly,a decrease in the fractal order in resonance settings shows a stabilizing impact, highlighting the dynamics'complexity inside fractal systems. This endeavor to convert to fractals is a revolutionary technique that is being employed for the first time.
文摘In order to give a true reflection of the spatial structure of woven fabric, a circular mathematical model is established based on the Peirce's model and the principle of the coordinate transformation. It is shown that 3D simulations of woven fabrics with different weft and warp yarn counts, weft and warp densities, structure phases, weaves and flattening coefficients are successfully realized by Matiab basing on the elliptical mathematical model.

文摘Interest has recently emerged in potential applications of(n,2n)reactions of unstable nuclei.Challenges have arisen because of the scarcity of experimental cross-sectional data. This study aims to predict the(n,2n)reaction cross-section of long-lived fission products based on a tensor model. This tensor model is an extension of the collaborative filtering algorithm used for nuclear data.It is based on tensor decomposition and completion to predict(n,2n)reaction cross-sections;the corresponding EXFOR data are applied as training data. The reliability of the proposed tensor model was validated by comparing the calculations with data from EXFOR and different databases.Predictions were made for long-lived fission products such as^(60)Co,^(79)Se,^(93)Zr,^(107)P,^(126)Sn,and^(137)Cs,which provide a predicted energy range to effectively transmute long-lived fission products into shorter-lived or less radioactive isotopes. This method could be a powerful tool for completing(n,2n)reaction cross-sectional data and shows the possibility of selective transmutation of nuclear waste.
文摘This paper extends and generalizes the works of [1,2] to allow for cross-sectional dependence in the context of a two-way error components model and consequently develops LM test. The cross-sectional dependence follows the first order spatial autoregressive error (SAE) process and is imposed on the remainder disturbances. It is important to note that this paper does not consider alternative forms of spatial lag dependence other than SAE. It also does not allow for endogeneity of the regressors and requires the normality assumption to derive the LM test.
文摘We demonstrate a possibility of computation of inelastic scattering cross-section in a multi-peripheral model by application of the Laplace method to multidimensional integral over the domain of physical process. In the second part of the paper we give some the arguments in favor of consideration of the mechanism of virtuality reduction as the mechanism of the total hadron scattering cross-section growth, which is not taken into account within the framework of Regge theory.
文摘We demonstrate a new technique for calculating proton-proton inelastic cross-section, which allows one by application of the Laplace' method replace the integrand in the integral for the scattering amplitude in the vicinity of the maximum point by expression of Gaussian type. Such description of total cross-section behavior differs considerably from existing now description, where reggeons exchange with the intercept greater than unity is considered.
文摘We develop a new method for taking into account the interference contributions to proton-proton inelastic cross-section within the framework of the simplest multi-peripheral model based on the self-interacting scalar φ3 field theory, using Laplace’s method for calculation of each interference contribution. However, quantitative agreement was not achieved;we assume that due to the fact that we have examined the simplest diagrams of theory.

文摘The thermal contact conductance problem is an important issue in studying the heat transfer of engineering surfaces, which has been widely studied since last few decades, and for predicting which many theoretical models have been established. The results obtained indicate that the proposed model can effectively predict the thermal contact conductance at the interface, which provide certain reference to the further study on the issue of heat transfer between contact surfaces.

文摘Because the result of the MB fractal model contradicts with the classical contact mechanics, a revised elastoplastic contact model of a single asperity is developed based on fractal theory. The contact mechanics model provides a foundation for study of the friction, wear and seal performance of rough surfaces.

文摘Based on an analysis of the fractal structures and mass transport mechanism of typical shear-fluid-ore formation system, the fractal dispersion theory of the fluid system was used in the dynamic study of the ore formation system. (3) In a metallogenic system with homogeneous volumetric change and inhomogeneous shear, mineralization may occur in geochemical barriers both within and out of the shear zone.
